This chapter is for Allison117, I didn't want to make you wait for it! Now that this story is done should I post the first chapter of the other story I have been working on? Hmmm.
Chapter 3:
"Mommy?" Came the small voice again.
"Shit." Buffy whispered, quickly walking past Angelus to get into the house.
Angelus raised his eyebrows as he followed Buffy through the doorway and into the living room. He felt like he had been punched in the gut when he rounded the corner and saw a small boy standing in front of Buffy's mother. The little boy was the spitting image of Angelus when he was younger but instead of brown eyes, the little boy had hazel eyes.
"Oh my God!" Joyce's mouth fell open. "You're…" She trailed off looking around the room at everyone else that didn't know as much information as she did. "Buffy's old tutor."
"What?" Xander wrinkled up his face in confusion. "You two know each other?"
"Kinda." Buffy whispered before picking up the little boy.
Angelus was in shock, he couldn't take his eyes off the little boy. Did he have a son? There was no way that little boy wasn't his, he looked too much like him.
"Hi." The little boy smiled and waved at the man he didn't know. "I'm Connor! I'm this many!" He held up three fingers. "What's your name?"
Buffy smiled at the little boy when Angelus didn't respond, he just continued to stare at him. "This is Angelus. He came with Uncle Xander for Friendsgiving."
The little boy gasped. "Pie?"
Rupert laughed at the young boy. "I think you have had enough pie, Connor."
"Fruit Salad?" He tried again.
Buffy nodded at the little boy. "Just a little and you have to remember to brush your teeth."
The small boy nodded happily as Buffy set him down and he ran into the kitchen with Riley on his heels. "I got it."
"I tried texting you." The blonde whispered to her stepfather.
The older man pulled his phone out of his pants pocket. "Unfortunately, it died rather quickly."
"You gotta charge it, G-man." Faith smirked.
Giles frowned at the nickname his stepdaughters friends often called him.
"Connor was playing on my phone for a little while but I didn't receive any texts or calls." Joyce told her daughter.
Buffy shook her head as she kept an ear out for her son. She trusted Riley but it was just a habit to always know what her son was doing. "I figured he would have your phone, I didn't even try getting a hold of you."
"Mommy." Connor whinnied, walking back to his mother a few minutes later. "Riley only gave me a little spoon."
Buffy smiled down at her son when she saw the pink dessert on his face. "You can have more tomorrow. Brush your teeth, bath and then bed. Come on." The little boy pouted but allowed his mother to pick him up. She turned around to look at her ex-boyfriend. "If-if you are still here when I'm done then I will assume you want to talk. If not… well, it's up to you."

A half an hour later Buffy walked down the stairs, she had given Connor a quick bath, helped him brush his teeth and read him a short story before tucking him into bed. She took a deep breath as she reached the bottom of the stairs. She didn't know if Angelus was still going to be there or not. She didn't even know if she wanted him to be there. If he was there then they would have to have a conversation that she wasn't sure that she was ready to have and if he wasn't there then he really didn't care that they had a son.
Buffy looked at her friends that were still there, Willow widened her eyes and pointed towards the back door. The blonde bit her lip before making her way towards the back of the house. Stepping outside into the night, on the porch, she looked at the back of his head as he sat in the patio chair looking out into the yard. She nervously wiped her hands on her jeans before making her way to the patio chair beside him. "Hey." She whispered.
"I have a son." He whispered, then turned to look at her. "He is my son, isn't he? I mean, he looks way too much like me for him not to be."
"Yeah." She whispered back. "He's your son."
"You were pregnant when I left." He shook his head. "Either that or you hooked up with Parker Abrams like the second that I drove away."
Parker Abrams? Gross! That guy was a womanizing man whore that she never even gave a second look at. She had only talked to him twice. Once when he was waiting outside her dorm for her roommate and the other time at a party when Angel had been late. Parker was trying to get her to dance with him when Angel, in his normal Angel fashion, gently took her by the arm and asked her to dance without even acknowledging Parker's existence. He was always saving her. "He's yours." She whispered again.
Angelus rubbed his face and took a deep breath. "Were you ever going to tell me?"
Buffy didn't respond for a moment, she just stared at the grass. "I didn't exactly have a way to tell you. I had no address, no current phone number. I tried to call your cell but it said the number was no longer in service. You were just gone. I figured you changed your number so that I wouldn't call you. I didn't fit into your plan. WE didn't fit into your plan.
