Uzumaki Naruto genin rank shinobi, container and student of the Kyuubi no Kitsune named Kurama and self proclaimed Blazing Fox of Konohagakure was pissed but he was hiding it well...sort of. After his victory against Kiba the next match was decided the two oppenents were Hinata vs the last remaining Oto-nin Dosu. After what went down in the Forest of Death Naruto had sworn to make them pay for what they did to Hinata and now here she was fighting against the last one.
"Seems like its your turn Hinata I know you can do it" stated Kakashi with a thumbs up and an eye smile
Takeru placed on hand on her shoulder "Hinata are you sure you're ok with this you saw what he can do in the forest"
"I remember...Ill be alright Takeru-san" Hinata reassured him and her team placing a hand on top of his, her eyes widened and she nodded then looked at Naruto
"Kick his ass Hinata-chan" Naruto told her in a very calm but caring voice
She smiled and begin walking, she passed Team 9 and her smile was gone. Neji noticed this as he gave her a glance.
'Thats the same look that was on her face when she fought them in the forest, hmph lets see how far you've really come foolish little Hinata' he thought

"KIT...HEY KIT" Kurama called out
'What is it Kurama-sensei Im a little busy at the moment' Naruto snapped
"I CAN TELL I CAN FEEL ALL THE NEGATIVE EMOTION AND HATE THAT BUBBLING UP INSIDE YOU, AND WHILE NORMALLY THAT WOULDNT BE A PROBLEM I WOULD SUGGEST YOU CALM DOWN, THE POINT OF MY CREATING THE KITSUNEMENGAN WAS FOR YOU TO HARNESS AND GRADUALLY BE ABLE TO CONTROL MY POWER WITH OUT BEING ANGRY IF YOU DONT CALM DOWN A LARGE POOL OF MY POWER WILL SWELL UP AND BURST FORTH FROM YOUR BODY HARMING EVERYONE AROUND YOU...AND KILLING YOU AND ME" Kurama stated
Naruto heeded this words and leaned back against the wall and slowly began breathing excersises. 'Thank you Kurama'
"TCH...I ONLY WARNED YOU BEACAUSE I DONT WANT TO DIE AND IM STILL HOLDING YOU TO YOUR PROMISE AND AS I RECALL YOU DONT GO BACK ON YOUR PROMISES" Kurama said in a calm voice "...BESIDES I DONT THINK YOU'LL HAVE MUCH TO WORRY ABOUT FROM THIS FIGHT YOUR MATE IS...NOT AS FRAGILE AND WEAK AS MOST OF THE WOMEN IN THIS KAMI FORSAKEN VILLAGE"
Naruto smiled and nodded 'Uhuh sure Kurama-sensei let that be the only reason'

'Sorry gotta go the match is about to start' Naruto stated cutting the connection before his sensei could go on a rant
Back with Hinata
She finally stood infront of Dosu her back to her team and comrades. Dosu faced her "As I told that monster up there back in the forest..." this cause a growl to escape from Naruto lips "...should we meet again in battle I would not run" he said pulling his sleeve up revaling his sound weapon
Hinata's bangs covered her eyes as she begin to slightly tremble "You...are...wrong Naruto-kun is NOT a monster...he's the kindest, bravest man you'll ever know which is more than I can say for a coward like you" she yelled out turning a small glance at Neji. This out burst reached several ears.
Naruto was shocked and on the verge of tears almost, she didnt even know why he was called a monster but she still defend him. This assured his choice to tell her about his past and his 'guest' inside of him. Takeru heard this and looked at his brother wondering what was going through his mind. Most of the Konoha Jonin and Chunin were suprised at this out burst from someone they saw as a shy wall flower well except for Kakashi and Anko. Sarutobi smiled wide hearing this. 'My how she's grown and I think its in part to you Naruto-kun'
Hinata looked over to Anko who simply nodded her head. Hinata smiled and nodded back she brushed her hair behind both her ears, then reaching for her wrist and undoing the 80 lbs weights from both her wrists. They dropped to the ground cracking in abit, she also removed the weights from her ankles as well. This suprised some of the spectators mostly Team 9 simply because Guy wouldnt think Kakashi would used that kind of training. She looked up to Dosu glaring at him and as she slid into her Jyuken Stance she activated her Dojutsu.
