'Come here Leo!' Teddy called to the small toddling boy who was wrapped in a thick blue playsuit. 'I use to live there right at the top. Can you point to the top Leo?'
'Top ffffloor !' Leo repeated enthusiastically pointing to the top.
'Well done! Teddy exclaimed while picking Leo up so he could point higher up.
'You never told me you lived on the top floor?' A voice called from behind her while giving her a kiss on her cheek.
'Well that's because I lived on the 5th to the top floor.' Teddy responded laughing.
'So you are saying that you are lying to our son?' Owen teased while laughing causing Allison to start laughing as well.
'No! I just thought that he's less likely to say the 22nd floor than top.' Teddy laughed while smiling at both Leo and Allison, who looked so cute in their thick blue and pink play suits and matching white fluffy hat and gloves.
'Leo can you say twenty second?' Owen asked Leo while Teddy put him down on the floor again.
'Wenty Ssssecond!' Leo shrieked to Owen and Teddy's delight.'
'Well done Leo! Owen exclaimed smugly to Leo and Teddy.
'Now don't give me that smug look.' Teddy teased to Owen while stroking Leo's curly hair.
'What look?' He laughed innocently
'You know the I'm always right look.' Teddy whispered in his ear.
'Is daddy always right, Allie?' He asked the 1 year old in his arms to Teddy amusement.
'Yesss!' She shrieked causing Leo to laugh.
'Well looks like the jury has spoken!' Owen laughed while ticking Allison causing her to laugh too. 'You know that's why you love me!' He whipped around turning to Teddy, who just looked at him in amusement.
'Well I think the jury's out on that!' Teddy laughed with a twinkle in her eye.
Owen was sat on the small balcony in their hotel room looking over to the vibrant lights of Time square.
'What are you looking at?' Teddy whispered in Owen's ear's while sneaking up from behind him and giving him a kiss. She was dressed in her pyjamas with her soft light blue dressing gown wrapped around her making her look cosy and warm despite it being the winter.
'New York looks so busy and vibrant even at night but up here everything well just looks peaceful.' He spoke quietly aware of the sleeping children. 'I know what people mean when they say it's the city that never sleeps.
'Well that's the magic of New York.' Teddy whispered sitting down next to Owen and snuggling into him. 'It did use to be my home for many years.
'Do you miss it here?' Owen asked placing a kiss on the top of her head.
'It does make me feel a bit nostalgic but it's not home any more and hasn't been for a long time. But I do have to admit that I really miss the snow here.'
'It does snow in Seattle you know?' Owen laughed.
'But it's not New York snow.' Teddy smiled while sitting up giving to look at Owen. 'I loved seeing Leo and Allison in the snow today - it reminds me so much of when I was little here.'
'Well wait and see them in 5 years time in the snow when they both start arguing with each other. Owen laughed while giving a reassuring look at Teddy.
'Well not everyone was you and Megan when they were little.' Teddy laughed.
'Well I hope not because if not Leo's has years of being teased be his bossy sister.'
'Megan care's so much about you!'
'Well that's how you see it.' Owen laughed.
The two just sat there both looking at the vibrant city and all it's life.
'The last time I looked at the city from this high up, it was the night before the towers.' Teddy whispered with a tear in her eye. 'It's weird how long ago that was. How long ago since Allison.'
'I know.' Owen whispered giving her hug. 'I know Allison was way more than a best friend to you especially after your parents died.' Teddy smiled. Owen had always been the only person she could really talk about Allison to and when they were both in Iraq she would talk to to him about her complicated romantic relationship with Allison and he would talk to her about home.
'I don't know what I would of done if I didn't meet you in Iraq.' Teddy smiled. 'You saved me from this massive whole of darkness.'
'You were the only one who understand my PTSD. You were always there for me even if your were thousands of miles away.'
'Well we have had our ups and down's but we always found our way back to each other.'
'I love you.' Teddy whispered. 'I really do.'
'I know.'
'I'm sorry for...'
'Teddy stop that, you made a mistake and we're past that now.' He turned to face her and spoke quietly but seriously.
'Okay then I'm sorry for not telling you that l loved a long time ago.' Teddy whispered quietly.
'You don't have to be alway sorry.'
Teddy sat there and gave a soft smile. 'There are so many things I wish I've done but...'
'Teddy don't dwell on the past, we're here and we're happy.' Owen whispered with his arm wrapped around Teddy. 'We're good.'
