Once Upon a Time in Enchancia

Welcome to Chapter 56 of "Once Upon a Time in Enchancia". Song in this chapter: "The Lord bless you and keep you" (yes, the song is making a second appearance in "Once Upon a Time in Enchancia". The song originally appeared in Chapter 10).

Chapter 56: New Things (Part Two)

September 9, 1870

It was a Friday in Enchancia. At the park located between Hexley Hall and Royal Prep, ten-year-old Elizabeth was getting ready for lunch at a picnic table when her adoptive father (Sir Maxwell) raced up.

"There you are, Elizabeth," Sir Maxwell smiled. "I'm terribly sorry, but choir practice has been moved up to ... now."

"But Dad," Elizabeth started, "it's lunch."

"I know, sweetheart," Sir Maxwell apologized. "But we had to move it up to accommodate Sam. We're turning it into a combination choir practice and lunch."

"I can live with that," Elizabeth smiled.

"We'd better get going," Sir Maxwell advised as he gently hugged Elizabeth.

In a few minutes, Sir Maxwell and Elizabeth arrived in the choir room of Royal Prep where ten-year-old Timothy, eleven-year-old Samantha "Sam" Cook, seventeen-year-old Mira, and other members of the choir were waiting.

"Thank you all for agreeing to this new schedule," Sir Maxwell announced. "I think you'll agree that it will be well worth it to accommodate Miss Cook. I'm also proud to announce that after some doing, I've managed to add to the choir another talented singer - Mira, the royal detective of Jalpur. Let's hear it for Miss Cook and Miss Mira."

Sir Maxwell and the rest of the choir clapped in appreciation of Sam and Mira.

"It must be hard to be the royal detective of Jalpur and to go to Royal Prep at the same time," Sam observed.

"Not really," Mira smiled. "Before I started attending Royal Prep, I attended regular school in Jalpur. My detective work back then was done between school sessions. Now that I'm attending Royal Prep, it's just a different school."

Sam nodded in understanding as Sir Maxwell stepped forward. "If everybody will turn to page seventy-three, we'll get started."

The choir opened their books, then started singing.

"The Lord bless you and keep you. The Lord make his face to shine upon you. To shine upon you and be gracious. And be gracious unto you."

"The Lord bless you and keep you. The Lord make his face to shine upon you. To shine upon you and be gracious. And be gracious unto you."

"The Lord lift up the light of his countenance upon you."

"The Lord lift up the light of his countenance upon you."

"And give you peace."

"And give you peace."

"And give you peace. And give you peace."

"That was absolutely wonderful," Sir Maxwell praised. "As for Miss Mira and Miss Sam, the two of you are going to make a genuine asset to our choir."

Mira and Sam smiled at each other in pride.

"We'll do another song, then we'll have lunch," Sir Maxwell announced.

Meanwhile, at Scarlett's palace in Cinnibar, Scarlett walked into a large meeting hall.

"Okay," Scarlett began, walking into the meeting hall where her fellow magical queens were meeting. "Thank you for meeting me here, ladies."

"It was our pleasure, Scarlett," Elena of Avalor acknowledged, giving a curtsey. "Now as to why we're here?"

"It's obvious, Elena," Cecily of Zumaria spoke up. "The Witch Revolutionary Front. They're extremely powerful and they have an enforcer who's an immortal. We're discussing what to do with them."

"About that," Anna of Arendelle began. "I know of somebody who might be able to help."

"We know you're a Voyager," Elena revealed.

"I thought it only fair that all of you know," Anna smiled.

"I take it, then, this somebody is another Voyager?" Cecily asked, curious.

"Yes," Anna admitted. "You might want to brace yourselves. The person coming here was quite famous during her time. You'd be surprised who some of us are."

At that moment, a white-skinned woman with short brown hair appeared out of thin air.

"Queen Rapunzel?!" Scarlett, Elena, and Cecily exclaimed in shock.

"Surprise!" Rapunzel grinned in nervousness.

"Nice to see you again, old friend," Anna smiled at Rapunzel as the two hugged.

"And it's good to see you, Anna," Rapunzel smiled back.