"What about today?" He asked, his voice sounded hurt. "You had plenty of opportunities to tell me today."
Buffy shook her head. "Self preservation? I don't know. I didn't expect you to be here. I never expected to see you again. You were supposed to be off living this glamourous artist life."
"Yeah, well not everything works out the way you want it to." He sighed, leaning back in the chair. "I'm sorry, by the way. For… just being gone. It was easier that way. For me. I thought… I thought if I didn't talk to you then it would make it easier for me to be away from you."
Buffy bit her lip in an attempt not to cry. She didn't want to cry, she was done crying over Angelus Doyle. "Why did you come back?"
"Because it wasn't easier for me to be away from you." He told her honestly.
Buffy let out a sigh, looking down at her hands. "I find that hard to believe. After four years, I would expect you to have it down to a science."
"Science was never my thing." He shook his head. "A friend of mine just wouldn't let me give up on my art, even when I wanted to. She would just keep pushing."
Buffy closed her eyes at the mention of a female in his life. She should have known he wouldn't stay single for long, he was the perfect guy and every girl would want him.
"But my mom." He let out a little laugh. "She was always your biggest fan. She kept trying to get me to come back here. To actually include you in the decision making. See if you wanted to come to Boston with me. I didn't think you would. Your whole family is here, school. I said it wouldn't be fair to you to ask you to give all that up. She said it wasn't fair not to ask."
"I would have gone to the ends of the earth for you." She whispered.
He whipped his head around to look at her, after a moment a small smile appeared on his lips. "I guess I should have asked."
"Yeah." She nodded. "But not now. The only one I would do that for is Connor. He's my whole world."
"There's no room in your world for another?" He asked quietly. "R.J.? Riley? The father of your son?"
Buffy felt like she couldn't breath. Was he really asking what she thought he was asking? "Angelus…"
"I really hate it when you call me that." He shook his head, he didn't want to hear her reject him. He just wanted to hear her say she loved him and be able to hold her again.
"It's your name." She whispered.
"Not for you." He disagreed. "I remember-I remember the first time you ever called me Angel. It was the first night we made love, at the Halloween party. You were dressed as a noblewoman and being as love sick as I was, I wanted to go as a couple's costume. Two weeks into meeting you and I was head over heels in love. I never would have worn that stupid wig if I wasn't. I never wanted to hear you say my given name again. I wanted to be your Angel for the rest of my life."
"Wow." Buffy whispered. "And here I thought this was going to be a hard conversation about Connor."
"We could do that." Angelus nodded. "We could talk about Connor and the fact that I royally screwed up by not being around and the fact that he doesn't even know me but I would still want to have this conversation. This hard conversation about how much I still love you, how much I will always love you and I would do anything to be in your life again."
When she didn't reply, Angelus let out a sigh and got up from the chair. "I should go."
"Or…" She reached up, taking his hand as he walked past her. "You could stay."
Standing up, she led him back into the house, past her friend that were attempting to listen in on their conversation from the living room, and up the stairs.
"Get it, girl!" Faith laughed as they all watched the former couple walk up the stairs quickly.

Angelus looked around her bedroom, he stopped dead in his tracks when he saw a picture hanging on the wall across from her bed. "You still have it." He pointed at the drawing of the man and his dog by the lake.
Buffy smiled at him, taking his hand again. "It was the first thing to be put in this house. That drawing is actually how I named Connor." He looked down at her, confused. She smiled, leaning her cheek against his arm. "I gave birth looking at it." She nodded, still smiling. "When I found out I was pregnant, I stayed at the dorms for a couple more months but by the time I was about eight months along I moved back in with my mom, Giles had just moved in too. I didn't even know I was in labor at the time, I mean, yeah, I was in pain but that was nothing new and you know I have a high tolerance for pain. At one point my mom went into my room and asked how much time was between the pains. I wasn't keeping track of course. Before I knew it, I was getting the pains every two minutes. My mom called for an ambulance but they didn't get there in time. I gave birth on my bed, in my childhood bedroom, staring at that picture. It was my focal point, almost like having you with me, in a way." She pointed to the drawing. "Oh, and of course Giles delivered Connor."
"What?" He asked in shock. That means her stepfather saw… he shook his head.
Buffy nodded. "Yup. It's true, embarrassing as it is."
"So, how did the drawing help you name him" he wondered about the origin of his son's name.
