I do not own Danny Phantom or H2O: Just Add Water or any characters from other franchises I may mention. This story is based off of Flower princess11's story The Many Dates of Danny Fenton if Danny had chosen Cleo Sertori. If you have not read it, check it out!

"You must be kidding me…" Cleo Sertori glared at her friends. She was a pretty Australian girl with brunette hair and hazel eyes. Her two blonde haired, blue eyed friends Emma Gilbert and Rikki Chadwick were trying to convince her to visit a booth at the Amity Park Mall with a sign above it that read You + Me=LOVE!.

"Come on Cleo. This seems like fun," Emma begged. She had invited her friends to come with her on a trip to visit her uncle in the United States in an attempt to relax, blow off steam, and avoid some problems back home.

You see, Cleo, Emma, and Rikki were all secretly mermaids from Australia. Although they hadn't been born that way. Several months ago while on an island off the coast of their hometown in Queensland, the girls had stumbled across a cave with a magic pool that turned them into mermaids, all with unique abilities. They loved being mermaids, but dealing with their new powers and avoiding revealing their secret was extremely difficult, especially since they would turn back into their mermaid forms if they got too wet.

They had actually been captured by a scientist and thought they would be experimented on not long ago. Luckily, the girls had tricked the people who captured them into thinking they had given up their powers. To keep the illusion going that there were no longer any mermaids around, the three friends were visiting the States, hoping that an additional 2 months without risking being seen as mermaids would help sell the story.

"She's right Cleo. We're all stunning single ladies! Let's have some fun with these Yanks while we are Stateside," Rikki encouraged her shy friend.

"This had better not be about Lewis…" Cleo sighed. Lewis was her ex-boyfriend. She had known him since she was little, and he was one of the only people who knew her and her friends secret. In fact, he had helped save them when they were kidnapped. At first things had been great for the couple, but Lewis had started being extremely overprotective. When Cleo had asked him to give her more space and trust her more, Lewis had actually gotten spiteful, claiming she wasn't grateful for everything he had done for them. Cleo eventually had enough and broke up with him. Ever since then she had been depressed, which was something else this trip was supposed to help with, but had thus far been unsuccessful.

The other two mermaids looked at each other before Emma put her hands on Cleo's shoulders. "It is a bit. But it's not just Lewis. Rikki and I broke up with Zane and Byron too. We could all use something new to take our minds off our exs. So why not other boys?"

"We're not expecting to fall in love, no matter what they are advertising. But it will be a good way to spend our time while we are here, and open some of us to new experiences when we do go back home," Rikki said with an accusing look. Cleo blushed at the comment, but didn't argue. She really was tired of obsessing over Lewis, and it was true that the others were in the same boat.

The brunette sighed in defeat before giving them both a smile. "Alright! You win. But if any of these boys get too handsy, I will make you regret it."

"Yes! Alright, let's go!" Emma cheered, pushing Cleo toward the booth before she could change her mind.

"Hi, we'd like to sign up please," Rikki said to the tall young brunette man with bright blue eyes at the You + Me=Love! booth. She looked at the man's name tag and quirked her head in confusion. "SkyTotem…?"

SkyTotem grinned. "Yeah. Management had the interesting idea that everyone here goes by a username for confidentiality. You ladies will use one as well until you meet your dates."

"Huh, that's kinda cool I guess," Emma said as he handed them all forms to fill out. All three mermaids quickly agreed to use their name with "of the Sea" as their usernames for obvious reasons.

Rikki and Emma got through their forms pretty fast, but Cleo was too unsure to decide on how to describe herself. In the end, Rikki wrote Cleo's physical description and Emma filled in her personality. They both refused to fill out what she was looking for, insisting she decide it for herself before she ended up with the wrong type of guy. Cleo having only ever dated Lewis, didn't want to put his description down, but could not decide on what she did want. In the end, she decided to just be truthful on what she was feeling.

"'I just got out of a relationship and right now, I just want a nice, calm, simple guy that I can get along with'? That should really have the boys lining up," Rikki nudged her friend playfully.

"Shut it…" Cleo blushed before handing her form to SkyTotem. "Sorry for the wait."

