CHAPTER 38
In the safehouse in Tongi, Khalid was playing a round of Call of Duty on his PS4 with his friend, Omar. There were guards all around him, and there were guards patrolling all entrances and the roof of the building. The building was impenetrable… to a normal man that was. But they hadn't met Finn Hudson. All of the security were on high alert, given that they knew that Finn was going after Khalid. There were snipers on rooftops, booby traps set, armed guards, everything. So many that they didn't notice Finn silently picking them off one by one. He stabbed one of the snipes in the back with a knife, and he shot another with his silenced pistol. He then grabbed the sniper rifle and the radio and he crouched on the rooftop.
"Position 3? Check in." One of the guards said into the radio.
"Check." Finn replied in an unidentifiable tone. They just assumed that everything was fine, and Finn scoped into his sniper rifle, looking into the apartment. He saw Omar with his head down, hunched over the TV.
"Will you stop playing that damn game?!" Khalid snapped at his friend. His friend obliged, but not by choice. Omar stopped playing because a bullet had just impaled his skull. Khalid and his guards realised what was happening.
"GET DOWN! GET DOWN!" One of the guards shouted, roughly shoving Khalid to the ground. Finn sniped all of the guards who were patrolling the outside of the building, and the other guards tugged Khalid towards the basement car park, just as Finn had expected. Moments later, Finn took out a remote detonator from his pocket and clicked the red button. In the car park, all three of the getaway cars blew up, incinerating every single one of the guards. Because Khalid was sitting in the back seat, he was spared though. He didn't die from the blast. He stumbled out of the burning car and he started to run through the car park. He didn't get far though. Finn quickly made it to him and shot him in the stomach, wounding him even further. Khalid collapsed to the ground, on the brink of death but not quite yet. Finn stood over the man as he coughed blood. Khalid opened his mouth to shout but only a quiet rasp came out.
"It was only a fucking gi…"
Finn didn't let him finish the sentence. Finn fired a second bullet into the head of Khalid, finally killing him. Finn then walked out of the wreckage of the garage. He had completed his mission. Well, almost completed his mission. He had wiped out the entire organisation but there was still one whale he had to catch before he could even think about going home…
HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Tina and Santana walked into the choir room together.
"I've been to Ann Taylor Loft, Filene's Basement and like 6 Forever 21s, and I cannot find a dress I like." Tina said to her friend. "I'm gonna be forced to make my own dress for prom."
"Don't, you'll seem poor." Brittany commented, sassily.
"You can't make your own dress! Prom is like our Oscars. It's seriously like the most important night of our lives." Santana exclaimed.
"What about getting married?" Tina asked.
"Oh, you can get married as many times as you want. You only have one shot at your junior prom." Quinn said. Suddenly, Mercedes walked into the room.
"What are you guys talking about?" Mercedes asked, grumpily. She had been in a bad mood all week.
"Prom dresses." Tina answered.
"Thank God I don't have to worry about that. I'm not going." Mercedes grumbled.
"Why not?" Kurt asked, confused.
"Because nobody's asked me." She replied. Before anyone could say anything else, Mr. Schue walked into the room. He walked straight to the board and wrote one word… Prom. He then turned back to the class.
"All right guys… Prom."
"Please tell me we're not doing songs about Proms." Sam pleaded. Everyone laughed.
"Nope. We are the prom." Mr. Schue answered. "Figgins has asked us to perform. Now I know this isn't ideal with Nationals coming up, but we really don't have a choice. And we could really use the money. But I know that prom is a special rite of passage. I'm gonna make sure that all of you guys get a chance to enjoy the dance too. So, we're gonna stagger the performances so that each and every one of you has plenty of time to dance with your dates."
Mercedes suddenly stood up.
"Excuse me." She said, and then walked out of the room. Mr. Schue raised an eyebrow.
"What's up with her?" he asked.
"Mercedes doesn't have a date for prom." Quinn explained.
"So? I don't have a date." Bella said. "I'm just going to dance and spend a fun night with my friends."
"Yeah, but you actually have a boyfriend. Mercedes doesn't." Santana remarked. Bella looked down at the ground, a single tear running down her cheek at the thought of her boyfriend. Well, ex-boyfriend. No, boyfriend. Finn would always be her boyfriend. He was alive. She knew it. There was a feeling in her stomach that let her know. A tether of some sort. He wasn't dead, but she knew he was close to it. Santana noticed Bella's expression and her face softened. "Look, Bella. I didn't mean it…"
"It's fine, Santana." Bella stated. "He's not here. I've just got to live with it."
"Bella, it's okay to be upset. It's prom. Of course you'd want him here! You don't have to not be upset." Quinn murmured to her friend.
