A/N: This chapter covers two episodes of Supergirl due to the rewrites of episodes 3x12 and 3x13 being rather short.

Chapter 10

(D.E.O.)

"Worldkillers are still out there," Kara said, as she and Barry entered the D.E.O.

"The city has been quiet ever since you got back from Fort Rozz," J'onn said.

"Yeah, I mean, we've been trying to track Kryptonian heat signatures, but all we're coming up with is you, Conner, and your cousin," Winn added. He was sitting down at the computer with Tess standing next to him. "Which, I will say though is nice, because I know where Superman is."

"Wait, shouldn't the heat signatures read the Worldkillers the same way they're reading Kara, Conner, and Superman?" Barry asked.

"Yeah, but the Worldkillers are not like them," Mon-El stated, as he walked over. "They may have been created on Krypton, but these Worldkillers are not, strictly speaking, Kryptonian."

"Mon-El's right," J'onn agreed. "Nothing about them follows a pattern we recognize. Reign didn't need a yellow sun on Fort Rozz to retain her powers."

"Not to mention the way she just shrugged off that kryptonite like nothing," Conner recalled.

"Hey, maybe they were genetically modified," Winn suggested.

"That's a possibility," Tess pointed out. "On our Earth, we've dealt with a genetically modified Kryptonian called Doomsday. He was created for the specific purpose of being a living weapon powerful enough to actually kill ordinary Kryptonians."

"I remember Doomsday," Barry said, wincing at the reminder of being injured and rendered unconscious for hours by the behemoth.

"Good thing we got rid of that beast for good," Conner said, as he remembered him and Clark tossing Doomsday into the sun, causing the monster to explode due to absorbing too much solar radiation.

"The Legion's dealt with genetically modified Kryptonians as well," Mon-El added. "We've fought many hybrids that were created in labs designed to have maximum destruction."

"Well, Reign said she left Krypton right before it exploded," Kara pointed out. "If they've been here all this time, what have they been waiting for?"

Winn turned to the computer and brought up footage of Reign battling The Flash, Superboy, and The Legion at Albatross Bay. "Maybe for her."

"You know, when Krypton exploded, pods weren't the only thing that rained down on Earth," Mon-El said. "So did kryptonite. Yeah, Brainy had to track some of that green stuff down when the Legion battled Zod."

"Um, rewind, Zod?" Winn asked, getting up from his seat and looking at Mon-El incredulously. "Superman killed him, so... Um, was he resurrected? He was, but that... but that's the future, we talked about that. Uh, so you're saying basically that the kryptonite and the pods came at the same time."

"Maybe we can triangulate their position," Tess suggested. "Do you have satellite images and recordings of the meteorites that arrived here after Krypton's destruction?"

"Yeah," Winn nodded.

"I think I know where Ms. Mercer is going with this," J'onn said. "Agent Schott, see if you and Ms. Mercer can pull our records of those meteor showers and map their spray pattern. There might be a way we can locate exactly when these Worldkillers first arrived."

"On it," Winn said, as he and Tess headed off.

"Reign will be back," Kara said. "Soon."

"We'll be ready when she does," Barry said.

"What do you think she's doing?" J'onn asked.

"Well, wherever she is, she's planning her next move," Kara deduced.

(Later)

"What happened?" Alex asked urgently, as she, Barry, Conner, and Tess rushed over to where Kara and a group of medics were standing around Lena Luthor, who was lying on a gurney having seizures.

"Edge tried to poison her, it was in her coffee," Kara explained.

Alex and the medics placed an oxygen mask on Lena's face as they immediately worked to try and stabilize her.

"Lena?" Conner muttered, recognizing the woman on the gurney.

"You know this woman?" Tess asked.

"Tess, meet your local counterpart Lena Luthor," Conner answered.

"Oh, so this is her," Tess said, surprised. "I hope my doppelganger will be okay."

"I need to know what poison he used," Alex said to her sister.

"I... I don't know," Kara stammered, looking down at Lena with concern.

Alex listened to Lena's heart rate with a stethoscope for a few seconds and leaned down to sniff Lena's mask. "Almonds."

"Cyanide," Tess realized.

