Chapter 3

I own nothing but my ocs

The next day was slightly eventful.

It soon seemed obvious to the five, now labeled the VKs (Villain Kids), weren't as openly welcomed as it first seemed. Everyone avoided them, except for Ben, Myles and Doug. Though the five were neither surprised nor cared, it still did slightly hurt.

Their first remedial goodness class was, as Mal figured, boring. Asking scenarios of people in trouble or the like and pick the right answer, or as Mal put it 'pick the one that doesn't sound like fun'.

Considering she barely even thought about it, she mostly was plotting on how to get the wand. She was so busy she didn't hear the scenario and wasn't sure what to pick when suddenly a student came in to talk to FG, saving her baccon.

"Oh, this is my daughter, Jane" FG said introducing the girl in question, she was a shy young, about fifteen, wore a blue dress and a mousy dark brown hairdo with a blue hairbow in top. Needless to say, she looked like she was terrified of the VKs and went back to talking to her mom about signing early dismissal for the coronation and ran out squeaking in fear passing the five.

Mal smelled a possible opportunity but Megan noticed something else she couldn't put her finger on.

When the bell rang, Mal raced out as the others went out as well until Fairy Godmother spoke up "oh, Megan? Can you stay behind for a second? You're not in trouble" she said as Megan looked to Evie, Carlos and Jay and nodded for them to go on ahead. As soon as she got up to the desk, FG instantly went from friendly and kind to serious and businesslike "um .. you sure I'm not in trouble?" Megan said with an awkward smile.

"I want to trust you, I want to trust all five of you. I hope you know that" she said as Megan nodded in confusion "that being said, it's unavoidable to acknowledge you've been raised by villains, and villains plot … for mischief or other things it doesn't matter, but this is a trial living arrangement. I want it made clear that these students are under my protection and I do not want them hurt. Especially Myles" she said which made Megan even more confused.

"Why him especially?" She asked as FG just sighed sternly "Myles has a good heart, and as you might have noticed; not many friends. But those he deems to be … likable, he becomes loyal very strongly and very quickly. It's both a good quality and a terrible one because any betrayal he would get would not only darken his heart, but shatter it. And one day there might be one so bad it would destroy him" she said as Megan crossed her arms.

"You think we're that bad, huh?" She asked obviously assuming the worst, which FG picked up on "no of course not-" "so why?" Megan asked, interrupting her. Fairy Godmother hesitated before answering.

"As you might have guessed from yesterday, ours is a … difficult relationship. But despite what Myles might think of me, I do care" she said before looking right at Megan in the eyes "I worry about him … constantly" she said with slight emotion that Megan was sure seemed weird. Genuine, but weird.

"I know i can't tell you to stay away from him-" she started before standing back up "but please, prove to me I'm only overreacting, okay?" She asked as Megan nodded and was dismissed. Walking out to the hall, she was surprised to see all of the other VKs, including Mal, waiting for her. Megan repeated what just happened while Mal told her about her talk with Jane and even magiked her hair to look cool

The girl in question walked by confidently just as Myles came into view and raised his eyebrows at the fairy who only glared at him and kept walking, which didn't go unnoticed.

"Wow … do you get along with any fairy here?" Mal asked but Myles only sighed "It's a childish feud, i know" he said looking back at Jane who just turned a corner.

"Never would have thought a good fairy to hold a grudge … what'd you two do?" Evie asked but Myles only shook his head and smiled at them walking down the hall with them. "So, how are your classes going?" he asked, more than wanting to change the subject.

"Just got through our first Remedial Goodness class … not sure if i should be honored or annoyed the Headmistress herself is teaching it" Mal said as Megan frowned in remembrance to what FG said.

"Yeah she can be … bubbly … but she's a good teacher" Myles said offhandedly as Megan chuckled. "Wow, I think that's the first nice thing I've heard you say about her" Megan said as Mal smirked. "I don't hate her if that's what you're suggesting" Myles said going to his locker "I just … never got along" he said with a shrug as Ben and Audrey came by, the latter looking at the group with venom in her eyes.

