Tomura dropped through the ceiling as he listened for footsteps coming through to their spot. A loud creaking and groaning filled the air. Splinters fell onto the floor and the whole entire ship shook. Ochako came crashing through the ceiling with a steel I beam in her hands. She looked slightly out of breath but she had a big smile on her face.
"You look so bad ass. It's literally the hottest thing I've ever seen in my whole life."
Ochako smirked, "Only because I'm not aiming at you?"
He snorted, "Kind of."
"There they are!" someone shouted.
Ochako swung the beam, crashing it into the wall, making wood fly every where. Blood spattered and men started screaming.
I don't ever want to make her mad...
"Ready?!" she shouted.
"Ready!"
She swung the I beam upward. It shredded the wood it came in contact with to nothing.
Debris started falling inward, more shouting was heard and a breeze was felt. It smelled like salty air and water. Tomura moved his arms from his head. His red eyes landed on Ochako seeing the strange look on her face. She looked... gone. She blinked suddenly and swung upward again, bringing the ceiling down completely.
Ochako threw the I beam to the side and held out her hand to the villain. Tomura used his four fingers, leaving out the thumb, took her hand and they started floating upward. The both of them pushed off of broken floors and beams until they landed onto the deck of the ship feeling the fresh air on their skin. They took a minute to get their balance.
I've never been so fucking happy to be outside and I hate sunlight, the villain thought looking around.
Ochako had been right all along. They were on a ship the whole time and it was huge. It looked like they had anchored down on an island somewhere. Neither one of them were good with geography so they had no idea where they were. It really looked like a place someone would go to for a vacation.
"We... we made it out."
The two love birds looked at each. They both had tears in their eyes as they looked around seeing they finally made it out of the white room. Out of the ship. In the open.
"Hang on," the heroine said.
He nodded knowing what was going to happen.
Ochako touched her finger tips again before linking arms with him. The two of the them began floating into the air again, practically swimming their way to the sand. It was odd that none of Overhaul's men were crawling out of the broken ship. There was no alarm no alert no nothing.
She released her quirk and they dropped to the sand softly.
"What do we do now?"
"I don't see any islands, boat or even people swimming," Ochako said looking at the ocean.
"Agreed."
"Can you swim?"
Tomura raised his eyebrows with a smirk on his face.
"What? It's a legit question-
"YOU AREN'T GOING ANYWHERE."
Ochako and Tomura turned around in time to see Overhaul coming out of the damaged ship. He looked super pissed off and bleeding in places.
"Fuck," he whispered.
"YOU DESTROYED MY HOME- MY SHIP!"
The scene before Ochako came in slow motion. Overhaul was coming at them- throwing sand behind him as he ran. A vein throbbing in his forehead and he looked psycho with his yellow eyes darkening over. Much to her surprise, Shigaraki shoved her back out of the way. He charged in after the Yakuza boss without even thinking about it. She reached out too slow, her fingers slipping through the fabric of his hole riddled shirt.
This was the third time the slow motion effect had happened in her life. It only ever occurred when she thought she was going to die and now it was because Overhaul could kill Tomura with his hands within seconds. He had no quirk. No defense against someone who was healthier than he was. He was weaker... sicker...
The decay villain would never make it out of there alive.
Ochako stepped forward when Overhaul made the first swing. Tomura deflected both hands and punched him through his plague mask. The plastic and metal plastic lodged into the angry man's face, making him howl in pain. The leader of the League of Villains swung again, this fist connecting with Overhaul's stomach. The villain vomited onto the sand.
Before Tomura could swing again- Ochako saw Overhaul raise his hand. It felt like her legs were dragging. She seemed like she couldn't move for some reason- or maybe she didn't want to move fast. That gloved hand was inches from Tomura's face.
"NOOOOOOOO!" she screamed.
Suddenly the air changed. Something went straight through the air knocking both men over into the sand. Sand was thrown into the water in waves. Shigaraki looked up to seeing Ochako clutching her head in agony. Her mouth was open but for some reason but no sound was coming out. He got up, tried walking towards her but it felt like his body was made of lead.
What's going on?
