4 hours of sleep and a pounding headache later, you were up and ready to leave this godforsaken city behind along with Trina and whatever else could go wrong this last leg of the tour. Luckily you had packed all of your belongings up the day before and didn't have much to do this morning besides down a few aspirins and a Gatorade. The time on your phone read 9:45 AM and checkout was at 11. You jumped in the shower, got dressed and started making some wake-up calls for the crew so you could check out on time and load up on the tour bus. Everyone answered except for Jay. You tried begging Loco and Gray to go knock on his hotel door, but they declined your offer leaving you to face the music of last night's events on your own.

You stood outside of Jay's door trying to collect your thoughts and remain strong for when you saw him. Deep breath, Y/N. It's just Jay. Maybe Gray was right and everything has been forgotten.

You prepare yourself to knock, but before your knuckles could make contact with the door, you heard a noise coming from the other side. Laughter. Your heart sank. You turned to walk away realizing that Jay was not alone inside of the room, but the sudden gust of air from the force of the door being pulled open stopped you in your tracks.

Jay stood shirtless, leaned up against the door holding it open, and with one of his arms wrapped around Trina. They kissed in-between their childish giggles and all you could do was stare. Jay finally noticed you out of the corner of his eye and looked at you as if he had just seen a ghost.

"Hey." He swallowed, looking at you nervously. Trina eyed you like you were the scum of the Earth. Lower than that. The scum of the scum of the Earth. Like she wanted to step on you and throw the shoe away.

"Hey." You replied, looking down at the carpet of the hallway.

"I'll see you later, baby." Trina gave Jay one last peck on the lips before heading to the elevator. It remained quiet between the two of you before Jay finally broke the silence-

"Do you...umm, want to come in?" He offered.

"Yeah, I- I think we should probably talk now that you're alone." Jay nodded and stepped aside allowing you to walk in to the room.

The bed was disheveled and you already knew what had occurred between him and Trina. How much longer did you want to put yourself through this?

"So.." Jay started, finding a seat on the edge of the bed while you stood near the TV stand.

"So, what?" You responded.

"You already know, Y/N. Last night. You tried to kiss me infront of Trina."

"I wasn't trying to kiss you infront of her.."

"Then what were you trying to do?" You hesitated for a moment. You could see the anger in his eyes, and the curiosity in his body language. "Hello?"

"I was...I was hoping that if you kissed me, then you wouldn't want to kiss Trina." You closed your eyes, afraid to look at Jay's face. He didn't speak. The room grew increasingly still and made you uncomfortable by the second. You opened your eyes and saw Jay with his head in his hands and his fingers raked through his hair.

"Aren't you going to say anything?" You questioned. You felt half-relieved finally getting this admission off your chest.

"I'm confused, Y/N." Jay moved his hands to the back of his neck and lifted his eyes back to yours. How could he be confused? You thought you were being very straightforward. You felt yourself becoming annoyed with his oblivion of what you were trying to say.

"Of course you're confused. I bet if I were Trina you'd probably understand real well, wouldn't you?" You snipped back. You weren't sure where this comment had come from, but you are already in too deep to turn back.

"What the hell is that supposed to mean?!" Jay stood up, still keeping his distance from you.

"It means that you're so far up Trina's ass that you couldn't see real love standing right infront of y-. You know what, just forget it. I can't wait to get out of this city so you can leave her behind and get back to being the old Jay." At this point you were fuming and didn't care what came out of your mouth next. You crossed your arms infant of your chest.

Jay got quiet again and rubbed the back of his neck with his hand-"Actually, that's what I need to talk to you about. I, uh, invited Trina to join me for the rest of the tour. She's going home to pack now."

"You did WHAT?!" Your eyebrows furrowed at how stupid Jay was being. "Why would you do that?! She's ruining everything!" You threw your hands up in an act of surrender to the universe that was kicking your ass.

"I knew it." Jay calmly spoke.

"Knew what?"

"You don't care about my happiness. You only care about whatever it is that you want. And now, you're mad because I'm not sticking to the confines of your little schedule." Jay scoffed at you thinking he had won.

"Please tell me you're joking right now." You balled your fists and let your fingernails squeeze the palm of your hands.

Jay twisted his tongue around in his mouth with a cocky look on his face, not speaking a word.

"Listen here Jay, and you better listen good. I have been nothing but supportive of you and your career since the day I met you. I've been there for you through it all. Every single setback, every single bimbo...I've been there ready to comfort you and encourage you to get back up and try again. But you. You throw me to the wayside as soon as any girl with perky breasts and a short dress shows you even the slightest of interest. Don't you get it? They're just using you! And, I hate to break it to you, but so is Trina. There's nothing new or special about her besides her area code. And to think-I told her you weren't a dense guy, but clearly that was a lie."

"Dense?!" Jay stepped closer to you, closing in the small gap that was barely there before. "You think I'm dense?! Wow! And this is coming from the girl who hasn't had a boyfriend since her first year of college! Shouldn't throw stones when you live in a glass house yourself, Y/N." Jay shot back.

"Good one Jay. But who's really the dense one? Me? Or the guy who couldn't catch the hint that his best friend is in love with him?!" You looked dead in his eyes, not backing down even though his eyes seemed to soften at your words. His mouth hanging open in shock.

"Wha-wh-what did you just say?" His calm voice was back, but you weren't hiding back in your comfort shell anymore.

"Yeah. That's right. I love you, Jay. I've always loved you. Not just as a friend. More. But, I guess I'm the idiot for not saying something sooner to you. Seeing you with Trina is the hardest thing to do, and...knowing that it isn't me is even worse." Jay backed up from his hovering and intimidating position over you. Your eyes were brimmed with tears and glossed over. "And, now I find out that you've invited her to spend the rest of the tour with you, and honestly Jay, I'm tired of hurting. I've done enough." Your voice cracked all throughout your talking, but you held strong to finish.

"You love me?" Jay's voice was quiet and you could tell he was in disbelief. You had never yelled at him like this before, or spoken so passionately.

"Yeah. Yeah, I do." Jay's phone started to buzz and you caught a glimpse of Trina's name on the screen. But, Jay didn't pick up the phone. You grew tired of the long silence that followed.

"I should go. Before Trina gets back. I don't want her thinking I'm trying to steal 'her man' again. We need to be out of these rooms by 11. The bus will be here soon." You turned to leave as Jay caught your arm, spinning you back toward him.

"Why did you never tell me?" He questioned. You pulled your arm from his grasp.

"What difference would it have made, Jay?" His eyes shifted to the ground. That answer was all you needed to move on.

"I'll see you downstairs." You opened the door and made your way back to your room.

The time was now 10:45AM, and you your adrenaline was still peaking from your shouting match with Jay. The secret was out, and Jay's response was not what you had hoped it to be. What did you expect? Did you want Jay to scoop you up in his arms and carry you into a happily ever after?

You asked yourself again how long were you going to let yourself hurt over this fantasy? You sat at the edge of your hotel bed contemplating your next move.

You reached for your purse and fumbled through the scattered items, pulling out the card from Tom Wilson. You scanned the cardstock for a phone number and pulled out your phone, copying the digits down. You held the phone to your ear as the ringing faintly echoed through the silent room.

"Hello? Tom Wilson here." Came the voice on the other end.

"Hi Tim, this is Y/N, Jay Park's Assistant. Umm, I'm calling because I think I may have found the perfect person for that open job position, and they're available to start right now."