"How long it's been since she was poisoned?" Barry asked Kara.

"About two, three minutes," Kara answered.

"We don't have much time, we need to slow down her metabolism or she's not gonna make it," Barry said urgently, before thinking for a moment. "Kara, Conner, we need to induce hypothermia. One of you gotta..."

"I'll do it," Conner volunteered, moving closer to Lena. He used his freeze breath on Lena's body, stabilizing her as her body temperature and heart rate dropped to normal.

Kara sighed with relief and turned to Conner. "Thank you for saving her."

"No problem," Conner said.

(Evening, CatCo)

Lena groaned as she came to. She was lying on a couch, with James sitting beside her. Tess was sitting on the other couch, as she had volunteered to accompany Kara to CatCo and help her and James look after Lena, whom Tess was interested in meeting.

"What happened?" Lena asked.

"Hey, just take it easy, okay?" James said.

Kara walked over to Lena and handed her a glass of water.

Lena chuckled as she looked up at Kara. "I had the strangest dream. You were flying and you were carrying me."

"I was?" Kara asked, feigning surprise as she, James, and Tess chuckled. "Like Supergirl? That's... I wish."

Lena placed her hand to her temple. "Why do I feel like I've been hit by a truck?"

"Um, you were poisoned," Kara said, as she sat on the other couch next to Tess.

"It was the coffee," James added. "Kara reacted very quickly and the paramedics came and they gave you an antidote. They said you need to rest."

One person immediately came to Lena's mind. "It was Edge, wasn't it?"

"Yeah," Kara nodded.

"Has he been arrested?" Lena asked.

"No," James answered. "He didn't do it himself, he hired a hitman. And now that hitman is dead."

"So Edge is gonna get away scot-free again?" Lena asked, with disgust.

"For now," Kara said, apologetically.

Lena stood up, frustrated. "You know, Reign was right. Scumbags like Edge need to be put down, okay? He wants a war, then he has got one. I'm the only one who can protect myself."

Kara got up. "Lena, no, you are not a killer."

"Yeah, Kara? Maybe you don't know what I am," Lena snapped.

"Well, hey, I know you," James said, as he also got up. "You're not thinking clearly right now, okay?"

"You should listen to them," Tess added, also getting up. She walked up to Lena. "You want more than anything to see this Morgan Edge brought to justice after everything he's put you through, which is understandable, but killing him is not the best option."

"That's my decision to make," Lena retorted, glaring at Tess. "I don't need anyone telling me what I should or shouldn't do."

"You're right," Tess said. "Only you make your decisions, but think about this. Let's say you confront Morgan Edge and successfully kill him. Then what? Pretty sure, you'll feel satisfaction from having gotten rid of the bastard who wronged you, maybe even feel a little pleasure from it, but one day that satisfaction is going to turn into something else and you won't like it. It's gonna dawn on you that there was a better way you could've handled the situation and the guilt, regret, and self-loathing you'll feel upon realizing that what you thought was justice was in fact cold-blooded murder is gonna consume you for the rest of your life. You don't want a murder that you planned on your conscience."

Lena considered Tess' words for a few moments. While the part of Lena that was willing to do absolutely anything to see Edge put down wanted to argue, the part of her that didn't want to become like her brother and mother realized that this redhead stranger was right.

"It sounds as if you're speaking from experience," Lena noted.

"I guess I am," Tess sighed. "But this isn't about me. I can see that you're a good person, Lena, unlike the other members of your family, and I'd hate for that to change just because you've done something you'll most likely regret later on."

"That makes you one of the few people who's met me for the first time and didn't judge me based on the actions of my family," Lena said, flattered.

"It's not your family members' actions that define who are you, it's your own actions," Tess stated. She extended her hand. "Tess Mercer, by the way. I'm a friend of Kara's from out of town."

"Oh," Lena smiled as she shook Tess' hand. "It's nice to meet you, Tess."

"Nice to meet you too, Lena Luthor," Tess said.

"Tess is gonna be staying here in National City for a while and one of the first things she's volunteered to do is help us figure out how to stop Edge," Kara said.

"That's nice of you," Lena said to Tess.