"Upset? Of course I'm upset! Selfishly, I'm angry at him for leaving me. For causing me all of these lonely nights for the past few months. For all of the heartache, and sorrow, and misery, and anger I've felt. But then I feel even worse because the reason he's not here right now is me!"
"Bella, Finn made his decision knowing full-well the situation." Kurt said. Bella nodded.
"I know. It's just… it's hard, you know?"
"Look, babe, you're not alone." Santana said. "We've all got your back."
"Yeah." Kurt agreed.
Rachel suddenly stood up. "I'm gonna go talk to Mercedes." She said, leaving the room.
HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Finn made it back to the Continental later that day, and he handed his room key back to the front desk clerk.
"Thank you." Finn said.
"Our pleasure, sir." The man replied. He then handed Finn a parcel. "A parting gift from the management. A compensation for last night's unfortunate… incident." He explained. Finn opened it to reveal a set of car keys. Finn thanked the man and walked out of the hotel. He got into the car and drove away. He was set to meet a man to whom he now owed so much to. A man who, a year ago, he considered his worst enemy…
An hour later, Finn was at a bridge, overlooking a stream, when Jack Daniels walked over to him. He smirked at Finn.
"How many times do I have to save your ass?" Jack remarked. Finn nodded.
"I appreciate it."
"Of course. Hey, you look terrible."
"No. I look retired." Finn stated. Jack raised an eyebrow.
"Retired? You really believe that?"
Across the bridge, sitting in her car, was Perkins, the assassin sent to kill Finn. She watched as the two men shook hands and she took a picture, proving that Jack was no longer faithful to their side. She sent it on and gritted her teeth.
"You had a life. You'll find your way back to it." Jack remarked. "It's time to go home, Finn."
Later that night, Jack was walking in the street when he was cornered by four men, Viggo at the head of them. Jack sighed and got down on his hands and knees.
"Let's get on with this. Whatever the fuck this is." He said. BANG!
HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
As Finn was driving to the airport, he heard his phone ringing. He picked it up.
"This is Finn." He growled into the phone.
"I appreciate you granting my son a swift death." Asif said into the phone. Finn didn't say anything and Asif chuckled. "I wouldn't know how to reply to that either. Jack betrayed me. And in so doing, he broke the cardinal rule. So Finn, I had no choice. Bang!"
Finn gritted his teeth. He knew that for a traitor like Jack, although he had helped Finn, death was inevitable. Finn spun the car around and zoomed back towards Asif's compound. He was wrong. He couldn't leave now. He now had one more person to avenge.
HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Ms. Perkins was also walking in the streets that night when she was cornered by about ten people. However, rather than Viggo or Asif, it was Jackowski.
"Ms. Perkins." He murmured. "Your membership to the Continental has been, by thine own hand, revoked.
With that, Perkins was shot in the head by the men and Jackowski and his crew walked away. There were strict rules to follow in the Continental and strict rules have strict punishments. As he strutted away, Jackowski pulled out his phone and called someone. Finn answered immediately.
"Hello?"
"I know what you're thinking, Finn." He said. "We live by a strict code. Which is why I'm not the one telling you that a certain helicopter at a certain helipad is being fuelled for a certain someone."
HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
At the docks, an SUV containing Viggo and Asif pulled up to a helipad. Those two men were literally the only two living remaining men from what was once the biggest crime organisation in South East Asia. An organisation that had crumbled to the hands of one, single man.
Finn sped towards the docks as fast as he could. He didn't know if he was going to make it. He did though, making it behind the SUV as they drove.
"Who is that behind us?" Asif snapped. Viggo spun around and groaned.
"Oh fuck!" He exclaimed. "Ok, come on! Let's go faster! Let's go! Helicopter's right there!" He shouted to the driver, who floored the accelerator.
"God damn it. I knew he'd come." Asif grumbled. Finn drove faster and faster and eventually made it beside them. He rammed into the side of the car and Viggo shouted in anger.
"What the fuck is wrong with this guy?!" He shouted. Asif merely laughed hysterically. He knew this was going to happen, and he knew that he was probably not going to live past tonight. Eventually, Finn managed to corner the SUV into driving into a wall. The SUV slowed to a halt, and the two security guards inside jumped out, machine guns raised.
"Go kill him!" Viggo shouted, desperately. Finn drove his car into the first guard, shooting him through the roof of his car as the man rolled over the roof. Finn then ran over another man, the car that Jackowski and the Continental gave him bulletproof and immune to the fire that the men were spraying at him. There was now just one person left, along with Viggo and Asif.
"Oh my God, I need a gun!" Viggo cried. Asif took a pistol out of his pocket and handed it to him.
