You and Jay rode together to the venue hall along with ChaCha, Gray, Dominic, and Loco, and you were overjoyed that Trina chose to meet Jay at the location rather than carpool.
Your favorite part of working at AOMG was being backstage before the show hyping everyone up for the performance. No matter the mood of the day, or any fights and disagreements that happened earlier, everyone came together to put on an amazing show for the fans, and you were just happy to be a part of it.
Everything went as planned when you arrived to the hall. The technicians were setting up the lights and putting up barriers near the stage, and ChaCha's equipment had been unloaded and set near the DJ booth for him to sort through, and he quickly got started on his setup for mic checks and sound checks. You and Jay joked around with the dancers once backstage, and you had almost completely forgotten about how hurt you felt seeing Jay and Trina together earlier that afternoon. He couldn't possibly be that serious over someone he had JUST met, right?
"Hey Y/N, how do I look?" Jay interrupted your troubling thoughts to show you his outfit he put together. You knew it was for her.
"Hmmm, well, it depends. What's the occasion?" You leaned back against an open space on the wall to examine his clothing choices closer.
"Trina. She's coming tonight...hopefully more ways than one." He licked his lips and gave a devilish grin you knew all too well.
"Eww Jay! I didn't need to know that!" You covered your ears to spare yourself of any additional details. Jay always knew how to make you squirm, and his sexual escapades was definitely one way. You brushed past him and to an open chair at one of the tables in the lounge.
"Oh come on, Y/N! It's not like me and you are sharing a hotel room and you have to hear it." He laughed, amused by your disgust and followed you over to the table.
"You're not really going to have sex with her, are you?" You pryed. You held your breath and prayed that the answer would be no.
"I don't know, Y/N," he lowered himself to sit ontop of the table facing you, but not making direct eye contact,"she's...different, ya know? She's not like these other girls."
"Oh, so you mean only her boobs are fake and not her ass?" You mentally gave yourself a high five for such a quick and well thought out snap back.
Jay looked at you, clearly unimpressed with your joke- "Why do you care anyway? Don't you want me to find someone to settle down with and have a family?"
Of course you did, but why did it have to be with anyone other than you?! This was it. You knew you needed to speak up about your feelings for him, especially if he was considering sleeping with Trina.
"Your happiness means more than anything to me, Jay, but...maybe there's someone out there who might be...I don't know...better?" You lowered your eyes to your twirling thumbs that fidgeted with a piece of your frayed jeans.
"Someone better, huh? Like who?" You met each other's eyes and you felt your heart melt on contact. You struggled to speak, and Jay's eyes widened at you waiting for an answer.
"Like...like...m-"
"OH MY GOD! JAY BABY!" That all to familiar high pitched voice could've caused you to commit murder. Trina burst through the door with her arms outstretched and running toward Jay. Her heels made her almost as tall as him, and you could tell that her dress was brand new, courtesy of Jay Park himself. Trina brought a friend and quickly introduced her and Jay to each other before wrapping her arms around his neck and spoiling his lips with one kiss after another.
"Hey guys, we go on in 10! Let's huddle up!" the choreographer shouted from the other room. Jay led Trina and her friend to the viewing area backstage before quickly jogging back over to the group huddle. You were mentally beating yourself up over not being able to say what was on your mind, but what use would that do? You didn't want to throw Jay off his game for the show tonight, so part of you was also glad that you hadn't said anything.
"Alright y'all! Let's go out there and KILL IT!" The music from the speakers blared through the venue and the show began. You decided to not play nice with Trina tonight and sat on the other side of the backstage area away from her and her friend.
The show went off without a hitch and the fans were all going wild mostly due to Jay taking off his shirt and throwing it out into the crowd like he normally did at his shows.
"Great show tonight guys! Now let's go TURN UP!" Jay was in an even better mood than he normally was after a performance. Reservations were set for the VIP section at the cities hottest club, and after freshening up, everyone headed out for a good time.
Trina was all over Jay and grinding on him as soon as you all made it up to the VIP section.
You leaned over to Dominic and Loco, "What did Jay say this girls profession was again? I don't remember hiring an exotic dancer." You sipped your drink and returned to pouting in the corner enviously watching Jay and Trina.
