Hello all Storm here with a new chapter! Here we'll be seeing some reactions to Akane's change and her torturing and killing of the Death Eater children. So, without further ado.
I own nothing
Daphne sat in her room within the Slytherin Dungeon, trying desperately to stop her shaking as she kept replaying what she had witnessed, just a few hours ago.
While she had just gotten started to know Akane in First Year, though still not really interacting with her, given the redhead was mostly focused on that box thing. But what she did learn about Akane, was that she wasn't necessarily a violent person and simply did what Shendu told her to do. Now though, the Slytherin could see that was a complete misconception.
Akane Uzumaki did in fact possess a dark side, she just simply knew how to keep it buried and control it, and when she does show it…Daphne shivered as she remembered how the Ravenclaw tortured those five. There was no hesitation, no pause, no signs that she had the slightest hint of regret at what she was doing. In fact, Daphne was pretty sure Akane was enjoying what she was doing to them.
'Not that I can blame her.' Daphne thought, still in shock to learn Akane wasn't a Muggleborn, but actually a Pureblood and heiress of two families.
Along with being disgusted at what had happened, being betrayed by her own godfather and a distant cousin like that. It's no wonder she's finally let her darkness out. Not to mention, now having allies of her own and an actual Kyūbi as well.
'I'm really thankful this didn't happen back in the First Year.' Thought Daphne, feeling some relief that Akane's change didn't happen in First Year, otherwise she very well could have died when they bumped into each other.
While aside from that revelation and the subsequent torture and murder for Malfoy, Crabbe, Goyle, Nott, and Bulstrode. Daphne also focused on the other information that was revealed, the fact that Defense Against the Dark Arts was now just the Dark Arts and they had a new professor as well. The Greengrass Heiress unable to deny her curiosity and interest to see what this Mikoto Uchiha had to teach them, even if they didn't have wands to use.
Not to mention that they'd now have, hopefully, an actual teacher for History of Magic, with it being the Dragon's niece of all beings as well. And judging by her name, Daphne could guess that Liquidelle was likely Bai Tza's daughter, so she'll probably be meeting her soon. Given her position as Bai Tza's Familiar, Daphne just hoped Bai Tza would still keep her word and protect Astoria.
Just then, her door opened with Astoria herself walking in, with Daphne noticing how her sister was shaking.
"Hey Tori, can't sleep." Daphne said, already knowing the answer, given she doubts a lot of students will be able to sleep after what they just saw.
With Astoria nodding with a shiver, before going over and sitting beside Daphne, the older girl wrapping an arm around her shoulder.
"Yo-you s-sa-said H-Hog-Hogwarts w-wa-was d-d-da-dangerous. I-I d-di-didn't th-think i-it's b-be th-this d-d-d-da-dan-dangerous." Stuttered Astoria, terrified at what she had seen.
Her entire life, their parents had taught her and Daphne about what it means to be a Pureblood. That their status, heritage, and bloodline made them stand above those like Magical Creatures, Half-Bloods, Blood Traitors, and Muggleborns. And that all Purebloods needed to stick together against those that have betrayed or dirtied the Magical World.
Then, when Daphne came home after her first year at Hogwarts, Astoria had been confused when her sister pulled her aside and told her that Hogwarts was dangerous. That she needed to be careful with how she acted and what she said. She wouldn't clarify what she meant, only that under no circumstances was she to tell their parents or anyone else.
Astoria had been confused by this the entire summer, even more so when Daphne began secretly telling her that it didn't matter if you were a Pureblood or not. If you were human or a Magical Creature, only that you were on the winning side, no matter what that would be. It had confused her each day, up to the point they both could finally go to Hogwarts.
And now, the brunette finally understood what her sister meant.
After all, how can Purebloods be better than others, when she saw five Pureblood Heirs be tortured and killed like they were nothing. The only thing that mattered, was making sure you didn't get on the wrong side of Akane Uzumaki and the Demon Sorcerers.
"I know, I'm sorry I couldn't tell you more. But I was being watched, everyone was being watched by those things, the Shadowkhan. If anyone tried speaking about the demons, they'd capture or kill us and anyone we tell, and then the Dragon would burn us alive. I just wanted to try and make sure you knew what to expect and be ready." Daphne said.
"What are we going to do?" Asked Astoria, fearful of how they could survive an entire year here.
"We don't do anything to make the Dragon think we're going to betray him, along with not getting involved if something happens. As for Akane, I…think we're safe from her targeting us, since we're…friends, I guess. But don't do anything that might upset her." Daphne answered, not sure if she and Akane could be considered friends, but figured it'd be good to stay on her good side rather than risk her anger being directed at them.