"What do you have for us?" Anna asked Rapunzel, curious.

Rapunzel brought out a piece of paper and looked at it. Written on the paper was an incantation ...

"Power of the sun. Gift me with your light. Shine into the dark. Restore our fading sight. Rise into the dawn. Blazing star so bright. Burn away the strife. Let my hope ignite. Let hope ignite."

"This might just give your Hematite a fighting chance," Rapunzel instructed. "This is the Hope Incantation. Be careful, however. It packs a punch. You'll need some of the Sundrop Flower to fully activate the incantation. I used my Omni to go back in time and get some for you."

"Thank you," Scarlett said, grateful, as Rapunzel handed Scarlett the incantation and flower.

Later that afternoon, at Royal Prep, Timothy was in art class which was being taught by Miss Fauna. Timothy was having a hard time concentrating and ended up falling asleep at his easel. As he slept, a new power was manifesting itself within him - the power to contact people in other dimensions.

"Who are you?" a man's voice asked Timothy as he slept.

"I'm Timothy O'Toole," Timothy responded. "Who are you?"

"I'm Mister Perri," the man answered. "I represent the Magisterium."

"Magisterium?" Timothy asked, puzzled. "What's the Magisterium?"

"What?!" Mister Perri asked, shocked. "You've never heard of the Magisterium? Where are you from?"

"Timothy," Miss Fauna said as she gently awoke Timothy. "You fell asleep."

"Sorry, Miss Fauna," Timothy apologized.

As Miss Fauna continued to teach class, she thought to herself. "That was close. Timothy must have the unconscious ability to talk to people in other dimensions. I stopped him just before it was too late. The Magisterium is a dangerous organization. I'd best tell Chrysta about this after school."

After school, Miss Fauna waited behind Royal Prep. As she waited, Chrysta flew up.

"I got your message," Chrysta said to Miss Fauna. "What did you need to talk to me about?"

"Timothy O'Toole is developing a new ability," Fauna started. "The unconscious ability to talk to people in other dimensions in his sleep. He almost made full contact with somebody from the Magisterium."

"Did this person from the Magisterium find out anything about our dimension?" Chrysta asked, worried.

"No," Fauna reassured Chrysta. "I was able to wake up Timothy before that could happen."

"Good," Chrysta responded, relieved.

September 10, 1870

It was a Saturday afternoon on the Mystic Isles. Timothy, riding his broom, had been led there by Chrysta. In a few moments, the two landed at the Protector's Castle on the Isle of Protectors. Waiting in front of the castle was Vega.

"Welcome, Timothy," Vega smiled. "Thank you for accepting my summons."

"I figured you wouldn't send for me unless it was important," Timothy acknowledged.

"It is important," Vega confirmed, before turning to Chrysta. "I'll let you know when it is time for you to take Timothy back to the Ever Realm."

"Understood, Vega," Chrysta acknowledged as she flew off.

"Why did you call for me?" Timothy wanted to know.

"I understand you can talk to people simply using your mind," Vega revealed.

"How did you know?!" Timothy asked, taken off guard. "That only happened yesterday when I fell asleep in art class."

"Fairies such as Miss Fauna are very talented in seeing and sensing things," Vega began. "It is a talent they don't exactly reveal to the public. But it exists nevertheless."

"Why are you telling me this?" Timothy asked.

"Because Miss Fauna sensed that you were talking to somebody in another dimension," Vega answered.

"I was talking to somebody in the other dimension where there are countries instead of kingdoms?" Timothy inquired.

"That dimension is only one of many," Vega informed Timothy. "There are other dimensions out there as well, but they are more complicated. Call them alternate realities if you will. In one such reality, Lucinda's birth mother is Queen of the Witch Territory. In another such reality, Candice overthrew Maleficent, and became the new Mistress of Evil."

"Oh, my!" Timothy gasped in shock.

"Not all the alternate realities are bad," Vega said in a reassuring voice. "There are many realities where good is the law of the land. If you'll come with me, I have something to show you."

Vega led Timothy into the Protector's Castle, and the two walked into a heavily guarded room. Vega and Timothy walked into the room, while Vega closed the door behind them.