"The pleasure is mine," the redhead woman said.

"Did you get any leads?" Kara asked James.

"We weren't able to find any fragment of the bullet that killed the hitman," James said. "No exit wound, no shrapnel, nothing. No casings."

"So it just vanished?" Kara asked.

"Yeah, it's some really weird futuristic technology," James explained. "But if we can find out who can manufacture a bullet like that, we can find the shooter."

"Lena, I give you my word, Edge will not get away with this again," Kara promised.

"Okay," Lena nodded. "I feel better."

"Good," Kara said.

(Later)

Kara, Lena, and Tess arrived outside of National City Parks Conservatory where a gala was being held. The three women were dressed in formal evening attire to blend in with the attendees.

"Any sign of him?" Kara asked.

"I don't know," Lena said. "Look for the shiniest red dress and you'll find the mouth-breather Edge behind it."

"Well, you were almost right," Kara said, spotting Morgan Edge inside the conservatory talking to an attractive woman. "Shiny red lipstick."

Tess noticed a tall, burly, bald man standing a few meters away before turning to Kara and Lena. "I'll distract the security detail over there while you two carry on with the plan."

Kara and Lena nodded as Tess walked over to the security guard. "Hi, my name is Tess Mercer and I'm a reporter who is here for a story. I only need to ask Mr. Edge a few questions."

As Tess acted as if she was going to try and walk past him, the guard grabbed her arm in a firm grip. "Not so fast, sweetheart."

He started escorting Tess towards the parking lot, not noticing Kara and Lena sneaking past him as the two women headed the rest of the way to the gala.

Once in the parking lot, the guard let go of Tess' arm and headed back to the gala.

"Mission accomplished," Tess muttered, with a smirk.

A few moments later, she saw red, white, and blue dotted lights appear in the sky. The lights formed into a circle for a few seconds before forming into the shape of a boat on water. Tess narrowed her eyes as she noticed one of the dots rapidly moving down. Due to her android physiology, while regular humans would simply see a moving red dotted light, she saw that it was, in fact, an aerial drone descending towards the gala. Obviously, Lena's mother Lillian Luthor, who was not only still alive on this Earth but also evil, had started making her move to try and kill Edge, Tess thought.

"I really hope you get that confession out of him in time, Lena," Tess muttered.

The drone swooped down and stopped in front of the conservatory building, scanning Edge's badge as it identified him. Edge was inside next to Lena, who had a recorder in her hand as she was trying to get him to confess his crimes. The drone opened fire, causing the attendees of the gala to take cover and flee in terror. One of Edge's bodyguards pulled out his gun, but he was almost immediately shot down by the drone.

Edge made a run for it as the drone pursued him. As Edge ran past Kara at the same time the drone fired a shot at him, Kara unleashed her super breath, knocking Edge away from the drone's blast as he was sent flying several feet back against a table.

Lena approached Edge, the recorder in her hand. "Ready to confess?"

"Okay," Edge replied, getting up from the ground with his hands raised in surrender. Staring at the drone in horror as it closed in on him, he turned back to Lena pleadingly. "I did it. All of it. The lead poisoning, I tried to kill you. I tried to cover my tracks. Just call that thing off."

Lena grabbed Edge's press pass from around his neck and tossed it towards the drone. The drone fired at the press pass, blasting it into pieces.

While Lena's back was facing him, Edge grabbed an ice pick from a cube of ice on a nearby table and pointed it at Lena. "Give me the tape. Now!"

"Why didn't you let me kill him?" Lillian Luthor demanded, as she walked up behind Lena, who turned to face her.

"I found another way," the younger Luthor answered.

"There is no other way," Lillian insisted. "You're a Luthor, you should be proud of it."

A drone descended behind her and transformed into a green and purple suit of armor that wrapped itself around Lillian, covering her entire body.

"You're three steps ahead? I'm four," Lillian boasted.

As Lillian raised her arm and aimed her gauntlet at Edge, Supergirl descended in front of Edge as she looked at the armored Lillian in amusement. "Suit's a bit much, don't you think?"

"Says the girl in the cape," Lillian sneered.

(D.E.O.)