"Ya know, if you had told Jay how you were feeling about him, that could be you over there instead of her." Loco spoke up, and you knew he was right, as always.
"I TRIED! Ugh, but 'hooker heels' over there came in and interrupted the moment. Gosh, I wish he would just drop her already." You had never been so bothered by the bimbos Jay always around, but something about this girl just didn't sit right with you, and you wanted her gone.
"How about this" Dominic began, "I'll see if I can get Trina and her friend to come to the bar with me so you can swoop in and talk to Jay. But, you'll have to make it fast." You nodded, feeling the nerves build up in your stomach as Dominic stood and made his way over to Jay and Trina. Surprisginly, the girls willingly left with Dominic leaving Jay alone with his head leaned back against the couch. You hurried over once the coast was clear and sat down next to him.
"Having fun?" You asked. Jay lifted his head and smiled at you.
"How can you tell?" He grinned.
"Jay, there's something I really need to tell you, and I know this may sound crazy.." Jay lifted his head more to look at you. His gaze made the nerves run rampant through your entire body.
"What is it? Is everything okay, Y/N?" The concern in his voice left your heart feeling warm. He reached for your hand and held it in his. He had done this many times before to help bring comfort to you during your stressful times, but this felt different. Admitting your feelings could mean that hand holding would would be more than just for comfort, or, if things didn't go well, you could lose this forever.
"You can tell me anything." He spoke again, this time looking deeper into your eyes, bringing his body back upright. Without thinking, your body began leaning in more towards Jay, and his body mimicked your actions. You were within centimeters of each others faces as your eyes closed and your lips threatened to graze against Jay's. Was this it? Did he want kiss you just as badly as you wanted to kiss him?
"Get off of my man, BITCH!" Yours and Jay's bodies snapped back up in an upright position, and you stood to your feet, turning to run out of the club. You pushed through the crowds of people trying to escape the embarrassment.
"Y/N! Y/N! Wait up!" You heard Dominic yelling behind you. You pushed through the final grouping of people and out the doors that led to the parking lot.
"Y/N! Hey! What the hell was that?! What happened?!" Dominic finally caught up to you and grabbed your shoulder to turn you to look at him.
"I- I- I- don't know Dom. One minute I was speaking perfect English to him, and the next minute...my tongue wanted to speak French! God, I'm such an idiot!" You paced back and forth infront of Dom pulling at your hair.
"Look, calm down, Y/N. Everyone is kind of intoxicated right now, but I'm sure this will all be forgotten by tomorrow morning." Dom tried his best to reassure you.
"Yeah right! Trina saw me and Jay. No amount of Cosmopolitan's or shots can make that sight go away." You were on the verge of tears from being so worked up over the whole situation.
Dominic gave you a minute before resting his hand on your shoulder, stopping you from pacing- "Do you need me to call a car to come pick you up and take you back to the hotel?"
"No. I'll walk." You responded with little effort.
"Don't be ridiculous, Y/N. I'm getting you an Uber." You gave in knowing that Dom or any of the other guys wouldn't leave you alone unless you complied.
The Uber ride was short. The driver pulled up to the front of the hotel, and when your door opened, you were immediately recognized by a vaguely familiar face standing in the front of the hotel valet.
"Y/N, right?" It was Tom Wilson, the radio executive from the other day.
"Yeah. Tom Wilson. So good to see you again." You shook his hand and tried to regain your professionalism after having a few drinks.
"I heard one of my employees is dating Jay. Is that right?" Ugh. How was this Trina girl always coming up?
"Umm, I guess so. She's one of your employees?"
"Well, she was, but she turned in her notice and decided to quit today so now I'm a little short handed in the office." You could read the stress in his voice.
"Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that. Is there anything I can do?"
"Here's my card. If you know anyone that might be looking for employment, tell them to give me a call. But, I better get going. Got a hot date tonight!" You smiled and said your goodbyes and headed inside of the building.
You made it to your room and looked over Tom's card he had given you. You tucked the card into your purse and laid on your hotel bed letting the wave of intoxication wash over you as you started to fall asleep dreaming of the kiss that could have been with Jay.