"Connor." She whispered. "It's means dog lover."
Angelus smiled up at the picture then looked down at the blonde leaning against him. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry that I missed so much, that I wasn't there when you had our son or the first few years of his life and I'm even more sorry that I wasn't here with you where I belong. I can't say it enough, I'm so sorry. I know it doesn't change anything but I am."
"I know." She whispered.
"Tell me about him." He whispered back, taking her by the hand, he led her back to her bed as he sat down.
Buffy shrugged, sitting beside him. "What do you want to know?"
"Everything."
The blonde let out a small laugh. "Well, he lives up to his name- he loves dogs. He likes books and drawing and he has a slightly unhealthy obsession with me!"
"Wow." Angelus smiled. "He really is my son."
"Like just looking at him isn't enough proof!" She laughed. "You know, you could just let him tell you all about him. That is… if you plan on sticking around."
"I do." He said quickly. "If you will have me."
Buffy smiled up at him, moving so that she could straddle his lap. "I will have you. Will you have me?"
"God, yes." He whispered as she moved her face closer to his.
She gently kissed him as her hand worked on the buttons of his shirt. "It's been a while."
"How long?" He whispered before he kissed her again.
She ran her hands up his chest to his neck. "Since the morning you left."
Closing his eyes, he leaned his head into her chest. "God, I love you!"
Buffy hugged his head against her chest, part of her didn't believe he was actually here with her. It was just another one of her many dreams that he had returned to her. If it was, she hoped she never woke up. "I love you." She whispered into his hair.

"Mommy, mommy!" Connor called as he ran into his mother's room. He stopped when he saw someone else in his mommy's bed.
"What, baby?" Buffy asked, half a sleep. It felt like they had just gone to bed, which was probably true. They had spent the whole night talking and making love.
Connor tilted his head at the man in the large bed. He had his arm thrown over his eyes as if he was shielding his face from the sun. "Daidí?"
"Huh?" Angelus mumbled, he wasn't used to getting woken up so early, let alone by a kid.
The little boy ran from the room but a moment later came running back in the bedroom, shaking the man in the bed. "Daidí? Daidí?"
Angelus moved his arm from his face to look at the little boy then glanced at Buffy. "What's he saying?"
The boy held out a pair of Oz's black sunglasses, for Angelus to take.
He raised his eyebrows at the boy. Why did he need sunglasses inside? Connor unfolded the glasses, reaching up to put them on Angelus' face. He jumped up and down, smiling. "Daidí! Daidí!"
Angelus shook his head, turning to look at Buffy again through the tinted sunglasses. She smiled, realizing that her son was putting it together. "He's saying daddy."
"He isn't just calling me his dad because we are in bed together, is he?" Angelus feared. He didn't want his son thinking any man in his mother's bed was his father. Not that he wanted any other man in her bed to begin with.
Buffy shook her head as she kissed his bare shoulder as Connor ran out of the room again. "This…" she ran her pointer finger along the top of the sun glasses on Angelus' face. "...is how he knows you."
The boy ran back in the bedroom carrying something else. He shoved the item into Angelus' lap before jumping up and down. "Daidí!"
Angelus looked down at a framed picture of him and Buffy on the beach. He still remembered that day. They hadn't been dating long, it was a chilly November day despite the fact that the sun was shining. They had gone to the beach in hopes of having some alone time since it was chilly they figured no one else would be there. His frat brothers, Richard and Tom, had followed him there to give him a hard time about Buffy. Richard and Tom had both messed around with girls in high school but neither one of them would even consider dating one. That day they discovered that they actually liked Buffy and the two frat brothers would often help them sneak around during the course of their relationship. "He knows me?"
"Of course." She smiled, reaching out for her young son. He pulled his small body up onto the bed and quickly snuggled into his mother's arms. "I wouldn't stand for him not knowing you. We talk about you all the time. How do you think my mother knows?"
"She knows?" Angelus raised his eyebrows under the dark shades.
Buffy nodded. "After I found out that I was pregnant, I came clean about everything-our relationship, that you came over everytime she went out of town, the time we went to Ireland. Everything. She saw it as a sign of maturity that I confessed it all to her.. I think she almost let it slip last night and covered it up by saying you were my tutor."
"How many people actually know?" He wondered, leaning back and wrapping his arms around her waist, pulling her back to lay against his chest. Connor squirmed to get more comfortable.
