Chapter 7: The Rise of SkyWalker
Poe, "I'm back on! This is our last chance. We gotta hit those cannons now!"
And with that, all of the ships continue their assault against the First Order!
And they seem to be winning!
The rebel ships managing to put the First Order ships on the run.
...
Back on the bridge, we see Hux and Pryde had managed to untie themselves. But just as Pryde was about to reach for a gun, His grabbed one from off of the ground as fast as he could, turned and shot Pryde!
Hux gave a smirk as he ran off towards the hangar.
….
Finn, Jannah and Phasma continue their fight right on the edge of the hangar as fighting continues!
Phasma seems to be gaining the upper hand on the two rebels, as her weapon hits theirs with so much strength within it.
As they lock their blades once more, Phasma says, "any last words?"
Finn, "yeah, you really shouldn't wear metal armor."
Phasma was confused for a moment before she felt herself getting electrocuted!
Nine and BB-8 being the culprits.
Phasma only just manages to kick the droids away.
And before Phasma can do anything else, Finn, Rose and Jannah all hit her in the chest with their weapons, sending her sprawling back, almost falling out of the hangar!
Right as she gains her balance, she is suddenly shot right in the chest by a blaster bolt! It bounces off, but it's enough to make her lose her balance, and sends her falling out of the hangar, screaming for her life as she falls to her doom!
Finn smiled at Rose and Jannah.
They had done it! Captain Phasma was gone!
They turned to see who had fired the shot.
And standing there was Hux!
All of them were agape.
Rose, "wasn't expecting that?"
Jannah, "where's the other guy?"
Hux, "dead. I've lived with guilt ever since the events a year prior. Think of this as my way of making up for it."
Everyone gave a smile at the General.
It seemed like he finally chose the right side at the very end of all of this.
….
All three of our heroes fought against the Palpatine clones, their blades striking like lightning, with the sound they made like thunder.
And all around them, the spirits of all of the Jedi and Sith swarmed around them, watching this final battle to see which side would prevail.
The dark, or the light?
Owen fought one clone off as best as he could. Striking with quick precision and accuracy, and blocking every swing sent his way. Owen showed the skill he had learned from his mentors. Namely, his skills mirrored his mother's fighting style.
Padme has trouble at first, but is able to use her agility to run circles around the clone. She showed a style more like her father's, since she had her so much training with him for years.
Meanwhile, Rey fought the original, using every skill she learned against him.
Her skills were an amalgamation of all of her mentors. The speed and agility of Mara and Ahsoka. The skill and dexterity of Ezra and Cal. And the strength and determination of Luke. She even found herself wielding her blades in a way like Obi Wan Kenobi did.
Owen and the first clone locked their blades, sparks lighting up around them.
Padme made sure to avoid ever strike sent her way, dodging the attacks in-between sending her own to the clone she was fighting.
Rey connected both sabers together in order to combat the clone of her grandfather, their double-bladed weapons hitting one another almost every second.
This fighting went on for another good five minutes, adrenaline coarsing through our heroes as they fought their enemy, the spirits of the Jedi and Sith all swirling around them like a tornado!
Blue and black swirling almost like a wild painting!
Eventually, all three Palpatine's jump away from our heros, and as a last ditch effort to destroy their enemies and the Jedi, they all began shooting their lightning at them, forgetting what had occurred with Mace Windu all of those years ago.
Palpatine, "you three are nothing! A scavenger girl is no match for the power in me. Two mere children of a broken old man are no match for me. I am all the Sith!
Rey, "and we..."
Rey feels the force within her as she wields both of her sabers.
Rey, Owen and Padme all spoke at once, "...are all the Jedi."
All three heroes bring their lightsabers together as it absorbs the lightning from all three Palpatine's!
The spirits of the Jedi overwhelm the spirits of the Sith as the three Emperors are shot with their own lightning!
The first dries out as the lightning fried his skin!
The second's skin melts off from the intensity.
And the third straight up explodes from the overwhelming power!
Destroying most of the arena, and all of the hooded disciples!
….
Jannah gasps as she, Finn, DJ, Nine, BB-8 and Rose are all standing in the hangar with no way out!
C'al, "Poe, the command ship!"
Poe, "it's headed right for its own troops! Finn, are you seeing this!?"
Rose, "we didn't board the lander."
Poe, "you're still on that command ship?"
DJ, "r-right in the h-h-hangar!"
Poe, "I see ya. I'm going to get you!"
Tyce, "General, you won't make it."
Poe, "trust me, I'm fast!"
Lando, "not as fast as these ships!"
We see Lando piloting the Falcon with Chewie in an X-Wing and Mara in the Jade Shadow right beside them.
The Destroyer begins tilting, making everything begin sliding towards the edge of the hangar!
Hux is the only one who's able to keep steady.
The others all fall out, but are picked up by the Falcon, Jade Shadow and X-Wing.
Nine jumping into the X-Wing, Rose, Finn and Jannah getting into the Falcon, while DJ and BB-8 get into the Jade Shadow.
