Chapter 27:
THE "FORGOTTEN" ONE
Note: I haven't written or uploaded a new chapter for more than 2 years. The reason was, which I already mentioned, moving to Poland and adjusting to the lifestyle here and to the new job. I am still quite busy with my job (got a promotion as well, yaaay), but managed to at least somehow settle in to this different life. I have more inspiration for writing again, but it all depends how much I am tired during the week. I also have other stuff to do, so usually the day ends too quickly for me to make any meaningful progress on a chapter. For that reason, I mostly try writing during weekends, and hoping to make some good progress :).
Previously on Consumed by the past:
Gohan had a vivid nightmare about Endou. Did she really find out he has a brother now? The boy fought a copy of himself in his dream - the perfect opponent that Endou could think of. She managed to cause Gohan to give in to his anger, resulting in the destruction of Capsule Corp. and almost the whole city. Is this the premonition of one of Gohan's future battles, or is it just a a bad dream? But putting this aside, this chapter is devoted to someone else from the story. Read on to find out happened to this person when being teleported from planet Namek.
The last thing going through this person's mind was "You owe your life to him".
"My life?! MY LIFE!? I swear I will find you, Gohan, and make you pay for humiliating me!"
Looking around her, there was nothing except a barren landscape which consisted of rock-like material and swirling green energy vortexes. The sky seems to be dark blue, with no clouds what so ever. A place literally out of sight and out of mind.
"Where am I?" she thought.
Indeed the surrounding area seemed unfamiliar to her, but nothing she hasn't seen before. The "demon" realm looked similar, but the air here was something completely different. She had difficulties breathing and concentrating her thoughts, something she was not used to. With a bit of struggle, she flew into the air, which was full of unstable powerful winds, imbued with strange energy. The moment she was airborne, a powerful burst of this energy made contact with her body, causing a burning sensation all over her it. She endured and continued flying into one direction, but was soon struck again, forcing her to the ground.
"What kind of energy is this?" she wondered. "No matter, I can continue on foot until I find a better place to scout from the air."
Hours have passed and it seemed she wasn't making any progress at all. The landscape hadn't changed one bit and the atmosphere was still full of that strange energy which seems to be zapping everything near it. The winds were getting stronger - it seems a storm is brewing, or at least something equivalent. Thankfully, she could see a mountain pass in the distance, not too far from her current location. As she was nearing her destination, the storm suddenly intensified - extremely strong wind started blowing. And if that wasn't enough, the clouds, which there were none before, suddenly started accumulating. Suddenly, bolts of purple lightning started discharging from them and hitting the ground, tearing apart any rock or boulder that was hit by them.
"S***, I need to get out of the open and find a shelter."
She rushed forward to find any shelter from this wild electrical storm. After a short while, something that resembled a cave could be seen. With every second, the entrance got nearer and nearer until her body stopped moving. She was in excruciating pain, her body could not move, it was like all her energy was just sucked out of her. She collapsed on the ground, soon losing consciousness, while the storm still raged on.
. . . . .
Her eyes started opening slowly... everything seems blurry. The moment she moved her head, a sharp pain pierced her body. She wanted to get up, despite the pain, but her body was completely exhausted.
Wha... what is happening? I feel like I have no energy. Ugh, my head is literally killing me.
"Please, save your energy. You are lucky to be alive," a calm voice said.
"Wha... who... where am I?"
"You are safe, don't worry. The storm cannot reach us here," replied the stranger.
"You... you haven't answered me," Kyuuri persisted.
"My, you are a very persistent being," the person said and put a damp cloth on Kyuuri's forehead, "Don't struggle, it is just to make you feel better."
"I... I don't need help," Kyuuri said and grabbed the stranger's arm.
The unknown person smiled for a brief moment, but his expression turned serious afterwards: "I have seen the likes of you before. Acting as if you were the most important person in the universe, not needing any help from others. Thinking of only yourself."
"W-what?! You dare..."
