Chapter V

"The One With Ross and Rachel Wedding Part I"

Today is the day they will leave New York to Hawaii. Rachel had prepared everything the day before, their overpacked luggages, Emma's stroller, their tickets and everything they needed during the flight. But yet she still felt anxious. It is 6 AM in New York, it is true that this city never sleep. Even at 6 AM you could already heard cars outside the street.

Rachel woke up and tried to move slowly so she wouldn't wake Ross who's still asleep next to her. She then checked on Emma and tucked her in. After checking on Emma she went to their master bathroom and took a shower.

She then heard a footsteps and it turned out to be Ross.

"Hi honey, Did I wake you up? " She asked as she continued to wash her hair.

"No.. I set the alarm early today." He replied

"Care to join me in the shower? " She teased

"It would be my honor. " He smiled.

"Ross? " She said.

"Hmm? " He replied.

"Do you realize by the time we went back to New York we'll be husband and wife? " She asked.

"Yes I'm pretty sure I'm aware of that" He giggled.

"No. I mean last year by this time I wouldn't think I would be getting married to you"

Ross pulled her closer to his body, stared into her eyes and said, "Me neither, but I never feel so much happier in my life"

"Me too.." She replied and she kissed her.

"I can't wait to finally be able to call you my wife." He said with a smile which she quickly returned.

"And I can't wait for you to be my husband." She said.

...

It is in the middle of July in the Island of Honolulu, Hawaii. The weather couldn't be more perfect. The sky is so clear and bright. Rachel, Ross, and Emma had all arrived in Hawaii. Waiting for them is Monica, Chandler, and Ben who's already arrived a few hours earlier. Monica and Chandler had to pick up Ben because Carol and Susan both can't attend the wedding due to their busy schedule at works.

Ben is running toward Ross and gave him a hug.

"Hi daddy! I miss you! " Ben said.

"Aww.. I miss you too Ben" Ross smiled and replied.

"Hii Emma!" Ben poked her baby sister cheeks gently and Emma giggled and smiled shyly.

"Hi Aunty Rachel" he smiled

Rachel bends over and talked to Ben.

"Hi Ben! Why don't you held Emma's hand and go to Aunt Monica and Uncle Chandler's car. We'll be catching you soon." Rachel said.

"Okay" Ben said and he then held Emma's hand carefully as he walked toward Monica and Chandler.

"Uhm, Rach..You can just go to the car first and wait there with them. I'll catch up. " Ross said.

"You sure you can handle the luggages alone? We have a LOT of stuff." Rachel replied and he giggled. It was mostly her stuff anyway.

"I'll call Chandler. Just wait in the car with Emma and Ben. Emma seems tired from the flight." Ross said.

"Okay" She said while he kissed her and then she left.

Ross then called Chandler to help out with his luggages by waving at him and signaling him to come with his hand.

"So are you ready to get married? For the fourth time." Chandler asked which earned him a dirty look from Ross.

"I don't know. I don't want to mess this up." Ross replied

"Okay let me help you out with this." Chandler helped to carry their luggage as they both walked to the car, and then he joked, "I only have one advice for you, Ross. You better say the right name at the Altar or you'll be forever known as, Ross Geller, divorced four times.".

Ross hit Chandler's shoulder and replied " Hey! Of course I will! It's Rachel."

...

They finally arrived at their suite. It was a two bedroom, one bathroom, a living room, a small pantry, and a private pool villa. Rachel put sleeping Emma in her room while Ross walked Ben back to his parent's room. A few minutes later, Ross came back and saw Rachel was unpacking their luggage. He walked towards Rachel and gave her a hug from the back.

"Hey, is she asleep?"

Rachel turned her head back and replied with a smile

"I just put her in her bed. She seems so tired."

He turned her body facing him, pull her closer, and kiss her.

"I can't believe by this time tomorrow I'll be someone's wife." She said

"Well that guy is surely one hell lucky guy." He joked.

They chuckled

"I'm serious, I probably the luckiest man alive." He added.

"Well you better be ready, because you're about to get luckier." She winked at him as she sauntered into their bedroom sexily.

"Wow well done, Ross" He patted himself mentally and then followed her into their bedroom.

It is now 8 pm, the rehearsal dinner is about to start but both the groom and the bride are nowhere to be seen.

Monica and Phoebe, well, mostly Monica, started to feel anxious.

"I think I'm going to go to their room Pheebs. Just to make sure everything is fine." Monica said.

"Okay, I'll wait here." Phoebe replied

When Monica about to leave the room, Ross appeared followed by Rachel who's holding Emma in her arms.

"Where have you guys been? The rehearsal dinner is about to start." Monica asked

"We're sorry. Someone is being cranky and don't want to be separated with her mommy." Rachel explained.