Hayate suprised at the determined look on the young Hyuga's face, he raised his arm. "Both combatants ready" both nodded "Let the 9 match begin"
Dosu waisted no time and shot forward flicking his sound weapon. He punched forward to which Hinata dodges swiftly. Dosu continues swinging his weapon trying to either strike her with it or get the jutsu in place she finally blocks and he smiles behind his wraps. "Foolish girl didnt you learn anything in the forest, time to end this Kyōmeisen (Resonating Echo Drill)"
Everyone stood by and watched to see what would happen. Takeru glared at Dosu 'Thats the same jutsu he used on me in the forest...it wont work this time'
Naruto was growling, the sound attack still slightly effected him but his burning desire to kill the man Hinata was fighting was strong enough to dull the pain.
Dosu was confused normally an enemy would be down by now, but this girl was still up and blocking strike.
Hinata smirked "This is the end for you...you're within range..."
With the Spectators
Hearing this shocked all of Team 9 mostly Neji and then Kakashi and the older older Ninja
'This cant be...I thought' Neji thought to himself
Kakashi smiled 'She has really blossomed...Hiashi-sama If you could see your daughter now I wonder would you regret casting her aside'
Naruto said nothing but simply smiled 'Go Hinata-chan'
Back to the Fight
"...of my field of divination Jūkenpō: Hakke Sanjūni Shō (Gentle Fist Art: Eight Trigrams Thirty-Two Palms)"
Dosu tried to get away but it was too late as Hinata began striking chakra points on his body.
"Two Palms...Four Palms...Eight Palms...Sixteen Palms..."
Finishing up her onslaught of strikes to Dosu's body she sent one last flat palm to his shoulder knocking him back not wanting to kill him.
"Eight Trigrams Thirty-two Palms"
Dosu fell back to the floor, in pain and barely able to move his body he managed to speak.
"H...how...my jut...su should have des...troyed you"
She shifted into a relaxed stance and disengaged her Byakugan, she then reached up to her ears and pulled something out.
"Im sorry I couldnt hear you, care to repeat your self" Hinata asked in a bold tone
"E...ear plugs" Dosu exclaimed surprised
Hinata smiled "Yes...I knew about the effects of your jutsu and got a little help from a friend..." she slightly turned her head and glanced at Takeru who simply nodded
Hayate smiled and saw that Dosu wasnt getting up anytime soon and called the match in Hinata's favor.
With the Genin and other Shinobi
Alot of the older shinobi were impressed with the show of strength from the Hyuga Princess.
Team 7 and Takeru
"Nii-san when did you give Hinata those ear plugs" Naruto asked
Takeru shrugged his shoulders "When I placed my hand on her shoulder I handed the plugs to her"
"Impressive" Kakashi added
Team 8
"Wow Hinata is so strong and pretty she's come a long way from the academy days" Sakura said a bit crestfallen due to her lost
Kurenai smiled "You all have come from those days each of you has grown in different ways and you will continue to grow Sakura" she said placing a caring hand on her students shoulder
Shino only nodded 'Hyuga Hinata hmmm she would have been a valuable asset to this squad but I think Sakura will blossom in due time'
Team 9
Neji remained looking stoic with his arms crossed but on the inside he was fuming. 'It would seem she is not as weak as I once thought still had we fought the match would have been in my favor'
"That was a very youthful match" Lee shouted out
"Indeed" Guy replied with a thumbs up then shot a knowing glance at Neji
Team 10
"Alright way to go Hinata" Choji yelled out
"Im glad she beat that sound nin guy serves him right for what he did to her and Takeru" Ino scoffed and sighed "...but she's the only girl from Konoha that won...well Im still happy for her"
"Well at least this is almost over...so troublesome" Shikamaru yawned
As Hinata began walking back up the stairs the medic came and picked up Dosu. "We're going to take him to room 109 where his other teammates are"
A certain blonde over heard this small bit of news and smiled devilishly until he looked up and saw his teammate walking back to join them. He watched as Sasuke actually gave her real smile and nod, Kakashi place a hand on her shoulder and give a thumbs up.
'She's come so far since we started this Team, she's blossomed from the shy, stuttering wall flower to a strong, confident,...beautiful woman Im happy for her' Naruto thought as he smiled. Hinata turned and looked at him and couldnt help but blush.