"You are in no position to reject help, my friend Kyuuri."
"You... you know my... name... how?" she was surprised.
"That is of no importance at the moment. The only important thing is you accepting the fact that you have almost been killed by the electric storm."
The mysterious figure stood up and started looking through an opening in the rocky wall, which resembled a window, "I found you outside, lying on the ground unconscious, and decided to offer you shelter here. Many warriors and even powerful magicians have visited this place, wanting to learn its secrets and to obtain the much needed answers to their questions. Very few have left this planet alive, thanks to me."
"So you killed everyone else?" Kyuuri asked.
"Heh, I expected a question like this, but the answer is no," the figure said and turned to Kyuuri, "Thanks to me, not everyone died. I managed to save a few, just like I saved you."
"But why me? And why only a few others?" the demon warrior wanted to know.
"So many questions suddenly. Well, no use in hiding it... I am a telepath named H'Tap and can read thoughts and of course communicate telepathically."
"That explains how you know my name and some things about me," replied Kyuuri and slowly lifted herself into a sitting position.
"Some things? I know that a boy named Gohan defeated you and then showed you mercy be teleporting you here. Your previous master Endou discarded you like a pawn; she used you to obtain knowledge and power from Shingo. Should I go on?"
Kyuuri clenched her left fist while listening to all H'Tap had to say. She despised Gohan with every fiber in her body, and the same was with Endou. While the little brat was probably training and gaining more power, she was here, exhausted and barely sitting on her own. The mere thought of her condition made her sick to her stomach. She has been in more life threatening battles that she can remember, but nothing comes close to this pathetic experience.
"The brat will pay for what he has done to me... same goes for Endou. Nobody betrays me and lives. I will have my revenge!"
"My, my... so much anger and pain. I have seen all sorts of people during my life, but I have never met someone who is as dedicated to revenge as you. No wonder you survived a direct hit from the electrical storm... the hate keeps you going, nothing else. But be wary, this kind of path leads to your downfall sooner or later," H'Tap said.
"You are wrong... I will surpass both the boy and Endou..."
"And then what?" the telepath interrupted her.
"I will obliterate Endou instantly. No waiting or playing around, she is too unpredictable because of her new dark powers."
"And the boy?"
Kyuuri smirked, "Gohan... he deserves much, much worse. A slow and painful defeat, but not death, that would be too easy.
H'Tap took a deep breath, "I was a bit familiar with Endou before I read your mind... a very troublesome person indeed. But now that she has taken Shingo's knowledge and power, she is an extremely dangerous individual. But regarding the young Gohan... never heard of him before, not even about his Saiyan race."
"How were you able to communicate with him if you didn't even know Saiyans existed? I may not be able to understand all of your fancy magic, but I do know you can't just telepathically connect to somebody, if you don't know where or how far to look for."
H'Tap smirked: "A very fine question, indeed. So it seems there really is more to you than just brute strength. To answer it, I must first enlighten you about the dark energy…"
"Which Shingo and Endou use to conjure their spells and magic, I know all that," Kyuuri interrupted him. "I also know that the Staff amplifies Endou's magic and telepathic skills, so please, spare me the lesson about that."
"Very well… didn't mean to make you so upset, so I apologize. I should have read your mind a bit more thoroughly… a mistake on my part," the telepath replied with a soft and gentle voice, but continued: "As you are already aware, as you claim, then you must also know that this Gohan emits a part of this dark energy, it flows within him."
"From Endou's experiment going wrong, I would say," Kyuuri admitted.
"And I am also not surprised that you have never heard of his race, because they were inferior and were wiped out. Just he, his father and the Saiyan prince Vegeta remain. But this will be soon rectified... the Saiyans will either become extinct or serve me."
The moment Kyuuri mentioned the word "extinct", H'Tap's expression became more serious and also somehow sadder. He didn't say anything for a few moments and Kyuuri noticed that.
"What happened? Was is something I said?" Kyuuri wondered.