"This room is one of our highest secrets," Vega informed Timothy. "I must ask you never to reveal this room's existence to anybody outside of the two of us."

"I promise," Timothy affirmed.

"Good," Vega smiled. "This room is the portal of alternate realities. We have Protector agents stationed in each reality. They are there to keep an eye on things."

"Why tell me this, Vega?" Timothy wondered as Vega walked over to a control panel, and activated it.

"Because of this particular alternate reality," Vega explained. "This is an alternate reality ruled over a powerful organization known as the Magisterium. The Magisterium controls the people there by telling them what to believe. The Magisterium masks this by having people believe they are telling people what to believe in a kindly way, like a parent would guide a child. But, when you look into it deeply, the Magisterium is all about control, and is all about taking away people's free will. Follow their beliefs, and their beliefs only."

"That sounds terrible," Timothy thought out loud.

"Free will is one of our greatest rights over here," Vega admitted. "If the Magisterium were to find out about other realities, they would try to find a way to enter those realities to force their will on everybody."

"We can't let that happen!" Timothy exclaimed.

"Indeed we can't," Vega agreed. "And that starts with you. When you were sleeping yesterday, you were communicating with somebody from the Magisterium. Miss Fauna managed to wake you before you could reveal the existence of other realities. When you communicate with others while sleeping, you must never reveal where you come from, or the existence of other realities. You never know who you might be communicating with."

"I'm sorry," Timothy apologized. "I didn't mean to cause any trouble."

"You have nothing to apologize for," Vega gently said as she hugged Timothy. "You didn't know. Now that you do know, you know what not to say to somebody you are communicating with."

"Nobody will find out from me about where I come from, or that other realities exist," Timothy promised.

"Then we have an agreement," Vega happily acknowledged. "I'll take you to get something to eat, and then I'll have Chrysta take you back to the Ever Realm."

September 12, 1870

It was the middle part of a Monday morning at Hexley Hall. Seventeen-year-old Jade had a free period, and she decided to go to the Tourney field to watch sixteen-year-old Lita Mizuki and the rest of the Hexley Hall Tourney team practice. As Jade arrived, she saw Lita running down the field taking part in a Tourney maneuver. Suddenly, Lita dropped to the field, unconscious.

"Lita!" Jade yelled out in worry as she and those in the Tourney team ran over. At that same moment, Tourney coach Shang ran over.

"She's unconscious," Shang announced as he gently picked up Lita. "I'm taking her to the infirmary. Practice is over for today."

"I'll come with you," Jade said to Shang, concerned.

"Let's hurry," Shang urged. "I want to get Lita to the infirmary as soon as possible."

In a short while, Jade and Shang arrived at the Hexley Hall infirmary with a still unconscious Lita. Two nurses put Lita into a bed, while Jade sat down next to the bed.

"I have to inform Headmistress Lovegood about what has happened," Shang said as he left.

"I'd like to stay with Lita if you don't mind?" Jade requested of one of the nurses.

"Of course," the nurse agreed. "Miss Mizuki is lucky to have a loyal friend like you, Princess Jade."

As the nurse walked away, Jade sat looking at Lita. Out of the corner of her eye, Jade saw the spirit of a pegasus that was not her Skywind. At that same moment, Jade's Amulet of Satu started glowing, and from it emerged two teenage boys.

"Hello," one of the boys smiled. "I'm Jaden Yuki from Duel Academy."

"And I'm Jesse Anderson from North Academy," the other boy added, using a southern accent. "Why are you so sad, Jade?"

"My friend here is unconscious," Jade sadly answered. "I don't know what to do."

"Looks like your friend has a case of dehydration," Jaden observed as he looked at Lita.

"It is rather warm out today," Jade admitted.

"We see this every so often during duals," Jesse informed Jade. "When she wakes up, get some fluids into her, and she should be fine."

"Thank you," Jade acknowledged, grateful.

"Jesse and I have something for you," Jaden started. "You, like the two of us, can see Duel Monster spirits. We're here to present you with a deck of Duel Monster cards. The cards have magical properties."