"Holy crap, is that the Lexo-suit? That is awesome," Winn gushed, as Alex and Barry both glared at him. "It's gonna be awesome when Supergirl freaking destroys that thing because, you know, that is dangerous."

"We have to get out there," Conner said.

"Let's go," Barry said.

"I'm coming too," Mon-El announced, as he came down the stairs.

(Outside the gala)

A whooshing sound came over the area as Supergirl, Lena, Lillian, and Edge saw Tess in her Red Tornado form flying in before she landed next to Supergirl.

"Red Tornado?" Lena asked, staring at Tess in disbelief.

"Not the one you know," Tess replied. Her voice was electronic and disguised so that Lena wouldn't recognize her. "Don't worry, I'm one of the good guys."

"Another Red Tornado android, and this one actually talks," Lillian commented. "After I get my hands on you, maybe I'll reprogram you to work for me instead."

"That's never gonna happen," Tess insisted, before firing a cyclone at Lillian, who flew out of the way to avoid it.

A long, glowing green blade popped out of Lillian's right gauntlet. Supergirl flew at Lillian, but Lillian attacked her with the blade, knocking Supergirl several meters back against a light pole, which fell down. The impact caused Lena and Edge to nearly lose their balance as the recorder fell out of the former's hand.

Before Lillian could make another move, she was suddenly attacked from behind as Superboy rammed into her, sending her crashing into the conservatory building, causing some damage to it. Lillian recovered after a few moments and hovered in the air, only to be hit dead on by a powerful lightning bolt from The Flash, knocking her to the ground.

Edge, in the meantime, noticed the recorder on the ground. He went to pick up the recorder and, just as he was about to run off with it, Tess blocked his path.

"Going somewhere?" Tess asked, before snatching the recorder from Edge's hand and punching him in the face with just enough force to render him unconscious.

"Thank you," Lena said.

"I'm just doing my job, Ms. Luthor," Tess replied in that same electronic tone, as she handed Lena the recorder.

As Lillian got back up preparing the engage the heroes again, The Flash sped towards her and phased through the suit of armor, pushing Lillian out of it as she fell to the ground. Superboy unleashed his freeze breath on the kryptonite blade before shattering the frozen blade into pieces with his heat vision.

"I'll be right back," Superboy said, as he picked up the Lexo-suit. "I'm gonna make sure no one can wear this thing again."

With that, he shot up in the air at full speed, flying all the way to outer space to destroy the Lexo-suit there.

"Ms. Luthor, glad to see you're okay," Mon-El said to Lena.

"Yeah," she replied, staring at the Daxamite in shock. "I could say the same about you."

"Well, it looks like you got what you came for," Supergirl said, glancing down at Morgan Edge, who was still out cold, and Lillian Luthor, who stayed put as she realized there was nowhere for her to run.

(Next Day, D.E.O.)

"Winn and I cross-referenced the meteor impact sites with news reports and hospital records to search for anomalies," Tess explained. "Most of the anomalies we discovered were aliens from various planets, while four of them were inexplicable."

"Winn, show them," Barry instructed.

"There's no reason for these anomalies," Winn said, as he swiped his tablet and brought up the profiles of four women on the screen. "They've survived horrific car crashes, falls off of cliffs. The doctors said it was unprecedented. Like a miracle that they are alive, and completely unharmed."

Kara got a strange sense of deja vu as she looked at the profile image of Julia Freeman.

"So, two of these are our Worldkillers, huh?" Mon-El asked.

"Possibly," Tess answered. "To know for certain is going to require more research."

"It's her," Kara stated, pointing at Julia Freeman's photo.

"Are you sure?" Conner asked.

"How do you know?" Winn also asked.

"I just do," Kara said.

"Okay," Winn said. "So what do we do?"

"We go get her," Kara answered.

(Few days later)

Supergirl, Superboy, The Flash, Mon-El, Alex, J'onn, and about two dozen D.E.O. agents approached the house of Julia Freeman, while Winn and Tess were monitoring from inside a truck. Supergirl, Superboy, Alex, and two of the agents walked up to the front door, while everyone else headed around either side of the house.

