On Today's Episode: The spies head to Canada, Quebec specifically, to infiltrate Macker the Safecracker's hideout and save Alex from his greasy robotic clutches. But do the two villains have a trump card up their sleeves? Does this card actually have something to do with Nick's past? And can the spies thwart this plan before it literally destroys Beverly Hills?
Episode 2: Hideout Hideaway
6:21 P.M. – Somewhere in Quebec, Canada
The six spies hopped out of the Skyskimmer the instant it touched down in Quebec, ready to find Alex and stop the demented plans of Scam and Macker.
"All right, we made it to Canada," Clover quipped. "First question: where do we go from here?"
Haruka moved her X-Powder around, scanning for the direction of the tracker she was following. "It should be that way," Haruka proclaimed.
"Let's hurry, then," Nick stated. "Those two are going to pay for what they've done once I find them."
"Simple, but effective," Bridget laughed.
Once again, the spies split up, this time in teams of three, to investigate the area and hopefully find Macker's base sooner.
"Is this too cliché, the fact that we're walking through a forest to find a secret base?" Bridget asked as she, Nick, and Haruka moved through the nearby forest. "That feels like it's been done before."
"That's because it probably has," Nick admitted as he kept his senses open for any possible sneak attacks. After all, since Macker most likely knew they were on their way, he could have any number of possible traps set for them.
"Oh, crapbaskets," Haruka groaned.
"What's the matter, Haruka?" Bridget asked.
Haruka pointed to a nearby open area of the forest, where fake floor panels opened up to reveal a small platoon of guard robots with laser cannons on each hand.
"I think the cavalry came to welcome us," Haruka quipped. "As in, evil robots of evil!"
"This way! I think we can shake them off!" Nick exclaimed, and the three of them began running as fast as they could while the robots pursued them.
As the robots began firing on them, Nick aimed his right hand backwards to project a psychic barrier behind him, deflecting the laser blasts away from them.
"They're still firing on us!" Haruka shouted.
"There's a clearing just ahead!" Bridget exclaimed.
After a few more seconds of running, Nick, Haruka and Bridget burst out into the clearing...
...only to find that they had just dashed off the edge of a waterfall cliff.
"Oh, me and my big mouth," Bridget groaned.
Before Haruka and Bridget could activate their Jetpack Backpacks, Nick solved the problem by encasing all three of them in a large psychic bubble. The robots continued to fire of them, only for the blasts to harmlessly bounce off of the bubble.
"Okay, I take back my previous big mouth statement," Bridget giggled. "Seriously, Nick, is there anything your powers can't do?"
"I'm thinking up new ways to use them every now and then," Nick admitted as he guided the bubble down the waterfall to safe ground.
"Hey, I'm getting a really strong signal just up ahead!" Haruka proclaimed. The three of them looked up once Nick dissolved the bubble to find... a rickety, run-down old hut.
"Um... really?" Bridget groaned. "That's seriously his hideout?"
"It could be hiding something underground, for all we know," Haruka answered as they approached the door. "Rules for villains, number twenty-two: always pick the abandoned and/or condemned places for your hideouts, because nobody will suspect it, even when they should."
Not wasting any more time, Nick walked up and kicked the door to the hut open to reveal a small, empty room with a very sci-fi looking elevator in the middle.
"Paydirt," Haruka proclaimed. "The signal goes underground from here."
"Should we call the others?" Nick asked.
"Already did," Bridget quipped, closing her own X-Powder. "They're on their way right now."
Bridget scooted over to hug Nick. "So don't you worry, buddy," Bridget stated. "We're gonna get Alex back, and then we're gonna pound those two baddies into mashed potatoes."
It didn't take much longer for Sam, Mat, and Clover to rendezvous, and together, they all rode down the elevator, preparing themselves for whatever lay in wait for them in Macker's underground fortress.
"I wonder if this elevator's taking us to Macker's fortress," Sam stated.
"I hope it does," Mat remarked.
Before long, the elevator came to a stop and the spies got off.
"ALEX, YOU HERE?!" Nick called out.
The spies walked forward.
"It'd be nice if we could see where we're going," Haruka chastised.
"I can assist there," Nick replied, using his psychic power as a makeshift flashlight.
For now, the spies could see a ways ahead of them.
"Can you keep this up long?" Mat asked Nick.
"I think I can, but we should hurry things up just to be on the safe side," Nick answered.
"My thoughts exactly," Haruka stated. "I think I've seen Nick use his psychic powers enough to know how they work."