"All of them know about you, how else would I explain Connor?" She smiled, toying with his fingers. "But only Willow, Oz, Riley, my mom and Giles know that it's you."
Connor reached up to his father's face, pulling his sunglasses down his nose. "Daidi." He smiled before pushing the sunglasses back up to cover his eyes. "Daidí."
"Yeah, that's right, Con." Buffy rubbed her son's back. "He's daddy without the sunglasses too."
Connor took the sunglasses off his father and put them on his own face. "Daidí."
Buffy smiled at her son as Angelus turned his head, placing a kiss on her temple. "Why does Riley know about me?"
"He was there…" Buffy paused. "when you left. He saw me crying and he comforted me."
"He likes you." He whispered into her hair.
The blonde shook her head. "No… I mean, there was a time when he asked me out, but I said no and we moved past that."
"He wants to be more than just a friend to you, Buffy." Angelus sighed. "Willow can even see it."
"Does it bother you?" She twisted the top half of her body so that she could look into his eyes. "That he wants something more?"
"Yes!" He exclaimed. "I didn't expect you to put your life on hold for me, never date again but I'm back now and I told you that I'm sticking around. It's just… it's hard to see."
"But I did." She whispered. "Never date… When I looked into the future, all I saw was you. All I wanted was you."
Angelus smiled down at her before kissing her.
"Besides, it's not like guys are banging down the door to be with a single mom." She joked causing Angelus to scowl. "Mmmm. You're so cute when you scowl."
"Mommy." Connor pouted, playing with the sheet that was covering his mother. "Hungry."
Buffy smiled down at her son. "Okay, what would you like, baby?"
"Ahhh." Connor thought for a moment. "Eggs!"
"Okay." Buffy laughed. "We will have to get Aunt Willow for those. But if you want some cereal, I'm your girl."
Angelus smiled at his son. It was still crazy to think that he had a son and that his son's mother was the love of his life. He knew things weren't going to be perfect after just one conversation, but he was willing to do whatever it took. "I could make some eggs."
"Good." Buffy smiled, lightly slapping Angelus' leg. "Willow is probably still sleeping, everyone will sleep in until they think I have most of the clean up from yesterday done. Then they will make their grand entrance and want food."
"How about I help you clean up too?" He offered.
"I think I'm going to like this whole having you around thing." She laughed before rubbing her son's back. "Okay, sweetie. Let us get dressed real quick and then we can make you some eggs."
0o0o0
"I feel like every pot, pan and dish in the house is dirty." Buffy carried a pile of plates over to the sink. "Why haven't I switched to paper plates on Thanksgiving?"
Angelus chuckled as he stirred the eggs in the pan. "It would cut down on the clean up."
"Next year." Buffy nodded, turning to look at her son as he stood by his father. "Alright. Do you want to try the big boy chair or your seat?"
Connor pouted, stepping closer to his father. He knew sitting in the big boy seat meant sitting in the dining room and then he wouldn't be able to be with his daddy.
Buffy watched as the little boy took ahold of Angelus' black dress pants. "Okay, your seat is it." She went over to the closet around the corner to pull out his highchair and placed it near Angelus before picking him up and placing him in the seat. "I think we are going to have a problem." She mumbled, moving her long blonde hair out of the way before snapping the boy into the seat.
"What's that?" Angelus asked, looking down at the small boy.
Buffy sighed. "If he doesn't even want to leave you to go in the next room to eat, then what is he going to do when you go home? He's going to have a meltdown and I'm going to end up with frozen peas."
Angelus paused his stirring to look at the blonde, he didn't think he could be more confused than he was right now. "Frozen peas?"
Buffy nodded. "Yeah. That's why Willow got the frozen peas instead of the fresh ones. Connor had a long day and when he gets fussy… nevermind."
"Well, I don't go back to work until Monday." He turned around to focus on his son's eggs. "I don't have to leave right away… if you don't want me to."
Buffy raised her eyebrows, watching her son's father for a moment, a small smile played on her lips as she watched the large tattoo on his shoulder blade shift with his movements. "You would stay a couple of days?"
"Well, yeah." Angelus nodded, moving the small plate closer to the side of the stove to empty the pan. "If it means being with you longer and getting to know my son."
"You're serious?" She asked, surprised.
He turned around to look at the blonde, leaning back against the counter and crossing his ankles. "Drop dead." He smiled. "If I didn't have to leave by Monday then I would stay longer."
