Chapter 36 The Truth Revealed!
The shift in Tsunade's tone of voice was caught by all the new chunin and they all know something was up. Everyone in the room filed out including the shinobi council made up of Sarutobi Asuma representing the Sarutobi Clan in the stead of his late father, Inuzuka Tsume head of the Inzuka Clan, Hyuga Hiashi head of the Hyuga Clan, Nara Shikaku head of the Nara Clan, Akimichi Choza head of the Akimichi Clan, Yamanaka Inoichi head of the Yamanaka Clan and Aburame Shibi the head of the Aburame Clan. Hatake Kakashi would represent the Hatake Clan if he ever has children, the same could be said for Senju Tsunade herself representing the long dormant Senju Clan. As they exit the mission room Naruto could feel the air around Tsunade shifting she was tense about something. 'Something is up with Baachan'
Kurama scoffed "HMMM SHE DOES SEEM TO BE ACTING STRANGE BE ON YOUR GUARD THOUGH I DO NOT THINK SHE WOULD HARM YOU KIT JUST PAY ATTENTION WE'LL TALK LATER"
They continue traveling down the halls of the Academy and soon enter a conference room to a huge gathering of people. Where the heirs of the clans who were not being made chunin were waiting for their parents minus Asuma who had no kids and minus, Sakura, Lee and Tenten. He also saw Jiraiya, and his adoptive grandparents the Yoto's. Danzo, Homura and Koharu along with the civilian council has been waiting as well. Naruto noticed the three old people he didn't know and caught a glance of the bandaged man something about him rubbed him the wrong way. 'Something is really up' he thought as he stood next to Jiraiya.
"Oi Ero sennin what are you doing here what's going on?" he whispered
A tick mark appeared of Jiraiya forehead as he heard the snickers from some of the clan heads "Shhh gaki all will be revealed soon enough"
"Hokage-sama we have been waiting for an hour please tell us why you have summoned us…" one of the council members called out until they saw Naruto "What is that demon doing here?" the venom in his voice clear as he glares at the blonde shinobi
Naruto was about to growl but he stopped upon a soft hand grabbing his, glancing to his side to see Hinata standing tall next to him eyes glaring at the man who just spoke. He then heard a small growl from Jiraiya effectively shutting the man up. He knew something was up but he was glad to be surrounded by his teachers and team...his family.
"This young man is here as a chunin rank shinobi of Konoha and because this meeting is about him now please come to order…" everyone took their seats, Shikamaru stood by his father, Shino stood behind his father, Kiba stood behind his mother, Ino stood behind her father winking at a smiling Takeru and Choji stood behind his father. Hiashi glanced over at his daughter and she glanced back standing defiant as she next to her boyfriend so it was Neji who stood behind the Hyuga Clan Head. Kakashi stood by the wall next to Jiraiya while Naruto stood in front of everyone with his team and brother by his side. "...I will cut right to it we are gathered here today to discuss Uzumaki Naruto's heritage"
"My heritage...what are you talking about Baach...Hokage-sama" Naruto spoke up slightly startled
"Hokage-sama are you sure this is wise" Koharu began
Tsunade turned to glare at the older woman she sighed "I am following the will of the Third Hokage…" she produced a scroll with the Sarutobi Clan's symbol on it "...it was his wish to see this boy reach the rank of chunin and progress as a shinobi of Konoha and upon reaching the rank Sarutobi-sensei left this scroll as instructions for the young boy."
"How do we know this is true?" a civilian council woman named Shimi spoke up
Tsunade held back her outburst and spoke calmly "Because there was a witness there that night isn't that right Kakashi?"
All eyes including Naruto's all fell on the copy ninja as he held his normal eye smile being just as serious as battle. "Hai Hokage-sama 6 years ago on October 10th I was witness to a plan created by Third-sama to entrust Naruto-kun with this knowledge upon reaching the rank of Chunin…" he turned his eyes to look at Naruto "...which is why he placed me as his teacher to do my best to prepare him for this day...the day you learned the truth!"
