Well good news, Aubrey is fine... mostly. The fever was caused by withdrawal from one of the medications she is on, Apparently, she had been forgetting to take it for a couple days. She should get better quickly... I hope.
Bethany is consistently stressed out by her pregnancy and is having a hard time accepting it, Kyle appears to have gotten over it though, and is reorganizing the storeroom. I'm currently building some new shelves to help with that. I'm considering how we can potentially store the food from the garden for extended periods of time though, might look into jars.

My eyes keep giving me a hard time, currently, my left eye isn't working and Aubrey has informed me it is currently just a dark gray color. Apparently, that's what it always looks like when they turn off... why haven't I asked about that before? I guess I never realized they can see it too... or I wish they didn't.
I have been considering returning to the base I woke up in to look for answers but I also don't want to leave anyone here by themselves nor do I want to leave the place empty...

It's about 0200 right now... just can't sleep. I keep seeing their faces at night, the lives I ended for a country that no longer exists... Tonight I was thinking about the first solo job I did when the new director took over. I was supposed to assassinate one of the Canadian Military higher-ups... some general who was pushing for militarization to counter the U.S. "invasion" of Canada. This was back in 2068. My original plan was to blow up part of his mansion with him in it by overloading one of the fusion generators in the basement. I was just waiting until his wife and three daughters were out of the house... I received a set of new orders from the director himself it included an updated kill list and made it clear that I had to personally witness and confirm the target's deaths. In other words, I couldn't just blow them up. The new kill list added all active staff and the general's family... I found myself in conflict with my duty and my morals... I finished my assignment though. I think the hardest part... the part that still gets to me is that all three of the girls were together the eldest watching her younger siblings playing with some dolls... I wish they had been in separate rooms, I shot the youngest first though... at least she died with a happy memory... unlike her sisters.
I wish I could change the past, but that isn't possible... I will never forget their faces... I'm sorry...

Aubrey is still feeling unwell but has improved a bit, that's good... I wish her health wouldn't jump around all the time. Bethany's gotten over her issues and has calmed down, she even seems to be able to eat properly again. Kyle is actually the problem now... he is irritating all of us with his excitement about being a dad. Well good for you Kyle, the baby can eat from your bowl then.
They're at it again! Seriously they calm down finally about this baby issue and now they're back to keeping me up at night. Going to need to put more effort into insulating the rooms now... or move them to the other side of the building.