"Who says?" Buffy asked, looking up at him hopeful. Angelus raised his eyebrows at her. "Who says that you have to leave by a certain day? Stay."
The blonde slowly closed the distance between them, wrapping her arms around his waist. "For how long?" He asked.
"How's forever?" She whispered against his lips, standing on her tippy toes to kiss him. "Does forever work for you?"
Angelus smiled as he picked her up by the waist and spun her around before placing her on the counter. "Forever sounds perfect." He whispered. "You know, I have this dream of marrying you, buying a house, getting a dog and having a couple kids."
Buffy smiled brightly, wrapping her arms around his neck. "Well, the house and one kid is taken care off."
Angelus looked towards Connor with a smile before looking back at the blonde. "How about a girl? One that looks just like you."
"How about we start with feeding this little guy." Buffy pointed at their son. "Then maybe move on to the dog."
Angelus nodded with a frown, stepping away from her. "Yeah. Sure."
Buffy hopped down from the counter, smiling at her son. "Since you are sitting in your chair then you are going to drink out of a big boy cup." She grabbed a small plastic cup from the cupboard before grabbing the container of milk from the fridge. She offered it to her son and he happily took it. She looked up at Angelus, his back was towards her as he cut the scrambled eggs into even smaller pieces. "Angel." She whispered.
Angelus stilled, then slowly turned around to look at her. It had been so long since she had called him Angel.
"That's my dream too." She gave him a small smile. "It has been since I was 17. But, it's been four years… can we start off slow?"
Angelus nodded, as much as he wanted to pick up where they left off, he knew that wasn't realistic.
"Plus, sometimes Connor can be a handful. You may not even want another one." She joked grabbing the plate of eggs and placing it in front of Connor.
"We will go slow." Angelus smiled, setting the plate of eggs on the highchair tray. "Maybe start off by doing the dishes."
Buffy smiled back at him. "That could take all day. For some reason the dishwasher doesn't work… Xander was going to take a look at it but I guess… he forgot."
"I can do it." He smirked before opening the cabinet door beside the dishwasher.

"You know, you are spoiling me." Buffy smiled as she walked up behind Angelus where he sat in the overstuffed chair, wrapping her arms around his neck as she kissed his neck. "I could get used to having someone around here to fix stuff." She looked behind them as her bed where Connor was napping. "And helping me get him to nap. He seems to behave really well for you too, but the ultimate test will be going to the grocery store with him."
"We can do that later." He smirked when she went back to kissing his neck.
"Mmm." Buffy shook her head. "No thank you, not on Black Friday."
Angelus laughed, he completely forgot what day it was.
"You know?" She whispered into his ear as she walked around the chair, and climbed into his lap. "Watching you with Connor today, how good you are with him." She smiled down at him. "It was a real turn on."
"Watching a man play with a child…" He leaned back in the chair, placing his hands on her hips. "That's what turns you on? Boy, have you changed."
"Not just any man and any child." She kissed him as she ran her hand down his bare chest. "You and our son. One day and you are already a sexy dad."
0o0o0
"Are you sure?" Buffy questioned as Angelus grabbed her laptop and set it on the stand next to the chair in her bedroom.
Angelus nodded as he opened the small computer. "Of course." He clicked on the icon, waiting for it to load before typing in his login information. "It will be a nice surprise."
"Connor will be waking up soon." Buffy looked over at her son, he always took 2 hour naps, it was like clockwork.
"That surprise might turn into a heart attack." He joked and he clicked on the name, waiting for the video call to connect. "If I don't Skype them then they are going to call Sunnydale PD and have the cops searching the whole town."
Buffy playfully rolled her eyes at him as she went to shut her bedroom door. She and Angelus had finished cleaning the house a couple hours ago and her friend still hadn't emerged from their rooms yet.
"Angelus! It's so good to see you!" His mother smiles as soon as the call connected.
Angelus smiled. "Hey, mom. Where is dad?"
"Here!" His dad smiled, sitting down beside his wife.
"Hey Angelus!" His sister, Kathy, smiled as she sat down with her parents.
"Where are you, Angelus?" His mother asked, searching the screen of her computer. "That doesn't look like your apartment, are you in Los Angeles with Doyle?"
"Yeah, about that." Angelus smiled as he reached out to Buffy, pulling her into his lap, causing her to laugh. "I'm not exactly at my apartment."