"Your deck has Elemental Heroes and Neo-Spacions, like Jaden's deck," Jesse added. "Your deck also has Crystal Beasts in it, as my deck does."

"You'll also find that your deck includes the associating trap and spell cards, just like in mine and Jesse's decks," Jaden spoke up. "Your Amulet of Satu will give you the knowledge to use the cards in your deck."

"I'll keep my deck by my side," Jade promised. "Thank you."

Jaden and Jesse smiled, then disappeared into thin air on their way back to where they had came from. At that same moment, Lita started waking up.

"Ouch!" Lita said as she woke up. "I did a stupid thing. It was a warm day today, and I forgot to hydrate myself before Tourney practice. I was just in a hurry to get started. Stupid, huh?"

"Yeah," Jade agreed. "But, you're okay, and that's what counts."

At that moment, one of the nurses walked up. "I see our patient is awake."

"Yes," Jade acknowledged. "Turns out Lita forgot to hydrate herself before Tourney practice."

"A foolish thing to do," the nurse agreed. "But easily remedied. I'll get Miss Mizuki a sports drink that will help. I'll be right back."

In a few minutes, the nurse returned with an orange-colored sports drink and instructed Lita to slowly drink it.

"This tastes good," Lita smiled as she started drinking.

"It's the orange version," Jade observed. "Candice loves the orange version."

"I can see why," Lita admitted. "I'm sorry for all of this."

"I should be mad at you," Jade began. "But, we're all entitled to the occasional mistake. Just please don't let it happen again."

"Yes, ma'am," Lita joked.

September 24, 1870

It was a Saturday morning in the Kingdom of Lacorinth. At Lacorinth Castle, Queen Lydia was laying in bed when five-year-old Princess Emily walked in.

"Aunt Lydia?" Emily asked, nervous. "Is it okay if I come in?"

"Get in here, you," Lydia smiled.

Emily was the daughter of King Graham's sister, Princess Eva. Emily was the result of a love affair between Eva and a prince from a faraway kingdom. Long story short, one day the prince was lost at sea. Eva raised Emily on her own. Then the sickness came in 1867, and Eva was affected by it. Eva managed to recover but always suffered after-effects because of it. In 1868, the sad day came where Eva died as a result of those after-effects. Graham and Lydia took Emily under their wing and raised her as part of the family.

"How are you feeling, Aunt Lydia?" Emily asked.

"Very pregnant," Lydia joked, before turning serious. "Don't worry. I'll be fine. I'm not going anywhere."

Emily gently hugged Lydia, as Lydia returned the hug. At that moment, seventeen-year-old Jade walked in. Jade smiled at the touching scene.

"Jade!" Lydia happily exclaimed. "I was told you were visiting."

"You didn't think I'd miss you giving birth," Jade smiled.

"Where is everybody?" Lydia wanted to know.

"Sofia, Lucinda, and Amber are showing Ruby around the castle," Jade started. "King Graham is downstairs meeting with King Roland. Queen Miranda and James are relaxing in the sitting room. And Violet, Dorrie, and Candice are preparing everything for when it's time for you to give birth."

"I'm lucky to have Violet, Dorrie, and Candice," Lydia happily admitted. "I couldn't be in better hands."

"And what am I? Chopped liver?" Lydia's owl, Eezeyal, spoke up.

"You know you're my bestie, old friend," Lydia smiled at Eezeyal.

At that moment, a maid walked into the room.

"Princess Emily," the maid smiled. "Time for your mid-morning snack."

"I'll see you later," Lydia cheerfully said to Emily.

As Emily and the maid walked out of the room, Lydia looked at Jade and noticed a card holder attached to Jade's belt.

"Something new?" Lydia asked Jade, curious.

"Yes," Jade acknowledged. "A deck of Duel Monster cards. There are Elemental Heroes, Neo-Spacions, and Crystal Beasts in the deck."

"A rare thing in our world," Lydia pointed out. "Where did you get them?"

"From Jaden Yuki of Duel Academy, and Jesse Anderson of North Academy," Jade explained. "My amulet summoned them."

