Summary: Literally the title.

Hello, I'm back with the fifth story in the With a Twist series! Hopefully I don't cause a glitch by publishing this, but if that is the case then the next chapter probably won't come as soon as they usually do.

Anyways, this one is shorter than usual, and I'm sorry for that. But I had no other ideas for this first chapter, and wanted to leave it on a sort of cliffhanger. Enjoy!

Ben's POV

I was prepared for Coronation, and stood outside Castle Beast, waiting for the carriage that would take me and Mal to Coronation to arrive. As I fiddled with my beast ring, I heard a voice to my side.

"Oh, Bennyboo!"

I turned to see Audrey running towards me and tried not to scowl. She was dressed in her pink dress and walking forward with that ridiculous expression, like she was excited to see me but at the same time it seemed totally fake.

"Audrey," I greeted stiffly. "What is it?"

"Bennyboo," she pulled out the dreaded nickname again. "Are you really asking that? Clearly that fairy has bewitched you and you don't see it. Please come back to me, I love you."

"No you don't," I muttered. "You only ever cared about my title."

I saw the carriage arrive and said, "Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go."

Mal's POV

I stood with my friends, waiting for the carriage. They would be going ahead after it picked me up, and I intertwined my fingers with Evie's, giving my friend a sad look. The boys would be here to see me off soon.

"It's the day," I muttered, and she nodded.

"The day villains are set free," Evie said glumly. She hesitated, then said, "Mal? Do you actually love Ben?"

I looked around, and then - slowly - nodded.

"I think I do," I muttered, and looked down at my feet. "But all good things come to an end. And our parents will be free soon, we can take our place by their sides."

Evie sighed and nodded, and the boys arrived. We stood in silence for a moment, and then I saw the carriage coming. It stopped in front of us and Ben smiled at me, patting the seat next to him.

I tried to ignore my heartache as I let go of Evie's hand and climbed in, clutching the box with the ant-live potion spell to my side.

"Good luck," Evie said, and I nodded. It was time for Coronation.

Ben's POV

As the doors swung open, I took a deep breath and entered the room. Everyone was smiling and waving at me. I felt a nervous smile appear on my face, before I started walking and changed it to a blank expression. I walked closer and closer to the podium.

My eyes fell on Mal, who was smiling at me. But when she thought I wasn't looking, I saw her face fall.

What? I wondered. Why isn't she happy?

But I turned back to the front, I saw Audrey. She had a sour expression, and was glaring at Mal, who had looked up at Carlos, Evie, and Jay and didn't notice.

I tried to ignore it and saw Dad bow to Fairy Godmother, both smiling while Mom stood next to them. Fairy Godmother carefully lifted Dad's crown and I stopped in front of her.

I was scared, nervous, and worried but at the same time calm. Like the eye of the hurricane, I guess. Calm before the storm. I didn't know what was about to come next, but I knew I could do it. I would have Mal by my side.

I kneeled in front of Fairy Godmother and she lifted the crown for a second before it came to rest on my head. She lifted the wand out of its case and silence filled the room.

"Do you solemnly swear to govern the peoples of Auradon with justice and mercy for as long as you shall reign?"

I found my voice and said, "I do solemnly swear."

"Then it is my joy and honor to bless our new king."

As it finished, I felt a sense of disbelief and hope fill me. It was over. I was King. And nothing bad had happened.

Well...I spoke too soon.

At that moment the wand was ripped out of Fairy Godmother's hand. My eyes widened and I looked at Mal, seeing her staring in shock too. Then, I turned my attention back to the thief.

It was Audrey.

Evie's POV

At that moment, I felt a bit like screaming. The coronation had gone well, with Mal ready to steal the wand. But then of course someone had to get to it before her. Although, I wasn't sure if I felt relieved or not about that.

I didn't know what to do, so I clutched Carlos's hand and gave him a nervous look. He frowned and squeezed my hand and we watched the spectacle unfold.

"Child, what are you doing?!" FG shouted at Audrey, as she struggled to wield the wand, and a bolt of magic flew out of it.

"Ben doesn't love Mal!" she screamed. "She spelled him! He loves me!"

"Audrey, Mal did spell me but that spell washed away on our first date!" Ben shouted, making everyone gasp and me to look at Mal, who didn't look shocked at all. Almost like she already knew...

The wand started to spark and shot magic everywhere.

"Take cover!" Beast yelled, and everyone screamed and drew back. Everyone but Mal. She raced forward and pulled the wand away from Audrey, and the spark still flew but the princess was safe.

Her eyes glowed green as she struggled to keep the wand contained, and the sparks stopped. She stared at it in disbelief, as though she couldn't believe she had done that, and I came to my senses.

"Guys!" I hissed, and we all ran forward to Mal.

I didn't let go of Carlos's hand though, and we stood there as everyone watched us. It was time for the villains to be free, whether we liked it or not.

I did say it was only sort of a cliffhanger. We all know how it ends...but do we really? You'll see the biggest changes next chapter! Please review!