"Okay, we've got one heat signature inside," Winn announced on the comms. "No movements. Looks like we might catch this Worldkiller off-guard. But be careful, in case she's as bad as Reign."

Copy that, Winn," Supergirl replied. "Watch our backs."

"You got it."

Supergirl kicked the door down before she, Superboy, Alex, and the agents entered. They started searching through the house, looking for their target.

"Winn, what's your twenty on the heat signature?" Alex asked.

"Looks like a back room," Winn responded.

Supergirl, Superboy, Alex, The Flash, Mon-El, J'onn, and several agents entered a room and found Julia Freeman sitting on the floor on her knees, with headphones on as she was singing.

"Is it her?" Alex asked Supergirl.

Supergirl cautiously neared Julia. "Yeah, that's her all right." She leaned down, waving her hand in Julia's face. "Hey."

Startled, Julia screamed and backed up against the wall in a panic, while Alex wasted no time pointing her gun at the woman.

"Supergirl?" Julia said, frowning as she noticed the heroine as well as the others. "What... What are you... What are you doing here?"

"Are you Julia Freeman?" Supergirl asked, slowly nearing Julia.

"Yes," Julia answered in confusion. "What do you guys want from me?"

Supergirl turned to Alex. "Stand down." When Alex didn't lower her weapon, Supergirl then said, "It's okay." Alex and the agents lowered their guns as Supergirl turned back to Julia. "Do you... You don't know why we're here, do you?"

"No, what's going on here?" Julia asked, nervously. "Supergirl, please, don't... Don't let them hurt me. Please."

"No, no, don't worry, I won't," Supergirl assured her. She held her hand out towards Julia, and Julia reached for it when Alex suddenly raised her gun again.

"Don't move!" Alex yelled.

Supergirl turned around. "Whoa! Whoa! Hey!"

"You stay right there!" Alex ordered, as Julia got back to her feet, freaked out.

"Alex, what do you think you're doing?! You're not helping right now!" The Flash scolded her.

"Let's get her back to the D.E.O.," J'onn instructed. "We can talk..."

"Hold on, it'll be all right," Supergirl tried to reason with her sister, but Alex wasn't listening.

"I said stay still!" Alex yelled again at Julia, who at this point was completely terrified.

Suddenly, Julia had some kind of seizure as her eyes turned white before she unleashed a powerful sound attack that shattered all the windows in the room and paralyzed the heroes for several seconds. She then unleashed a sonic scream, which hit J'onn dead on as he was knocked several feet back against the wall. She unleashed another sonic scream, this time killing two agents as they were thrown back. As Julia released a third sonic scream, Supergirl unleashed her freeze breath, creating a wall of ice in the doorway between Julia and the heroes.

"J'onn, Flash," Supergirl called out.

The two men phased through the wall of ice into Julia's room. Supergirl touched the wall of ice with her index finger, causing it to crumble into pieces.

"That could have been worse," Alex said, as J'onn and The Flash brought a restrained Julia with power-dampening cuffs.

(D.E.O.)

"Purity is down, Reign and Pestilence to go, and it is only a Wednesday," Alex said proudly, as she, Kara, Barry, Conner, Tess, J'onn, Winn, and Mon-El entered the lab.

"It's certainly been a good morning so far," J'onn said.

"Yes, and bonus points, the D.E.O. techs found this at the Worldkiller's home," Winn said. He sat down at a table in front of a black crystal. "It is a Kryptonian cache crystal, as you know, used to store sensitive information."

"Clark's Fortress of Solitude has crystals like that," Conner noted.

"Same here with our Fortress of Solitude," Kara added. "The crystals contain elements of the Fortress itself, sort of like an artist's stamp."'

"But this particular crystal has a different home and a different stamp," Tess pointed out.

"We might be able to pinpoint the location of the Worldkillers' headquarters if we analyze it," Kara suggested.

"First round is on me," Alex said, smiling with her hands up. "Winn, get your chicken wings."

"And I will have an unnecessary amount of chicken wings as befits a man of my stature," Winn joked.

"So Winn, Tess, and I will run some tests on the crystal," Barry said.