"Ah!" Lydia acknowledged. "Not of our world. From the other side?"

"That's the impression I got," Jade confirmed.

"Jaden and Jesse," Lydia thought out loud. "If I have a boy, these would be good names for him."

"Perhaps Jesse Jaden ... as a first and middle name," Jade suggested.

"You know, I rather like the sound of that," Lydia smiled, before turning serious. "Oh, my! My water just broke."

"You're going to give birth?!" Jade asked, taken off guard.

"I'm afraid so," Lydia confirmed. "Go get Violet, Dorrie, and Candice."

"I've got this," Jade said as she ran from the room. "Violet! Dorrie! Candice!"

"We're right here," Violet said in a reassuring voice as she, Dorrie, and Candice quickly walked up. "What's going on, Princess Jade?"

"It's Lydia," Jade started. "Her water has broken."

"When?" Violet wanted to know.

"Just now," Jade answered.

"You've better go and tell the others," Violet instructed, before turning to Dorrie and Candice. "Let's go and deliver a baby, shall we?"

As Jade raced off to find the others, Violet, Dorrie, and Candice walked into the room where Lydia was laying down.

"I'm afraid it's time," Lydia announced.

"Indeed, it is," Violet confirmed as she examined the scene. "Candice, close the door. Dorrie, get my instruments out."

"Yes, Mom," Candice and Dorrie acknowledged.

"Their cool under fire," Lydia observed of Dorrie and Candice, impressed.

"This isn't their first birth," Violet explained. "Their becoming old hands at this."

A new arrival

A while later, everybody was gathered in the hall near the room where Lydia was giving birth when the door opened. Everybody looked up to see Violet standing there.

"Would you like to meet your son, King Graham?" Violet smiled.

Everybody in the hallway clapped as Graham walked into the room. Graham smiled as he saw Lydia laying in bed holding the newborn baby. Standing on a nearby table was Eezeyal.

"He's a handsome fella, Liddie," Eezeyal happily said.

"Thank you, Eezeyal," Lydia acknowledged with pride, before turning to Graham. "Come meet your son, Graham."

Graham walked over to where Lydia and the baby were. Lydia gently handed the baby to Graham who lovingly cradled the baby in his arms.

"Hello, little man," Graham smiled. "Welcome to the world."

"Any idea on a name, Queen Lydia?" Violet asked, curious.

"Actually, Jade had an idea," Lydia started. "Jesse Jaden."

"I like it," Graham happily approved. "Jesse Jaden Rancourt. A fine name for our little prince."

Out in the hallway, everybody looked up to see Dorrie and Candice emerge from the room where Lydia had given birth.

"Everybody," Dorrie smiled, "The Queen and her baby boy are doing well."

Everybody clapped in joy as Candice walked over and handed a piece of paper to a man who was the royal town crier. The man then walked off.

"You'll all get the chance to go in and see the baby," Candice happily announced. "As is tradition, we'll start with the baby's grandparents. King Roland and Queen Miranda, if you'll follow us?"

As Dorrie and Candice escorted Roland and Miranda into the room, everybody else who was gathered smiled and clapped. Meanwhile, outside of the castle, a crowd had gathered, having heard that Lydia was giving birth. The royal town crier approached the crowd and started ringing his handbell.

"Oyez, oyez, oyez. On this day, the 24th of September in the year eighteen hundred and seventy, Lacorinth Castle is proud to announce the birth of a newly born baby boy to the King and Queen of Lacorinth. God save the King."

The crowd erupted into applause and cheering. Meanwhile, back in the castle, Roland and Miranda approached Graham (who was standing) and Lydia (who was in bed holding baby Jesse).

"Oh, Lydia," Miranda smiled as she looked at Lydia and baby Jesse. "He's so handsome. How are you feeling?"

"A bit tired, but okay," Lydia smiled back.

"We won't keep you too long," Roland happily started. "Miranda and I wanted to congratulate you and Graham."

"Thank you, Dad," Lydia acknowledged with a smile.

"Thank you, Roland," Graham also acknowledged with a smile.

Outside of the castle, an official written announcement in a wooden frame was displayed on an ornate golden easel.