"Way to go Hinata-chan you showed him not mess with us" Naruto told her smiling a foxy smile
Her blush deepend "T...thank you Naruto-kun"
The next match was one that could be labeled as amazing, shocking, and devistating. Rock Lee was matched up against Sabaku Gaara, this fight left many speechless at some points as it went back and forth until after and amazing display of power from Rock Lee, it was Gaara that pulled off the win. After serverly injuring Rock Lee and gaining victory Gaara still called for his blood and was about to crush him until Gai stepped in saving Lee but disqualifying him as well but the most surprising thing was that Rock Lee was so determined to win he was still up even though his was completely out of it. The doctors finally came to take Lee away but suddenly asked Gai to the side.
"You are his sensei yes"
"I am"
"Im not going to lie the damage done is very extensive, his left arm and leg have been crushed and his muscules are torn Im sorry to say it but...he'll never fight again his days as a shinobi are over"
"No no no it...it can be true"
Everyone looked at Naruto.
"Naruto-kun whats wrong" Hinata asked placing a hand on his shoulder
"He said that Lee's career as a shinobi...is over" Naruto replied leaning on the railing. Every one of the remaining rookies heard this and gasped.
'Lee...oh Lee I couldnt bare to see you lose...I wanted you to achive your dream' Gai thought as he watched his student get carted off 'But I should have stopped it Lee Im so sorry'
"Its not true damn it its not true..." Naruto cried out as he was about to leap off the rail but Kakashi stopped him.
"Thats enough Naruto..." Kakashi said tugging on his arm
Naruto turned his head and gazed into Kakashi eye with his Kitsunemengan "Let go of me Kakashi-sensei"
Althought a bit unerved Kakashi stood his ground "No you need to listen to me Naruto"
'Naruto...' Takeru thought as he could tell what his brother was thinking and feeling
"KIT CALM DOWN NOW!" Kurama yelled out
"Naruto-kun please..." Hinata pleaded in her natural soft voice
Climbing down from the rail he disengaged his dojutsu. "It isnt fair all he ever wanted to do was prove himself against Neji and Sasuke" he yelled out shaking with anger and saddness
"And maybe thats what lead to his down fall, he was so fixated on that goal that he sacrifced his body...his future to obtain it" Kakashi paused "Now that goal is unobtainable but you're wrong about one thing Naruto...it wasnt just Neji or Sasuke he was thinking about it was you too"
Naruto's eyes widened
"Thats right he risked everything in the hopes of meeting you in combat...remember that and be worthy of his sacrifice" he finished caringly patted Naruto on the head
Neji looked down as they carried his teammate away 'Lee you didnt understand even at the end fate will never smile on the fortune of a ninja who seeks victory by falling on his own sword or demanding that others fall on their's'
Sasuke clenched his fist 'How could he lose like that to that guy when he beat me like it was nothing I wanted...I wanted to face him again as equals or more but it looks like that will never happen now'
Naruto had calmed down a bit he turned his head and glared at Gaara who felt the stare and turned and glared at Naruto. 'You may have a bijuu inside of you like me but you are nothing like me if we meet in combat I will take you down'
'Soon mother will have your blood Uzumaki...Naruto' Gaara thought
Hayate cleared his throat and called for the names of the final match. It was a truly one sided match it was Choji vs Neji and Neji while abit suprised at Choji expanding ability still came out the victor.
"And with that match the 3rd Exam preleminaries are now finished would all winners please come to the center of the arena..." he paused to let all the combatants line up in front of him, Anko and the Hokage "I commend all of you for making it to the finals of the third level of the exams congratualations"
'Here we have 7 shinobi from Konoha and 3 from Suna simply amazing' Sarutobi smiled then cleared his throat "And now I will give an explaination of the final rounds"
Elsewhere
"The preleminaries are over they are moving on to the final rounds" Kabuto said as he kneeled before his master Orochimaru.
"Aside from the gift I gave Sasuke being sealed everything is still going according to plan." he
Kabuto rose up and adjusted his glasses "True but one thing bothers me...I still didnt know about your plans involving Dosu, Zaku and Kin, It would seem that you dont quite trust me Orochimaru at least not yet"
"Did I really need to tell you my right hand man about those three ninja my silence is proof of my trust...I trusted you to act without that knowledge but as of now they are nothing but loose ends that need to be tied..." he paused to began walking away "...I am trusting you...to handle it"
"Very well..." he shushuned away
Back with the Genins
After explaning that the final rounds will be held in a month in order to send out the summons to other countries, Sarutobi told them to step up and pick a paper from a box the Anko was bringing around.