"No doubt," Nick replied. "And I'd like to think I know my own powers well enough."
"We'll take your word on that," Clover quipped.
The spies moved forward.
"This place reeks," Clover chastised.
"But we gotta find Alex," Sam reminded.
"Who knows what Macker and Tim are planning with her," Mat added in.
"ALEX, WHERE ARE YOU?!" Bridget called out again...
Again, no answer.
"I wonder how much longer until we..." Mat started before lights turned on.
"HA HA HA!" A sinister voice cackled.
The spies looked around and saw plenty of Alex clones in the works.
"Total flashback here..." Sam chastised.
"You would be correct, little lady," Macker sneered and that's when all the spies saw him in the flesh.
Tim Scam was on Macker the Safecracker's left. Alex was hanging upwards in a cage like an escaped bird.
"ALEX!" Nick shouted.
"How'd they get her way up there?!" Mat wondered.
"No idea, bro," Nick answered. "But I'm the one who's gonna get her down!"
"Don't count on that, kid!" Tim Scam sneered.
Nick fired a psychic shot only for it to deflect and break a test tube with an Alex clone in it. The Alex clone came after the spies.
"Nick, don't fall victim!" Alex called from the cage. "Macker had some of my hair leftover from when he first framed us!"
"That explains it," Clover quipped.
Nick fired another psychic shot at the Alex clone. He destroyed it easy.
"Hold on, guys," Nick quipped. "I think this might get pretty rough if we're gonna get Alex freed..."
"Tell me about it," Haruka proclaimed as another Alex clone rushed her, only to be kicked away.
"Wait, wait, how are we supposed to know which Alex is the real Alex?" Bridget asked as she hopped over an Alex clone attempting to kick her legs out. "There's so many in here!"
"Why not try that radar sweep thing you were talking about earlier?" Sam asked. "We'll cover you."
Nick nodded, closing his eyes and concentrating as the rest of the spies kept the Alex clones busy for him. Nick extended his senses out as far as he could, searching for the thoughts of his girlfriend.
Soon enough, Nick found the real Alex's thoughts coming from the birdcage she was currently trapped in.
"So, which one is it, Nick?" Clover asked.
"The Alex in the 'birdcage' is the real deal," Nick stated. "But now the question becomes how do we get her out of there? Blasting the cage didn't work..."
As Bridget grabbed another Alex clone by the shoulders and tossed it into a nearby group of clones, Nick suddenly got a brainstorm. After knocking away a few more clones with a psychic pulse, Nick rose into the air and charged towards the birdcage.
"Wait, what's Nick doing?" Clover asked.
"Stand back, Alex!" Nick exclaimed. Alex did so, scooting as close to the other side of the cage as she could muster.
Nick channeled some of his psychic power into his right hand, the energy forming into a glowing blade that extended out from his palm. When he reached the birdcage, Nick made two crossing slashes with his energy blade against the bars of the cage. After about a second, the bars he'd slashed collapsed into pieces, allowing Alex enough room to jump out of the cage and into Nick's waiting arms.
"I knew you'd come for me," Alex giggled.
"Hey, I wouldn't be doing my job as your boyfriend if I didn't come swooping in like the cliché knight in shining armor," Nick laughed as he and his girlfriend shared a kiss. "Or glowing armor in my case."
Nick and Alex flew back down to ground level to rejoin the rest of the spies in fighting back the Alex clones.
"Your leverage is gone, Scam!" Nick shouted. "You might as well give it up now before we come over there and fry your keesters medium-rare!"
"Oh, who said we were done?" Macker proclaimed. "I believe we forgot to mention the ace up our sleeve. Scam, if you would so kindly educate them?"
"With pleasure," Scam cackled as he reached into his pocket to retrieve a remote control and press the big red button on it.
All of the Alex clones that were still active retreated as the floor underneath them began to open up, and something began rising up through the floor panels. It appeared to be a gigantic laser cannon device with a glass case on its control panel holding seven differently-colored gemstones.
"What the heck is that thing?!" Alex shouted.
"And where, exactly, did you find the Psy-Stones, you hooligans?!" Nick growled.
"Quite simple," Scam proclaimed. "We figured that, since these gemstones are what gave you your powers, boy, they must hold incredible untapped power."
"With that in mind, we stole them from the museum where they'd been left to power our trump card, the Eclipse Cannon," Macker stated. "It's, quite obviously, a laser device that can hit targets anywhere in the world."