"The King and the Royal Families of Lacorinth and Enchancia are delighted at the news that Her Royal Highness Queen Lydia of Lacorinth safely delivered a son at 10:48 am today. Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well. The child's name is Prince Jesse Jaden Rancourt of Lacorinth."

Back in the castle, it was Sofia, Lucinda, and Emily's turn to visit Lydia.

"Hi, Lydia," Sofia smiled.

"Sof," Lydia smiled back. "Come see Jesse."

"He's so cute," Lucinda beamed as she gently tickled baby Jesse under the chin, causing him to giggle.

"Jesse is going to make a fine prince," Sofia happily commented.

"Emily," Graham beaconed. "Come over and meet Jesse."

"Hi, little baby," Emily smiled, as baby Jesse smiled back.

"He likes you," Lydia happily noticed.

"Emily, your Aunt Lydia and I have something to ask you," Graham announced.

"What, Uncle Graham?" Emily wanted to know, curious.

"We've raised you since your mother died," Lydia began. "Graham and I have come to love you very much. So much so that we'd like to officially adopt you and become your parents."

"You mean that?" Emily asked with tears of happiness in her eyes.

"We sure do, kiddo," Graham smiled. "Lydia and I want us to be one happy family. And Jesse is going to need a big sister to guide him."

"You betcha," Emily happily agreed, as Sofia and Lucinda smiled at the touching scene.

Next, it was James and Amber's turn to visit.

"Hello, Lydia," James greeted.

"You look wonderful," Amber smiled at Lydia. "And what a handsome baby."

"Thank you," Lydia acknowledged, pleased.

James gently stroked baby Jesse's face, as baby Jesse smiled at James.

"He's going to be a handful," James joked. "Baby boys are."

"And how would you know?" Amber asked James. "Surely, you don't remember your life as a baby, do you?"

"I do, remember when Cedric changed me into a baby that one birthday of ours?" James revealed.

"But how?" Amber asked, shocked. "You said you didn't remember anything happening."

"Not immediately," James winked. "But, over the next few years, it slowly came back to me through dreams. And, I forgive you, Amber. It was kinda nice to be a baby again, if only for a little while."

James and Amber then hugged, as Graham, Lydia, and Emily smiled at the touching scene.

After James and Amber's visit, it was Jade and Ruby's turn to visit.

"There's my two girls," Lydia smiled. "But, I can't call you girls anymore. You're fine young women now. Princess Jade of Satu. And Ruby Hanshaw, head student of Pepperton House. The two of you have come a long way."

"Thank you, Lydia," Ruby acknowledged, pleased, as she and Jade stepped closer to get a close look at baby Jesse.

"He's such a cute baby," Jade smiled as she held baby Jesse's hand.

"Bless him," Ruby happily added.

After Jade and Ruby's visit, Violet, Dorrie, and Candice walked up.

"We've best be letting Queen Lydia get some rest," Violet suggested. "We'll take the prince to the nursery."

As Graham, Violet, Dorrie, and Candice started leaving with baby Jesse, Lydia looked at Candice.

"A moment, please, Candice," Lydia started, "if you don't mind?"

"We'll be in the nursery," Violet smiled as everybody left, leaving Lydia and Candice alone.

A revelation

"I wanted to thank you ... for telling me everything is going to be all right," Lydia announced.

"When did I do that?" Candice asked, puzzled.

"Well ... your future self did," Lydia revealed with a smile. "I was having mood swings one day during my pregnancy, and your future self showed up out of thin air. She was quite compassionate, and put my mind at ease. Thank you."

"You're welcome ... in advance," Candice smiled back, still a bit puzzled. "Did my future self reveal anything else?"

"It's okay," Lydia said in a reassuring voice. "I know about your, Dorrie, and Violet's lives as Voyagers. And I promise I won't say anything to the outside world about that."

"Thank you," Candice acknowledged, grateful.

"I've got to admit, you Coopers are full of surprises," Lydia chuckled as she pulled out a small envelope from under her pillow.

"Is this information from the future?" Candice asked, weary.

