Scorpius explained to the headmistress in vain the reasons that had pushed them into breaking the curfew but she didn't seem to want to agree to a compromise. In her stern voice, McGonagall gave them two hours of detention which they had to carry out during the week in the company of Filch, cleaning all the unused classrooms.
"But, Professor McGonall..." protested Albus.