"And boosted by the power of the Psy-Stones, we can destroy practically any city we desire with a single blast!" Scam laughed. "Do you see what we're getting at, spies?"
It didn't take long for the implications to sink in for the spies, and Nick was the first to step forward, aiming his glowing right hand for Scam and Macker as the Eclipse Cannon platform broke through the ground back outside.
"You wouldn't dare," Nick snarled.
"Just try and stop us!" Macker exclaimed as he and Scam hopped into an escape pod. "We're off to Beverly Hills to savor its imminent destruction!"
"I'd say it was nice knowing you all," Scam proclaimed. "But it really wasn't."
Before anyone could make a move to stop the fleeing villains, the ground began to rumble as the Eclipse Cannon charged up, eventually firing a massive violet beam of energy that streaked off into the sky.
"Oh, that can't be any sort of good," Bridget quipped.
"Jerry, can you read me?" Sam exclaimed as she opened her X-Powder.
"Loud and clear, Sam," Jerry proclaimed. "How is the mission going?"
"Every which way, Jer," Nick stated. "Good news is, we've got Alex back, but Scam and Macker just used their trump card to fire a giant laser at Beverly Hills, and we've gotta beat the blast there!"
"No need to worry," Jerry stated. "I'm sending your Skyskimmer to your location immediately."
"Once again, you are a lifesaver, Jerry," Alex proclaimed as the spies' Skyskimmer touched down nearby. "Let's get moving, everybody!"
With all seven spies seated, the Skyskimmer took off into the sky, the spies hoping they could beat the Eclipse Cannon's blast to Beverly Hills before it was too late.
7:53 P.M. – Beverly Hills
Thankfully, Beverly Hills was still intact when the Skyskimmer touched down to let the spies out, but they could still see a sparkle of light in the distance, which meant they had to act swiftly.
"All right, everyone, how do we stop this?" Haruka asked. "We don't have much time before that blast gets here, after all."
Nick took a few steps forward, his aura exploding to life around him. "I'm gonna have to blast it back with my own power," Nick stated. "It's probably the only chance we've got."
"Are you sure you can handle it, Nick?" Sam wondered.
"Anything to save my home," Nick proclaimed.
"Here it comes!" Alex shouted as the blast inched closer and closer to the cliffside they were all standing on.
Nick brought his right hand back, neon-green light gathering into his open palm. The other spies all brought out their projectile gadgets of choice to assist Nick.
As the blast drew ever closer, rings of green light began spiraling around Nick's hand, which was now glowing impossibly brightly, indicating he was putting everything he had into this attack.
It's now or never, Nick thought as he aimed his glowing hand towards the massive violet laser beam approaching them.
"FINAL SHINE ATTACK!" Nick shouted, a gigantic beam of neon-green energy erupting from his palm and thundering out towards the violet beam, the two beams colliding somewhere in the middle with enough force to shake the surrounding area.
Sam, Alex, and Clover all fired Wind Tunnel 9000 blasts into Nick's Final Shine Attack, while Mat, Haruka and Bridget did the same with their Laser Lipsticks (Chapstick in Mat's case), and the extra energy helped Nick to push the Eclipse Cannon blast back a ways.
"Man, this laser thing is insane!" Clover shouted.
"We can do this, everyone! Don't let up!" Sam exclaimed.
For what seemed like an eternity, but was really only a couple minutes, the two blasts seemed evenly matched, neither side giving any ground.
"Who thinks we're not getting anywhere?!" Alex proclaimed.
"Come on, we can overclock these things if we've gotta!" Haruka shouted. "Set weapons to full power, everybody!"
With that, the spies all pushed their weapons to full power as Nick channeled more power into his Final Shine Attack, the extra effort pushing the Eclipse Cannon blast further back.
"Is there any way we could stop the Eclipse Cannon itself from here, or is that not possible at the moment?" Clover asked.
"We're obviously preoccupied right now, Alex," Mat stated. "Even so, I'm not sure our X-Powders could handle this massive energy output."
"It's okay, you guys!" Alex exclaimed. "We've got this!"
"I wouldn't be too sure, you wretched meddlers," Scam proclaimed as he and Macker arrived in their pod.
"How about you scram?!" Bridget growled. "You're the last thing we need to deal with right now!"
"Oh, that hurts my feelings!" Macker exclaimed, firing a laser gun that blasted Bridget backwards. With Nick occupied repelling the Eclipse Cannon blast, this left Macker to fire on the other spies, who were all forced to scatter to avoid getting hit.