As Hux watches them fly off, he says, "may the Force be with you, rebel scum."
Hux gives a smile as the hangar is engulfed in flames.
Hux finding some form of redemption in his final moments.
The Destroyer itself, being destroyed.
….
Owen, Rey and Padme all breath heavily as they take in their victory.
They had won!
But before they could say anything, Rey fell to the ground, dropping her lightsabers.
Owen, "Rey? Rey!"
Owen runs to her, and sees she has no signs of life within her.
Owen, "no, no, Rey! Please, no!"
Padme and Owen start crying at the loss of their friend.
The battle had taken too much out of her.
….
Mara breaths heavily as she feels it.
Finn contacts her.
Finn, "what's happened?!"
Mara, "... she's gone."
Finn, "no, Rey."
….
Owen cries as he holds Rey in his arms, Padme rubbing his back in what little comfort she could give.
That's when they heard a sound.
They looked to see Ben alive, surviving his fall with the green saber clutched tightly in his hands.
Owen, "Ben, she's gone. I…. I couldn't save her."
As Ben kneels down, he says, "no, but I can."
Ben puts the saber down.
Owen and Padme looked confused, until Ben extended his hands towards Rey.
Ben, "she saved my life. With what little strength I have left, I will save hers."
Ben concentrates as he uses the skill Rey had done on him.
Owen and Padme both held their breath as they watched what happened.
And as if by a miracle, Rey started to breath!
She sat up, looking around her until she saw Owen's smiling face, streaked with tears.
Rey, "Owen."
Owen, "Rey."
Owen and Rey embrace, and share a passionate kiss as Ben and Padme smile at the sight.
The group of four all chuckle, before Ben starts to look weak.
The group watches as Ben lies down, his breath leaving him.
Ben dies, his body vanishing as it becomes one with the Force.
The group cries as they mourn their loss.
The death of Ben Solo.
He was now one with the Force.
With his parents.
As the Jedi he was meant to be.
….
Leia's body vanishes, also, and becomes the same as her son did.
Maz looks on with a knowing look.
Next to her are Threepio and D-O.
D-O, "sad."
Threepio, "Farwell Princess…."
….
As the Resistance begins their flight back home, they see a relieving sight!
Luke's X-Wing, and two TIE Fighters right beside it, flying towards them!
Finn, "there, look! Red 5 is in the air. Rey's alive."
Mara, "Owen and Padme are with her! I knew they'd make it!"
Poe, "I see them!"
Finn, "people are rising up all over the galaxy."
….
On Bespin, a damaged Resurgent Star Destroyer descends into the atmosphere below Cloud City. On Endor, the Ewok Wicket W. Warrick and his son, Pommet watch as another Resurgent Star Destroyer is destroyed via the "Holdo and Ackbar manuever" in the skies above the moon. On Jakku, a stricken Resurgent Star Destroyer crashes, joining a wrecked Imperial Star Destroyer from the Battle of Jakku.
….
Finn, "Poe. We did it."
Poe, "we did it."
Rose, "Hell yes!"
Chewie grunts in victory!
….
The Resistance are celebrating their victory back at their base.
Happy chatter and laughter is all around them.
BB-8 chirps in joy!
D-O, "happy."
Rose, "Chewie!"
Rose and Finn hug the old wookie as he jumps out of his X-Wing.
Maz approached them and says, "Chewie. This is for you."
She gives him the medal he deserves after so long.
Chewie grunts softly as Maz gives him a smile.
Rose and Finn turn to one another, and embrace one another, giving a passionate kiss. Their joy expressed through the action.
R2-D2 chirps in joy as he and Threepio reunite, with Nine quickly joining in.
C-3PO, "did you hear that?"
BB-8 chirps excitedly around Poe!
Jannah sits with Lando.
Janah, "where are you from, General?"
Lando, "the Gold system. Well, what about you, kid?"
Jannah, "oh. I don't know."
Lando, "well, let's find out."
Jannah gives the older man a grateful smile.
DJ sits next to Lando, "hey b-boss."
Lando, "had enough Resistance action?"
DJ, "enough to l-l-last a l-l-lifetime."
All of the Resistance is cheering.
Mara sees her children and quickly embraces them, crying in releif that they were okay.
Thumper flies onto Padme's shoulder, chirping in joy as he rubbed his cheek against hers.
As soon as she let them go, they saw their friends running towards them.
Rey, Owen and Padme run to Poe, Rose and Finn.
All three of them hug, sobbing in joy.
Mara looks at the hug with Ahsoka, Ezra and Cal.
Cal, "finally."
Ahsoka, "the balance has been restored."
Mara smiles as she stares at her lightsaber.
Mara, "I feel like things will finally last for a long time…."
...
Later, we see the Resistance holding a small service, burning the clothes of Leia and Ben, since their bodies had faded away. Owen and Padme cried the hardest, losing their family. Rey comforted her boyfriend as Poe comforted Padme.
Finn and the other soldiers preformed a 21 blaster salute to honor Leia, Ben, and all of the fallen heroes.