"Good now everyone has one from left to right tell me the contents of your paper" Ibiki called out
Sasuke was first "6"
Then Shino "10"
Then Takeru "8"
Followed by Kankuro "9"
Then his sister Temari "3"
Followed by Shikamaru "4"
Then Naruto "5"
Followed by Hinata "2"
"7" Gaara was next
And finally Neji "1"
"Ibiki you may reveal which of the genins are pared up" the Hokage ordered
Ibiki nodded "Yes sir the 3rd and final Chunin Selection Exam matches are as follows..."
"Up first is Hyuga Neji vs Hyuga Hinata"
"Next up Sabaku Temari vs Nara Shikamaru"
"Followed by Uzumaki Naruto vs Uchiha Sasuke"
"Then the forth match is Sabaku Gaara vs Yoto Takeru"
"And the Final match is Sabaku Kankuro vs Aburame Shino"
The air around the arena became increasingly tense. So many emotions and thoughts ran through everyones minds.
'I have to fight Hinata right off the back...this is perfect' Neji thought as he smirked devilishly
'I must fight Neji-niisan...and Naruto-kun and Sasuke-san are fighting each other' Hinata thought bringing a hand up to her heart
'My match will be a piece of Cake' Temari thought
Shikamaru groaned 'Aw man I have to fight another girl and its the wind chick from Suna...so troublesome'
Gaara said or thought nothing. So did Shino and Kankuro
'So I have to fight Gaara...crap after that last fight I saw him in I have to step up my training 10 fold just to have a chance to survive'
Sasuke said nothing but just stared at Naruto with a determined smile on his face as Naruto stared back at him.
Naruto's mind was a wreck right now. 'I get to fight Sasuke thats awesome...but Hinata-chan has to fight that Neji-teme and Nii-san has to fight that monster Gaara. The two people I care about the most have to fight the people I cant stand...I have no doubt in my mind that they will win but I am genuinly scared for them.'
"FEAR IS A RESPECTABLE EMOTION IN A SITUATION LIKE THIS KIT BUT THE QUESTION IS WHEN THE TIME COME AND THE OUTCOME IS NOT WHAT YOU WANT...HOW WILL YOU RESPOND...PONDER ON THIS BOY AND WE WILL SPEAK LATER TONIGHT AFTER YOUR...EXTRA ACTIVITES" Kurama told him then cut the connection.
Shikamaru asked the Hokage if this tournement meant only won person would be made a chunin. Sarutobi responded by explaining the effects of the final exam and that jugdes will determine who will and who wont be selected as Chunin some of them or none of them.
"There is one more thing I must tell each of you there will be a festival the night before the exam to commemorate the event. Each of you standing before me now must be in attendance as the guests of Honor at the banquet held before the end of the festval. More information about this event will be sent to you during the course of the month. If there are no further questions then let us dismiss till next month rest well and train hard" Sarutobi finished as everyone began making their way to leave.
Kakashi appeared behind his students and adressed them. "Well well Team 7 I am proud of all of you for making it to the next and final level, we will meet in the morning at training ground 7 to discuss your training for the next month for now dismissed"
Hinata and Sasuke nodded and turned around to see Naruto already walking away.
'Oh Naruto-kun what could you be thinking and feeling right now' Hinata wondered
Takeru was running to catch up to his brother outside. "Hey baka where ya going home is the other way"
"Takeru...go home without me for now there is...something that needs to be done" Naruto stopped and said with out turning around
Takeru was abit hurt at how it sounded but deep down he knew "I wont stop you little brother but know this if you go down this road it will change you"
"...That is a risk Im willing to take" and with that Naruto poofed away
Takeru was shocked 'A shadow clone so...he was already gone...Kami help him...huh' he thought as he felt arms wrap around him
"Takeru-kun..." He turned around to embrace Ino.