So much stuff had happened in his life and he had witnessed many worse things but this was a first. It was like the air around the area suddenly got heavy... Something was going on with Ochako and he didn't know what it was. Tomura turned around to see a delighted grin on Overhaul's face. Something made his stomach turn in a nasty way.
It's the drugs... The drugs he gave her... It's mutating her quirk...
He turned his head back to Ochako.
The situation took a turn for the worse. The ground around Ochako was collapsing inward and the air was crackling with hints of electricity. Something was different. This wasn't the same Ochako who exhibited abnormal strength... This wasn't her zero gravity quirk... Did he plan this all along? Did he know she would do this?
"What did you do to her?!" Tomura yelled.
"I created something beautiful," Overhaul stated as he stood up, "I created a powerful force of nature."
"She's not just a something!" Shigaraki yelled, "She's a person!"
Overhaul gave him a weird look before giving him a disgusting grin.
"You think God would just forgive you now for everything you've done by protecting one person? What? Did she say something nice to you?" he taunted, "You think any niceness she showed in that room showed she even liked you? She's a fucking hero Shigaraki. Don't be a naive child."
His mouth opened but no sound came out. Had he been naive?
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
Both of the villains turned around to Ochako bent in a weird way backwards, contorting in strange and painful looking ways. It was almost like seeing something in a horror movie with special effects because the way she moved looked fucked up.
"HOW DO I STOP THAT?!" he yelled but the Yakuza boss only laughed.
Tomura bit his bottom lip before he tried running towards her. The air pressure was almost unbearable as he got closer. He started to slow down as he got closer to her. He tried reaching out to her but he was stopped in his tracks. It was like he was hitting a wall. Tears stung his eyes but it did nothing to help. The look of agony on her face.
He did this to her.
Once he pulled back he was able to move a little more freely. The villain stumbled backwards and ran towards Overhaul. Boiling hot rage overcame him in a way he had never felt before. He was always pissed off- he lost count of how many times he got mad over something small... This was a whole new level...
He did this to her.
And it was enough to force his quirk out.
"WHAT THE HELL-
Decay started to eat at Overhaul's clothes. He ripped his jacket off and threw it to the side looking panicked.
Shigaraki's red eyes looked almost black as his own shirt started to decay off. Overhaul looked scared now. Since Tomura wasn't touching anything with his bare hands, it was more terrifying than usual. It wouldn't be the first time he had done this and wouldn't the last with his temper. He made a step towards Overhaul when another scream ripped through the air.
Tomura whipped his head around to see the most heartbreaking thing he would ever see in his life.
Ochako was reaching out to his with tears running down her face like a faucet. His heart stopped in his chest when he saw her lips move.
"Save me!"
Tomura's body kicked into overdrive as he started running towards her ignoring the amount of gravity that was threatening to crush him into the sand. It looked like she was trying to reach out to him but there was no way for him to touch her. No way to grab her hand and pull her to the safety
that was in his arms.
When he tried any harder against that invisible wall, his hand started to bend in a weird way and pain shot through his arm. He jerked back as fast as he could making the pain lessen some but it was odd.
What do I do? What do I do?
He pulled at his hair as he turned around. Overhaul was staring fondly at Ochako like he was proud of his self. Like he created something beyond human comprehension.
He... he has to have some of that quirk erasing shot. He wouldn't come out here after us without a back up plan. Fuck it.
Once again, Shigaraki charged at Overhaul. The Yakuza asshole was so busy watching Ochako self destruct that he didn't see Tomura raise his fist and slammed it into the other villain's face. He fell onto the ground. Overhaul looked so out of it for a moment it gave Shigaraki the chance to turn Overhaul's palms downward and straddled the creepy asshole. He pressed his knees into the top of his hands.
"What can I do to stop this?"
Overhaul snorted and Shigaraki slammed his fist into his cheek bone.
"TELL ME!"
The villain spit blood and saliva in Tomura's face but he didn't react.
"Isn't she beautiful?" he asked like he was proud of a child, "She's so much better than Eri. She's flawless."
"SHUT UP!"
"She's no longer Uravity."
For a moment, those words stunned him.
"She still is! She's still a hero!" Tomura yelled his voice cracking.
He was shaking now.