"This place… this planet was once one of the most beautiful places in this part of the galaxy," he said with a sad voice and continued, "until it was destroyed… by your former master."
"Endou did this?" Kyuuri asked.
"Not Endou, but Shingo… he is the one responsible for the near extinction of my people. I am probably the only one left." H'Tap explained.
"I don't remember…" Kyuuri answered, before being interrupted.
"It was before your time, long before you became one of his elite bodyguards."
Based on that quite shocking revelation, Kyuuri smirked: "So then you DO know how I feel about Gohan and Endou. To be honest, you have experienced a far worse faith than me. Your whole planet, and civilization, wiped out by Shingo."
H'Tap lowered his head and took a deep breath: "I'm afraid it is not that simple. It is true that he is the reason my people were wiped out, but if it hadn't been for me, he wouldn't have been able to even leave the planet."
The demonic warrior raised her eyebrow: "Wait… YOU are the one who helped him escape?! On the other hand, why am I even asking this? I just need to get back to my realm!"
"To shorten the story," the telepath said while taking a seat, "I was the one who taught Shingo how to create and use portals, which enables him to travel vast, but limited distances."
"So the portals that I and Endou can create… these are actually from Shingo." Kyuuri said.
"Yes, but yours, as far as I was able to determine, are limited to the entry and exit point. Your "colleague" Koshi, has to establish a link between those two points, and only after he had done this, you were able to willingly summon the portal which connected both," explained H'Tap, proving his superior knowledge about interdimensional portals.
The demon warrior was actually amazed how much the telepath was able to gather by just taking a quick peek into her mind: "You seem to have answers to everything. It would be nice having this ability. I could predict all of Gohan's attacks and intentions."
H'Tap smiled for a bit and continued, "This Gohan really must be the source of all your hatred, and even of your very existence at the moment."
"I will deal with him and Endou… they will receive what's coming to them," she responded with a cold voice.
"You do realize that Endou can now travel almost anywhere, without relying on any technique, spell or even technology."
"Don't take me for a fool, I very well know what she is capable of. And regarding the destruction of your people and nearly your planet, it was your own mistake, old man. Why would you even teach Shingo this? Haven't you ever heard of him before?" Kyuuri asked more questions.
"My people were mostly isolated. We used these portals to travel around, so nobody could follow or find a way back here. We were a peaceful race, not used to visitors at all, until Shingo visited."
"But how did he find you? I though you said you lived in isolation. Surely Shingo couldn't have just found your planet or teleported to you."
"True, all true, but I haven't told you everything," H'Tap explained while still sitting in something resembling a chair or a sofa, "It was some of our explorers that found Shingo, injured and clinging to his life. I was a part of that expedition, its leader, for that matter. I was the one who decided to save him and bring him here. The original idea was to nurse him back to health and return him where he was found."
"But…" Kyuuri interrupted.
"He was keen on learning our ways, helping my people with expeditions, research, even protecting us, since he did possess some impressive magical skills, but still inferior to ours. And after many years living among us, proving to be an exemplary person; our children even adored him almost as a hero, he was given the opportunity to learn more of our magical techniques. One of them was to conjure a portal to another location by only using your mind and power. At first, the traveled distance is extremely short, but with proper time and training, this could be expanded to almost unimaginable scale… traveling between planets, solar systems, or even dimensions."
As H'Tap was having his monologue, Kyuuri managed to finally slowly get up and stand on her feet. She was able to make a few small steps and then rested at the window, leaning against the rocky wall with her left hand.
"Oh, so you can already walk, most impressive, I must say," the telepath said with a cheerful voice.