"Hey Myles, mind if i steal Jay and Carlos? Fairy Godmother suggested they should try out for the Tourney team" Ben asked as the two VKs looked hesitant. Myles, however, glanced at the two in question. "Hmm … actually that's a good idea considering this one coming up is your last match. Coach could use some new players"

Ben smiled that his friend was on the same wavelength and left with a very confused Jay and Carlos as Audrey continued to give the remaining four the stink eye, Mal especially, but covered it up with a fake smile.

"You're Maleficent's daughter right? Yeah I totally don't hate you for your mom trying to kill my parents, my mom's Sleeping-" "Beauty … yeah i heard" Mal said interrupting her with her own fake smile "yeah and it's totally fine that your grandparents invited the whole kingdom except my mom for a Christening" she said as the two laughed the fakest laugh Evie, Megan and Myles ever saw and sighed.

"So … just so we're clear, Ben is my boyfriend and when he gets crowned king, that means as soon as we get married I will be queen" Audrey said then looked at Myles "then I'll personally make sure you get sent to the Isle where you belong, loser" she said before vanishing in a puff of blue smoke. Megan, Mal and Evie turned to Myles who had a depressed glare on his face and looked away. "Her though … I hate" he said before walking off to the grounds. The three looked at each other in sympathy as Megan ran after him.

"Hey … Myles!" She said trying to catch up with him, thankfully Myles took pity and stopped to face her. "Look … don't let her get to you, who cares what that prissy princess thinks?" She said but Myles shook his head "unfortunately Ben does … I don't know why he's with her, she's practically a leach and only is dating him because of a written thing between the two families" he said before going to a tree stump and sat down. "Sadly all she'll need is the smallest reason and I'll be on the Isle" he said as Megan looked shocked.

"But Ben-" "Ben loves her … or think he does, i don't know …" Myles said shaking his head in a defeated sigh. Biting her lip, Megan felt bad about how it seemed the wizard was being treated, so she sat down next to him and tilted her head up to look at him "well … if she does make good on that threat, not like you won't have any friends … i mean … Mal and the others seem to like you, and I … well … I think you're cool" she said causing Myles to look at her in wonder before slowly smiling.

"Well … that is good to know" he said, making Megan smile as well. After a few minutes of silence, Megan thought of something. "Hey where'd you send Audrey?" She asked as Myles chuckled "to her next class …. At the other end of the school' he said with a slight smirk which Megan just snickered at and Myles joined in with a chuckle.

"If I'm gonna be honest, i don't think Ben likes Audrey too much" Megan said but Myles shook his head "I've questioned him about it till my throat was raw and i still don't get why he chose her … then again anyone else here was either not interested or Audrey gave them death glares" he said then laid on his back looking up at the sky "if Ben somehow find a different girlfriend, a better one … I'd dance for joy. At least i wouldn't have to deal with her at the coronation, talk about front row seats to annoyance"

Hearing this, Megan looked interested before looking back at him. "Front row seats?" She asked as Myles huffed slightly like the thought annoyed him. "Yeah, the only seats closest to the ceremony. Fairy Godmother will use her wand to formally bless Ben as High King during the coronation are his parents, me and his girlfriend" he said as a lightbulb went up in Megan's head and got up which Myles noticed.

"Don't give up hope Myles … maybe Ben will get a new girlfriend after all" she said making Myles smirk in amusement. "Oh yeah? Sorry but I don't think so, I think I'd end up with a girlfriend before that happens" he said in disbelief. Megan, unsure what made her say it, said: "who's to say that won't happen either?" she said with a smirk then instantly faltered and blushed before running off. Leaving a slightly flabbergasted Myles sitting on the ground looking confused "what was that about?"

Megan went through the halls mortified! Why would she even say that! Was she flirting?! She had no idea, nor, now that she realized, did she even know where she was. And the bell for the next period rang on top of that.

