Chapter Five
Hollis Mann was able to get a room at Ramada Inn some five miles from Bethesda Hospital. She had gotten out of the shower after the long flight from Hawaii. She had been awaiting word on when she will be able to see Jethro Gibbs in his room.
When she had met Gibbs wife Loreile. She liked the woman in everyway having Jethro to captured her heart and soul. For where she wasn't able to do it with him years ago. He was still suffering from the heartache of Shannon and Kelly having been killed.
She was told the full details by Gibbs after finding the tape of music to be listening to Kelly's voice on the tape. She had found him on the stairs of the basement. She had demanded a reason as to why before leaving him for good. She remembered that night in the basement.
"Do you really want to know why Hollis? I am just sick and tired of people trying to get into my mind about my past. And for you to asked as to why I don't wish to opened up my heart to you. I just can't and I don't think that I ever will with anyone as the years go by."
"Then why the lies with everyone around you always scare to say anything to you? I am not the one that killed your wife and child Jethro." She cried out with her response and throwing a tool at him into his direction.
Pointing at her angry. "Don't you ever throw one of my tools at me. I told you that I wasn't interested in a relationship Hollis. However you continued to push me further that my own team was able to see what was happening and the way I was acting." Gibbs said with getting up from the step.
"I've had enough Jethro. You won't be seeing any further with me asking for a transfer to the Hawaiian DOD office and maybe deciding on 22 years retiring. Good luck with your life Leroy Jethro Gibbs."
She had come back to reality when her phone rang on the bed. She picked it up with looking at the name of the hospital calling. "Hello this is Hollis Mann how can I help you?
"This is Doctor Anders I was told to call you to let you know that Special Agent Gibbs is awake and alert. If you like to visit please come now since we have no idea how long it will last." He announced over the phone...
"I will be there as soon as possible Doctor Anders." She said with hanging up the phone to finish up with dressing, hair and makeup.
After checking herself in the mirror with the years finally showing on her face and in general. She looked for her keys to find them in her purse before leaving the rooms and her rented vehicle.

Bethesda, Hospital
Colonel Hollis Mann of the DOD arrived onto the fourth floor after stopping by the security area to pick up her pass in order to get onto the floor and visit Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs.
Meanwhile Gibbs had his eyes closed after the nurse was in earlier to check his caterer to change the bag filled with dark pee. Otherwise his vitals were basically the same with being in a guarded condition.
The door opened when she walked in quietly in order not to scare him. She pulled up a chair to be near his bed. However Gibbs opened his eyes to see a ghost of his past. "Hollis Mann is that really you?" He said with his voice low with her just barely able to hear him.
"Yes Jethro it's me after all this time. I heard with reading the Hawaiian newspaper that you're been injured in Somalia, Paraguay. I met your wife Loreile earlier when I had arrived from the airport. So how are you, Jethro tonight in spite of what happened? I don't know the full details on what happened with your injuries."
"I don't know. I can't feel anything right now Hollis with the heavy medication. The doctors and nurses have been in and out of here all of the time. Even my wife was here earlier before going home to sleep. How are you, Hollis and working for the DOD?"
"Really great Gibbs. My husband Jake and I are planning on taking a week's vacation once I arrive back from here. I wanted to make sure you are alright with my final goodbye to you. I am breaking all ties with you."
"I am truly sorry about that Hollis." As he tried to catch his breath with the pain all of a sudden hitting him in his groin area.
"I will get someone here to check you out Jethro. I don't like to see you hurting like this. It's not fair at all." She replied with anger in her voice and with her expression.
"Please don't Hollis. I wanted to say that I am very sorry that I had treated you badly years ago. However things had changed the past years with me meeting with Loreile and my son Shane Jackson Gibbs having been born. I am going to change things when I get out of here with taking Loreile on a long vacation with my son and get away from life and crime." He said in a soft tone of his voice.
"I can understand Jethro. Since I have done the same with moving to Hawaii and with meeting my husband Jake a doctor. I plan on taking full advantage of it when I get back home. But first I am not leaving until tomorrow and I need to be sure that you're going to be fine."
"It all depends on my doctors and how they are able to save my life and other factors. I don't know if you're up to hearing the truth on what happened to me?" He said with her sitting down further on the chair.
"Try me Jethro." She responded with holding his hand...
"I wasn't smart enough to get away from Jose Juan Hernandez and be caught. I was constantly being tortured, sexually abused in every way by Hernandez and his soldiers. But the worst part was having my penis being castrated partially to make matters along with being gutted with a knife leaving me to hang down like a piece of meat."
"OMG! That is just horrible Jethro. I can imagine in what Loriele was thinking when she was told the news?" She quipped with her words.
"She was upset of course and horrified as well. And I had told her that this was going to happened to me in the first place that I wasn't coming back alive." He said with extreme emotion to see Hollis shaking her head at the news.
"I am truly sorry about it . I am just hoping that you work hard to get back on track with your health and life. Listen I will leave now and wish you all of the best." She moves up from her chair to kiss Gibbs on his cheek.
"Hollis please take care of yourself and your husband Jake."
"Thank you, Jethro." She moved to leave his room leaving him alone once again with his thoughts.