"That was...that night you saved me, Jiji wanted me to learn the truth...wait do you mean about the Kyuubi because that bomb was dropped a long time ago by that Mizuki Baka"
The room was silent for a moment as most of the genin's in the room now knew the truth kinda. Another civilian council member named Zeima spoke out "See he knows about the demon...it has control of him we should get rid of him now!" followed by murmurs from the other civilian council members
This time Naruto did growl his eyes slowly changing from blue to red until he stopped not wanting to prove them right no matter how much he wanted to rip them apart. He noticed both Takeru and Sasuke about to move against the man until…
"ENOUGH!" The room went silent as all eyes fell upon Hinata. They were all shocked at the outburst from the normally quiet girl as she continued "You will not continue to speak about Naruto-kun like this, he is not a monster or a demon, he's the strongest, kindest most determined person I know…"
"...he's a hero who stood against the 1 tailed bijuu and his jinchuriki…" Takeru added his fist clenched
"And you have already been warned what would happen if you spoke that way about my friend" Sasuke finished his Sharingan active
Tsunade slammed her fist down gentle so that she only shook the table "Settle down all of you, that will be enough you three…" she turned to the civilians "...now members of the civilian council please refrain from rude comments as this is a meeting that will set the future course of this village...Naruto step forward please"
The blonde stepped forward as his teammates stood to the side next to Kakashi, the copy Ninja proud of them for standing up for their friend.
"Uzumaki Naruto you have reached the level of chunin through hard work and determination just as Lord Third knew you would as such before his passing he made a decree here in this scroll which now fall upon me to now bestow upon you. The decree is that upon you reaching chunin the truth of your heritage was to be revealed to you"
"You keep saying my heritage what are you talking about baachan?"
Before she could hurl something heavy his way Kakashi stepped up to Naruto and kneeled down to meet his gaze
"Naruto-kun you once thanked me for protecting you and Takeru during your birthday. I didn't do it on a whim and I didn't do it because the Lord Third ordered me too but I've been watching out for you all your life because you are your father's son and your father, my sensei was Namikaze Minato the Yondaime Hokage…" he smiled "...Naruto you are the Legacy of the 4th Hokage...you're his son"
"I'm the…Yondaime's son..." Naruto's eyes were wide open in shock
There were plenty of mouths a gape with shock and murmurs heard throughout the room. His friends stood speechless staring at the blonde shinobi
'He's the son of the Yondaime' the majority of the clan heirs thought except for Takeru and Hinata
'I wonder what Nii-san will do with this info and how will the village react' Takeru thought looking towards his grandparents who had a smile on their face showing that they knew all along
'Oh Naruto-kun how must you be feeling' Hinata thought holding a hand on her heart since Naruto had let it go out of shock
Unknown to him Kurama inwardly sighed he knew that some truth's were about to come to light that may change how the boy views him. He cursed himself for not telling the boy sooner he began to plan something for his...container.
Naruto shook out of it "Quit playing around Kakashi sensei I'm not the…"
Jiriaya laid a hand on Naruto's shoulder "Naruto he speaks the truth Minato was my student just like you are, he was brilliant a master of fuinjutsu even better than your mother who was an actual Uzumaki and they were true genius' when it came to fuinjutsu" he produced a scroll "This was pulled from the Hokage archives by Tsunade, he sealed his will in this scroll and it's only able to be opened by someone of his blood line here this will prove it to you"
Naruto was both sceptical but curious he took the scroll and looked at it for a moment before thinking what the hell and bit his thumb drawing blood he smeared it over the seal on the scroll, then and waited "See nothing happened I..." the scroll began to smoke as the seal lit up before disappearing and loosening ready to be opened "...it's true...I am the son of the fourth" Naruto whispered his voice cracking