"Ino-chan"
"Im scared for you we all saw what the sand boy did to Lee...I dont want that to happen to you...I dont want see you get hurt or worse I..." she was cut off when Takeru kissed her to calm her down
"Ino Im making you a promise right now I wont lose to him if you believe in me I will win...can you do that for me" Taker told her pulling her closer in their embrace
Ino reached up and caress his cheek and smiled "I believe in you Yoto Takeru" He smiled and they shared another kiss. "Now go home and rest up babe cause Im going to be helping you train for this month no if ands or buts cause Im going to kicking yours all month long lets go!"
Takeru sweatdropped but then smiled 'Thats the Ino I know she's got that fire back in her eyes...' he then looked up into the sky towards the hospital 'Naruto-kun becareful please dont lose your self'
HOSPITAL
The sun was setting in the sky causing a beautiful redish orange hue to fall over Konohakagure. In the hospital several of the genin that was injured in the 2nd exam or beaten and injured in the preleminares were treated and rested quitely in their rooms. In room 109 the nurse was checking on the three guest in the room they being the 3 Oto-nin Dosu, Kin and Zaku. As the nurse finished and opened the door none of them noticed the fast blur enter the room, she hit the light and closed the door. The light from the setting sun bathed the room in an orange glow leaving shadows in the furthest corner.
"I cant believe we all lost" Kin said still holding her head from earlier
"We got beat by a bunch of brats damn it were not even genin we're chunin and still they beat us" Zaku seethed
Dosu remained quiet for a moment "We got used by Orochimaru like rats to test his precious Sasuke and we didnt even get to do that because of that monster brat damn it theirs no way we'll be healed and ready by the invasion"
"Yeah the sound we'll just have to invade the Leaf without us and ya know what better they die than us" Zaku said still in pain from the holes in his arms.
"Kukukuku...children there is still something you can do to make up for your failure..."
The voice filled the room with dread as they all started looking around for the snake sanin. Finally Orochimaru slowly stepped out of the shadows and walked to the door locking it with a loud sickening click, he then placed a silencing seal on the door that activated in the whole room.
"Good now we are competely alone..."
"O...Orochimaru-sama please forgive us of our failure" Kin began but was cut off when Orochimaru quickly appeared by her bedside and began running his hand across her forehead
"Shhhh Kin-chan as I said there is still something you all can do to make up for your failure" he hissed creepily slithering his hand down the side of her face and then to her neck
Tears began to fall from the young girls eyes "P...please O...Orochi...maru-sa..." she never got the finish her plea. With in and instant her throat was ripped out of place blood gushing all over her gown, and bedsheet.
"KIN!" Dosu called out still barely able to move his body
"You hebi-teme you killed her you sick twisted fuck..." Zaku started to rant before both of them went silent
Orochimaru suddenly turned into a cloud of white smoke and in his place was a shorter blonde haired boy, holding a sword in one hand and Kin's throat in the other. He seemed to glow in contrast with the setting sun. He turned the right side of his face to them, they saw three whisker marks and glowing red eyes with black slits.
"Yes I killed her just like you were gonna kill Hinata-chan or my brother now Im going to kill you...no one messes with my family or friends"
Zaku tried to jump up from his spot on his bed and headbutt Naruto but was met with a ribcage shattering kick knocking him back to the bed and knocking the air out of him.
"No...you die last" Naruto said turning his head to Dosu who was slowly trying to lift his arms to flick his weapon "Not this time..."
In the blink of and eye Naruto jumped over Dosu's and sliced his right arm clean off.
"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" Dosu screamed in true agony
"That was for my brother" he held the metal weapon piece in his hand and crushed it then continued to slice Dosu's other limbs off until he stabbed the man through the heart.
"What the fuck are you goddamn it no stay the fuck away from me" Zaku screamed trying to get away from Naruto as he slowly walked towards him covered in the blood of his teammates, Dosu's blood dripping off his sword. His blood red eyes looking right into Zaku's soul.
"Didnt you hear your friend I am a monster...Im the beast that will do anything to protect his family, friends and the ones he loves the most...you hurt and was willing to kill some one very special to me..." He put the sword away. Zaku watched as his nails and canines elongated "...The last thing you will see is Konoha's Blazing Fox rip out your heart...goodbye Zaku.
Only one other person would know about the events that took place in this room, only one other person would hear the blood curtling screams leave Zaku's throat as Naruto gutted his stomach and then jabbed his hand in the Oto-nin's chest and ripped out his still beating heart crushing it.