Nick looked up just in time to see the Eclipse Cannon blast surge with energy and push his own Final Shine Attack backwards. Nick quickly channeled more power to keep the blast at bay, even as it became clearer that he was close to being overpowered.
"Crapbaskets, this isn't good," Nick growled.
"Just give in and accept your fate," Scam laughed. "It'll be so much easier on you that way."
"How about you shut your trap?!" Bridget shouted, firing her currently-overclocked Wind Tunnel 9000 with enough force to knock Scam and Macker out of their pod, and thus allowing Nick to raise his left hand and encase both villains in a large psychic bubble.
However, this quick diversion seemed to cost Nick quite a bit of ground, and he frantically attempted to channel his remaining reserves to keep the Eclipse Cannon blast at bay.
Even when it seemed like he'd exhausted all of his reserves, Nick refused to give up. He knew that he was currently the only thing preventing his home and everyone in it from being vaporized.
"Come on, come on!" Nick shouted as the Eclipse Cannon blast kept pushing back at him. "Don't crap out on me now!"
Suddenly, Nick felt a hand on his shoulder, and he chanced a glance backwards to see that the rest of the spies were all smiling at him, showing their full confidence in him.
And the clincher came when Alex walked up and kissed him on the cheek.
His confidence renewed, Nick pushed back against the Eclipse Cannon blast, focusing everything he had left into overcoming the blast. And it seemed to be working, as Nick's Final Shine Attack began to push back against the Eclipse Cannon blast little by little.
"Come on, Nick, you can do it!" Alex exclaimed.
"Show these turbo-nerds who's the boss!" Clover exclaimed.
"Never give up, never surrender!" Bridget shouted.
"You've got this, bro!" Mat proclaimed.
"We believe in you, Nick!" Sam exclaimed.
"We always have, and we always will!" Haruka shouted.
That was all Nick needed to hear. Drawing out every last ounce of power he could, Nick let out a loud battle cry and channeled all of that power into his Final Shine Attack, the neon-green blast expanding rapidly until it began to overshadow the Eclipse Cannon blast.
And sure enough, Nick's Final Shine Attack finally overpowered the Eclipse Cannon blast, tearing through the violet beam of energy like a hot knife through buttered toast and dispersing that energy harmlessly.
When it was finally over, Nick allowed his own blast to dissolve and glanced over at Scam and Macker, who were staring in utter disbelief at what they'd just witnessed.
"Well, I guess you lose," Nick quipped. "Go and ruminate on that in your cells."
Having said everything he needed to, Nick flicked his hand upwards to send the bubbled villains off to containment.
"That was AWESOME, Nick!" Alex laughed as she leaped over to hug Nick tightly. "Way to show those freaks how we take care of business!"
When Nick didn't immediately answer, Alex grew concerned, only to see Nick falling to the ground and losing consciousness.
The last thought that ran through Nick's mind before he blacked out?
This one's for you, mom and dad. He won't trouble you any longer...
"Holy crap, what just happened?!" Bridget gasped. "Is he okay?!"
Haruka walked over to check on Nick. "He's still breathing fine," Haruka answered. "It just looks like he's out like a light. Nick must have pushed his powers into overdrive to overpower that blast."
Haruka kneeled down to pick the unconscious Nick up. "Let's get to W.O.O.H.P. so we can check in with Jerry, and then we'll get Nick home so he can rest," Haruka stated. "He deserves a break after what just happened."
"Too true," Alex replied, happy to know that her boyfriend was going to be okay.
Obviously, Alex was still feeling stressed out inside.
"Jerry, we need the WOOHP plane right now!" Sam shouted into her X-Powder. "Nick saved the world, but he's fallen unconscious!"
"Oh my!" Jerry exclaimed at the circumstances now. "The plane is coming right now!"
The spies could hear the plane right away.
10:59 P.M. – W.O.O.H.P. Headquarters
The spies looked on at Nick, who was still unconscious as WOOHP personnel checked his vital signs.
"Is he okay, Jerry?" Alex asked.
"No need to worry, Alex," Jerry replied. "Nick's just unconscious. He'll be fine."
Hearing those words certainly put everyone's minds at ease.
"Thank goodness!" Mat exaggerated.
"Maybe we should wait a bit on Nick to recover before we go see Mat ride his bike," Haruka suggested.
"That sounds like a good idea," Bridget remarked, then turned to Jerry. "Jerry, is he gonna have to stay here?"
"No, he won't," Jerry answered. "I'll send you all back to your house."
Nick happened to open his eyes slowly.