Teddy gave a small but forced smile, while staring straight into Owen's eyes.
'Teddy, what are you thinking.' Owen whispered gently. 'You can tell me.'
'I saw Henry and Allison and also my mom.' Teddy whispered with a slight scared look on her face.
'What do you mean?' Owen whispered giving Teddy an concerned look. 'Were you dreaming or what?'
'I don't know but it was after the accident, they were never like any dream I've had before. It was like I was on the other side.' She whispered looking up at Owen.
'Teddy, why didn't you tell me this before?'
'I don't know. The important thing was that I was alive.'
'What did they say, did they say anything, did you speak to them?' Owen asked still a bit confused and in a bit of disbelief.
'They told me to fight, they told me to do what I thought was right.'
Owen sat there silently not knowing how to respond but with a sympathetic look on his face while rubbing Teddy back to comfort her.
'When you initially woke up and then for the second time, you were asking for Mom and Allison. We all thought you were confused and asking for our Allison but you'd just seen your Mom and your Allison, didn't you?' Owen whispered still trying to understand.
Teddy looked up at him and nodded.
'I'm still trying to make sense of it. One minute I was in OR 2 with Henry, then I was in my apartment with Allison and then I was in Central Park with my mom. They were like ghosts but they weren't.' Teddy continued trying her best to explain what happened to Owen, who was desperately trying to make sense of what she was seeing. 'I think those places were the last time I saw all of them. It just feels so weird as it feels like they were still there. I just... I'm just confused...still. You don't think I'm crazy.' Teddy whispered squeezing Owen's hand.
'No no no.' He whispered while giving her a kiss on her head. 'You're not crazy Teddy. What you went through physically and mentally...you're not crazy. You know you could of told me this though.'
There was a small silent where Teddy just looked into Owen's eyes and knew that he was there for her.
'I know I should of. I'm sorry.' She whispered while Owen gave her a look with a smile on his face. 'I mean I'm not sorry, i'm... umm...I love you!' She smiled while resting her head on his chest.
'I love...'
The two were interrupted by a loud thud followed by a cry. Without hesitation both of them got up and raced to their children's bedroom. The went into the dark room, which was only lit by a nightlight plugged into a wall to see a tearful Allison standing up in her Cot looking rather confused at Leo who had gotten out of his small bed.
'Leo! Loud!' Allison shrieked pointing to her big brother who was sat on the floor hiding something behind his back.
'Leo,' Teddy softly whispered. 'What have you got sweetie?' While kneeling on the floor next to him.
'Present!' Leo announced proudly.
'Who for Leo?' Owen gently spoke while kneeling on the floor next to Teddy.
'Mama!' The nearly 3 year old proudly replied while thrusting an big brown envelope at Teddy. 'Here you go!'
'For me?' Teddy exclaimed causing the 1 year old Allison to start giggling. Teddy slowly opened the envelope at the top with her thumb while Owen, realising what it was sighed. Her face lit up the dark room as she started to scan the pages, while trying to angle them so she could see them with the light of the nightlight. Tears rolled down her face as she looked up at Owen, who was next to her.
'I had the whole idea planned and it didn't involve being sat in this bedroom in the dark.' Owen chuckled while looking at his two gorgeous children. 'And me and Leo were practising today with a bit of help from Ali but this clever child must of got a bit too excited and pinched the forms from my bottom sock drawer.' Owen smiled while stroking Leo's hair and grinning at Allison. 'But I've spoken to Amelia about it and even been in touch with Betty about it...'
Teddy sat softly smiling at Leo.
'Leo can you say it now?' Owen whispered in his son's ear.
'Will you be my Mama?' Leo shrieked while looking at Owen who was mouthing the words.
Teddy with a tear in her eye, picked up Leo and twirled him around. 'Oh Leo of course I will, I love you so much!' She exclaimed causing him to giggle, while giving a big smile at Owen.
They were only interrupted when their attention was diverted by Allison, who was in the process of climbing out her Cot only to be rescued by her dad who scooped her up and lifted her into the air.
'I love you and our amazing family and that will be my answer now, that'll be my answer tomorrow and that will be answer always.' Teddy whispered while looking straight into her fiancée eyes. 'Let's be a completely official family. Owen Hunt will you be husband?'
'For the rest of my life.' Owen nodded with a tear down his face, knowing that he had never loved anyone as much in his life than the 3 other people in this room. 'I love you Teddy Altman!'
'I love you Owen Hunt!'