Mara stood with Lando and Chewie.
Ahsoka stood with Ezra and the Ghost Crew.
Cal stood with his own family.
All of the droids stood together.
Nien Nubb, (who did not die), stood with Ackbars son.
DJ stood with Jennah and Wedge.
And far off from all of them, stood Leia, Ben and Han, watching from beyond the grave
….
Many hours later.
We then return to Tatooine one final time.
It's sunset at the very moment.
The Millennium Falcon soars over 4 Jawas at a campfire near a sandcrawler. One of the Jawas exclaims in a Jawaese language, "Ootini!"
….
Rey descends from the ramp of the landed ship and stares out at the desert terrain.
Owen follows with Padme.
Mara stays at the ship.
She wanted to give the kids their moment.
As they head away from the Falcon, BB-8 and Nine, with Thumper sitting on their head, roll down the ramp and watch them walk towards the Lars' moisture farm. Clouds hang low in the pale sky above the farm's entry dome. Reaching the edge of the recessed homestead, the trio gaze in and find it partially filled with sand, the 2 moisture vaporators dirty and rust-stained.
Owen, "this was my father's home. Maybe now, it could be ours?"
Padme, "that sounds amazing."
Pulling a metal panel from the sand, Rey sits on it and sleds down the slope into the homestead.
Owen and Padme slice down on two other pieces of metal.
Rey rises and gazes around, then exhales, her eyes filled with wonder. Walking to the entrance of the 35-year-old burnt dining area, she stands beneath its arched doorway and looks inside.
Owen and Padme move in right behind her, seeing the home of their father for the first time, they were filled with awe the same way she was.
….
Later, they set the Skywalker lightsabers on a large stone block, with a cloth underneath them.
The sabers of Anakin, Luke and Leia.
They would sit there as monuments for three great Jedi.
Rey opens her eyes and stares after them solemnly, then lifts her own lightsaber which she holds. She activates it. Thr yellow blade extends, and her pensive gaze flickers over it.
Owen, "you did a great job building that. It suits you as your own weapon, just as dad's did."
Rey smiles at Owen before rising to her feet, extinguishing the saber, and sees an elderly woman with an Etobi, a giraffe-like creature, which lets out a grunt.
She says, "there's been no one for so long. Who are all of you?"
Owen, "I am Owen Jace Skywalker."
Padme, "I'm Padme Jaina Skywalker."
Rey, "and I'm Rey."
The elder, "Rey who?"
Rey blinks, lowering her gaze. Her brow furrows. As she looks after the side, three ghostly figures start to appear.
The Skywalker Twins, Luke and Leia, come into view, stainding side-by-side with Ben, now in clean white robes. They smile warmly at Rey. She smiles back, then turns to the elderly woman, her eyes shining.
And she finds herself surprised when she sees an old man standing by them.
Ben Kenobi, smiling at his granddaughter, proud of the Jedi she had become.
Rey, "Rey Kenobi SkyWalker."
Owen felt his face light up. Not only had Rey chosen the voice of her Jedi grandfather, as well as taking the name of the man she loved.
They see Mara appear, standing before the spirits of her family.
Mara had tears in her eyes as she said, "I guess this is goodbye?"
But to their shock, Luke stepped forward and said, "who says I can't stick around?"
Luke held his hands out, touching Mara's face.
Somehow, she felt them.
Mara, "h-how?"
Luke, "the next generation of Jedi needs help to get started. The spirits of all of the Jedi used their power for this."
Mara, "so, you're back?!"
Luke, "I'm only leaving once you pass on."
Mara smiled as she embraced Luke.
Owen and Padme leave Rey for a second, the young woman watching the family reunite, hopefully for a good long time.
As the twin suns lift into the sky, Rey faces the horizon. Owen stands next to her once more and holds her hand as he faces the same horizon. Padme stands with them, her hand on her brother's shoulder.
Mara stands with Luke, the two of them smiling at the kids.
BB-8 rolls to their side, along with nine and Thumper, who jumped on Padme's shoulder, and they all watch the binary sunrise.
And thus ends our tale.
Where the bloodlines of three powerful Force users unite, making the galaxy safe once more….

Nathanael Card: I tried to appease everyone by having her call herself by Kenobi and SkyWalker. I didn't think her calling herself a Palpatine aat the end worked, so I had her call herself the other two names.

And thus, we end our story.
Instead of just the lightning, we get a lightsaber fight leading up to it being a last ditch effort by Palpatine and his two clones to destroy Rey, Owen and Padme. And on top of that, the three Palpatine's die the way the villains of Raiders of the Lost Ark did. One melts, one dries out, and one straight up explodes.
Hux redeems himself by helping to kill Phasma before going down with the ship.
Owen and Rey kiss at the end instead of her and Ben.
Since the poll had a tie by the time this chapter popped up, I did a compromise, having her take the name of Kenobi and SkyWalker.
And I decided to have Luke come back, staying behind until his work is done, and Mara passes on with him, (kinda like with Gandalf).