"What's happening?" Nick weakly asked.
Alex was overjoyed to see that Nick was awake.
"We're taking you back home," Alex told Nick as she leaned in to kiss him.
"Thanks, everyone," Nick replied. "I could certainly use the rest."
Alex couldn't help but kiss Nick again, extremely happy to see that he would be all right.
"They really ARE in love, eh?" Bridget commented.
"No doubt," Sam quipped. "Just like how Mat and I are getting closer."
"So, where are we gonna see you ride, Mat?" Clover asked. "Have you got things squared away?"
"Not to worry on that, Clover," Jerry replied, then turned to Mat. "W.O.O.H.P. will make arrangements for you."
"Oh wow, thanks, Jer," Mat quipped.
"That's gonna be fun," Bridget stated.
11:30 AM – Motocross Track (Glendale, CA; Two Days Later)
After spending a day for Nick to recover, the spies were out with Mat as he was getting in his riding gear ready to ride.
"This should be fun, even though it's a regular riding day – as Mat told us," Alex told the others.
Sam was looking around for Mat. He came riding by on a red Honda 250cc 4-stroke. "There he goes," she quipped when she saw Mat.
As Mat told them, he was a pretty good rider. The track consisted of some doubles and tabletops; Mat was jumping nearly all of them, but he wasn't going at professional speed.
"I think Mat might have made it as a pro if he really wanted to," Nick stated.
Mat rode for several laps before pulling in for a rest.
"That was pretty good, bro," Nick commented when Mat got his helmet off.
"Thanks, dude," Mat replied after he caught his breath. "This track is really good for a beginner like me. I don't think I can handle a pro career though; I think I'd miss home too much."
That was when Sam heard her X-Powder chirp.
"Hello, spies," Jerry greeted.
"Jerry, what now?" Sam wondered.
"I don't wish to alarm you, but we've gotten reports that Tim Scam may have escaped the containment facility," Jerry proclaimed. "We believe that he was freed by someone not currently in containment."
"Oh, that's just smooth," Haruka sighed.
"Someone needs to renovate the containment facility so it's easier to keep baddies in there," Bridget quipped.
"No need to worry, spies," Jerry stated. "I have more agents combing the area for him. I just wanted you to be on the lookout in case he tries anything underhanded."
With that, Jerry's image flickered away.
"Well, that's a bit frustrating, isn't it?" Alex groaned.
"Hey, I'm not too worried," Bridget proclaimed. "We stomped all over his plans the other day, and if we gotta, we'll stomp him again!"
"That's the spirit, Bridget," Nick quipped.
The spies looked out to see Mat was out riding again. They could see he was "racing" with someone else out there.
"Go get him!" Sam exclaimed to Mat.
There was a double jump that Mat was able to jump to keep up with the guy, who rode a yellow Suzuki. Mat went for a big tabletop jump and managed to pass him. The guy later pulled off.
"That's pretty impressive," Alex commented.
"I'll say," Nick replied. "I'm impressed he can jump a lot of those doubles; I didn't see him nail a triple, though... unless that's above his level or something..."
"I'm gonna guess it is above his level," Sam deduced.
Around four laps later (after going a total of nine), Mat pulled in again for another rest.
"So..." Alex stated, glancing over at Bridget. "I don't think we've been properly introduced yet, Bridget."
"Oh, yeah, you're right!" Bridget gasped. "I literally didn't get to actually meet you until we had to scramble to save Beverly Hills from becoming a crater."
Bridget smoothed down her dress, then extended a hand to Alex. "My name's Bridget Taylor, and I'm an old buddy of Nick's," Bridget explained as she and Alex shook hands. "I met Nick back in middle school, but I had to leave for a couple years to sort out some family drama. I actually just came back to Beverly Hills just a couple months ago and rejoined the track team."
"So, how long have you been a W.O.O.H.P. agent, Bridget?" Clover asked.
"Actually, it was around the time I came back and rejoined the track team, so I'd say about three months," Bridget responded. "I probably haven't fought as many baddies as you all have, but I've kinda got my own rogues' gallery. Did I mention that I actually fought Willard recently?"
"Wait, that nutball?" Clover gasped. "What was he trying to do?"
"Would you believe he was going after my friends on the track team?" Bridget quipped. "I really don't know why, since I managed to take him down before he could really get his plan going."
"Really?" Sam wondered.
"Yeah, Jerry even called it a record for fastest mission completion," Bridget giggled.
"And I think you missed the best part, too, Alex," Clover laughed. "When Jer summoned us, he called Nick and Bridget together."
