CHAPTER 25

A couple of days later, Bella was at home, looking through her emails, when a knock on her door interrupted her thought process.

"Come in," Bella called. Rachel walked in and Bella turned her head.

"What are you doing here?" Bella snapped. Rachel closed her door and faced her.

"I'm going to Finn's house. I'm going to pretend to see Kurt but I really want to see Finn. I'm gonna make him talk to me and he'll let me explain and he'll see how much I regret hurting him and that he and I belong together. I just wanted to tell you so you could brace yourself." Rachel said.

"Rachel… Finn doesn't want you within 2 feet of him. Honestly, I think you just need to accept that he doesn't love you anymore." Bella remarked.

"And you think he loves you?" Rachel asked.

"He could love me. I'm not the one who cheated on him." Bella spat.

"Bella, I need Finn in my life." Rachel cried.

"You don't deserve Finn, frankly I don't think I do either. He's such an amazing individual, only the most flawless woman should be with him." Bella said. "I think you know, in your heart of hearts, he was much happier when he was with me than when he was with you."

"I'm not giving up on him, Bella." Rachel growled, standing her ground.

"Neither am I, Rachel. If you manage to get Finn to get back together with you and work things out, I'll back off. But until that day comes, I'm going to show him that I love him, and that things WILL be different if he chooses me." Bella stated. Rachel scowled at her.

"I guess this ends our friendship then." Rachel said. Bella rolled her eyes at Rachel's melodramaticism.

"I still see you as a friend Rachel, but I've always loved Finn. We deserve our happiness without you in the way…"

HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Half an hour later, Finn was at home, in a black tanktop and shorts, assembling a pool table for him and Burt in the den. Suddenly, just as he was about to finish, the doorbell rang. He wiped his greasy, dirty hands and walked up to the door. He walked over to the door and saw Rachel standing there, a parcel in her arms. He groaned.

"Great." Finn muttered under his breath. At that moment, Kurt walked up behind them.

"Hi, Finn. I brought you some banana bread, your favorite." Rachel smiled.

"It's not really my favorite anymore. I'm not really into sweets as much." Finn said. Rachel looked down at the pan and handed it to Kurt.

"Rachel and I were gonna have a musical dvd night. You wanna join us?" Kurt asked.

"No thanks. I'm just gonna be in my room." Finn said and walked up the stairs. Rachel followed him.

"Finn, uhm… could we please talk. Please, just give me 10 minutes." Rachel begged, rushing up the stairs towards him.

"2."Finn snapped.

"8."Rachel pleaded.

"4."Finn countered.

"7."Rachel said.

"You have 5 minutes and you just lost 30 seconds." Finn growled. Rachel eventually nodded and they walked to his room.

"Finn, I just think we should air out all our problems. I mean maybe if we do that then maybe we could…" Rachel said.

"Could what? Rachel, when you came here and you saw me, what did you expect to happen? Did you think you would say I'm sorry and everything would be okay again?" Finn asked.

"No… yes… maybe. Finn, I love you. I need you to know that I love you. I made a mistake. A stupid huge mistake, but I love you. I know you're pissed at me, and I know what I did was wrong. I didn't want to hurt you." Rachel cried.

"You didn't want to hurt me? Okay, so when you kissed another guy, you didn't think it would hurt me? You trusted Santana over me! You kissed Puck because you knew it would hurt most! Who knows how far it would've gotten If he didn't walk out of there?! Finn exclaimed.

"Finn, please, I promise you, it will never ever happen again." Rachel said.

"Yeah, you're right. It won't happen again. It won't happen because I won't let you have my heart again. I don't want you to ever make me feel that way ever again." Finn growled.

"Finn, please… I'll prove to you that I love you and I am worthy of your love." Rachel cried. Finn shook his head and sat at his computer chair. Rachel sighed and walked towards the door. She was about to leave when Finn spoke again.

"By the way..." Finn called. Rachel turned around and smiled. Finn turned his head towards her, grinning.

"You know those insanely expensive earrings I got you for Christmas that you loved so much… I pawned them a week ago." He stated. The smile on Rachel's face quickly faded away and sheer shock took over.

"W-What?" She stammered.

"I pawned your engagement. I got a crap ton of money out of it too." Finn smiled.

"What did you do with the money from the earrings?" Rachel asked. Finn got up and walked out the door. Rachel reluctantly followed him and Finn went into the garage. As she followed him inside, she saw a sleek, black sports car.

"Well, because my car was destroyed in the fire, I used the insurance to buy a broken Chevrolet Corvette and used the money from the earrings to fix it and get a paint job." Finn smirked.

"You-you bought a new car with the earrings you bought me." Rachel murmured, tears springing to her eyes. She thought, for as long as Finn kept the earrings, that meant that he still loved her.