The demon warrior didn't say anything; her eyes were focused on the electric storm which is raging outside. Then her thoughts started drifting in another way – to Gohan. While she was stranded here with the telepath, on a planet where storms can kill you, the half-Saiyan was most probably gaining more power with Vegeta. Both of them had reached Super Saiyan 2, which could mean trouble for Kyuuri. She was immensely strong, rivaling Gohan's power, but she couldn't fight another Super Saiyan 2. And if that wasn't enough, Endou is also something she needs to worry about now. Even though her combat abilities are nothing compared to Kyuuri's, it's the magic proficiency that makes her a very formidable opponent. She could also just take control of Kyuuri's mind and enslave her without any problems, making her like a brainless zombie that follows orders without hesitation or second thoughts.
"I believe I can help with that," H'Tap interrupted Kyuuri's thoughts.
"These telepathic powers of yours are starting to annoy me," she answered and turned around, "but since you have already poked my mind again, with which part can you help?"
"The part about Endou controlling your mind. I can teach you how to establish mental barriers in your mind, making it nearly impossible for her to control you."
"Even if you can do that… why would you do it? After all, I am… was, a member of Shingo's order."
"To be honest, I believe you are the only one who can defeat Endou. While she possesses Shingo's powers, she is just as dangerous as Shingo was. I don't want her destroying planets and civilizations, just like he did mine," H'Tap was brutally honest.
"Or," Kyuuri smiled, "you want revenge because he nearly wiped you out. It doesn't matter if it is Endou now, since she practically became Shingo, but with much higher ambitions. I don't need telepathic powers to see that."
"Hmmm, I will admit that Shingo needs to be brought to justice, but he is gone now, so we can assume he got what he deserved. Despite that, Endou might be even more dangerous than him, so no matter how you look at it, she needs to be stopped."
"Even if I accept," Kyuuri answered and sat on the bed again, "how do you know that you can trust me? I could just do the same and vaporize you in an instant."
"I'm afraid I have no other option but to trust you, and hopefully, you will, too," the telepath said while slowly walking around:" Either you will help me or not, but I know that you are a warrior of principles and honor. Even if you kill me afterwards, I have nothing to lose anymore. If giving my life in exchange for stopping Endou, then so be it."
Kyuuri was probably one of the least trustworthy people, but when hearing H'Tap's words, she had a feeling that he is someone with integrity and honor. Surely he was a complete stranger, and she knew almost nothing about him, but seeing him not being afraid to give his life to rectify his mistake with Shingo, that impressed her quite a bit. It was like he took all the fun out of killing him, which, honestly, did cross her mind on more than one occasion… after he had taught her how to conjure portals, of course.
"To be honest, I wouldn't gain anything by killing you," she responded sincerely, "but if you were to get in my way… that would probably be a different story."
"I am thankful for you honesty, no matter how long it will last," replied the telepath while going to another chamber and returning with some food: "Here, you need sustenance to get your strength back. It is not much, and it might not be that tasty, but it will suffice."
Kyuuri glanced at what he had brought: "Have eaten much worse, believe it or not."
"Please, eat as much as you can and have some rest afterwards, you need it. You should be up and running in a few hours and then we can start our little training. It won't be easy, but the more time we waste, the stronger Endou will probably get."
"… and Gohan. Endou probably doesn't know that I am alive which gives me the element of surprise. However, my current strength won't be enough to defeat her since her newly gained powers can counter most of my techniques," added Kyuuri.
"As well as mine, but probably not the paralysis one, I presume, since this was something Shingo couldn't master at all."
"So you mean she might have inherited his strengths and weaknesses?"
"That is my assumption, yes. Despite the fact that she possesses his power and knowledge, she doesn't have his memories, which, technically, would mean that she is not aware that Shingo never learned this technique."
"And this paralysis thing can disable her? Permanently, temporarily?" Kyuuri wanted to know more.
H'Tap scratched his head and answered: "Sadly, none of those. It can disable, paralyze her yes, but this technique is called an "active" one, which means you need to channel your energy constantly in to it, otherwise the effect breaks."
"In other words, it is a stalemate. The target is paralyzed, but so are you since you can't do anything else besides keeping your target in this state. Not much of an offensive technique, I must say."