"We were at the sports field at Bev High when we got summoned," Bridget added.
"Once they're ready to go, Haruka started staring at them," Clover continued. "She honestly thought Nick was cheating on Alex."
"STOOOOOOOOOP," Haruka groaned. "I already told you how much I regret that..."
"Complete with the look that almost pinned my keester to a wall," Bridget laughed. "Just to make sure everything's clear, Alex, I know you're Nick's girlfriend, since it was pretty much the first thing he told me, and I'm not gonna try anything. The most I really did was give him a big hug because I was just happy to see him again after three years."
"One more question, Bridget," Haruka asked once she'd recovered from her earlier embarrassment. They were never going to let that go, it seemed. "Are you on a team, or..."
"Nope," Bridget stated. "I've been a solo agent for my tenure at W.O.O.H.P. until today. I was considering putting in a request to join your team, if that's all right with you guys."
"Sounds like fun!" Alex proclaimed. "The more, the merrier, honestly!"
As the spies continued to watch Mat tear up the course, Nick glanced towards the stands nearby, having just noticed something suspicious sneaking by.
After returning home, Nick had discovered that he could extend his psychic senses to about five miles outwards from his current position. Any further, though, and everything faded into unrecognizable static.
And those senses picked up a very familiar voice.
"What's up, Nick?" Sam asked.
"Something wicked is stalking around," Nick replied. "Bridget and I are gonna go check it out so you guys can enjoy the show."
"Time for some stomping," Bridget quipped.
Using his "psychic radar" to guide them, Nick and Bridget followed the source of Tim Scam's thoughts and eventually found him planting a suspicious-looking explosive device onto one of the fences surrounding the track.
"Wretched spies have no idea who they're messing with," Scam laughed as he set the timer on the bomb. "But now, they'll wish they'd never crossed me."
"Seriously, get a new line," Nick proclaimed, catching Scam's attention. "Because that's way too overused for its own good."
"Ah, so we meet again," Scam proclaimed.
"You've got some nerve pulling another hare-brained scheme only two days after we scuttled your last plan," Bridget stated. "Are you at least going to tell us what that plan is, or is that just not happening?"
"I would think it's obvious," Scam responded. "I've been placing multiple bombs around this track so I can blow you and everyone else here sky-high."
"You son of a..." Nick growled, his aura flaring to life around him.
"If I were you, I'd decide whether you should prioritize slapping me around or finding and defusing the bombs before they go off," Scam proclaimed as he wisely retreated for the moment.
"Well, this could be a problem," Nick sighed in frustration. "I hate to say this out loud, but he's got a point. We've gotta find those bombs and get rid of them before this whole place goes up. Question is, how do we find them all in time?"
To Nick's surprise, Bridget was smiling.
"Oh, I've got something," Bridget quipped as she opened her X-Powder. "Jerry, do you ready me?"
"Loud and clear, Bridget," Jerry responded. "Have you encountered Tim Scam yet?"
"Pretty much," Bridget answered. "He's planting bombs around the motocross track to blow us all to hell, and we've got to hurry if we're gonna stop them."
Jerry grinned at what Bridget was implying.
"I'll cut to the chase, Jerry," Bridget stated. "Is 'it' finished yet?"
"We put the finishing touches on it while Nick was recovering," Jerry replied. "All I have to do is download it into your X-Powder and you can use it."
"Um, mind if I ask?" Nick wondered.
Bridget's X-Powder screen flashed for a second, signifying she had downloaded whatever Jerry had sent to her.
"Check this out, Nick," Bridget laughed. "I guarantee you'll be impressed."
Bridget typed in a few commands on her X-Powder before holding it into the air, the casing glowing with an emerald green light.
"Sonic Mode, online!" Bridget proclaimed.
Green rings of light surrounded Bridget's body as her hair braids came undone, letting her hair flow down to about her waist. Bridget reached out to tap a new symbol that had appeared on her shirt, the symbol flashing brightly and changing her outfit into a more cyberpunk-esque version of her normal spy catsuit with glowing neon lines running in patterns all across the suit.
Her transformation complete, Bridget couldn't resist striking a pose at the end.
"You like?" Bridget giggled. "Then watch this."
Bridget dashed away from Nick so fast that Nick could barely keep up with her movements. Bridget dashed back towards Nick at the same lightning speed.
