Chapter VI
"The One With Ross and Rachel Wedding Part II"
"Wow Rach, you look so pretty." Phoebe said as she entered the room.
"Thank you Pheebs" Rachel smiled.
"Are you ready?" Monica asked
Rachel took a deep breath and she nodded.
"I'm so happy for you Rach.. We're going to be sister-in-law!" Monica screamed
The three of them hugged.
"Aww thank you so much guys. I love you" Rachel said.
It was sunset in Hawaii at the top of the cliff facing the ocean. There were not many guests invited, a few close friends and family members of both sides. The decoration was dominated with the color white, gold, and yellow, it was simple yet elegant.
The wedding was starting.
Everything was perfect as they planned. Ross was standing in the altar looking very nervous in his black Armani tuxedo.
The band started to play the song 'Isn't She Lovely' by Stevie Wonder.
The first to enter the venue was Ben, as the ring bearer. He was holding his little sister, Emma as they walk down the aisle and scattered flower petals.
Then the bridesmaid, Monica and the groomsmen, Chandler walked in.
Followed by the second bridesmaid and groomsmen, Phoebe and Joey.
Then, entered the bride, Rachel.
She was breathtaking in her broken white laced wedding dress.
Walking by her side is her proud father, Dr. Green who couldn't hide his feelings as her once spoiled daughter now has become an independent woman who's about to get married to the love of her life.
Everyone stood up while the bride entered the room.
On the right side, there were Jack Sr., Judy with baby Erica and Jack on their lap, Ben and Mike sitting next to them. On the left side, there were Sandra, Emma, Jill, Amy, and Grandma Green. Behind them was a few of Rachel's aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Ross who saw Rachel for the first time that day couldn't believe what he saw. He always knew how beautiful Rachel is, but today it is different. She was breathtaking and she was his bride.
As the bride reached the Altar, Dr. Green gave Rachel away to Ross and gave him a simple nod.
Ross took her hand and whispered to her ear as they faced each other, "You look so beautiful, Green."
She smiled back and whispered, "You don't look so bad yourself, Geller."
The minister then opened the ceremony, "Friends and family. We gather here today to witness and celebrate the wedding of Ross Eustace Geller and Rachel Karen Green. I think everyone in this place knew the history between these two and agree that these two are made for each other. And today they will begin their life together as husband and wife. The groom and the bride will deliver their vows to each other. First Ross, then followed by Rachel."
Ross took a deep breath, looked at Rachel in the eyes, held her hands, smiled, and then he began to start saying his vows.
"Rachel. If I haven't said it enough, I'm so lucky to have you in my life. Back when we first dated I always knew we would end up together at some point, but I started to hesitate when we broke up a year later. I thought I lost you forever. But yet, in one drunken night in Vegas, we somehow got married. We both knew it wasn't a right thing to start a marriage drunk, so we decided to get a divorce. By the time we're about to sign the divorce paper, I realize I still in love with you after all this time, but I didn't have the courage to do anything about it. Even after we had Emma, I was still too afraid to do anything, to tell you the truth about my feelings, about us. But then one day you decided to move across the continent and the thought of not going to see you every day hit me. I realized I want to spend the rest of my life with you. I love you. I will never let you go ever, again. So that day, the day I chased you down to the airport, was the best decision I've ever made in my entire life."
He paused for a few seconds and continued,
"Rachel Karen Green, I love you, it's always been you, Rach. I promise to love you, us, and our little family for the rest of our life. I promise to devoted my life to you, to be faithful and honest in every step of the way, to support, honor, and respect you and your career, to make you laugh and be the shoulder when you cry, to take care of you in sickness and in health, to be your companion and your best friend, until death do us part. I love you so much."
Rachel couldn't hold her tears, she took a deep breath, wiped her tears, looked him in the eyes, and started to say her vow with her shaky voice.
"About nine years ago I once asked this to a friend. I asked him if I will ever going to find a love that is so passionate, if I will ever find the love of my life. I thought I will never found the one, but he assured me that one day I will found the one, a relationship so passionate that will change my entire life. Little did I know, I was standing in front of it the whole time. Ross, you are the love of my life. It's you, and it will always been you. You're worth the wait."
She smiled, and continued,
"Ross Eustace Geller, I promise to love you as long as we both live. I promise to love us, our family, and any other future kids we may have with all my heart. I promise to stand by you and support you through sickness and health, to good times or bad times, to be there for you whatever the future may holds. I love you, Ross."
The minister then took the ring and handed them the ring and they exchanged it.
"And now by the power vested in me by God and the State of Hawaii, I hereby pronounce you as husband and wife. You may kiss your bride."