"That is because it is not… it is defensive. Most probably why Shingo never mastered it since his approach was always more of an offensive one. But enough about this," H'Tap continued and made his way to the next chamber, but stopped and looked back at Kyuuri, "you need to get rested and well fed. I require some rest and preparation of my own, but I can do this in another chamber. Sleep well," the telepath said and went to the next room/chamber.
Kyuuri didn't say anything; she just ate whatever he had brought to her, lay on the bed and got the much needed rest.
The first day of training arrived, or so Kyuuri thought. Despite the fact that this planet's "weather", if you can even call it that, is mostly brutal and dangerous, there are occasions when the electric storms would completely vanish. Former Endou's bodyguard was waiting in one of the chambers where H'Tap would usually meditate.
"Finally I can obtain more knowledge and power, which I can use to get back at Endou and Gohan," she thought while waiting for H'Tap.
Suddenly, the chamber's doors opened – it was her new "master".
"I'm afraid it won't be that easy," he said.
"You said you will teach me," she replied.
"Indeed I have and it is what I will do."
After that, he dropped a whole stack of books on the table.
"What is this?" Kyuuri was surprised.
H'Tap remained serious: "This is your training that I promised."
Kyuuri's expression changed to a more serious one: "Is this some kind of a joke?"
"Far from it, Kyuuri. This is where it all begins. In order to start your training, you need to get familiar with the theory and basics first. I cannot teach you something you do not understand. We need a firm foundation on which to build knowledge and skill."
The demon fighter was not ready for this kind of surprise, but it did make sense. If she were to have her revenge on Endou, she needs to be prepared in all possible ways. Gohan, on the other hand, is mostly a fighter, lacking serious experience, but tends to adapt quickly due to his Saiyan heritage – not to be underestimated in any way. Brute force won't be enough to defeat either of them.
With a deep sigh, she nodded: "Very well, I should have known better. So what is the plan?"
"The plan for you is to learn and expand your horizons with these books. Once you are prepared, we can begin the next phase. Do NOT take this, or any other task, lightly. Even Shingo struggled and his understanding in magic and portals was much higher than yours."
H'Tap made his way to the door, looking back: "You know where food and drinks are. Focus on this task, otherwise I cannot help you."
After that, he closed the door and left Kyuuri alone with all those books. At first, she wasn't sure how exactly to proceed since it has been a very long time when she had to study like this; it was back then when she was recruited by Shingo and had to learn how to create and maintain portals in combination with Koshi's portal magic.
"There is no use in delaying the inevitable," she though and opened the first book.
Luckily, it was written in one of the languages she was very familiar with. And with that said, the learning had begun.
Weeks went by and progress was very slow – something that Kyuuri had never anticipated. The text in the books was easily readable, but understanding and connecting the dots was a whole different matter. As usual, she was too stubborn to ask H'Tap for assistance. On top of that, she was losing valuable time. While she is stuck with these books, Gohan is probably training like crazy and getting stronger. Her mind quickly wandered away, thinking how to get back at Endou. Distractions like this were common during her studying, but at the same time, it was pushing her forward. More days, and soon, weeks passed, when she finally starting connecting the dots and forming a larger picture. She was finally able to understand what she had been reading all this time, but that was only the first few books; plenty more to read and process. Once she understood the basics from the first few books, it was much easier to process all the other ones. After several months of practically non-stop studying, H'Tap was ready to test her newly-obtained knowledge.
"I have to say Kyuuri, it took a bit longer, but I can confirm that you are ready," he said.
"A bit longer? I worked my ass off to learn all this. How long did Shingo need?"
"That is not important at all," he replied.
"Not important or you just won't tell me?" Kyuuri started to get angry.
"Both, actually. If you keep comparing yourself to others, you are not accomplishing anything. There will always be someone who is better at something than you. The sooner you accept this, the easier it will be to focus on your own growth and development."