Astoria merely nodding, taking comfort in her sisters' presence and reassurance that they'll be able to survive the year.
*With Hermione*
Meanwhile, Hermione sat in her bed with the curtains pulled closed as she tried processing everything she had just seen and witnessed.
On one hand, she was horrified by what happened to Akane and what she had just done, torturing and killing those five without a hint of mercy. Sure she knew Malfoy, Crabbe, Goyle, Nott, and Bulstrode were bullies and enjoyed picking on others, especially Muggleborns and Half-Bloods, they were still human beings and children. Yet Akane had killed them like they were nothing. The brunette feeling like her friend was completely different person than she was last year.
Going from someone who was resigned to what happened, knowing there was nothing she could do to change things. Now being someone that fully supported the demon's taking over, and willing to kill or hurt anyone that dares crosses her.
While on the other hand, Hermione could at least understand her reasoning for doing what she did and was in the right for wanting to get revenge.
Losing her entire family after they were betrayed by her own godfather and relative, then having her memories of them taken away, believing she was just an orphan whose parents died. Only to suddenly learn her entire life was a lie and the fact that everything that should have been hers was stolen away.
'I can't even imagine what that's like.' Hermione thought, not able to even think of what Akane must have felt, that her name wasn't even her real one, that she had a different life, and it was all taken away because of greedy and selfish people.
Hermione was terrified of how much Akane has changed, but she also couldn't judge her for what she's done and everything she'll probably do. As the brunette couldn't deny, if she was in the whiskered redhead's position…she'd probably do the same thing.
She just hoped that her friend hasn't changed completely, and that some part of her is still the same.
*With Harry*
"I knew she was nothing but a Dark Witch! Working with demons, freeing them and helping them take over the school, killing Dumbledore! Now she's just taking care of the competition, not wanting to deal with any Junior Death Eaters!" Ron said, scowling as he sat on his bed, not surprised by Akane's actions, having "known" she'd eventually attack the Slytherins to clear away the "competition" of becoming the next Dark Lord/Lady.
While Harry sat in his own bed and simply nodded along silently, though internally, he believed the actions were justified after what happened to Akane. And as much he didn't like it, Harry couldn't ignore that he and Akane were rather similar in that regard, both of them having lost their parents to Voldemort and his followers. Being sent somewhere they were both hated and had no choice in going, and not knowing anything but lies about themselves and their parents.
Though he honestly wasn't sure which was worse, him being too young to even remember his parents, only knowing about them through those that knew them and pictures. Or Akane, who got the chance to be raised by her parents, only for it to all be taken away when they were killed while her memories were erased.
Never knowing who your parents are but hearing how great they were or knowing who they are, but to have your memories of them taken away. While the boy didn't know which situation was worse, he did know that they both sucked.
But the difference between him and Akane, the Uzumaki was taking her revenge on those that wronged her and is going to make them suffer.
'Wish I could do the same to the Dursleys.' Harry thought darkly, wishing he had a chance to make his relatives suffer for everything they've done to him over the years.
Starving him and locking him in the cupboard if anything "unusual" happened, verbally and emotionally abusing him for years, insulting his parents before he learned the truth, Dudley and his friends chasing him for "Harry Hunting". Not to mention his "Aunt" Marge hitting him on the shins with her walking stick for beating Dudley at musical statues, for the latter's fifth birthday. And sicking her bulldog on him, chasing him up a tree and only calling it off at midnight.
Not even counting the locks on his door and the bars on the window, after the incident with Dobby, before he was taken by the Shadowkhan.
And after seeing what Akane did to those Slytherins, it made him wish he could do something like that to his relatives. Though not a moment later, Harry quickly shook his head, not wanting to think like that or torture his relatives like Akane tortured the Slytherins. Knowing no matter how bad his relatives were, that would be going way too far. At most, he'd simply want to give them a good scare to start treat him better.
He wouldn't torture or kill them, no matter how angry they could make him sometimes.
*With Ginny*
Within her own dorm room, Ginny Weasley was writing furiously within her diary, having initially discovered it in her cauldron after the trip to Diagon Alley. Having figured someone left it in there or her parents got it for her in secret, as a means to have something to confide in.
Though when she first wrote in it, Ginny had been shocked that what she wrote disappeared, being replaced with different words and hand-writing. With the Diary introducing itself as Tom, with Ginny not sure if he was even real, only believing it was just a cleverly charmed diary that would respond to what she wrote.
It helped the girl, having someone to confide in, writing about how her brother's tease her, having to come to school with second-hand robes and books, and how she thought Harry would never like her. Feeling better with how Tom would respond and offer advice, making Ginny happy at feeling like she had her own personal friend, who'd always be there to help her.