"No problem. We want you to be honest as possible on these. It's the only way you will find who you're meant to be with," he smiled back as he took her paper. He typed a few things into his computer before turning back to the girls. "Alright ladies, you are all set. Be sure and check your emails tonight for your first date, and good luck to you."

"Wicked! I can't wait to go out with some of these cool American boys," Emma smiled as they started heading for the exit. Unbeknownst to the three mermaids, a young African American boy in a red beret heard her and looked back at the booth. He took one more look at the three cute, obviously foreign girls before he knew he had to join up too.

"Alright! Everyone ready for their last dates of the service?" Rikki said as she and her friends gathered at the front door.

"Are you guys sure we should do this? There is a pretty high chance of rain today…" Cleo said nervously.

"So bring your umbrella. You are not getting out of this on a technicality," Emma scolded the brunette. "Look, we are on our last day. You've had some good dates and bad dates. Let's at least see this through to the end, right?"

Cleo sighed, but nodded. The three mermaids each gave each other a hug and wished the others luck before going their separate ways. As Cleo made her way toward her date, she thought back on her past month. Emma was right, there had been plenty of good dates, though she had never met anyone above a 7. A lot of the boys had been nice and fun, just none of them stood out in the right way, and she had been really put off by her last two dates. Jocks and flirts who expected her to throw herself at them. She was beginning to think that towards the end they might be scraping the bottom of the barrel.

Cleo was admittedly glad that her date today had allowed her to pick their location. Everyone else she had gone out with had decided on pretty much everything, so that was at least one point in his favor. She had wanted to visit the aquarium since coming to Amity Park, but after they signed up for the dating service, had never had the chance. She climbed out of her cab and checked her heart sticker.

"Here we go…" the mermaid said, taking a deep breath and stepping toward the entrance. Luckily it didn't seem like there were many people there and she almost immediately noticed a dark haired young boy holding a bouquet of flowers. 'Could he be…?'

"Excuse me…?" she asked. The boy turned around and smiled and Cleo was pleased that he was definitely on the cuter side. He was just a little taller than her and had bright blue eyes. He was casually dressed in jeans and a white and red t-shirt where she saw the pink heart sticker. "You wouldn't happen to be D-Fenton, would you…?"

"Yeah... You must be 'Cleo of the sea...'"He smiled.

"Just Cleo would do..." she replied, smiling back at him.

"Sure and you can call me Danny. These are for you..." Danny said as he handed her the flowers.

"Thank you, they are pretty..."Cleo said and was surprised when he opened the door for her.

"After you..."Danny said with a slight bow.

Cleo blushed and giggled, before walking inside. The girl was actually extremely hopeful now. Danny had already made the best first impression of any of her dates with how thoughtful he had been. Maybe she could end this month on a high note after all.

Things had been going so well! Danny was cute, friendly, and they were having such a good time getting to know each other. So much so that Cleo had completely forgotten her umbrella by the door at the aquarium as they started walking to the restaurant for lunch. She hadn't even looked up to see the storm clouds overhead. That is until she heard the thunder…

Now her worst fear had come true! As soon as the rain drops had hit her, Cleo had been changed into her mermaid form. She was sprawled out on the grass, completely helpless. The rain continued to fall on her, leaving no hope of her getting dry and changing back. Even if she could somehow manage to drag her tail fin and crawl to shelter, she was in the middle of a park. She was fortunate that there were no other people around right now to avoid the rain, but she had just been changed right in front of her date, and there was no hiding that.

" Please… Please… I can explain everything but… please…" Cleo begged as she looked up at Danny from the ground. The boy's face was unreadable. He had obviously been stunned when he saw her change, but now the look on his face was surprisingly neutral. She could only assume he was trying to decide what to do with her. After several seconds that seemed to drag on forever, Danny reacted. And it wasn't in any way that she was expecting.

He shrugged.

"Oh whatever, what's one more person…?"

Cleo could only blink in surprise as Danny took a step closer.

"Cleo, I'm going to help you get out of here but first I need you to trust me… Do you trust me…?" Danny asked as he extended his hand to her.