With a groan of embarrassed frustration, she looked around to try to catch her bearings. "Hey Megan!" said someone that nearly made the girl jump out of her skin, looking around she saw Prince Ben walking to her with a smile "sorry, didn't mean to scare you" he said as Megan just shook her head with a hand over her heart "I-it's ok, i just … i got lost" she said, making Ben nod sympathetically.

"Yeah, this place can be a maze if you don't know the way. I kept telling Fairy Godmother we need a map of the place" he joked but Megan wasn't paying attention, she just looked down both ends of the hall to see they were the only ones around "Megan what is it?" He asked as the girl in question looked at him with determination "I need to talk to you … It's important" she said as Ben looked confused. "And Fairy Godmother, i think" she said which caused Ben's eyebrows to shoot up and nod before leading her to the Headmistress office.

It took awhile but after about ten minutes, they reached the office and knocked "come in" said the cheery voice of Fairy Godmother. Upon entering, the Headmistress looked at the pair in surprise "what seems to be the issue?" She asked as Ben spoke up "Megan said she needed to speak to the both of us about something" he said as Megan bravely stepped forward and told them exactly what happened between Audrey and Myles.

To say both were shocked and appalled was an understatement. "You are making a very bold claim, young lady!" FG said as Megan shook her head "Myles, Evie and Mal will back me up!" She said but the Headmistress looked unconvinced. "We need more concrete proof than just the word of four teenagers" she said before looking down at her desk in contemplation before looking back at her.

"Would you be willing to submit your memory?" She said as Megan looked confused, as did Ben "her memory? How would-" "we would have her memory of said event copied and reviewed … the wizards have an object that can do this, so unfortunately that means I'll have to contact …. him" she said as both Ben and Megan shared a look then looked back at the Headmistress. "Him?" They both asked.

"MERLIN!" Fairy Godmother shouted at the top of her lungs.

She, Ben and Megan were in the ballroom which, besides looking amazing, was the best place for an overly dramatic wizard to make an entrance, and from what Megan's mom told her, he really loved making an entrance.

"MERLIN!" She shouted again making Ben and Megan retract from the volume "she's got a strong pair of lungs on her" Megan commented as Ben nodded and leaned in "Merlin's mostly been over seas, to other dimensions, different times, not sure why but he says it's mostly for kingdom security. Myles says it's because he needs a vacation every year" he said as Megan giggled quietly as Fairy Godmother shouted the wizard's name a third time which did the trick.

Instantly the sky rumbled and the doors and windows slammed open. In the middle of the giant ballroom, a cloud of smoke emerged that looked like a cluster of stars and planets swirled through the air "WHO DARES TO CALL UPON THE WORLD'S MOST POWERFUL SORCERER?!" a booming voice called making Megan shrink but Fairy Godmother wasn't phased "Merlin, it's Blue … we need to talk, it's about Myles"

The smoke continued to swirl around until it slammed down onto the ground with a loud BOOM and the smoke surrounded the floor. Coughing, all three of them waved the smoke out of their way and saw a lone figure from where the cloud landed, when when their sight was clear, they saw a man with a dark blue robe with silver stars and planets on it with a matching pointy hat, a trimmed grey/white beard that was down to his upper chest and wore a pair of glasses.

What was even more surprising was Megan saw him before. She knew him from the Isle.

"Professor Yen Sid?!" She asked startling Ben and looked at the man in question who just chuckled kindly which was nothing like it was before. The teacher of Dragon Hall science class smiled at her before bowing his head.

"That, unfortunately, was a much needed alias" he said with an amused smirk on his face. "Here, you are free to call me Merlin"

Ok so, I originally was going to have Merlin have Yen Sid's look as just a visual thing but then I found out he is actually in the books. So I decided to make Merlin and Yen Sid one and the same. Bit of a callback to the Once Upon a Time plot with Merlin that they BOTCHED UP!

And yes, Yen Sid is the character's actual name it seems.

Also, side note, I know I made Audrey more … mean in this but remind me; from movie 1-3 how are we supposed to sympathize with her or like her? Idk
