"I wanna word with you sis!" Another voice chimed in. We could hear the conversations from the office. Whilst my attention was on a now nervous looking shifter, I was still keeping an ear out for Sookie. I could tell the shifter was too.

"Uh-Oh." He said, groaning.

"What?"

"That's Sookie's brother. Pretty sure you saw him last time you where here unfortunately."

"I wouldn't be here at all if it wasn't for Sookie's personal business. I don't know how much you are aware shifter but she is mine and your attitude towards me, could get you into a shit tone of trouble if you don't tone it down. We aren't out in the open... yet! But I'm still the Sheriff of my community along with keeping other's in check." I say coldly.

"Fuck off Jason." Sookie said.

"You must be angry to swear. It's the only time I ever hear you say it. What the fuck has happened between you and Gran? She won't say shit accept you ran off with some man - I guess the one who kissed you - shoulda punched his jaw out... and she said you won't be back any time soon?"

"None of your business. I do not ask you questions about your harem of women, you pick and chose to be with on a different night, so stay outta mine." She tells him! I smirk. Then focus my attentions on Merlotte who was also clearly listening.

"You forget your place shifter." I tell him. He turns to look at me with narrowed eyes.

"Do I? I have barely had any involvement with you lot and try my hardest to stay outta the supe community. I like my slice of normalcy, I didn't ask to be. born this way. I don't bother you, you don't bother me. You are on my turf Northman. I paid for this land, I built this Bar and Grill up from scratch from it's empty shell of a barn. I keep myself to myself. Why do I have you and another suddenly on my fucking door step? And what's really going on with Sookie?"

"Sookie's personal business is just that, hers. It's up to her how much she choses to reveal or not too. I am now telling you that if a single hair on that woman's head gets hurt under your roof I will not be held responsible for my actions. I know you are more than capable to protect her should she need protecting whilst under your care, working here. Or If I and he had any say she wouldn't be here at all."

"Who is he? That blonde supe dude from the other night. What is he? I could tell he was one of us but couldn't figure out what."

"That will be up to Sookie, if she decides to tell you." I tell him.

"Back to your attitude. I don't care what you do or don't do. I am the Sheriff of this area, and in charge of my kind including any stray supernatural creatures residing in my slice of Louisiana. How or why Sookie came to my attention is none of your business, who that man is, is none of your concern just make sure not a single thing hurts Sookie in any way physically and we should all be safe for another night, day - whatever." I had his attention then.

"Sookie told Andy to not call her a Stackhouse?" I raised my eyebrows at this.

"What did he do to piss her off?" I asked. Merlotte rolled his eyes!

"Accused her of stealing your car and that it would be the best day of his life to arrest a Stackhouse. Old feelings Andy's never been able to let go of regarding Jason Stackhouse."

It was then that a voice caught my attention.

"Hooker, come with Aunty Lala and let me get chu away from these piranha's I's can tell yous about to explode sista." I went to stand... where was he taking her away too? Merlotte got in my away.

"That's Lafayette. Sookie's childhood friend, and Tara's cousin. There's no need for a blood-bath Northman. I don't know what's going on. But I don't think I like this side of you, well I've never liked any side of you or your kind to be honest." I narrowed my eyes at him.

"I don't particularly like the smell of wet dog either. I'm only even here because of Sookie's and I's mutual acquaintance."

"ARE YOU JUST GOING TO IGNORE ME SIS?" We heard an annoyed yell.

"For fuck sake!" Merlotte groaned.

"Listen pretty boy! Leave yo sis alone, unless you wanna have the Lala charm leashed upon your ass for the next year. I suggest you think twice about pressing for answers you clearly ain't gonna get."

"Stackhouse let Sookie leave. If she wants to tell you, she will."

"What the fuck Andy? Keep ya nose out of family shit, I ain't done nothing." Ah the detective Andy, is the new voice I heard.

"Don't take that tone with me Stackhouse."

"Fuck off Andy, you ain't on duty now."

"No, but I know more than you do right now, because I nearly arrested your sister, due to the car she turned up in." Oh fuck, not my car, not my car.

"What car? Sookie got a battered up yellow mini... how's that worth stealing? C'mon Andy I know you don't like me, but what's Sookie ever done to you? We've had nothing on this afternoon so I got here before Sookie did. We've just been chilling."

Merlotte leaned his head back and looked up at the ceiling closing his eyes.

"I best get back out there. Don't go through my shit. I'll be able to smell Vampire stink. You stink just as bad, as you say I do by the way." And with those parting words the dog left his office.

As soon as he entered the bar area I heard Jason Stackhouse say in a rather loud an over the top way.

"Sam as well as, everyone else who's been in this place since three-four o'clock can confirm I've been in here. I ain't done nothin' wrong Andy. We've had nothing on this afternoon, so we came in early. I got here before Sookie so I ain't got not clue what's going on with her. But you gotta drop this shit you have against me Andy, I ain't done shit yet you're still trying to find something. You gotta let old feelings drop, against me, if you gonna start bringing my sister into this." Silence greeted his rant.

I decided to go into the bar area myself, just as I got in a mop of fake red hair came into my vision.

"Now that little miss goldilocks is gone... how about I show you handsome some real fun; and show you a walk, on the wild side." I completely ignored her, and an older voice chimed in as I leaned against the end of the bar, away from the group, no one had surprisingly noticed me yet except for the fake red head. Only one woman n particular holds my attentions.

"He's got a point Andy. He may be a hooligan sometimes, but never done nothin' bad to be arrested. A slap on the wrists yes, but arrested no? Sookie don't seem like the type of girl to steel a car."

"That's because she hasn't. It's my car." I say. All heads turn in my direction.

"Who the fuck are you? I hope you're proud of yourself breaking up my family!" The baby got in my face. I simply raised a bored eyebrow at him.

"Not gonna say nothin' hu?" His fist came to punch me, but my hand stopped him, and heard the unmistakable sound of bones crunching. I smirked at him as he yelped in pain clutching his hand cursing. I rolled my eyes.

"Make it a lesson to never judge a book by it's cover, before you know it's real contents you dumb h-shit. What Sookie tells you is up to her, but I wouldn't believe everything the old hag say's if I was you. It might come back and bite you."

"Call an ambulance, or someone take Stackhouse to the hospital." The older man took charge. Some guy came over dragging Jason away and turned to face me.

"I don't know what your business is with the Stackhouse family sir, but around here is a small family town. We don't often get straggler's around here."

"He's with me Sheriff." Sookie said from behind him. He turned around to face her, his back to me. This old man's a sheriff? He's just a baby compared to me. I found it really hard not to smirk in amusement.

My eyes narrowed as I noticed a sparkly sleeve wrapped around Sookie's shoulders, belonging to a black hand, with even more sparkly nails. What the fuck?

"Well that clears that up then. Now can we clear this whole thing up, so I can get back to my meal? Mrs Stackhouse is really upset Sookie. I think it wise if you go home." Stupid, stupid idiot.

"That ain't ever gonna happen Bud. I can't explain why, it's too complicated even I don't even understand it completely. I'm still processing everything which is why I'm staying with Eric, who's ah, a um?" She looked to me for help and I walked around the "SHERIFF" and stood by Sookie, removing the offending - to me - hand/arm from her shoulders none to gently and replaced it with my own.

"None of your business... Sheriff."

Hehe! Lots in this chapter :)