Cleo didn't know what to say. Danny appeared unbelievably calm and he seemed to want to help her. While Cleo was grateful, she didn't know what the boy could possibly do. But at the same time, she had no other choice. She placed her hand in his even though it was hopeless.

Until her mind was changed with a flash of light and she was scooped up in the arms of a white haired hero that carried her into the sky.

It was several hours later and a once again human Cleo and Danny were walking back to her Emma's uncle's house. Neither one of the teens could stop smiling. Cleo still couldn't believe that she was on a date with a boy who was half ghost! After he had whisked her away to the safety of a sea cave he had once found while fighting a ghost eel (too cool), they had told each other about their secret lives and how they had got their powers. When it was clear that the two could trust each other, Danny had actually asked her to spend the rest of their date under the sea.

Cleo could honestly say she had never had more fun in her life! Danny's powers allowed him to breathe and talk without the water affecting him. Rather than swim, Danny literally flew through the water, allowing him to keep up with Cleo's incredible speed in the water. Even the darkness didn't effect him, as he he said ghosts had natural night vision, so he could see just as well in the dark. The two supernatural teens spent hours splashing each other, admiring all the passing fish and even swimming with dolphins and sea turtles.

During this time, they both got to know each other more as they swam together and talked about some of the adventures they had each had. They would have gone on longer had Cleo's stomach not growled and they realized they had never stopped for lunch. Realizing how late it was getting, Danny once again took Cleo in his arms and flew her to the beach invisibly. He then used his intangibility to dry her in an instant and changed her back to her human form before changing back himself. Neither one quite ready to say goodbye, Danny offered to walk her home. Cleo happily agreed.

"Thank you again Danny. For everything…" Cleo said as they made it to the door, still not feeling like it was enough.

"Anytime… I know what it's like to be different so I was happy to help…" Danny said to the pretty mermaid girl.

"Still, thank you. You really saved me there. If it was anyone else, they would have freaked out or tried to sell me to some kind of lab but you didn't…" Cleo said, knowing from experience.

"Hey, we half humans have to stick together, right…?" Danny replied with a friendly grin.

"...right…" Cleo giggled nervously, her heart pounding in her chest at the thought of what she wanted to do.

"Well… I guess I had better-" before he could start to leave, the mermaid girl leaned in and kissed him on the cheek, making them both blush a bright red.

"That's my way of saying 'thank you' for saving me and being honest with me …"Cleo said, surprised with herself for being so forward. "And I promise that I'll never tell anybody about this…"

"And I promise that I'll keep this whole day just between you and me…" the halfa grinned back. Cleo smiled and before she even realized it, she had kissed him on the other cheek, which made Danny blush even more.

"Goodbye Danny… It was fun meeting you. And thanks again for everything…" Cleo said before she walked inside but not before waving to the boy who waved back. As soon as the girl was inside she leaned against the door and bit her lower lip to stifle a squeal of excitement.

"Cleo!" Emma came running up, clearly concerned, with Rikki right behind her. "Where have you been?! You were supposed to be back 2 hours ago and you weren't answering your phone! We were worried something happened!"

Rikki, however, had noticed Cleo's red face and bright smile. "Well from the look of it, it was something good. Guess we were worried over nothing."

Cleo tried not look her friends in the eye as she slipped past them to the kitchen for something to eat. "Sorry for worrying you guys. Danny and I just lost track of time…"

"Oooh, Danny…?" Emma said, completely forgetting her anger. The thought of Cleo having so much fun on a date she didn't even want to go on was far more interesting. "You had better tell us everything…"

Cleo blushed just a bit deeper. She hated that she couldn't tell her friends about Danny and his powers, but she had promised. And she understood the importance of secrets.

"Let's just say that I know who I'm picking. I definitely saved the best for last."

Well, originally I was going to hold off on this until I had got my feet wet (ha!) a little more. But I figured I should just dive in (HA!). Truth be told I am a bit new to H2O, but I'm working on changing that. I just really liked the idea behind this pairing though, not to mention the fact that Cleo was the only live action character that Danny was potentially paired with was an exciting concept. I hope I can do justice to Flower princess11 and all the source material. Tell me what you think, and I'll see you soon!