"Your future self said not to go all Doc Brown over this, whatever that means," Lydia said as she handed the envelope to Candice.

"I get the reference," Candice smiled.

"Your future self also said to tell you this has the blessing of Voyager Command," Lydia added.

Candice used a nearby letter opener to open the envelope, then took out a handwritten letter and read it.

My dear Candice:

Sorry about jumping our personal timeline like this, but it needed to be done to keep everything on track. Before I get started, some personal news from the future (and don't worry, it's stuff you would have easily figured out anyway). Frederick and Dorrie are doing well with their medical practice. Meanwhile, Everett and I are doing well as King and Queen of Ornburgh. Everything is right with the world here.

And now onto what you need to know. Keep an eye on the Witch Revolutionary Front. They are a dangerous bunch, but I don't need to tell you that. What I do need to tell you is that a battle is coming between the forces of good and the Witch Revolutionary Front. Preparation for that battle will bring together an unlikely pair of allies in the form of Carla (now Rita) and Victor who will resolve their differences and work together for good. Trust them, Candice. You'll be surprised just how good a pair of allies they will make.

Meanwhile, changing gears as it were, Jade and Timothy will be having an encounter with two people from the other side named Jaden Yuki and Jesse Anderson in the near future. Everything will work out. I just wanted you to know so you won't be surprised when it happens.

In the envelope is a small plug-in computer chip that you'll need to install in your electronic Voyager guidebook. It is a chip that will override your guidebook's protection circuit to a small degree. Normally, Voyagers aren't allowed to know too much about their personal future. The chip will allow your guidebook to alert you to events coming up in your near future that you'll need to know about. Mind you, it won't alert you to everything about your near future. But, it will give you helpful snippets that will guide you in the right direction. Use that information well.

Sending you all my best from the future. I know you can do this.

Yours faithfully,
Queen Candice of Ornburgh.

Candice reached into the envelope and pulled out the computer chip which was encased in a hard plastic protective sleeve.

"What do you have there?" Lydia wanted to know, interested.

"An edge, Queen Lydia," Candice smiled. "An edge."

(To be continued in Chapter 57).

Regarding Duel Academy, Jaden Yuki, Jesse Anderson, and North Academy in "Once Upon a Time in Enchancia", we'll consider these to be adapted for the "Sofia the First" universe.

Carla (now Rita), Elena, and Victor are from "Elena of Avalor".

Doc Brown is from "Back to the Future".

Elizabeth West-Chadwick, Hematite, Samantha "Sam" Cook, Skywind, and Timothy O'Toole are characters created by MisuteriTenshi / SailorWednesdayMercury and are used in this story with the permission of MisuteriTenshi / SailorWednesdayMercury.

Emily came about as a result of an idea from Brigade701.

Eva is originally from my story "Sisters".

For more about Carla (now Rita) and Victor's relationship in "Once Upon a Time in Enchancia", see Chapter 3 of "Once Upon a Time in Enchancia". The idea of bringing them back together in "Once Upon a Time in Enchancia" was based on a suggestion by 6ekearl. Understand that in "Once Upon a Time in Enchancia", their relationship is different than it appears in "Elena of Avalor".

"Frederick and Dorrie are doing well with their medical practice" - this bit of information about Frederick and Dorrie's future life was first alluded to in Chapter 26 of "Once Upon a Time in Enchancia".

"I do, remember when Cedric changed me into a baby that one birthday of ours?" James revealed - this is a reference to events seen in the "Sofia the First" episode "Two Princesses and a Baby".

Jade and Ruby would have been at Lacorinth Castle because, as readers of GradGirl2010's stories will remember, they are close friends of Lydia's. Jade, now being a princess, would have had access to a flying carriage which would have allowed her to travel to Lacorinth, and she brought Ruby along for the ride.

Lita Mizuki was created by MisuteriTenshi / SailorWednesdayMercury and myself.

Lydia and Eezeyal are from GradGirl2010's stories "My Sister's Keeper", "My Sister's Teacher", and "My Sister's Acceptance", and are used in my stories with the permission of GradGirl2010. Readers of my stories will remember that Lydia (in my stories) is Queen of the Kingdom of Lacorinth (being married to King Graham of Lacorinth), and is also the royal sorceress of Lacorinth.