Irene gasped as Patrick smiled. "Buffy!"
"Oh my God! Buffy!" Kathy exclaimed. She had thought that she was never going to see the blonde again after the two broke up. It had really bummed her out because they had gotten really close during the week Buffy had spent in Ireland with their family and they continued to keep in touch, calling each other often until the couple broke up. She had stopped calling Buffy because she thought it might be awkward.
"Hi." Buffy waved at the camera.
"We kind of…" Angelus shrugged. "Reconnected yesterday."
Patrick nodded with a chuckle. "We were wondering why you didn't call yesterday."
Angelus smiled and kissed Buffy's temple. "Sorry, I was kind of busy."
Buffy turned to look behind them at the sound of Connor starting to fuss. "See, told you." She smiled and kissed him before getting up to grab Connor.
She gently bounced Connor in her arms as she held him against her chest. The last couple of days he had been moody after waking up from his nap and he liked to be held.
"Buffy." Angelus nodded his head for her to come back. She slowly walked over to him with Connor in her arms. "Guys, there is someone I want you to meet." He pulled her back into his lap.
"This is Connor." Buffy smiled down at her son. "He just woke up so he isn't much for socializing."
"Something he gets from you." Angelus laughed, he laughed even harder at the looks on his family's faces.
Buffy rested her head against her son's. "Can you say hi?" She laughed softly when he shook his head no. "He was much more friendly with you. I'm going to get him a snack, he's nicer once he's been fed."
"Something else he gets from you." Angelus laughed, lightly slapping her butt as she got out of his lap causing Buffy to laugh too.
After a moment Irene tried to look around on the screen to make sure Buffy was gone. "Angelus, I know you and Buffy have a history and you love her but are you ready to take that on?"
Angelus looked at his mother confused. "Take what on?"
"Another man's child!" She exclaimed. "There could be a lot of drama there depending on what their relationship is like and not to mention your jealousy when it comes to her…"
"Irene." Patrick tried to get her to stop talking.
"Mom!" Angelus held up his hands to get her attention. "What are you talking about? Connor is mine."
"Yours?" Patrick asked in shock.
Kathy smiled, excitedly. "I'm an aunt?!"
Angelus laughed at his sister's reaction. "Yeah! Crazy, right? I just found out last night and I don't know, it's like I already have a connection with him."
"Well…" Irene shook her head, trying to wrap her mind around the information. "Are you-are you sure he's yours?"
"Did you see him?" Angelus laughed. "He's me! With Buffy's eyes. I swear, mom!"
Kathy jumped up and down on the couch. "I have a nephew! And Buffy is the mom!"
"He's definitely yours?" His mother asked.
Angelus smiled happily. "Without a doubt."
"Sorry it took so long." Buffy said, carrying Connor on her hip and holding a bowl of mixed fruit in her other hand. "I had to talk Connor out of more fruit salad."
He laughed as he looked up at the blonde, carefully pulling her and Connor into his lap
"And talked him into actual fruit? You must be really convincing."
The blonde shook her head as she turned Connor around in her lap and handed him the bowl of fruit. "Didn't you know that about me?"
"He does look just like you!" Kathy gushed.
Irene smiled as she turned towards her husband and then back to the computer screen. "Well, it looks like we will have to make a trip to see him!"
5 Years Later
Buffy finished putting her earrings in before she adjusted her maroon tunic over her swelled belly. Looking in the mirror, she smiled as she pulled the shirt tight against her growing stomach. She didn't realize how much she had grown, she was barely showing just a couple weeks ago! "Baby!" She called, readjusting her shirt again. "Did Bosco eat?"
Angelus peeked his head around the corner of their bedroom. "Connor fed him."
"Good." She took a deep breath as she turned to look at her husband as he walked further into the room with a little blonde girl on his hip. "Are you going to be ready in time?"
Angelus looked down at his black dress pants, maroon button down shirt that matched his wife's and bare feet. "You mean I'm not ready?"
His wife looked at him unimpressed. "Are you seriously not going to wear shoes to your own showing?"
"Why not?" He smirked turning to the little girl in his arms. "Sophia does it."
The 4 year old blonde girl burst into giggles as her father tickled her. "Daidí! Mommy said shoes!"
"Yeah." Buffy smiled, she found it cute that her daughter had picked up using the word Daidí from her oldest son. What she still didn't understand was how Connor knew that Daidí meant Daddy in Irish and although Angel wasn't born in Ireland that was where his father's family was originally from. She had tried asking Connor where he had heard it before but he would shrug his shoulders. "Listen to your daughter. She's smart, that one."