Another Minuteman patrol came by today, had a small group of wasters with them. From what I gathered they were being escorted to the Castle to help rebuild it. One girl though had asked if she could stay with us, she looked to be a teenager still, gave me a rundown of her skills which ranged from electrical to masonry. Apparently, she has been helping the Minutemen setup and maintain their radio network and was being stationed at the nearby outpost filling an on-call job in case a radio failed. Asked her if she had any farming knowledge and she reluctantly informed me that she does not, but added that she knew how some preservative methods to help with storing food for long periods of time and that she would help in any way to make up for the cost of her stay. Also that she was provided two meals by the Minutemen so she wouldn't need much food.
I brought the matter up with the rest, Aubrey was all for it after I mentioned the girl's electrical skill, Beth was mixed, and Kyle thought it would be a good idea to get another hand on board to help out he also mentioned that she was probably being paid and would be bringing in a steady flow of caps. I honestly hadn't considered the fact that she would be paid for her work with the Minutemen, decided to tell her she can move in if she likes.
04/04/2287
Her name is Alisson, felt a bit stupid about not mentioning that in my previous log... She moved in yesterday and is currently cleaning out the room we gave her. We discussed how much she gets paid and found that it is only 100 caps a week though she gets hazard pay when working in hostile areas and gets paid a little more if she is sent out to fix something at another outpost the amount is based on travel time and work completed. All in all not much, she offered to pay 10% into the community funds which I accepted. She apparently has to check in every other day at the outpost which is fine. She's also 16, started working with electronics with her dad who worked in Diamond City as an electrician, she found out the Minutemen were back and looking for skilled workers so she joined up with them.
Aubrey and Ali have been talking computers for the last 3 hours, glad they are getting along well. Beth is working with Kyle on an irrigation system for the garden, Kyle has some idea for a flowing water set up so that it doesn't get stagnant or something... supposed to be better for the plants apparently.
Eye's are still weirding out, shifting in and out of color. Haven't gone blind in a while so... silver lining.
04/07/2287
Scared the hell out of Ali this morning, it was still dark out and she was coming out of her room to get water and ran into me. The first thing she saw was my eyes, her reaction... I haven't laughed like that in over 200 years.
Bethany and Aubrey are working in the house today while Kyle, Ali, and I are outside finishing up the fence. We decided to look into making a shack inside the fenced-in area for external storage as well as a shelter for the cow. It will be a little while till we have time for that though. In the meantime, we are planning to go into the ruins and start collecting bricks as well as whatever other scrap we find. With Ali to help us out we will be able to get a lot more done... It has been nice having three able-bodied people in this place again.
04/10/2287
Kyle built a lean-to for the cow out in the pen, should give it a little space out of the weather. Damn thing is terrified of it though like it's some kind of horrible monster. Kyle's trying to coax the animal into using it by placing its food closer to the lean-to each day. Stupid cow.
Ali is tinkering with the wiring in the building and has been putting holes in the wall trying to get all the dead wires out. Frustrating to fix but I've been using the opportunity to clean out the walls. Found several rotten support beams because of it. Kyles has been cutting new beams to replace them and collecting the sawdust for insulation. He has me and Bethany collecting long grass, apparently, if we dry it out it will make a decent insulator as well. Decided to collect gravel to add to the roof while we were at it, not much available in the area but something beats nothing. Beth was being a pain most of the time though, she's been stressing out about the garden all day. Ended up snapping at her about it.
My eyes are hurting again I'm gonna go to bed
04/12/2287
Alisson hurt her foot. Dropped a log on it while helping Kyle, looks like nothing more than a nasty bruise. The Minutemen sent a corpsman over to take a look and he didn't seem concerned just said to keep off it for a day and left her with a shot of med-x if she needed it. Took a look at Aubrey as well while he was here and sold us some herbal stuff they are making to see if it helps. Apparently, the Minutemen have free medical as well, they didn't charge Ali for the med-x... f**king benefits... starting to miss them now.
04/13/2287
Alison is working on reducing the dampness in the basement. Not sure how she's going to do it but she says it will be better for the generator and radio equipment. If she wants to do it it's fine by me. She also got some electric lights added to a couple rooms. Working on getting them wired into the greenhouse so we can get some makeshift grow lights going. Bethany seems happy about that, we may be able to actually get something out of the garden sooner if we can get the place warmed up. Kyle is building a fireplace out of a barrel and some pipe to go in there to help as the furnace can't get it warm enough by itself. Going to try to get the broken windows out and replace them with whatever intact windows we can find or fill them in with planks for the time being.
We collected a bunch of bricks from the ruins nearby. Glad the Minutemen have cleared out the ghoul things in the immediate area. Took turns standing watch anyway just to be safe. Kyle is laying out an area around the fence and lean-to for the bricks. Going to need to find a solution for the concrete.