"Here. Take it. Try your best." He snapped. Viggo grabbed it from him.
"Fucking cocksucker." Viggo spat at Asif as he stepped out of the car.
"Good luck." Asif chuckled. Almost as soon as Viggo had left the car, Finn had his eyes locked on him and he fired two bullets into Viggo's head. One man left: the leader of the organisation, Amir Asif. It was eerily quiet on the dock. Both Finn and Asif stepped out of their cars and faced each other.
"No more guns, Finn. No more bullets." Asif challenged. Finn nodded and tossed his gun away.
"Fine. No more bullets." He agreed. The two men circled each other, ready to strike but neither making the first move yet.
"It's just you and me, Finn."
"You and me." Finn growled. He looked in the man's eyes and saw the same man having kidnapped Bella a year ago. This was the man that caused so much pain, anguish and sorrow in his, Bella and his whole family's life. This was the man who made him kill at least 300 people in the past few months to get to him.
Asif attacked first but the middle-aged crime leader wsn't as good as the young assassin. Finn dodged the punch easily and threw his own uppercut, sending Asif flying backwards. Finn stalked over to Asif and dragged him to his feet by the scruff of his collar.
"What happened to you, Finn?" Asif spat. "We are professionals. Civilised."
"Do I look civilised to you?" Finn shouted, punching Asif again. Asif stumbled to his feet and this time, he took out a knife from his pocket. Finn didn't flinch though. Asif lunged at him again and this time, he got the ideal jab in. He found an opening in Finn's defenses and stabbed Finn in the stomach with the blade…
Finn stumbled backwards and he groaned in pain. There was a knife jutting out his lower abdomen. Finn gritted his teeth and pulled the blade out. He then charged at Asif, stabbing the man himself. The two of them were overcome by pain, and they lay on the ground next to each other, the fighting forgotten. Finn had stabbed Asif in a much more painful spot than Asif stabbed him, and Finn was able to get to his feet. Asif was done for though. Finn started to walk away when he heard Asif's voice cut through the silence like a… well, like a knife.
"I'll be seeing you, Finn." He called. Finn gritted his teeth and nodded. He knew exactly what the man was saying. They were both surely going to hell. After what they had done, there was no question. It could be in a year, two years, five years, ten years, twenty years, even fifty years, but they would reunite one day. Finn stumbled over to his car and collapsed inside, pain overwhelming in body, cascading over him in waves like tsunami waves…
HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
On the day of the prom, the girls and Kurt all sat together, doing their hair. It was Bella, Santana, Quinn, Tina and Kurt, and they were hanging out in Bella's bedroom. Bella had just put on her stunning silver dress and stepped out from the bathroom. Once she walked into the room, her friends all wolf-whistled.
"Daaaaaamn girl! You're looking incredible." Kurt remarked. Bella smiled faintly at him. This was going to be a long night for her, and she was so glad that her friends were trying to make it as easy as possible.
"Thanks, Kurt." She replied, quietly. Half an hour later, Quinn and Puck had left, Santana and Brittany had left, Mike and Tina had left, leaving just Bella and Kurt still in the house. Blaine would be picking both of them up any time soon and they were waiting for him to arrive. Speaking of the devil, the doorbell rang moments later. Kurt grinned and stood up.
"Our dates await, my dear." He smiled. Bella's face dropped and she shot a death glare at Kurt.
"Dates? I told you I don't won't a date!" She shouted. Kurt sighed.
"Come on, Bella. This guy is perfect for you!" Kurt exclaimed.
"I'm not going." Bella murmured, ready to change into a pair of comfy pajamas and cry herself to sleep. Kurt shook his head adamantly.
"No! You can't! I spent the whole month hyping you up to this guy. He's so excited to meet you! He'll be crushed if you don't show up." Kurt exclaimed. Bella sighed and looked down. Gritting her teeth, she nodded.
"Fine. I'll go for ONE dance with the guy. NOTHING MORE!" She demanded. Kurt nodded and grinned.
"Deal!" He replied as the two of them walked up to the main floor.
"So, who is this guy anyway?" Bella asked, curiously. Kurt shrugged.
"I met him in study hall. He seemed nice." Kurt replied, vaguely. They made it to the front door and Bella glared at him.
"Seriously, Kurt? You're going to make me go out with a guy that even you don't know that we…"
Bella's voice trailed off. They had just opened the front door to see their dates standing there: Blaine, and Bella's date beside him. Bella's heart leapt out of her mouth when she saw her date and her arms erupted with goosebumps. Standing there, dressed in a formal black tuxedo, was a man she hadn't seen for months, and a man she dreamed about every night. Smiling at her was the one and only Finn Hudson!