"Let's get to work," Tess said, as she, Conner, Winn, J'onn, and Mon-El headed out of the lab.

"Actually, Alex, can I talk to you for a minute?" Barry asked.

Alex nodded as she and Barry stepped out of the lab.

"What is it, Barry?" she asked.

"What the hell was that back at the house?" Barry demanded. "Why did you aim your gun at Julia like that?"

"Because she is a Worldkiller and you know what Reign did to Kara on Christmas," Alex answered, defensively. "Can you blame me for taking necessary steps to protect my sister?"

"I understand wanting to do everything in your power to protect Kara and avoid a repeat of what happened to her on Christmas, but you overreacted," Barry snapped. "You didn't need to scare the crap out of Julia like that and provoke her to use her powers on us. She could've killed us all."

"I wasn't going to take the chance that she would kill Kara just like Reign almost did!" Alex exclaimed, harshly. "For all we know, she could've been putting on an act to catch us off-guard!"

"I get that, but a trippy-happy agent never helps in those situations," Barry said. "There was a human part of her, who was afraid that you might hurt her and now you might've woken up the Worldkiller in her because of your hostile attitude. You need to keep your temper in check or it's gonna get people killed."

Alex seethed as Barry walked away, leaving her alone to process everything he had told her.

Barry headed downstairs and approached J'onn, Winn, Conner, Tess, and Mon-El.

"Hey, Barry, if you don't mind, we could use your help with repairing the Legion ship," Mon-El said.

"Sure," Barry nodded.

He, Conner, Winn, J'onn, and Mon-El headed off, while Tess stayed behind to keep an eye on the crystal.

(Elsewhere)

J'onn opened the door to the garage before he, Mon-El, Winn, Barry, and Conner entered. Inside the garage was a light blue Bel Air.

"A Bel Air, oh, your ship is a Bel Air?" Winn asked in amazement.

"Indeed," J'onn said, opening the hood of the car. "Two four-barrel carburetors, Duntov cam..."

"What's the mileage?" Winn asked.

"About seven hundred million," J'onn answered.

"Nice," Conner commented.

"What do you need?" Barry asked Mon-El.

"Well, the Moran battery in our cruiser died last week," Mon-El explained.

"Wait, your ship doesn't have any power?" Winn asked.

"Well, not entirely, there's five power sources," Mon-El said.

"But a Moran battery generates anti-gravitational field," J'onn pointed out.

"Which is how the ship flies," Mon-El said. "But if the circuits are without power long enough, they degrade."

"And turn into a pumpkin, got it," Winn said in understanding.

"That's why you need this battery in order for your ship to fly," Conner realized.

"Exactly," Mon-El nodded. "We need to use the battery from this ship to regenerate the fuel cells in ours."

"So basically you need a jumpstart?" Barry asked.

"Yeah," Mon-El said.

"Easy," Winn said.

J'onn used a wrench to loosen the Moran battery in the car and pulled it out.

"Oh! Now that battery looks like it packs a punch," Winn said, staring at the battery in amazement. "Can I hold it?"

"No," J'onn said.

"Okay," Winn said.

(Later, D.E.O.)

After finishing the repairs on the Legion ship, Barry, Conner, and Winn headed back into the lab where Tess was still keeping an eye on the crystal.

"Anything?" Barry asked.

"Nothing so far," Tess answered.

"Really? Nothing?" Winn asked, incredulously.

Suddenly, the crystal glowed as they stared at it warily.

"Okay, what's going on? Is that supposed to be happening?" Conner wondered.

A few seconds later, the glowing crystal shorted out all the electronic equipment as sparks shot out around the lab.

"That's not good," Barry said.

Kara was standing in front of Purity's holding cell when the power-dampeners shut off. Purity unleashed her sonic scream, shattering the glass of her cell as Kara was hit dead on and sent flying many feet back. Kara crashed headfirst against the wall before falling on the floor, the impact rendering her unconscious.

Purity stepped out of her cell and headed through the D.E.O., attacking any agents who got in her way.

