Please review and enjoy!
(sorry for uploading again, not not sure if anyone can see this chapter, I got an email saying chapter 8 uploaded yesterday, Oct.31, but I'm not seeing anything when I check; sorry for the inconvenience).
{Yugi to Yami}
[Yami to Yugi]
Chapter 7
Once the words "Ok Yugi, lead the way," left Gohan's mouth, Yugi had dragged him all the way to Burger World. While Gohan could have easily stopped him, he was quite surprise with the strength Yugi was pulling him with. Just knowing him for a week, physical strength wasn't something Gohan would describe Yugi with. I wonder, Gohan thought, if Yugi realizes how strong he really is. I would say his power level is around Jounouchi's, but from what his friends tell me he doesn't like violence or fighting. I didn't like fighting either, but my power level was stronger than Yugi's as a kid. Could it be that since he never trained his, power level went down with time or something else . . .? Before he could think more on the matter, Yugi announce their arrival.
"We're here!" Yugi shouted excitedly, he lead Gohan in, where both were greeted by a female server, dress in a lime green button up shirt and dark green skirt.
"Welcome to Burger World," the server said, "Please follow me to your booth." As she was leading them to one of the booths in the front area, Yugi stopped her.
"Oh, I was wondering if we could sit in the booth in the back?"
"Are you sure you and your older brother want that kid?" The server gave them a skeptical look. "Wifi sucks there and once your seated you won't be able to change booths."
"Yes," Yugi happily replied, then giving the server an annoyed look, "and I'm not a kid, I'm 16. We're both classmates!" The server didn't reply and quickly showed them to their booth (Yugi had a funny feelings she was quietly laughing at him). Once they were seated, Yugi order his usual, Gohan order than same thing, but asked for 2 servings.
Once the server left, there was nothing but silence from both parties, but for different reasons. Yugi was still over the moon with learning that Gohan had a tail just like him and was waiting on him to tell him what a "Saiyan" was. Gohan on the other hand, had no idea what to tell him. His mind, racing with different scenarios on how to explain what a Saiyan is. After another minute pass, Gohan took a deep breath and calmed his mind like Piccolo taught him; he decided asking simple questions was the best starting point.
"So who did you inhered your tail from? Your mom or dad?"
"My dad," the excitement Yugi once had finally deflated, "His name was Kinoko . . . he died when I was a baby. . . you wouldn't happen to have heard about my him by chance?"
"I'm sorry, but no. There might be someone who has heard of him, but," an image of an angry Vegeta flash before Gohan's eyes . . . "he's the type of person to talk with his fist. I would ask for you, but I've never met another Saiyan and he'll want to know where I came across that name. Saiyans are a warrior race, so he'll want to "test" your strength before he gives you any answers." Yugi didn't like the sound of this Vegeta, but what caught his attention was "warrior race", what did Gohan mean by that?
"'Warrior race', what do you mean by that? Are Saiyans not from Japan?" Maybe Africa, my mom did say that's where she met my dad.
"Your right, they're not from Japan or anywhere on Earth . . . . Saiyans are aliens from the planet Vegeta." Yugi gave Gohan a weird and hurtful look. "I know it sounds crazy," Gohan quickly added, he didn't want Yugi thinking he was making fun of him, "and if the roles were reverse, I wouldn't believe it either, but please listen-." Gohan paused, he looked to Yugi and waited for his reply, he didn't want to dump anymore info on the poor boy if Yugi wanted nothing to do with it. Hesitantly Yugi nodded his head.
"Like I was saying, Saiyans are aliens from the planet Vegeta; they look like humans except for the tail. While it may seem like another appendage, the tail can affect Saiyans during the full moon." Gohan didn't want to tell him about the oozaru just yet. Even though Yugi gave his approval to continue, he didn't think Yugi could handle another surprise just yet. "There are other differences too, but aren't visible. Saiyans are a lot stranger than humans, both in strength and durability (but can become weak if they don't train). They also have an abnormal thirst for battles; which is why they are know as a warrior race. In fact they were one of the strongest in the universe because of that battle lust and a zenkai boost (power increase) after near death injuries."
"Its similar for us half-Saiyan too, however that doesn't mean we have the same love of fighting as our dad's, it's just geared towards something else and not as consuming. Like for me, it's education. I can become obsessed with learning, and not doing anything else(*1). When I was younger, I would wake my mom and dad up at midnight because I wanted to them to read me more stories or teach me new things. Heh, it got to the point where my mom threaten to stop making my favorite food to get me to quit . . . So does any of this sound familiar. . . ?"