Ali wants to take a look at my eyes, said she needs some tools first though to get a better look. Not sure what she's planning but if it helps I'm okay with it.
04/18/2287
Rough morning for me, ended up being startled awake. It was strange though... as I sat up I could see a green outline silhouette of Kyle in the hall. I closed my eyes and it was gone, I could hear Kyle trying to sneak past my room as well. I don't know what happened or what it was for. I couldn't go back to sleep and decided to see what Kyle was doing. Apparently, he was trying to grab some water for Bethany, I told him to just keep a couple bottles in their room. We wouldn't miss a couple of bottles. Gonna try to sleep again.
04/18/2287
It was rough but I got a little bit more sleep. Bethany is ecstatic because several of the plants have sprouted. I honestly didn't know she planted them yet, I thought she was just getting things set up for planting. Apparently, she planted some of the tomato ones, a few melons, and a pair of pumpkin ones. Glad they are growing... not sure if it's warm enough though. I guess I'm going to need to start working on the greenhouse a little more. I have an idea to melt the broken glass down in a kiln... but first I need a kiln. Even then it probably won't work but worth a try, according to Alisson glass workers are in high demand.
Minutemen started firing their big guns earlier. Thirty-six rounds if I counted right. Not sure what they were shooting at but whatever it was had a really rough last day. I wonder how far they can shoot though? Could hardly hear the impacts from the shells landing. Ali had no clue what they were shooting at either, said that firing orders are restricted to officers. Not surprised really, don't care enough to look further into it. Going to talk to Kyle about a kiln.
04/28/2287
Not sure where my pen ran off to this time but Aubrey lent me one of hers. My eyes went out the last couple of days as well. Couldn't see a thing but I know Pines well enough to get around. Aubrey helped me out as well, she seems better to me. Her arm is hurting but she says she is feeling better. I think the medication we got from the Minutemen actually works. Going to ask Ali before she heads to the outpost to see about buying or ordering more from them. I hope they will give us something, maybe even some plants to make our own?
04/30/2287
We are listed on Minutemen maps as "Mystic Pines Sheriff's Office, Lexington" according to Alisson. I'm fine with it even though I find it weird... not really an office. Aubrey said we should clean out the reception area and turn it into an office. I'm okay with that, using the space for something would be good. I got Aubrey to start on it, it was her idea, might as well get her working on it. I'll help out when I have time and Beth said she would help out once she's done in the greenhouse.
Kyles has been building the brick wall out back with some concrete we found at the 'mart in the backroom. Going to need to find more though as we only have a small amount. I'm going to follow the tracks up the road and see if I can find anything. Also gonna head down the road and see if the crates at the old army checkpoint have anything good in them. I doubt it but worth the look.
05/01/2287
Went to the train yard. Found several bags of concrete, most are usable but there are several bad ones that have water damage. There were a lot of ghoul bodies and a couple corpses, didn't look like the ghouls got them though. So I'm going to be careful on my return tomorrow with Kyle just in case someone has taken up residence. Going to take the cow with us to try and get as much of the concrete as we can. Might grab some of the crates while I'm there if the cow can handle it. Well, I need to get to bed, want to head out early.
05/03/2287
We got everything from the yard. Even took a door off one of the train cars, Kyle has an idea for it. Something about a sliding ceiling for the greenhouse to help prevent leakage? Not sure it's a good idea personally, but if it doesn't work we could build a frame for it to better secure the front door at night. So it was worth the time to dismantle it and drag the damn thing here.
Aubrey and Bethany were working on the front room while we did that, looks nicer now. I miss vacuums, never thought I would ever say that. Alisson finished cleaning her room out as well, she's got a nice bed as well looks new. Apparently bought it from some store in Diamond city, the name alone tells me it's probably in the f**king baseball stadium. It makes sense as well, large walls on all sides, lots of space, easily secured with enough people, and it would already have a lot of tools in its maintenance rooms. All you need is food and a means of storing water, but with a city sewer system and water mains there should be water underneath all you need to do is clean it. Food wouldn't be hard either as there's already dirt to work with. Really it makes perfect sense for a long-term place to live, but not really somewhere I would want to go shopping. According to Ali the Minutemen have cleared a route through Boston that passes the city. So I might make the trip later because it sounds like it might have higher-end shops than bunker hill.

Got a report from Nate. I have been "authorized" to create deputies to help maintain Lexington. Also, some gang moved into the other side of town that I should keep an eye out for. Nate's also asking me to clear out the place of any ghouls or gangers, just a request and he's offering me the use of the local Minutemen outpost to do it. Says I will be paid for the work if I do it.
I really don't want to get involved with his war. I just want to be left alone...