"Pretty cool, right?" Bridget stated. "This is something Jerry and I have been cooking up for a little while. Since I'm naturally really fast thanks to my track and field expertise, I asked myself what I'd be capable of if we could multiply that. What you're seeing is the result of that thinking. My Sonic Mode suit, in basic science terms, allows me to move up to ten times my normal speed. Multiply that by my base speed..."
"...and Scam literally won't even know what hit him," Nick proclaimed.
"Now let's go find those bombs," Bridget quipped as she took off, trails of neon green light following her as she ran. Nick opened his X-Powder to update the others about what was happening.
"I don't know how many bombs he planted, but we gotta detonate those FAST!" Clover chastised.
"We'll cover more ground if we split up!" Sam deduced.
Mat was busy riding, and as tempting as it was for one of the spies to call him in, they abstained and let Mat continue to ride.
"That's a good idea, Sammy," Alex remarked.
As it turned out, Sam went with Haruka, Alex with Nick, and Bridget with Clover.
"Any idea where a bomb may be, Sammy?" Haruka asked while Sam used the Cyberjacker Sunglasses to detect a bomb.
"Not sure yet," Sam answered. "But I really hope Scam didn't plant any bombs on the track Mat's riding on..."
"Yeah, I'd hate to get their attention for something like this," Haruka added. "Hard to say if anybody's gonna believe it..."
Haruka moved her left foot and felt something unusual. She looked to her left and could see that her foot was only inches away from a rock... but Sam noticed the rock had a tiny bomb on top.
"Haruka, get away slowly..." Sam instructed. "I think this might be a crystallized bomb."
Haruka moved her foot away and jumped backwards.
"Now... how to detonate it..." Sam chastised as she tried to do some fast thinking.
After a couple seconds of thinking, Sam reached for the bomb while using her Cyberjacker Sunglasses to try and hack it to stop the detonation.
Thankfully, she was able to stop the bomb with two seconds left on its clock.
"Oof, that was close," Sam sighed.
"No kidding," Haruka replied. "Here's hoping the others are doing all right..."
Meanwhile, Bridget and Clover were at another part of the motocross track looking around for more bombs.
"Mat's a pretty good rider," Bridget remarked as she snuck a few looks at Mat shredding lap after lap.
"Yeah, I'm totally impressed that he's THAT good to do a lot of those big jumps," Clover admitted.
Bridget then noticed a glare from the sun that was reflecting off of something. Upon further inspection, that was another of the bombs Tim Scam had planted.
"This is like a life-or-death version of a Whack-a-Mole game!" Clover chastised when she found another bomb near her.
"More like a literal mine field," Bridget corrected.
"That, too," Clover stated.
"Leave this to me," Bridget stated, lunging forward with her boosted speed to easily rip off the bomb's covers, then rushing back to yank some wires out of the bombs, stopping their countdowns with seconds to spare.
"Nice one, Bridget!" Clover exclaimed. "I'm totally lovin' this new upgrade!"
"Thanks, Clover," Bridget giggled. "Now let's go find the rest of them. Hopefully the others are having the same kind of luck..."
Nick and Alex were looking around for bombs themselves. Nick even looked at Mat riding and getting better and better.
"He IS pretty good, isn't he?" Alex asked.
"No doubt," Nick replied. "Not sure how Mat got those skills, but I'm impressed."
"Having fun?" Scam sneered as he came into view.
"I don't know what 'fun' you find in this," Nick stated. "But you WILL be stopped, Scam! We still wanna see Mat ride!"
Scam just cackled. Nick stopped him with a psychic shot. Scam took that as an emotional 'owie' and scoffed.
"I don't like that look, Scam," Alex proclaimed. "But there's NO FREAKING WAY you're gonna harm one rider on the track – ESPECIALLY MAT!"
"Well, you'll have to try to find the main bomb anyway," Scam sneered. "Obviously, you won't... but good luck trying..."
"HE DIDN'T..." Nick and Alex chastised together.
"I DI-ID..." Scam taunted.
When Alex attempted to use the Cyberjacker Sunglasses herself, Tim Scam tried to intervene her progress; at first it worked.
Alex juked to one side to avoid Scam lunging for her, then rolled to another as he kept trying to stop her from finding the main bomb.
"Will you stand still, you damned spy?!" Scam growled.
"Make me!" Alex taunted as she leaped over Scam.
Simultaneously, Nick used his psychic ability to determine where the main bomb was. It was at the landing of a tabletop that nobody was about to jump... at least not for another few seconds.
"Oh, crapbaskets!" Nick shouted when he realized what was about to happen.
"Better make your decision now, boy," Scam cackled. "You don't have much time left."