Conner appeared behind Purity and punched her in the back, sending her flying a few feet. Before Purity could get back up, a cyclone struck her from above as Tess in her Red Tornado form flew towards her. Purity unleashed her sonic scream, sending Tess flying back and crashing into a wall. Purity got back to her feet and, as Conner flew at her, she attacked him with a sonic scream too, sending him crashing to the ground, dazed. Then, she was staggered a couple of feet back by a blast of yellow-orange lightning as Barry, in his Flash suit, appeared.

However, Barry suddenly found himself paralyzed as Purity unleashed her powerful sound attack that emanated all around the facility. With the heroes incapacitated, Purity headed up the stairs and entered the lab, where Winn still was. As Purity grabbed the Kryptonian crystal from the table, an energy blast was emitted from it, throwing Winn across the lab.

Purity exited the lab as two more agents approached her. She immediately took them out with her sonic scream. She then levitated into the air and flew out of the D.E.O. through one of the windows, shattering it.

(Later)

"You've found her?" Kara asked, as she and Alex walked over to where Winn, Barry, Conner, and Tess were gathered.

"Absolutely," Tess answered.

"Hey, perfect timing," Winn noted, as J'onn and Mon-El also arrived.

"Where is she?" J'onn asked.

"In the subway," Barry answered. "But so far she hasn't attacked yet."

"She will soon though," Kara said. "We should head out."

"Wait," Barry said, as he handed everyone small devices. "They're sonic dampeners that Winn and I whipped up. They'll will protect us from Purity's power."

"Thanks," Kara said.

"Are you sure they will work?" Mon-El wondered.

Winn scoffed. "Wait, you really asked us that?"

"They will," Barry said, confidently.

"Good work, Mr. Allen and Agent Schott," J'onn complimented.

"No problem," Barry said. "Now let's get our bad guy. Or bad girl."

(Elsewhere)

Purity was in the subway train standing in the middle of the aisle when Supergirl and The Flash appeared behind her.

"Purity?" Supergirl called out.

"You've finally learned my name," Purity sneered. She whirled around and unleashed her sound attack, but Supergirl and The Flash were unaffected due to the sonic dampeners in their ears.

Supergirl flew at Purity, tackling her out of the train as they crashed through one of the windows, shattering it. The two landed on the train tracks and stood up as The Flash, Superboy, Tess, Mon-El, and Alex surrounded Purity, who tried to use her powers on the heroes but nothing happened. Purity then saw J'onn, in his Martian form, appear as he phased out of the wall. She unleashed her sonic scream on J'onn as he walked towards her with a pair of power-dampening cuffs, but J'onn turned intangible as well as invisible as the blast harmlessly passed through him.

Purity glanced around, desperately trying to find out a way to escape as the assembled heroes closed in on her. Thinking quickly, she unleashed her scream on the ground beneath her, causing the ground to cave in as she and the heroes fell down into the train station below. This got the attention of all the civilians in the station as most of them panicked and ran away from the scene in terror while some stayed to watch what was happening.

As Purity and the heroes got back to their feet, Purity damaged a pillar with her sonic scream, causing it, along with the ceiling above, to start crumbling. J'onn and Mon-El sped towards the pillar, grunting as they held it in place.

"We need to get these people out of here," Tess stated.

"On it," The Flash said, as he raced off and started speeding the civilians out of the station.

Alex and Tess aided with the evacuation of the civilians, while Superboy and Supergirl prepared to deal with Purity.

Supergirl fired a couple of blasts of heat vision at Purity, who dodged them. Superboy punched Purity in the chest and then under the chin, staggering her back. Purity swung a punch at Superboy, but he dodged it and kicked Purity in the abdomen, knocking her down. Purity got back up and threw a punch at Supergirl, who blocked it and punched Purity in the chest. Supergirl punched Purity two more times before Purity punched Supergirl in the face. Superboy got behind Purity, wrapping his arm around her neck in an effort to restrain her. Purity reverse-headbutted Superboy in the nose, causing him to lose his grip around her neck as he grunted in pain. She then whirled around and punched Superboy in the chest, sending him flying several feet into a newspaper stand.

Purity turned to Supergirl and the two exchanged a few blows before Purity kneed Supergirl in the abdomen. She then grabbed Supergirl around the neck and slammed her against the floor.