"You make it sound so easy, old man. However, comparing myself to others is what pushes me forward and enables me to overcome my obstacles. If it weren't for Gohan, I wouldn't be this strong. Because of him, I keep pushing my limits," she answered back.
"Do I hear some sort of respect for this Gohan person?" H'Tap quickly asked.
Kyuuri didn't respond, she just crossed her arms and remained silent. H'Tap didn't read her mind – something that they had agreed upon at the beginning. He never probed her mind without her consent.
"Your actions speak louder than your words," he replied and continued, "but in any case, as promised, we will begin the serious part of your training tomorrow. I would suggest you get some rest until then."
The demon fighter nodded and exited the chamber, leaving the telepath alone with his thoughts: "She reminds me of Shingo. All that determination and willpower to accomplish personal goals, or vendettas in this case."
The very next day, as promised, the second part of Kyuuri's training began. They started with meditation exercises, followed by some simple energy manipulation techniques. After 7 days of this same routine, a change was on the horizon – Kyuuri had to combine her knowledge and practical learning, or in other words, it was time to get serious. She was instructed to create a portal from here to H'Tap's home. Kyuuri remembered his teachings and everything she had learned so far, and then, suddenly… nothing happened. No influx of energy and no portal. Naturally, she tried again, and again and again, but no change. The gateway wouldn't appear no matter how many times she tried. As usual with Kyuuri, she started getting upset and impatient, which didn't help out at all.
"Why isn't it working?!" she almost screamed.
"Calm your mind, otherwise it won't work at all. You need to concentrate and only focus on this task. Envision the connection from both points, like a tunnel. After that, open the entrance and exit by creating a small, yet stable rift in space-time fabric. Use you Ki as instructed – use it as a knife to cut open the entrance and exit," H'Tap explained.
Trying to follow the instructions, Kyuuri still didn't succeed. She persevered for a few hours, but then the frustration was just too much, so H'Tap decided it was enough for today.
Former Endou's elite bodyguard wasn't used to "failure" like this. She used to excel at pretty much everything, as an elite should; at least that was her state of mind. During the evening time, the electric storms returned, forcing both of them to take shelter in H'Tap's home. As the storms ravaged across the surface, Kyuuri remained by the window and watched this dangerous, yet unique phenomena.
"It seems I have reached my limit," she thought. "I have already lost so much time with the basics… not even that, the basics of basics," and slammed her fist against the wall. H'Tap heard this, but decided not to intervene, since this is something that Kyuuri needs to overcome herself. She remembered how Gohan was able to beat her back on Earth and how powerless she was on Namek as well. Even though she despised Gohan and the Saiyans, she did have some sort of admiration for them for being such natural strong fighters with much evolved fighting instinct. That thought brought a barely noticeable smile on her face.
"Heh, I have to admit, they are born to fight and get stronger with each battle, Super Saiyan or not."
She moved away from the window and sat on her bed, thinking even more.
"It seems I only have one chance to beat Gohan, otherwise he will just keep coming back stronger and more adapted to my techniques and fighting style."
Just that thought was a bit scary – fighting against someone who keeps getting stronger.
"No, no! This kind of thinking is not me. I WILL learn everything from H'Tap and get back to Earth to finish off that brat and Endou as well, wherever she might be. Once I learn to conjure portals, they don't be able to hide."
Having said that, she decided to meditate for a while – one of H'Tap's suggestions that she found very useful. The next day all of the training was conducted indoors, since electric storms didn't cease during the night. Same task was given to Kyuuri as yesterday; to open a short portal from one chamber to another. Long story short, she wasn't able to succeed this time as well. Days like this started to pile up, until eventually there was a breakthrough and Kyuuri finally succeeded. She was now able to open a short, but stable portal between two, not-so-close and not-so-distant locations. H'Tap was so confident in her abilities that he actually stepped through and tested the portal.
As he arrived back, he congratulated her: "I am to congratulate you, Kyuuri, very well done with establishing a stable portal."