"She's one of the most powerful beings in the world. Her quirk mimics one of the most powerful objects in the universe. A black hole."
The heat left Shigaraki's body.
"W-what?"
"It is temporary- though I don't know how long... Could be permanent... She's my first creation. I never thought the results were going to be that great-
The decay villain slammed his fists into Overhaul's face but the asshole kept laughing.
"I want..." Tomura said but his voice wavered.
Tears stung his eyes.
"I want the quirk erasing serums. I know... I know you have it."
The other villain coughed and snorted, "You think you can stop that with just one?"
He was mocking him.
Shigaraki started searching his pockets until he found a hand full of syringes. Overhaul stared at him with his unusually creepy smile. In just a moment Tomura saw red and grabbed Overhaul's fucked up face and activated his quirk. The screams of Overhaul were drowned out by Ochako screaming again.
He got up while Overhaul clawed at his face like he was trying to fix the damage.
Shigaraki ran towards Ochako again. She was no longer paying attention to anything else. She just looked like she was mutely screaming and her body looked like it was losing it's color. When he felt the gravity increase, he stopped. He reached his hand out and closed his eyes. There were waves coming off of her. It was barely noticeable but it was there. The frequency was hard to tell.
I can fuck this all up. The amount of gravity she's producing will crush these needles. I... I'm gonna have to count from the moment I hear her scream. If there's waves, there's lapses in the gravity because of her scream.
He stood there waiting. The moment her scream ripped through, he began counting.
Twenty.
It was horrible that he had to watch her.
Sixty seven.
He would never see her again after this.
Ninety five.
Her scream ripped through the air.
One hundred seven!
He counted how long it lasted.
Six seconds.
He began counting again.
Thirty eight.
The look on her face would haunt him forever.
Sixty one.
He would kill Overhaul once this was over.
Eighty eight.
He would hate himself after all this.
Ninety six.
He popped off the caps of all the needles.
One hundred two!
It was slow motion. He charged in and jumped. Ochako's scream ripped through the air. Tomura felt no wave until he slammed all eight needles into her chest at once. He used his other hand to slam his palm on the plungers. The next wave hit and tossed him over a hundred feet away. It knocked the wind straight out of his lungs but at least the sand was softer than rock or concrete.
He lifted his body up slowly despite the protests that shot through his weakened body. His red eyes landed on the body of the gravity hero. She was laying half way out of the hole her newly mutated quirk had created. Tomura started walking at first. He was scared he might've killed her... What was he thinking? He was so stupid. He made a choice without thinking through...
She would've hated herself if she killed people... Innocent people. She would've taken out this whole island and the ship. He called her a black hole... Would she be able to destroy the world? Did- Did I make the right choice?
"O... Ochako?"
Her finger twitched but nothing more.
"God- I'm so sorry... I'm sorry-
He dropped to his knees throwing sand outward. He pulled her out of the hole and into his lap. He cradled her head against his shoulder and buried his face into her brown hair.
"I'm so sorry..."
Through the tears, he grabbed her wrist and checked her pulse. Ochako was still alive but... barely. It was weak.
How do we get out of here? What do I do?
"I have to lay you back down. I'm coming back."
Tomura slid her off to the side and got up. He jogged over to the bloody mess left on the sand. Overhaul was gone. Tomura sighed and looked around. He squinted seeing the asshole's green jacket laying in the sand several feet away.
Fucking tell me... Please!
He picked it up and started digging through the pockets. He felt three of fingers touch something slightly warm. Tomura pulled out a phone. He almost wept holding it in his hands. He dialed Kurogiri's number and it rang three times.
"Hello?"
"Kurogiri."
Silence.
"Kurogiri? Fucking phone-
"Tomura? Is that really you?"
"Yea."
Shigaraki was doing his best to not cry but his nose was starting to run.
"Where-
"I don't know. I'm going to send you our location. Can you get us?"
"Our- of course."
"Bye."
Tomura hung up before the misty man could say anything more. He walked across the warm sand back to Ochako. He managed to find the way to share their location.
"We're going home."
Tomura picked her up and held her close until the warp gate opened. He carried her through with a runny nose and red, watery eyes with no shame.