"Ross come on! You're a 36 years old man, it's about time to stop being mama's boy." Phoebe said.

Ross gave him a glare and replied, "It's Emma"

"What's wrong with Emma?" Monica asked

"I don't know, she's clearly not in a good mood today. Probably she's just tired." Rachel replied.

"Did anyone see Joey? He said he will be here around five, but I haven't seen him anywhere." Phoebe asked

"Well we haven't left our room since we got here. We haven't seen him." Ross explained.

"I haven't seen him either." Monica replied.

"Should we wait for him? Have you called him Pheebs?" Rachel asked, concerned.

"I'll try to call him, but we have to start the rehearsal dinner now." Monica replied

"Yeah, we'll call him. You two just enjoy your night. I'm sure he's fine, his flight probably got delayed or something." Phoebe tried to reassure Rachel.

Ross picked up Emma from Rachel's arm and said, "Monica and Phoebe are right, let's go in. Everyone is waiting for us."

Rachel put her arms around Ross' and they walked inside together. After they left, Monica and Phoebe were trying to call Joey.

"Still no answer?" Phoebe asked

"No" Monica replied

"Let me try to call him again" Monica added

"Hello? Joey? It's me Monica. Where are you? We're about to start the rehearsal dinner." Monica said.

"I'm sorry Mon. There was this miss understanding between my agency and the filming company. I have to stay in L.A to film some stuff. But don't worry my flight will leave in an hour. I'll make it to the wedding tomorrow. Tell Ross and Rachel I'm sorry." Joey replied over the phone.

"Okay, have a safe flight. I'll talk to them." Monica said and then she hung up the phone

"So?" Phoebe asked

"His flight will leave in an hour. He will make it to the wedding tomorrow." Monica replied

"Oh, thank God. I thought he wasn't going to come." Phoebe said.

"What do you mean?" Monica asked curiously.

"I have a feeling that Joey isn't over Rachel yet." Phoebe said.

"You mean he's still in love with Rachel?" Monica asked in disbelief and Phoebe nodded, "Wow. Then it will break his heart. Maybe I should talk to Chandler later and find out more about this. Joey tells him everything." Monica added.

"Yeah, you should. I feel bad for him." Phoebe said and Monica nodded in agreement.

"Do you think they know?" Monica asked.

"Who?" Phoebe asked, clueless.

"Duh? Rachel and Ross?" Monica asked and Phoebe shrugged, "Maybe that's why they decided not to use Joey as the minister." Monica added.

"Oh, no. That will crush Joey." Phoebe said.

"I know!" Monica blurted out.

"So, what do we do now?" Phoebe asked.

"I don't know. Let's worry about that later. Okay, let's go inside, we're late." Monica added.

Both of them went inside the room as the rehearsal dining began.

It is time for the best man to make the toast. Chandler rang his glass and stood up. He promised Rachel not to make a single joke today, he was trying really hard to keep it up.

"May I have your attention please? As requested by the bride, I wouldn't make any joke today, so I'm sorry if my speech is dull." Chandler said.

The crowd left a small giggle.

He cleared his throat, looked at Rachel and Ross, and continued, "I would like to make a toast for the happy couple, my college best friend who happened to be my brother in law, Ross, and to the beautiful bride, my best friend, Rachel. These two always belong to each other, even though they're the only two people who don't realize it. It only took them ten years, three failed marriage, a daughter, and a life changing decision to move to another country to finally realize it. But all of those things only made them wiser than ever. I've never seen any other couple that fit each other perfectly, aside from me and my wife Monica, of course, than these two. I love you guys, and I wish all the best for you two. Cheers to the long awaited wedding! "

As the guests cheers, Ross stood up and begin his speech.

"Thank you Chandler for the speech and also thanks to all of you for making time to join us in this beautiful occasion. First of all I can't begin to explain how happy I am to finally be in this place. I'm going to marry the girl I fell in love with since I was 15. My 15 years old me would be dying of excitement if he can see us right now."

He giggled, then he held Rachel hand, smile, and continued

"I first met Rachel when I was a kid. She's my little sister, Monica's best friend. I always saw her as a friend, until one day, I started to fell in love with her and it never stop. She was this famous girl in school and I'm just her best friend's geeky older brother. I haven't met her again ever since I graduated college, and I was too coward to ask her out back then. I thought I will never going to see her again. I thought I missed my chance to ever ask her out. But yet 10 years ago this beautiful ran away bride entered the coffee house and the rest is history."

He looked at Rachel in the eyes, smile, and said, "I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you. I love you."

Rachel then kissed him and whispered, "That was beautiful. I love you too."
