Author's note: This chapter isn't very different from what happens in TFA. This is my understanding of the events that took place and the thoughts and feelings of our favourite space couple!!

CHAPTER 1:

"Finn! You can't leave now! We promised to take BB-8 back to your base! How can you abandon the Resistance like that?!" Rey exclaimed. Finn was her friend! Surely he wouldn't leave like that?

"Rey. I can't lie anymore. I'll tell you the truth. I'm not with the Resistance. I left the First Order and now I will go to the Outer Rim. Rey you should come with me! It's far safer there. The First Order will not be able to find us. They are dangerous. We must hurry!!" Finn pleaded.

Rey was a good person. She shouldn't die at the hands of the First Order. She deserved a better life. Surely he could reason with her.

"No! I refuse to leave BB-8 behind in a place where the First Order could get their hands on him.

Don't go Finn."

"I'm so sorry Rey. I have to go. Take care of yourself. Please."

With that Finn turned and left. Rey was upset. She thought she'd finnally made a friend but she was wrong, because he left.

Rey's thoughts were interrupteed as she heard the sound of a young girl in anguish, crying. She follows the sound into the castle, turning. Rey steps down into the basement corridor. BB-8 follows

her. Walking carefully and confused, she is not sure why

she's down here. She can hear the echoing sounds of a young girl crying. She heads down the hall... to the very end, where there is a door.

It is almost as if a soulful vibration draws her closer. She looks at the door lock -- and the door opens.

Hesitant, Rey enters. She moves into the dark, small, vaulted storage room. Old treasures line the floors and walls, but there is something specific Rey is drawn to: on a table, an old wooden box.

She moves to it, unsure, afraid, as if an energy from inside

the box has been calling her here. BB-8 nervously follows.

Rey reaches out, very slowly, to touch the box.

She opens it and sees inside a weapon- a lightsaber she assumes. With hesitation, she reaches towards it, but she cannot resist. As her hand makes contact with it, there is the piercing sound of a lightsaber igniting.

Startled she moves her hand away, as Rey hears the sound of mechanical breathing. Disembodied voices filled the air.

She found herself facing what she believed was Darth Vader fighting the legendary Luke Skywalker.

As her surroundings shifted again she saw a young boy - around 5 or 6 years old with mop of black hair looking at a man far, far taller than him with wide innocent eyes. The looming figure's face broke out in a grin - which could be considered grandfatherly but left Rey with a sick and unsettling feeling in her gut.

Her surroundings changed again and she saw a younger version of herself held back by Plutt and screaming, begging "NO!! Come back!!" But the heartless Crolute only pulled at her hand and scolded "Quiet girl!"

The hot sand of Jakku changes into grass and she sees a blue and silver R2 unit beeping in distress bathed in a golden glow. A man appears and falls to his knees and puts a metal hand on the droid, in shock and as though to console it. She turns and sees a domed structure ruined and demolished by a raging fire.

All of a sudden, it began to rain, her surroundings turned black and a warrior is stabbed by a red lightsaber. Then she sees a man flanked by masked figures.

The rain abruptly stops and her surroundings become cold she turns to face one tree among countless others and from behind it emerges, the same cloaked man and his red lightsaber. Surprised, she yelped and fell back into Maz's basement where she is greeted by the pirate queen herself.

"What was that?! I shouldn't have gone in there!!" She croaks breathless, perplexed and alarmed.

Maz equally surprised says "That lightsaber was Luke's and his father's before him and now it calls to you!!"

Rey gets up fast, still overwhelmed. "No, I have to get back to Jakku to my family!"

Maz sighs resigned, "Han told me." She reaches out and holds Rey's hand in a motherly gesture.

"Dear child. When I see your eyes I can tell you already know the truth. Whomever you are waiting for on Jakku they're never coming back but there's someone who still could."

"Luke?" Rey asked hesitantly.

Maz simply gave a small shrug and continued "The belonging you seek is not behind

you. It is ahead. I am no Jedi,

but I know the Force. It moves

through and surrounds every living thing. Close your eyes. Feel it. The light. It's always been there. It will guide you. The saber. Take it."

Rey abruptly stood.

"I'm never touching that again. I

don't want any part of this." With that see bolts, passing Maz, who simply sighs feeling for the young girl. Rey exits the castle, needing to run, but doesn't know where to and heads toward the woods.

Rey moves through the foliage, heart racing she feels scared and hears an unsettled scream of terror-- an omen of something horrible to come.

On the bridge of the Finalizer stood a masked Kylo Ren. From the view port he saw the stars shining in the distance.

Hux had finnally finished his speech. The time had come. Starkiller Base was going to be used to destroy the entire Hosnian System.

He swallowed the bile that rose in his throat at the thought of so much destruction, soon he would have to feel billions - no trillions of life forces just fade.

He didn't agree with this, at all but he knew if he said anything he'd never hear the end of it, from Snoke or from Hux. Hell, Snoke would belittle him saying he was still clinging onto the light or even torture him, so he kept his mouth shut.

The scarlet beam of Starkiller then cut through the pitch black of space and basked the Finalizer in an eerie blood red glow.

He turned and left. They got a lead on the map- on the planet of Takodana.

He remembers him visiting the old woman's castle as a child - but no, this was no time for such sentiment.

He had a job to do.