And right now, Ginny really needed help.
It's horrible!
Hogwarts is nothing like I've heard about, everything is just wrong!
Calm down Ginny. Tell me exactly what you mean, why is Hogwarts horrible and wrong?
I…I don't know how to start. Hogwarts is being controlled by a giant demon that looks like a Dragon, and it can speak! It…it said that it killed Dumbledore, it actually killed the most powerful wizard alive or was alive. And it has a Familiar to, a student named Akane Uzumaki, and everyone just saw her torture and kill five Slytherins! I mean…I guess she might have some justification given what happened to her…but it was still horrible to watch and see!
But now I know why my brothers were more subdued when they came home, since Fred and George have even stopped pulling pranks after they got home from Hogwarts. I'm just really scared right now and don't know what to do.
…
…
…
Tom?
Ginny looked the Diary in worry, wondering why she wasn't going to get a response, but was relieved when she saw the familiar handwriting appear.
Sorry, I was just…surprised to learn all this. That demons actually exist, with one now controlling Hogwarts and even having killed Dumbledore.
You say it has a student as a Familiar?
Yes, Akane Uzumaki, I think she's a Ravenclaw.
Well, I'm not sure what you could do Ginny. Though perhaps you could try getting close to Akane, to learn more about her and the demon. Perhaps even a way to stop it.
M-Me?! Stop a…a demon?!
No, I didn't mean you Ginny, no offense. But I meant learn of a potential way and then hopefully, you can inform the right people of what's happening so they can stop the demon.
O-oh, right…sorry. I'm just scared of everything that's happening.
It's perfectly understandable, I'm sure everyone in the school is scared. You just have to be brave Ginny, and everything will work out, alright.
Alright, thank you Tom.
Of course. Now you best try and get some sleep, you are still in school after all and have classes to attend.
Ginny nodded before putting the Diary away in her trunk, getting into bed to try and get some sleep, despite everything that had happened.
Though unknown to Ginny, Tom, otherwise known as Lord Voldemort, was now intrigued at this new information and how he could use it for his resurrection. All while he wondered if he could potentially use one of these demons to restore himself and perhaps gain the demon's power as well.
*With Shendu*
Meanwhile Shendu sat within his restored throne room, waiting for one of his informants to arrive, having summoned them for questioning and with a special task. And as if summoned, a Shadowkhan rose up from the ground with said informant.
The informant being a teenage girl, with short, spiky bubblegum pink hair, pale skin, a heart-shaped face, and dark twinkling eyes. While wearing black boots, black leather pants with dark purple trimming, a red tank top, and a reddish-purple leather jacket, with a gray hood attached.
This was Nymphadora Tonks, a Seventh Year that had graduated last year, and like all the Seventh Years that had graduated last year, they worked for Shendu. Not by choice of course, but for their own self-preservation, they worked as the Dragon's informants and spies in the Wizarding World. Since while Shendu knew his Shadowkhan were useful in spying on basically anyone, he'd rather be safe than sorry and have witches and wizards as spies as well, just in case his Shadowkhan miss something.
Like how the now dead Malfoy boy believed he didn't know about his little revenge plan with that Diary in Ginny Weasley's possession.
Yes, Shendu was aware of what Draco had been planning, to use that Diary to get revenge on him for killing his father. Having learned about what his father intended to do with it, using the Diary as a means to discredit Arthur Weasley and his Muggle Protection Act, if it ever looked like it was coming close to being made into a law. With the Malfoy Family's allies in the ministry informing him and his mother that with Lucious, Fudge, and Umbridge dead, it's more likely to be made into an actual law rather than just a bill.
The boy seeing a chance to kill two birds with one stone, getting revenge on Shendu and fulfilling his father's plan as well. Not even realizing that Shendu had allowed him to go through with his little plan as a means to test Akane. With the Demon Sorcerer playing ignorant to what's going on all as a means to test his Familiar and see how she figures it out herself.
"You uh…you wanted to see me sir?" Tonks asked nervously at the reason she was summoned.
"Yes I did Nymphadora." Said Shendu, smirking when Tonk's hair turned a burning red color.
"Do-" Said Tonks before quickly catching herself, always getting angry when someone called her by her first name but knew it wouldn't be wise to mouth off to the Dragon.
It made Shendu's smirk widened, as this is why he considered Tonks one of his more useful informants, the fact that she was a Metamorphmagus. Possessing a power similar to the Rat Talisman, where she could change her appearance, age, even her gender to look completely different, even being capable of turning into animals as well. Making her the perfect spy and infiltrator, as she could quite literally hide in plain sight with her ability.