"Are you saying Connor isn't smart?" He teased her. "I happen to know for a fact that he is the smartest 8 year old that I have."
"I'm the only 8 year old that you have!" The boy with brown shaggy hair called as he ran down the hallway to his bedroom with a large dog hot on his heels. True to her word, five years earlier, they had gone to the animal shelter the weekend after Thanksgiving and ended up adopting a boxer pitbull mix named Bosco. Bosco was Connor's best friend, next to his father, of course!
"Okay, come here, sweetie." Buffy held her hands out to her daughter. "Daddy needs to finish getting ready so we can actually leave on time. Let's get your pretty dress on you." She turned to her husband, giving him a kiss. "Is your mom meeting us here still?"
Angelus nodded as his wife's mini me reached for her mother. "She's going to help your mom watch the kids while we mingle."
"And sell lots of your paintings. Dawn and Andrew are meeting us there too. Oh, and Doyle and Cordy said they would make an appearance tonight, they couldn't get a sitter for the whole night and thought our moms would have their hands full with ours. Although, it's not like Jasmine can get into a whole lot of trouble, she's only a newborn!" Buffy smiled up at him. Buffy's art gallery was finally doing what she meant for it to do, house the love of her life's artwork. It didn't take long for Angel to get back into drawing and painting, but he ended up really enjoying teaching, so he would work on his own art on his downtime. "Now hurry!"
Angelus laughed. "You know how I feel about taking it slow."
"Angel… remember when we got back together and we said we were going to take it slow?" She pursed her lips teasingly. "We ended up adopting a dog a few days later, started the process of changing Connor's last name from Summers to Doyle a week after that, got married a month later and then found out I was two months pregnant with Sophia. I think it's safe to say, you don't take things slow."
"Hey, it's not my fault! I just love you!" He teased her. "And in my defense, I thought my sperm were going to be in a turkey coma just like the rest of me."
"Angel, we are working on baby number three." She gave him a teasing smile. "It's safe to say your sperm don't sleep, let alone take a coma."
"That little bundle of joy in your arms wasn't me!" Angelus pointed at her retreating back. "You were all 'or maybe you should stay' and climbing into my lap! By the way, have I told you how beautiful you look?"
"That's why we are on baby number three!" Buffy laughed loudly as she walked away, she knew he was right, she had been the one to initiate things that night. She just couldn't help it, he was there after so long and he was saying all the sweet things she wanted to hear, not to mention, she just needed him. She longed to be in his arms after so long, to feel him again. Five years later and that still hadn't changed. "Connor, don't forget you are going with Grandma and Grandpa Giles after the showing so grab your bag."
"I thought we were going with Grandma and Grandpa Doyle next weekend." Connor asked, walking out of his room.
"You are." Buffy nodded, rubbing her oldest son's Doyle family had flown to Sunnydale as soon as they found out about Connor and by Christmas time they had moved into the old mansion on Crawford Street to be able to watch him grow up and Kathy was able to attend Sunny U like she always said she wanted to. The Doyle family was overjoyed when just a month after the couple got married they found out Buffy was pregnant again. She hadn't even known she was pregnant, she hardly had time to breathe once Angel came back into her life, it seemed like everyday was a new development in their relationship. Looking back though, she wouldn't have had it any other way. Angel was the missing piece in her life to make her life whole. "I thought you liked going to hang out with your grandparents."
"I do." He shrugged. "It just seems like everytime I do, I end up with another sibling."
Angelus laughed loudly at his son's comment.
Buffy looked towards her bedroom with large eyes, she couldn't believe he was laughing at that! "Well, it's not like I can get anymore pregnant."
"If there was a way then I'm sure you two would find it." Connor smiled teasingly at his mother as he walked by with his overnight bag.
Angelus stuck his head out the bedroom door. "I'm happy you have so much faith in us, son."
Buffy shook her head with a laugh as she rubbed her stomach. She couldn't wait for this baby to be born so the girls would outnumber the boys. Knowing Angel, he would want to start working on baby number four as soon as possible to try for another boy. His logic was the numbers in the house had to be even. He was even trying to talk her into getting a female dog! But, she wouldn't have it any other way. He completed her world and she knew she would give him anything he wanted.
The End
