Sorry this chapter is so short. Anything I wrote didn't sound right, after Sookie discovering who she is.
The room felt strangely cold without Eric in it, even though he'd just confessed to being a Vampire it strangely didn't bother me. I wonder how factual that is? It would explain why I can't hear him, I'll have to monitor his movements or grill my father for information later... That still feels weird to say even in my mind. I wonder if I'll ever get used to it? Eric also never said what time he'd be coming and found myself drifting off back to sleep.
The next thing I know is the room is super bright and I can hear the birds chirping outside. Hu? I thought the windows, blinds and curtains where all shut. Yes Eric had both for some reason. Slowly I opened my eyes when a cool breeze drifted over my face. I almost had a heart attack when I saw a figure at the window, with his back to me. Then I remembered Eric telling me my father would be here this afternoon. SHIT! I sat bolt right up in bed. Luckily fully clothed.
"And so the sleeping beauty wakes." Is the first thing he said to me, turning to face me. It's. the first time I think we really stared at each other, taking one another in.
"What time is it?" I ask, blinking sleep away from my eyes.
"One in the afternoon. I called your boss, your not going in tonight. Family matters are more important, plus I need to sit down with you and Nort-"
"What's a Vampire?" I blurted out. Slightly pissed off that he'd called Sam. Arlene's already pissed off, she's going to be extra nasty next time I'm in.
"Arlene won't touch you... if she knows what's good for her." I felt my eyes widen in shock. Is this what other people felt when I used to accidentally slip up? Or when I was really tired, it sometimes happened. This was weird!
"For you, yes I can understand why it is weird. I'm guessing Northman told you what he is from your Vampire question?" I simply nod, too shocked. He looks up at the ceiling and closes his eyes.
"He really shouldn't of done that, but I'm guessing you told him what you are? Or perhaps he was already suspicious I wonder. Yes it is true there are things such as Vampires and others roaming in the shadows amongst the normal human man or woman."
"More?" I asked shocked, all over again.
"Yes! Fairies, Vampires, Witches, Warlocks, Wizards, Pixies, Maenads, Werewolves, Shape Shifters, Sprites, Werepanthers, Dragon Shifters... just to name a few, and many more."
"FAIRIES?" I say in shock, "As in tinker bell?" He actually let out a belly kinda laugh, and calmed into a chuckle when he noticed, my not amused expression.
"Yes, that is what you are half of a Fairy. You are from a very powerful line of Fairies. We are the sky fae. I am the ruling sky fae King, and have been around longer than the Vampire sleeping downstairs." I stared at him in shock.
KING? THE FUCK?