Along with why she was specifically chosen for the assignment he has for her.
"Now then I have an assignment for you. But first, tell me about this new Minister of Magic, Rufus Scrimgeour. Will he be a problem?" Shendu said, wanting to know if he has to kill another minister.
"Uh…I'm not really sure. My mum told me that Scrimgeour is a "man of action" and fought against a lot of Dark Wizards throughout his career as an Auror, along with more decisive and forceful than Fudge was, and that he doesn't underestimate his enemies. But he's also shown to care more about the ministry's reputations, rather than the safety of the magic community. He doesn't suspect anything about what's going on here, but if he does, he's keeping things quiet and maintaining the appearance of safety and security." Replied Tonks, with Shendu nodding, while seeing that at most, Scrimgeour may be an annoyance but wouldn't be an actual threat.
And if he did prove to be a threat, then he'll die like his predecessor.
"Good. Now then, for your assignment. You will be infiltrating the Aurors within the ministry, learn the strengths and weaknesses of everyone, along with the numbers, and if any of them have any suspicions of what's going on. And to help with your task, a gift." Said Shendu as a wand floated towards Tonks.
The teen hesitantly grabbing it, before gasping as she felt a rush of power go through her, similar to when she got her original wand but only greater and more powerful.
"Woah…" Tonks muttered in amazement.
"A wand, the first I have made for my followers to use. Of course, they can't be used against me either." Said Shendu, while narrowing his eyes at Tonks in case she got any ideas, with the pinkette gulping but nodded quickly.
Doubting she'd even be fast enough to get a spell out before she was killed, along with the fact she doubted any spell would even work.
"O-of course. I guess I'll…get going then to enroll in the Auror Academy." Tonks said, inwardly glad she'll still get the chance to become an Auror, even if it's just as a spy for Shendu.
"Before you go, you should know that your cousin, Draco Malfoy, has been met with an unfortunate accident. And it's highly unlikely he'll recover. That doesn't bother you, does it?" Shendu said, while observing Tonks closely for her reaction.
With the Metamorphmagus thinking it over for a few moments, before shrugging.
"Not really. We're basically only cousins by blood and he was always a stuck-up prat. I'm sure Aunt Cissy will be upset though." Replied Tonks, not all that broken up or caring about what happened to her cousin, something that made Shendu's smirk widen.
"I'm sure. You may go now Nymphadora, the wards are down, so you may test your new wand if you wish." Shendu said, with Tonks nodding before she Apparated away.
Once she was gone, Shendu leaned back in his throne with a pleased smirk.
While the wand he gave her was to help keep up appearance and does work like a normal one, it had a few other functions as well. One being so he can monitor his followers more closely and always know exactly where they are. Even if they get rid of the wand, it'd be permanently bonded with whoever grabbed it, making it impossible to be discarded. As it'd always teleport right back to them, along with being impossible to be destroyed or broken.
And another feature, is to help draw out and amplify the darkness within the wielder, making it so they'd be more likely to be loyal to Shendu. Along with weeding out any potential traitors that'd use the wands against him, as they'd immediately be reduced to ash if they tried to, or even thought about it.
The fact that Tonks showed not a hint of care or worry about what potentially could have happened to Malfoy, shows she has plenty of darkness within her. And that she wasn't reduced to ash immediately also shows that she'll be loyal as well.
'And soon, we'll see who here will be nothing but ashes in the wind.' Shendu thought, knowing there will be plenty of students and teachers that might try something.
And it'll certainly be enjoyable to see the reactions of the survivors when they realize he's still very much in control.
*Daolon Wong's Castle*
Meanwhile, within her room in Daolon Wong's Castle, Jade looked over three blue-skinned beings, with glowing red eyes, and wearing black clothing. With one wielding a double-ended scythe, the second wearing claws on its fists, and the third having numerous throwing knives strapped to its chest, arms, legs, sides, and back.
These were Jade's Dark Chi Warriors, having managed to successfully conjure them after being given the spell to summon Dark Chi Warriors by Daolon Wong. Something that actually impressed the Dark Chi Wizard, given how difficult it is to summon Dark Chi Warriors. Even more so, with how powerful they are. Given how they easily defeated his own Chi Warriors, Gan, Ren, and Chui.
Jade was simply pleased at having them for when she finally finds Shendu, even better that they're able to smell magic as well. Though she was also annoyed, and even a little angry, at how closely they resembled the Shadowkhan. Hating the reminder of Shendu's own servants and what he did to Jackie and Uncle.
