Chapter One
Keefe stared at his closet. What to wear? He tried a blue blazer with black pants and brown boots. Hmmーno. He tried a casual-ish gray button-down with black slacks and black boots. Yeah, that was the one.
From his elaborate crystal nightstand, he took a small brown box decorated with a golden swirl pattern. He once again was grateful that nobody wanted to publicly execute him and his friends. They could be normal-ish again. But he had no idea what Foster filled her head with these days. He was super bored.
He opened the box. Inside was a golden ring with an amethyst gem set in the middle. Around the gem, there was an inscription: As long as you're mine, I'm yours. He took a long, deep breath. They had been dating for almost two years now, and they'd never had a single fight since the Black Swan.
She would say yes.
She had to.
