Ok so I missed last month, time got away from me, but I'm back. More Rev!Falls! This time with Pacifica and Gideon. I'm really proud of this one, and I had a lot of fun fleshing out my version of the beast that is the Reverse Falls AU. Technically you can put this in the same universe as my other Rev!Falls story but they're not related or intended to be in the same universe. On with the story!
Disclaimer: Gravity Falls isn't mine, blah blah blah
"Oh, I don't know if that's a good idea Pacifica. I've heard rumors that those Gleefuls are scammers." Her mother said, worriedly.
"Oh come now Priscilla, if the kids want to go see a show I think we can spare a few dollars. Besides, Gideon is only here for the summer, might as well make the most of it." Her father cajoled jovially, and Pacifica beamed at him.
"Well, alright. I suppose one show won't hurt." Priscilla still looked hesitant, but smiled when her daughter hugged her tightly.
"Thanks mom! You're the best." Pacifica grinned at her mother, and went to tell her cousin the good news.
Pacifica and Gideon were both smiling excitedly as they sat down in the spacious blue tent. The large crowd whispered in hushed voices, regular visitors, most of the locals, wondering excitedly what this show would be, and tourists only here for the week muttering to each other about how excited they were to finally get the chance to see the Gleeful twins. The spotlights came on with a bang and Gideon jumped. Pacifica wanted to ask what was wrong but the crowd had gone deadly quiet and she felt almost unable to break the sudden silence. Mabel and Dipper Gleeful walked out on stage, grinning widely at the audience. Though she had seen the both in town before, and would have been the first to admit they were both very attractive, the stage clothing did them nothing but favors and she thought Dipper in particular looked extremely handsome. The stone on Mabel's headband shimmered under the bright lights, and Dipper's slicked back hair drew attention to his very unique birthmark. Pacifica's eye was quickly drawn to the large box being wheeled on stage.
"For our first trick, we'll be preforming a new twist on a classic. A volunteer from the audience, who is not in on the trick, will climb in this box and me and my brother will put swords-" The blue clad girl gestured to a tray of swords Pacifica hadn't noticed, "through these holes." This time Dipper pointed out several slits in the front of the box.
"As you can see," The male twin said as he opened the box, "the box is empty. There are no hidden compartments," Mabel stuck her hand in the box and moved it around. "and no mirrors."
"Now, if we could please have anyone who wishes to volunteer raise their hand…" Pacifica's hand shot up, almost of its own accord, along with most of the crowd.
As the twins scanned the crowd, Dipper's eyes landed on her and her face heated under the intense blue gaze. He moved on to continue scanning the crowd, but Pacifica's blush did not fade.
"You, in the back, with the red shirt and the glasses." Mabel called out, beckoning someone onstage. The man climbed up on stage and turned to face the audience, giving a small bow at Dipper's behest. He stepped into the box, and Mabel closed it slowly.
The twins took turns sliding swords into the box, until no more remained on the tray.
Dipper spun the box around while Mabel did some gesturing, and then they began pulling the swords out. The stone on Mabel's headband shone like a precious gem, and Dipper kept adjusting his tie, which had a matching stone.
Once all the swords had been removed, the man stepped out of the box, head hung.
Mabel giggled slightly, and Dipper grinned.
"It seems our volunteer is a little tired, here, why don't you bow to the audience and then head backstage for some water and rest?" Dipper suggested, and the man raised his head and nodded, looking a little pale. He bowed deeply and Mabel kept a hand on his back as she guided him behind the blue curtain that the twins had emerged from.
"Did that man look a little…off to you?" Gideon asked Pacifica in a whisper, and the blonde girl startled slightly, and shook her head as if to clear it.
"I guess, but I mean, even if he was in on the trick, having swords pushed into a box around you has to be a little nerve wracking." She assured her cousin, staring distractedly at Dipper as he and Mabel began announcing the next trick. Gideon did not look convinced, but sat back in his seat and remained quiet for the rest of the show.
"That was fun!" Pacifica exclaimed as they walked out of the show, and Gideon elbowed her in the side.
"Yeah, you got to spend an hour ogling Dipper, of course you had fun." She made a face and shoved him away as he laughed, faking outrage.
"I did not!" She huffed, and Gideon laughed harder.
"Besides, I wasn't the only one. I saw you watching Mabel." She retorted, and Gideon blushed.
"I was not! I was-The tricks were very interesting. I don't understand how they did some of them…"
Pacifica and Gideon asked if they could go to a second show, but both Preston and Priscilla shook their heads sadly, and the kids relented.
The next year however, Gideon came for another visit, and this time the entire family went to see the Gleefuls as a family outing.
Though Priscilla still had some reservations about the moral stature of the Gleeful family, she was mostly mollified by the twins charming attitudes on stage, and of course by the impressive, almost otherworldly, tricks the twins preformed.
The main act for this show was different from the last one the cousins had been to. The twins didn't invite a volunteer onstage, instead they chose members of the audience and told them to ask the twins questions about the person that they wouldn't know.
Pacifica asked Mabel what Pacifica's favorite dress was, and Mabel told her it was the blue one with rhinestones that she'd gotten the week previous.
Pacifica squealed and Gideon smiled nervously at her.
"What's wrong?" She asked, and Gideon shook his head.
"I mean, it's a bit creepy, isn't it? How did she know that?"
"She probably saw me buy it or something and took a guess." Gideon nodded.
Gideon dragged them up to the stage as the show ended, hoping to catch the twins attention.
Mabel noticed him and smiled, tapping her brother on the shoulder.
"H-hi." Gideon stammered, then drew a breath.
"I was hoping I could ask you how you do some of your tricks? I just can't figure some of them out." This made both the twins grin wider, and Mabel winked at the blonde boy.
"Sorry, but if we gave out our secrets that would ruin the magic. Come back in a few summers though, and we might be able to find a job for you."
The cousins went again the next year, and Gideon did get a summer job at the tent, though he still complained about not being able to figure out how the twins did their tricks.
They went twice as a celebration of Pacifica's 18th birthday, and after the show Gideon ducked away to speak to Mabel, promising to be back for dinner.
Dinner came and went and Pacifica trudged back to the tent, assuming her cousin had got caught up talking to someone or working. She ducked through the flap in the front and made her way backstage.
"Gideon?" Pacifica called into the dark hallway.
"Gideon? Where are you?" She called again, still no response.
She took a deep breath and walked into the hall, frowning.
She walked and walked, for much longer than the single tent the shows were held in should have allowed.
After several minutes, she saw an open doorway and a figure standing in the room.
"Hello. I'm looking for my cousin, can you…" But she stopped when she got closer. Even in the dim light she could see that the figure's clothes were wet and stained dark red.
The figure shifted to the side and Pacifica's eyes flew wide.
Then Dipper, coated in her cousin's blood, turned to face her.
He smiled.
