Chapter Five
Keefe and Foster went to Dex and Marella's house first. When they stepped out of the beam of light, they were greeted by Lovencrest, a house that was a combination of Slurps-and-Burps-style and the regular elvin elegance, which made it look exquisite and unique at the same time.
They strolled to the front door and clicked the button for the holographic-door-answerer. A few seconds later, Dex's face popped into view. He saw their faces and must have guessed what they were thinking because he nodded. He was about to click off when Foster said, "Tell Marella she can come if she wants!" and he nodded again. A few minutes later, he and Marella made their appearance at the front door.
"We told Opalene to go to Havenfield and help out until we get back," Marella said.
"Okay. Next up: the Songs and the Vackers. How about you guys go get Fitz and Linh while we get Biana and Bangs Boy? That'll be faster."
"Wow, Wonderboy #2 had a good idea!" Dex said sarcastically.
Keefe rolled his eyes. "Whatever, Techy. Meet at the Four Seasons Tree when you have them." They all gave thumbs up, lifted up their pathfinders, and leaped away.
Foster and Keefe arrived at Lumivapor, a small-ish looking house that was dark on one side, light on the other, to symbolize the contrasting personalities of Biana's love of pink and bright things and Bangs Boy's emo-ness. Was that a word? He'd have to check once this was all over.
Foster knocked on the door and Evannalue, the Song's only child so far (they wanted twins because of all the discrimination Bangs Boy and Linh had faced), answered the door with a smile once she saw Keefe and Foster.
"Hi, Uncle Keefe, hi Aunt Sophie! Why are you guys here?"
Keefe smiled warmly. "Hey, Luelue. Could you please find your Mommy and Daddy? We need to talk with them." She nodded.
After about thirty seconds, Bangs Boy and Biana followed Evannalue back to the front door. Foster must have transmitted something to Biana because she nodded and said, "Evannalue, could you go help Grady and Edaline at Havenfield until we get back?" When she looked reluctant, Foster added slyly, "Opalene just went there, and there's a brand-new flaredon."
She squealed, "Okay! Yay!" and immediately ran off to the Leapmaster.
Foster turned to Bangs Boy and Biana. "We, meanwhile, need to get to the Four Seasons Tree to meet the Dizznees and the Vackers."
