Winry let out a sigh as she walked out of the steaming bathroom, forgoing her robe and instead wrapping a towel around her long, wet hair. She stretched out her shoulders as she strolled into her room, taking a gander at the ever-growing amount of clothing in her walk-in closet, and wondering what in the world she should wear. Ed was upstairs getting ready, probably still fretting over Al being sent off to Xing by someone other than him. Winry had to admit, it was kind of cute how much he worried about his brother.

After a twenty minute debacle on whether or not joggers and flip-flops were an atrocity or fashionably chill, Winry ran up to Ed's place fully clothed and ready for the day. He left the door unlocked for her to enter at any time, and she found it oddly comfortable that she could come and go from his place as she pleased. It had nearly been a week since they had their first kiss, and already they were in and out of each other's homes like a seasoned couple.

Winry suddenly stopped in the middle of Ed's living room at that thought. A couple… Were they a couple? With everything that happened the past week, her and Ed didn't really have a chance to talk about that.

"Al just text me," she heard Ed say from afar. "He's boarding his final flight and he'll be back at campus in about six hours."

"Good," Winry replied, wondering if she should walk back to his room. "God, a six hour flight? That sounds like actual hell."

Ed came into the living room, eyes fixed on his phone as he typed out a message. "You're telling me. He actually thinks I'm going to fly out to his graduation ceremony when he gets his bachelors."

Winry crossed her arms and cocked an eyebrow. "You are, aren't you?"

"It'll take a hell of a lot of convincing," he replied, "but he'll probably guilt me into doing it."

Winry smiled as he put the phone in his pocket and looked up at her. His hair was slightly wet and left down, the ends of his hair nearly grazing his bare shoulders. She never thought she'd be so attracted to a guy with long hair, but the longer her eyes lingered on him, the less she cared.

"So," Ed started, crossing his arms across his chest. "What's the plan for the day?"

Winry tilted her head to the side. "What do you mean?"

Ed cocked an eyebrow, and half-smiled. "What do you want to do today?"

You, Winry thought before she could stop herself, and blushed in response. "I mean, I don't know. I have nothing planned."

Ed rolled his eyes and turned towards the hall again. "Think about it. In the meantime, I'm going to put a shirt on," he smirked as he began to walk towards his room. "I can tell you're distracted."

Winry's jaw dropped, and grabbed a pillow from his couch, throwing it directly at his head. "Shut up, you little jack ass!"

Ed grabbed the pillow mid air and tossed it back. "NOT LITTLE!"

"Sounds like you're in denial over something, Ed!" she retorted, plopping onto the couch's armrest.

"You keep thinking that," he remarked. "So, how's about we get breakfast?"

Winry stared down at her over-sized band tee and loose fit joggers. "Uh, I don't think I'm presentable to the human eye at the moment."

She could hear him scoff all the way down the hall. "You're more than presentable no matter how you look, idiot."

"Thanks, dummy," she said back, smirking as he walked back into the room. "But I think you're opinion is a little biased."

"Well, if you're really that worried," he started, shuffling his fingers through his hair to shake out any water that he could. "We can just do drive thru."

Winry titled her head in thought, biting her bottom lip as she smiled. "Alright. Donuts and coffee?"

"Sounds good to me," Ed replied. "Come on, I'll drive."

Winry jumped from her place on the couch happily, beaming as Ed followed behind her closely. She did her best to not shiver as his hand rested on the small of her back as he grabbed his keys from the end table, nor when he smiled as he nudged her playfully out of the apartment with his hip. The poked and prodded one another all the way to his car. Winry thought she was going to bust a lung when she jokingly stuck her foot out in front of Ed and he actually tripped, screaming like a young girl as he landed flat on his face.

"You sound like a damn seagull when you laugh," he muttered, as they both climbed into the front seats of the car.

Winry waved the comment off with a flick of her wrist. "I'm -heh- sorry! I'll stop -heh- soon, -heh- I swear!"

"Yeah, yeah," he chided, though it was obvious he wasn't angry by the smile that was start to crack. "Laugh it up, ya damn bully."

Winry began to snort loudly. "Stop it! I'm -snort- not a -heh heh- bully!"

Ed put the key in ignition and shoved her as he pulled out of the parking lot. "I'm not buying you breakfast anymore."

Winry wiped her eyes and smacked Ed's shoulder. "Oh, whatever! You're such a big baby!"

"And you're an asshole," he replied, plastering his hand to her face and disheveling her bangs as she shrieked. "Stop hitting me, I'm trying to drive!"

Winry laughed loudly as their banter continued through the trip to the restaurant, through the line as they ordered, and even the drive back home. She felt at ease with Edward, even though she wasn't sure just where they stood in terms of their relationship. But after spending all of Sunday goofing around with him, eating take out, playing video games and taking the challenge of Netflix Roulette, Winry really didn't care. Knowing that she made him feel just as elated as he did her was, at that point, enough for her. They had enough happening in their lives that labeling whatever was occurring between them didn't seem necessary. She liked having one part of her life that didn't need planning, that didn't need her to dissect and decipher every bit and piece in order for her to understand it.

When eleven thirty rolled around and she and Edward had just begun the second season of Parks and Recreation, Winry gave into her growing fatigue and told Ed she needed to head back to her place. He stood with her and walked her to the door, and something inside her began to burst, like fireworks shooting off in her belly.

"I had fun today," she said honestly.

"Me too," he replied. "I really needed a day like today."

"We both did," she corrected, and ran her hand down his arm softly. "See you tomorrow?"

"You bet," he answered, and Winry smiled as she began to walk out the door. "Wait."

"Huh?" she managed to get out, but Edward's mouth pressing against hers stopped her from being able to say anything else.

He wrapped his hands around her biceps, gently pulling Winry closer to him as she placed her hands against the nape of his neck. Her body relaxed into his grip without a hint of difficulty. Kissing him felt as easy as breathing; Winry wasn't quite sure if she had ever fallen into a rhythm as easily as she had in that very moment. He pulled away from her slowly, wearing a look of accomplishment, and at the same time, complete tranquility.

"Night," he breathed, as a lop-sided grin began to spread from ear to ear.

Winry bit the inside of her lip, and smiled back just as widely. "Goodnight."

She walked down to her apartment in complete quiet, beaming like a child that was going to bed the night before their birthday. Whatever was happening between them, it was absolutely, one hundred percent, completely, and utterly perfect.