"You gave it back, remember." Finn reminded her.

"I don't understand." Rachel stammered. Finn looked at her, confused.

"You dont understand what exactly? You cheated on me, remember? Rachel, do you have any idea how hard it was to get over you? Please just leave me alone and kiss someone else. You were so willing to do it before." Finn snapped.

"Why can't we just get past this and move on?" Rachel pleaded.

"You really think I'd give you my heart again after you broke it the way you did? No Rachel! I wont be that stupid again." Finn said and he slammed the door in her face. Finn then collapsed on his bed and started playing his guitar, plucking a soft melody.

Laying in the silence

Waiting for the sirens

Signs, any signs I'm alive still

I don't wanna lose it

But I'm not getting through this

Hey, should I pray, should I fray

To myself, to a god

To a saviour who can...

Unbreak the broken

Unsay these spoken words

Find hope in the hopeless

Pull me out the train wreck

Unburn the ashes

Unchain the reactions

I'm not ready to die, not yet

Pull me out the train wreck

Pull me out, pull me out, pull me out

Pull me out, pull me out

Underneath our bad blood

We still got a sanctum

Home, still at home, still at home, yeah

It's not too late to build it back

'Cause a one in a million chance

Is still a chance, still a chance

And I would take those odds

Unbreak the broken

Unsay these spoken words

Find hope in the hopeless

Pull me out the train wreck

Unburn the ashes

Unchain the reactions

I'm not ready to die, not yet

Pull me out the train wreck

Pull me out, pull me out, pull me out

Pull me out, pull me out, pull me out

You can say what you like don't say I wouldn't die for it

I'm down on my knees and I need you to be my god

Be my help, be a saviour who can

Unbreak the broken

Unsay these reckless words

Find hope in the hopeless

Pull me out the train wreck

Unburn the ashes

Unchain the reactions

I'm not ready to die, not yet

Pull me out the train wreck

Pull me out, pull me out, pull me out

Pull me out, pull me out, pull me out

Finn finished the song with tears in his eyes. He was an absolute mess. The vicious Rachel-Bella-Finn love triangle he was in was really messing with his head. He eventually passed out on his bed, not noticing Kurt standing in the doorway, watching his miserable brother with a huge frown on his face. Him and Finn were extremely close and it killed him to see Finn in so much pain.

HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

The next night, Rachel got a text from none other than Finn and her heart soared. The message read…

Meet me at the McKinley auditorium. Finn

Rachel practically sprinted to the auditorium but the person she saw there wasn't Finn - the love of her life. It was the last person she expected, and wanted, to see. It was Bella, and Bella looked equally displeased to see her.

"What are you doing here?" Rachel snapped.

"I could ask you the same thing." She responded.

"Finn texted me and told me to come." Rachel spat. Bella raised an eyebrow.

"Funny. He texted me and told me the same." She replied. Rachel scowled at her.

"Well, I don't know why he texted you but he probably wants to get back together with me." Rachel snapped. Bella's face tightened but she remained calm.

"Look, Rachel, we both want Finn. I know that. But that doesn't give you an excuse to be a bitch." Bella murmured.

"Excuse me?!" Rachel shouted. "Who do you think you are? Finn and I have had chemistry from before your sorry ass arrived in Lima! His short fling with you was nothing more than a small blip in the road."

"Fling? FLING?!" Bella started to raise her voice as well, losing her calm. "Finn loved me so much more than he ever loved you. So if you would just back the hell off, that would be nice!"

"Me? You back the hell off! Finn's mine!"

"No, he's mine!" Bella responded.

"ENOUGH!" A voice boomed from the back of the room. The girls swivelled around to see Kurt walking towards them.

"Kurt? Y-y-you sent the message?" Rachel stammered. Kurt nodded.

"Yes, I did. And necessarily so. You two are acting like animals! Fighting over Finn like he's a piece of meat! He's a human being! A human being whose mind and mental health is being torn to shreds by your incessant fighting over him. You say you both truly love Finn, but has it ever occured to you to think about his best interest. To think about what's best for him. I think you both know that Finn needs to be without either of you for the next little while. Let him be single."

"But what if he falls in love again?" Rachel whispered, tears streaming down her face.

"If he falls in love again, he falls in love again. That's his choice!" Kurt shouted. Then, his voice softened a little bit. "Look, I don't know what's going to happen in the future, but what I do know is that the two of you fighting over him like hyenas over a slab of raw meat isn't helping either of you! He's hurting, guys. He's really hurting. In a period of one year, he's lost not only three girlfriends, but three of his best friends. He feels… alone. Like he's drowning. You both need to leave him alone, okay?"

"Okay."
