Stefan Salvatore had a pure heart. He was aware of that. People had regularly told him that. He didn't really think too much of it until that day when the council caught the vampires and he had ruined everything by exposing Katherine's true identity. Damon was angry at him. He would never forgive him. Only if he saved Katherine. And he tried. He really did. He thought that it was the only thing that could save his pure heart from turning dark. He had to protect what everyone told him was pure.

And then Damon was shot. It was over. He couldn't save Katherine now. He knew that. But the emotions was overwhelming him, so he grabbed a gun. Then he was on the ground too, struggling to survive. He saw them bring Katherine away. It was over. He closed his eyes. Thought that if he accepted his destiny, maybe the pain would fade quicker.

"Christopher and Liana go help the dark haired one. Jenaya, help me with the blonde," someone yelled and Stefan soon felt someone touching him.

"He's still conscious . Liana is the other one breathing?"

"Barely."

Someone was touching his face. Stefan fought the urge to open his eyes. He didn't want to be in more pain.

"He's been shot." I female said. Fingers ghosted over the wound, but it sent a wave of pain through his body and he cried out in agony.

"Hold his shoulders. The bullet needs to come out." The female said and hands were placed on his shoulders. Then pain. Pain, pain, pain. There was no end. He screamed and cried brokenly. Fingers were pressing down the edges of his wound as if they were trying to find a splinter. Only difference was that they were searching for a bullet, not a splinter.

Then finally, the fingers were removed along with the small object, and his cries slowly died down into small whimpers. Then pain again. He could feel the magic sealing the wound shut painfully. He whined and wrenched in pain.

"Almost done baby. Almost done." Someone soothed and then the pain got all better. Thumbs brushed away the tears under his eyes.

"He's very warm," another, younger woman said concernedly.

"It's okay." The first woman said. "Help me get him out of here."

Stefan felt himself being picked up from the ground and carried away. He didn't know where to and he wasn't awake to find out either.