'Just wait you overgrown gecko, I'm gonna send you back where you belong, in as many pieces as I can.' Jade thought darkly, before grabbing her head, not noticing her eyes glow red for a brief moment nor that slight blue tinge of her skin.
Though while Jade didn't notice her brief transformation, her current Master did.
'Interesting, her appearance seems to have resembled that of a Shadowkhan for a brief moment. She hasn't been branded with the Mark of Tarakudo, so the only other possible way is…' Daolon Wong thought, before shaking his head in dismissal.
'No, while not impossible, it is highly unlikely.' The Dark Chi Wizard thought, highly doubting that Jade could be the direct descendant of a Shadowkhan, if not one of the Oni Generals.
*Timeskip-One Day*
*Hogwarts*
Mikoto stood within her new classroom and looked over at the gathered students, having already planned what to teach them after being given the position by Shendu.
"Alright class, welcome to your first Dark Arts lesson, please call me Professor Uchiha or Uchiha-Sensei. Before we begin though, I'd like to clear up a misconception you all have. First of all, there's no such thing as Dark Magic or Light Magic, there's only magic. It all depends on the person using it and their intent that determines if it's good or bad. For instances, you were all taught the Levitation Charm last year, while that charm appears harmless, it could be used to injure or even kill someone. Like say if you levitated a large boulder over someone and dropped it on top of them. Or levitated someone over a ravine and then dropped them. Another is the Full Body-Bind Curse, Petrificus Totalus, which can be used to render anyone completely helpless, leaving them at the mercy of their attackers to be tortured, killed, or worse. Even something like Lumos could be dangerous, if enough magic is put into it, it could render someone permanently blind. More obvious ones are Incendio, Diffindo, and Bombarda, that can be used to burn someone alive, cut their throats, and blow up part of their bodies, respectively." Mikoto explained, with most of the class paling at hearing several "harmless" spells could be used so lethally.
"The reverse is also true, dark curses could be used for good, even ones like the Unforgivable Curses as you call them." Said Mikoto, making several students gasp in shock and horror, with Hermione raising her hand.
"Yes, Hermione is it." Mikoto said, while looking at the brunette, who was also one of her goddaughters friends here at Hogwarts.
"Professor, how could you say the Unforgivables could be used for good? They control, torture, and kill people. How could they ever be used for good?" Hermione asked, horrified at how any one of those curses could be considered good.
"Let me answer that with a question of my own. What would you do if you saw someone in complete pain and agony? Saw that they were suffering a slow and painful death, and there was nothing you could do to help them? Would you simply standby and watch as they suffered in their final moments, or would you give them mercy by killing them quickly with the Killing Curse?" Mikoto asked, looking at Hermione before looking around at the classroom.
"Anyone? What about if you saw someone being held captive or someone who was at risk of hurting themselves? Would you waste time thinking of doing something or use the Imperius Curse to save those held captive, while the person holding them is under your control. Or stop someone from hurting themselves, so they could get help?" Asked Mikoto, looking around to see if anyone had an answer, but saw the students were still silent.
"What if someone was suffering from a heart attack or a stroke, and their body begins shutting down? Would you try using a method that might save them or give them a short burst of pain with the Cruciatus, to get their body starting again?" Mikoto said, seeing her students still looked unsure, but also saw some thinking as well.
"While I'm not saying you should go around and use these methods every day, simply that you shouldn't dismiss them as either Dark Magic or Light Magic. They are simply magic, that can all be used for good or evil. Only something such as a Necromancy, and other such magics, could truly be considered Dark Magic. And even then, they can be used for good, such as summoning the soul of a deceased loved one, to give someone closure or the chance to ask them for advice. That is what I will be teaching all of you, how to use the Dark Arts and how to fight against them. Now then, let's begin." Said Mikoto, before she began instructing her class.
So, what did you think, good. Yep we see how some of the students are reacting to Akane's change, along with seeing Harry is starting to have his own dark thoughts about his relatives. We then see Shendu summoning Tonks, learning he not only has all former Seventh Years working as his spies, but that he is aware of Draco's plan, but didn't do anything about it as to test Akane. Before giving Tonks a new wand and mission to infiltrate the Aurors, along with seeing the affect the new wand is already having on her. Next we see Jade having summoned her own Dark Chi Warriors that appear different to Daolon Wong's, and possibly a hint of Jade being less than human (which does make sense given if you look back at how the Mark of Tarakudo affected Jade and Tohru, with Jade managing to resist it for a long time and retain her self-awareness to become Queen of the Shadowkhan, while Tohru succumbed immediately and became feral). Finally we see Mikoto's first Dark Arts class, while starting the process of removing the black and white views from the students minds. So, review if you liked go away if you didn't.
Storm out