Maleficent is from (in order of appearance) "Sleeping Beauty", "Maleficent", "Disney Descendants", and "Maleficent: Mistress of Evil".

Mira is from "Mira, Royal Detective".

Miss Gayle Lovegood (A.K.A. Headmistress Lovegood) is originally from my stories "Dorrie" and "Dorrie: Book Two", and is an ancestor of Luna Lovegood from "Harry Potter".

Naming Lydia and Graham's baby Jesse Jaden was the idea of MisuteriTenshi / SailorWednesdayMercury. Meanwhile, I came up with the last name of Rancourt for the Lacorinth royal family.

Omni and Voyager are from the "Voyagers!" TV series.

Oyez: a call given by a court officer or a public crier, typically repeated two or three times to command silence and attention.

"Oyez, oyez, oyez. On this day, the 24th of September in the year eighteen hundred and seventy, Lacorinth Castle is proud to announce the birth of a newly born baby boy to the King and Queen of Lacorinth. God save the King" - this is based on crier announcements made at recent British royal births.

Rapunzel is from "Tangled" and "Tangled: The Series".

Ruby became head student of Hexley Hall's Pepperton House in Chapter 35 of "Once Upon a Time in Enchancia".

Shang is originally from "Mulan" and "Mulan 2".

"That dimension is only one of many," Vega informed Timothy. "There are other dimensions out there as well, but they are more complicated. Call them alternate realities if you will. In one such reality, Lucinda's birth mother is Queen of the Witch Territory. In another such reality, Candice overthrew Maleficent, and became the new MIstress of Evil" - Lucinda's birth mother being Queen of the Witch Territory is from my story "Four Princesses and a Baby"; the reality where Candice overthrew Maleficent is from Chapter 55 of "Once Upon a Time in Enchancia".

The Amulet of Satu is from SailorWednesdayMercury's story "From Villager To Princess Book 1".

The Hope Incantation is from the "Cassandra's Revenge" and "Plus Est En Vous" episodes of "Tangled: The Series" (also known as "Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure").

"The King and the Royal Families of Lacorinth and Enchancia are delighted at the news that Her Royal Highness Queen Lydia of Lacorinth safely delivered a son at 10:48 am today. Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well. The child's name is Prince Jesse Jaden Rancourt of Lacorinth" - this is based on written announcements made at recent British royal births.

The Kingdom of Cinnibar is a kingdom created by Jake H Voronkov and is used in my stories with permission from Jake H Voronkov.

The Kingdom of Jalpur is from "Mira, Royal Detective".

The Magisterium is an earlier version of the Magisterium from "The Golden Compass".

The Scarlett Warrior (A.K.A. Scarlett) (A.K.A. Queen Scarlett) (A.K.A. Queen Scarlett Katherine Felchenerow) is a character created by Jake H Voronkov and is used in my stories with permission from Jake H Voronkov.

The scene with choir practice was the idea of MisuteriTenshi / SailorWednesdayMercury. I added in Mira and the song "The Lord bless you and keep you" to help fill things out.

The scene with Jade, Jaden Yuki, Jesse Anderson, and Lita was the idea of MisuteriTenshi / SailorWednesdayMercury. I added in Lita being dehydrated to help fill things out.

The scene with Scarlett meeting with Anna, Cecily, Elena, and Rapunzel was the idea of Jake H Voronkov. I threw in the Voyager aspect to help explain Rapunzel's presence there (since in "Once Upon a Time in Enchancia", Rapunzel is from an earlier time). I also threw in the Hope Incantation to help fill things out.

The scene with Timothy sleeping in art class, and unconsciously activating a new power within him, was the idea of MisuteriTenshi / SailorWednesdayMercury. I added in the Magisterium to help fill things out.

Tourney is from "Disney Descendants".

"Your future self said not to go all Doc Brown over this, whatever that means," Lydia said as she handed the envelope to Candice - this is a reference to events seen near the end of the movie "Back to the Future".