Having cleared the station of civilians, The Flash joined the fight and fired a blast of lightning at Purity's back, staggering her forward. As Supergirl charged at her, Purity quickly gained the upper hand, grabbing the Girl of Steel in a firm chokehold. Supergirl used both hands to try and free herself, but the Worldkiller was quite stronger than her.

"I'll tell you a secret," Purity sneered. "Julia's here and I'm going to make her watch while I kill you."

"No, no!" Supergirl cried out. "No, Julia. Julia, please. Please don't let her hurt me. Julia, I know you're there."

The Flash, Superboy, Tess, and Alex watched as Purity's eyes returned to normal color and her grip around Supergirl loosened as Julia came to.

Supergirl was about to free herself when Julia/Purity's grip around her neck suddenly tightened as Purity took over once more.

Alex, Barry, Conner, and Tess stepped forward as Purity choked Supergirl.

"Julia," Alex called out. "No, no, no, Julia. Julia..."

"You don't have to do this," Superboy pleaded. "Let her go, please."

"You stood in front of a car to save your friend Vinita because you love your friend," Alex reminded Julia/Purity. "And you know that Supergirl wants to help you. You can fight this, because you... You are stronger than you think."

"Purity doesn't have to remain in control," Tess said. "The goodness in you can win if you let it, but it's up to you to fight this."

"I see you in there, Julia," Alex said. "And I am so sorry that I didn't see it before, but I swear to God, I am gonna help you beat this. We all will."

"We know you can hear us, Julia," The Flash also added. "Please, let Supergirl go. We can help you. We can fix this... together."

At that moment, Julia came to and yelled as she let Supergirl go.

"Julia?" Alex called out.

Suddenly, Reign descended into the train station through the ceiling and saw Supergirl on the ground catching her breath. "So the Supergirl kneels. Good practice."

Alex aimed her gun at Reign before The Flash held her back. "Alex, no, stay back!" he told her.

However, Alex didn't listen as she freed herself from The Flash's hold and fired at Reign, but the shots from Alex's gun didn't affect the Worldkiller.

"You, I'll kill," Reign snarled.

Before Reign could attack Alex, Superboy grabbed Alex in a blur, speeding her out of the way.

The Flash and Tess rushed towards Reign, who slammed her hands together, creating a shockwave that sent the two red heroes flying back.

"Stop!" Julia yelled, as she stood up and faced Reign. "Take me. You can have me."

"Julia, don't," Supergirl begged, her voice hoarse due to still recovering from Purity's chokehold. "Don't do this."

"Purity, sister," Reign greeted, as Julia walked towards her. "We will find our third, our Pestilence. Once we're finally together, there will be nothing but unstoppable power."

With that, Reign grabbed Julia and flew away at full speed, crashing through the ceiling on the way out.

Meanwhile, J'onn and Mon-El had just finished stabilizing the pillar.

(D.E.O.)

Barry, Conner, Tess, Kara, Alex, J'onn, and Winn were back in the main room of the D.E.O.

"Alex, what the hell were you thinking out there?" Barry demanded. "Shooting at Reign knowing there's nothing you, a human with no special powers, could do to hurt her? That was pretty reckless of you."

"Mr. Allen is right," J'onn added. "If Superboy hadn't pulled you out of the way, you could've been seriously injured or killed."

"I deserved that," Alex admitted, with a sigh. "But, hey, at least I'm fine."

"That's not the point, Alex," Kara said. "There's no telling what Reign could've done to you."

"Winn, please give them something else to think about," Alex said.

"Uh, we lost track of Reign and Julia, like, minutes after they flew away," Winn reported.

"It's only a matter of time before Reign forces Julia back into Purity," J'onn said.

"Julia, she's tough," Alex pointed out. "Maybe she can hold out."

"Well, the Worldkillers might be too hard for us to beat," Kara said. "But maybe we're not supposed to beat them."

"Well, how are we supposed to win?" Winn asked.

"We save them," Kara answered.

The scenes in 3x13 with Kara and Alex interrogating Purity while she's in the holding cell remained the same, which is why they weren't included in this chapter.