Yami was very tempted to play yami no yugi with Gohan, how dare he make fun of Yugi. For the past week, Yugi has been running himself ragged trying to find any answers about his father, and here he was talking about aliens. The only reason he didn't switch was because Gohan seem to believe the crazy stuff he was saying.
Obviously Yugi started telling Gohan that he was wrong, telling him he wasn't strong, got beat up a lot as a kid, plus he hated any type of violence and fighting. Gohan on the other hand kept insisting he was half-Saiyan and asked him to go into detail about certain events in his life. Like if his been to the hospital/doctors after any of his beating by bullies, the moon, or anything he obsessed over. At first, Yami agreed with Yugi, he was just a regular human kid . . . but . . . as they talked more things were slowing making sense.
Yami looked back to all the fights he's been in with Yugi, and he never once had to visit the doctor. Sure, the same thing could be said about Jonouchi, but once finding out about his . . . father, there was a reason why he never went. How could he forget and Ushio, Honda didn't come to school for 2 days after the beating he gave all three of them (Honda even gave any left over pain killers to Jonouchi)(*2). In fact, Yugi's bruises were the first to go. Unless Ushio was holding his punches (doubtful), Yugi should have been in worst shape between the three of them.
Than there was the moon, Yugi claimed he had a light sensitivity from the moon which caused him to have really bad headaches that made him angry, but while taking over his body, he tended to forget Yugi's sunglasses at night. The moon never bother him, except that one time, where there was a full-moon. He had helped Yugi's friend Hanasaki from his father's stupidity. The vandals wanted more money from Hanasaki's father and were willing to hurt his son in order to get their way. Yami saved them by creating a maze of fire (using spray paint and a lit cigarette butt as a fuse) that would lead them to the water, and away from him. But while creating his maze, he had looked at the moon, and was instantly hit with this beastly doesn't like to think about it, but he had used his shadow magic and made the flames grow and burn hotter, preventing the vandals to actually leave the flaming maze. He's not sure how, but he had a moment of clarity and release his magic. Although not the most sanest during that time, even he knew he went over board; he never forgot his glasses after that.
Finding something that Yugi obsessed over was a bit harder to find. While Yami would never look through Yugi's memories without permission, he did retain some memories that he looked through, when he though he was Yugi's darker half. It was Yugi at the age of 4, waking up his Grandpa at 3 in the morning, demanding he play Go Fish. Similar to Gohan, Yugi's mothers threaten to stop making his favorite food (hamburgers) for a whole month if he didn't stop, which he did.
All of the pieces were lining up for Yami, he was still a bit doubtful, but, if Yugi truly is half-alien, it would make no difference to him. Plus, he was, a 3,000 year old spirit with no memories, once trapped in a puzzle, and occasionally (with permission) takes over Yugi's body . . . he probably wasn't the best one to argue the existence of aliens.
Yami showed his conclusions to Yugi, letting him know that Gohan could be on to something, but to his surprised, Yugi had blocked him, but he must have seen his thoughts because all of a suddenly Yugi radiated fear and panic.

Yugi suddenly stood up, "I- I'm sorry Gohan, but I have to go . . . um I promised my Grandpa that I would help him with the game store," he said a quick goodbye and ran out the door.
"Yugi! Wait," Gohan had chased after Yugi, (lucky for him he caught him just outside of the restaurant). "Look," he told a fearful Yugi, "I'm not going to claim I know what your going through. I found out at an young age, and could adapt being a half-alien a bit better. Plus getting kidnapped by your Saiyan Uncle-"
"You were Kidnapped!"
"Shhh!" Gohan quickly cover his mouth, "There is a reason why I didn't tell you everything, and this is one of the reason. Like I said before, I'm willing to tell you everything, but it has to be at your house or mine. However if you to come to my home, I want to meet your "puzzle" friend." After that comment, Yugi looked even more scared, Gohan place both of his hands in front of him in a worry gesture, "A lot of crazy stuff has happen to me, so your "friend" doesn't bother me. But, with my past, it would be crazy to invite someone I've never met. You don't have to give me an answer right away. Here," Gohan took out a scape piece of paper and pen from his school bag, "this is my number, call me or text if you need anything." Yugi took the paper and silently walked home.
[Yugi are you alright? . . . If you're worry that I'll think of you differently because you turn out to be half-alien that is false, you'll always be my friend . . . Abiou?]
. . . . . .
{I'm sorry Yami, I don't feel like talking right now}
[Ok, Yugi]
No more words were exchange after that.

(*1): I know that Chi-Chi was pretty hard on Gohan when it comes to his education in canon, and it seems to me it was place there for comical effect. But the way I see it (and for this story), Chi-Chi saw his love for education and gave him the tools to learn (but made sure he had some downtime). She only became obsessed after the Saiyans attack. Basically it was her way of protecting Gohan and trying to keep him away from all of the life/death battles going on, not realizing how much pressure she was putting on him.
(*2) I know this didn't happen, but I'm adding it anyway.