Nick desperately tried to think of something that could help him out. Oh, man, if only I could, I don't know, STOP TIME or something... Nick thought.
Suddenly, Nick clutched his stomach, wondering where this strange pain was coming from.
"N-Nick? Are you doing all right?" Alex wondered.
As Alex tried to move closer to Nick, his body suddenly started flashing brightly before unleashing a large golden bubble around him that expanded rapidly, eventually covering the entire track area.
When Nick was finally able to calm down and assess his surroundings, he had no trouble noticing that everything around him, the entire track included, was tinted a golden yellow like his aura.
The weirdest part, though? Everything that was covered by this golden glow had stopped moving completely. It was as if everything within this bubble of light except for him had been frozen in time.
"Holy crap, did I... did I freeze time?" Nick gasped. "Did my thoughts actually grant me a new power or something?"
Nick looked around, still wondering how he'd pulled this off.
"Hey, I got a new power out of the deal, so I can't exactly complain," Nick quipped as he rushed towards the track, knowing that this time freeze probably wouldn't last for too long.
Nick grabbed the bomb in his psychic hold, then clenched his hand to encase the bomb in a large psychic bubble. With the bomb safely encapsulated, Nick ran out of the facility to psychically toss the bomb into the sky, then undid the bubble so that the bomb exploded safely away from the track.
Nick's X-Powder went off at that precise moment, so he opened it up to see Clover and Bridget were calling him. "What's up, girls?" Nick asked.
"What the heck was that explosion?" Clover wondered.
"Oh, that? That was just the main bomb that Scam placed on the motocross track," Nick answered. "I bubbled it up and sent it into the sky so it wouldn't blow up the place."
"Wow, that must have been quite a close call, huh?" Bridget stated.
"Well, it definitely helped me that I gained a new power to stop it from going off," Nick replied. "From what I can tell, it appears to be the power to freeze time around me."
"Holy crapbaskets, Nick, you can stop time now?!" Haruka gasped as she and Sam appeared on the call.
"I wouldn't call it completely stopping time," Nick quipped. "I apparently made a big bubble around me that covered the track, since time was moving normally outside the bubble. Honestly, I've still got some things to figure out about it."
"Did you take care of Scam?" Sam asked.
"That's the last thing I've gotta do," Nick responded. "You can all head back to the track now."
With that, Nick moved back to the track, where everything was still frozen. Nick snapped his fingers, and the large bubble dissipated, allowing time to start flowing normally.
"Good to see you're feeling better, Nick," Alex quipped. "But, um... where'd the bomb go?"
"I blew it up," Nick replied.
"WHAT?!" Scam shouted. "How the hell did you...?!"
"Simple," Nick proclaimed. "I learned a new psychic ability."
Before Scam could even entertain any notions of escaping, Nick raised his right hand to trap Scam in a psychic bubble, then taking him outside the facility just as the rest of the spies (sans Mat, who was still riding) arrived on the scene.
"Hey, he got him!" Sam exclaimed.
"And this time, stay in your cell, asshole," Nick taunted as he flicked his hand upwards to send Scam back off to containment.
"Okay, so what exactly happened out there?" Alex wondered. "One second, Nick's clutching his chest like he got a stomachache, and the next second everything's been taken care of. What did I miss?"
"I think Nick saved the day with his new power," Haruka replied.
"Once again, my buddy comes through," Bridget giggled, switching out of Sonic Mode and back to her normal attire.
"Wait, you got a new power?" Alex gasped. "Is that what that was?"
"Let's get back to the track and I'll explain everything," Nick quipped. "After all, Mat's still riding, and I don't think we'd wanna miss anymore of that."
"For sure," Sam replied.
With that, the spies all changed back into their normal attire and returned to the track to enjoy the rest of Mat's riding time.

On the next episode...
Sam: Well, that was quite the stressful few minutes, huh?
Alex: Hey, I feel pretty good! We put Scam in his place twice in the span of, what, two days? I'd say that's a new W.O.O.H.P. record!
Haruka: Wow, look at Mat go!
Sam: I really think Mat could be a pro rider if he wanted to.
Clover: Tell me about it!
Nick: Hey, has anyone seen Bridget?
Bridget: Sorry, readers, but I'm not spoiling that. You're gonna have to wait until the next episode of Totally Spies the Movie: Beyond the Looking Glass HD Remix, "Roundabout Ruckus"!
Nick: Huh. No pun this time.
Haruka: Here's hoping that means something.