Ross and Rachel kissed as the guests started to cheers.
Soon after, the wedding reception began. The sun has set, the venue filled with candles and romantic music.
"Ladies and Gentleman, I present to you, Mr. And Mrs. Geller." The band said.
The guest started to gather as the bride and groom about to start their first dance.
Ross and Rachel danced to the music for the first time as a married couple.
"Hello.. Mr. Rachel" Rachel said to Ross.
"Well.. hello Mrs. Ross" He answered with a grin.
"Noo.. no.. Mrs. Geller. Rachel Green Geller." She smiled at him
"Are you sure?" He asked.
"Yes" She replied with a smile.
"Okay then, I love you Mrs. Geller" He said.
"Well I love you too Mr. Geller" She said.
Ross was kissing her when suddenly Dr. Green interrupted.
"Ross, Can I?"
"Sure, Dr. Green."
Ross handed Rachel to her father and left to find Ben and Emma.
"Hi Dad, thanks for everything and for not killing Ross" Rachel said smiled.
"Well I might kill him if she ever make you cry." He replied
Rachel's tears suddenly started to flow.
"Hey what's wrong sweetpea." He looked concerned
"No, it is fine. I just can't believe this day is finally here" She replied as she tried to wipe her tears away.
"Look, sweetheart, I always believe you and Ross would end up together at some point. That's why I am so mad at him when he didn't marry you after you got pregnant with Emma." He said.
"That is not entirely his fault, we decided it together. At that time it seems like the right answer." She explained.
"Well.. Let's forget about that now. Besides, I'm so proud of you for raising Emma alone while pursuing your career." He said and smiled.
He kissed her cheeks and hugged her tightly.
"I love you daddy.."
"I love you too sweetpea"
Then Dr. Green lightly tapped her in the shoulder and pointed at Ross'.
"Look at him. He's dancing with Emma. And look at Emma's face, she looks so happy"
"I know.. I couldn't ask for a better husband and a better father to Emma" she smiled.
Ross saw them, waved, and then walked towards them. Dr. Green gave them some space and walked away.
Rachel greeted Emma, picked her up from Ross' arms and said, "Hey honey, you look so beautiful in this cute pink dress." She said
The little girl giggled.
"Emma, did you know mommy and daddy are now married?" Ross asked
"Mommy and Dada" Emma answered then smiled brightly.
"Yeah, that's right honey, mommy, dada, and you are going to live together forever." Rachel replied and smile.
"That's right, us and soon your little sibling" Ross added
Rachel gave Ross a glare.
"Ross. One at a time please." Rachel said.
"Alright, whenever you are ready." Ross gave each Emma and Rachel a kiss as they danced together as a family.
Monica, Chandler, Joey, Phoebe, and Mike walked towards the happy family.
"Look at you two, I'm so happy for you guys" Monica said.
"Aww! Thank you honey" Rachel replied.
"Hey Joey you made it! We were worried you wouldn't be able to make it!" Ross gave Joey a hug.
"Of course I made it. I wouldn't miss it for the world. I will buy a boat and sail it here alone if I have to." Joey joked and the gang laughed.
"By the way, congratulations guys. I'm so happy for you two." Joey added.
Phoebe and Monica shared a knowing look and smiled.
"Aww.. Thank you honey." Rachel said as she hugged him.
Joey looked at Emma and greeted her.
"Hi Emma, do you remember me? It's me, Uncle Joey. We used to be roommates." Joey asked
"Jo-ey!" Emma mumbled and giggled.
"Yes, that's right. I'm Joey. Wow, she's getting good now." Joey said as he looked at Ross and Rachel
"Yes, she can say names, a few words, and animal now," Ross replied.
"Try to say this Emma, 'How you do'-"
"No!" Rachel yelled as she tried to stop Joey.
They all burst into laughter.
"Hey guys, since the wedding is over, Mike and I would like to make an announcement." Phoebe said.
"Yes, we are expecting." Mike added
The gang cheered, they couldn't be any happier today for both couple.
"Congratulations guys.. So how far long are you Pheebs?" Monica asked
"It's been two months now. We just went to the doctor right before we come here. The baby is growing and healthy." Mike replied
"Yes! I'm going to be a mom!" Phoebe yelled excitedly
"Yayyy! I'm so happy for you guys" Rachel added.
They all hug each other for today was one of the happiest moments of their life.
The wedding ended beautifully as planned. No one is gay, no one is drunk, and everyone said the right name. This wedding marked the beginning of Ross and Rachel's life as a married couple, a new page of their life.