The demon fighter was mentally very exhausted after all these days of non-stop trying, but all the hard work payed off.
"I will admit old man that this was the most difficult technique I have ever learned."
"And probably the most useful as well," the telepath added.
"Still, this is only the beginning," she replied and continued, "I need to master it in order to open portals across vast distances and perhaps even dimensions."
"All in due time, Kyuuri. It took our best students a few years to master this, and I am not even talking about portals to other dimensions. The most difficult part is locating and pinpointing them, and after that establishing a stable portal."
"Oh, I can locate a few of them with no problems. If you had lived my life, you would have spent quite some time in a few of them, especially in the demon realm, which used to be hidden from the Kaioshins. Once I am able to open portals across vast distances, it should be no problem for those dimensions."
H'Tap was actually shocked how confident Kyuuri is right now. He started having doubts if he had done the right, but in the end, Kyuuri is his last chance to stop Endou. This was the risk he just had to take, no matter the consequences.
Kyuuri noticed how his expression changed: "Don't worry, I won't kill you. We have made an honorable agreement and I intend to fulfill my end by killing Endou. Gohan is not your concern nor is anything else for that matter. Once the agreement has been fulfilled, I have no other obligations towards you."
"As I have none towards you," smiled H'Tap: "But since you are still my guest, feel invited to my home for a celebratory modest feast in honor of your today's success."
"Your hospitality will be the death of you, old man," she smiled back.
This day marked the beginning of a new era for Kyuuri. As she tirelessly practiced the new technique, trying to master is as soon as possible, she became well aware that there is nothing limiting her anymore. Not only that, but she developed a new fighting strategy by using quick local portals to either teleport or attack her opponent by punching or kicking through them. This was a very effective strategy since she is now able to open these portals almost instantly. However, opening a portal to a location extremely far away, even on the same planet, it takes Kyuuri at least a few seconds to establish it. When opening it to other planets, or even dimensions, the time and energy spent increases accordingly with the distance, and is something that cannot be done on the fly or while fighting. The technique is extremely powerful, but if not done 100 % properly, the portal can collapse, trapping you inside in some kind of void. Also, the exit might open somewhere completely different, like in space, inside mountains, walls, oceans, and so on. After she had finally perfected this new fighting style, even though more time had passed, Kyuuri one day approached H'Tap, feeling as confident as never before:" I believe I have learned what I could from you, but I want to test it."
"And how would you like to do this? Certainly not on me, I hope," the telepath replied.
"Of course not, old man. I think it is time to pay Gohan a visit, but before doing that, there is someone I need to visit first," she smiled sinisterly.
"Need I remind you about our honorable agreement regarding Endou's defeat?" he asked.
"I didn't forget about it and I will fulfill my promise," Kyuuri replied, waving her left arm and creating a portal to somewhere.
H'Tap was impressed how quickly she opened a portal: "Where are you going?"
"To another dimension, actually," she replied and continued, "to a very familiar one where a friend is waiting, hopefully."
"I must admit, I am not sure whether to be shocked or surprised. Indeed you have learned this technique to its fullest potential, but I will be blunt… I don't like this."
"If it makes you feel better, I am not touching your people or any of the planets they have scattered to. You have plenty of your own problems, so you don't need me to cause even more."
Kyuuri wanted to enter the portal, but stopped directly in front of it.
H'Tap was waiting, but eventually said: "I don't have to be a telepath to know what you are thinking right now."
"Indeed you don't, old man. This is the first time someone had helped me, even though you knew what my intentions were. I spent months, if not years here, can't really tell, following your guidance and training. You are probably the most selfless being I have ever met," Kyuuri answered and turned her head around: "I thank you for that. Since you have kept your end of the agreement, it is time I keep mine."
That being said, she stepped through the portal and vanished, while H'Tap was still looking at the same direction: "I know you will, Kyuuri. If not, Endou will corrupt and consume everyone and everything. Make sure this Gohan doesn't distract you too much."
