Everyone, welcome to our first mini-series on this channel. Now we all love a good game of Among Us, which currently is trending as of now. I've been playing for a while now and it is really fun. Though, the most played map is the skeld so I will also be doing that.
I've named all my characters after synonyms of their color, and yes this will be full of original characters… and the story will be… hard to… come up with… Oh well. I guess coming up with a new story is gonna kill me-I mean, is gonna kill me-I mean, why can't I say the word isn't?
But you get the idea, a story like Among Us is really mostly a game without much story and is just 'Where?' 'Self-Report' 'Sus' 'Not The Imposter' and all that. Yeah, it's basically mostly playing the blame game and such. But it's pretty fun nonetheless and I'm lucky enough if I were to become the imposter.
Also, I know there's only 10 crewmates at max, but I'm gonna add two more just cause I can. Enough of me talking, let's get into the story.
"The reactor has been sabotaged!"
"Shit!"
"Quick go to the other scan!"
…
"Scan your hand, Azure!… Azure…?"
Prologue: Among The Crew
Innersloth CORPS:
12 Crewmates Ready For Boarding
"-It wasn't all that impressive." A man with blue hair and dark skin was talking to another man with red hair and light skin. "However, it can be pretty fun with the gravity off and all." The man explained while they sat in the waiting room.
"Huh. So, are you annoyed that you got taken off leave?" His friend asks.
"I mean, kinda. I do like my job and all, but it's supposed to be my cousin's birthday this Wednesday. I don't want to go back up into space and completely miss it. I'll look like an asshole doing that." The blue haired man explained.
"Yeah, sounds kinda annoying. Though, maybe we could find something to do up there. Right, Azure?" The red haired man asked him before an employee came into the room.
"Red, Blue, the rest of the crewmates are ready for introduction." She tells them.
"Alright, come on, Russet. Let's go introduce ourselves." Azure says as he gets up from his seat.
"Right." Russet states while also getting up.
While walking through the halls, Azure asked… "Hey, so what's this mission about anyway?"
"Unfortunately, I can't provide any details on your objectives." The employee states which made him look disappointed. "Once our boss has arrived and found that you've all acquainted with each other, he'll explain." They then came to a stop at a door. "In the meantime, there's not much else I can say." She then says as she opens the door, allowing the men to walk in.
When they did, they found nine other people with different colored hair talking amongst each other. A woman with short pink hair and dark skin was on a computer next to a twin tailed yellow haired girl with tan skin who wore glasses and another computer as they seemed to be playing a game. A gray haired boy with glasses and tan skin was talking with a cyan haired light skinned man.
A brown haired man with a cowboy hat was trying to have a conversation with the green haired man, but he seemed to be avoiding any form of talk, to which the girl with long lime hair came to cheer him up. Then there were two people who had caught their eyes. A ponytailed, black haired, dark skinned woman was talking with a white haired, light skinned male who they knew before.
"Wait, is that?" Azure says before the two of them walked over.
"Hey!" Russet says while catching their attention. "Sorry, don't mean to interrupt but… well…" He then says while the two stopped in front of them.
"Yes, is something wrong?" The woman asked them.
"N-no, we just wanted to ask-" The red haired man was about to say before.
"Are your guys' names Jade and Frost?" Azure beat him to it.
The two seemed surprised when asked and the white-haired man decided to speak up. "Uh, how exactly do you know who we are?"
"C'mon you don't know us? You don't remember the kids you met when younger who had these hair colors?"
"What?" The black-haired woman then asked before thinking. "Wait… Azure?" She then says which made the white-haired man look surprised.
"Yeah, that's me!" The blue-haired man says with a smile.
"Wait, if you're Azure then, you must be-" Frost was about to ask.
"Russet? Yeah, ya got it." The red-haired man then spoke up.
"Oh my gosh, we haven't seen you guys in years." Jade then says as she gets up from her seat.
"Wow, I didn't recognize you two at first. Things really change in what? Seven years?" Frost asks with a smile on his face.
"Well, actually it's been nine years, Frost."
"Either way, you guys look so different than you did back then."
"Yeah, well you're not the tiny shrimp you were back then." Azure then laughed as the white-haired man laughed back.
"Y-yeah, very funny."
"Eh c'mon, you were pretty shrimpy back then." Russet then chuckles.
"Alright, alright-so anyways, how have things been?" Frost wanted to change the subjects.
"Well, been pretty good lately. I mean, I had an asshole for a boss on my first job. But, what can ya do?" Azure then says while laughing a bit.
"Ouch, must've been pretty sucky." Jade says.
"Eh, it's all good. Got his ass fired after exposing him on Facebook." He then says as the four of them laughed from his joke.
"Honestly, it's pretty cool to see you guys like this. I thought you were keeping your hair short Jade." Russet then mentioned.
"Maybe, but… yeah times have changed." Jade tells them.
"Eh, you look the best no matter what. I mean, you could be bald and I'd still love ya." Frost then jokes.
Azure chuckled a bit before Russet elbowed him. Frost's smile dropped when he saw his girlfriend's smile turn into a frown.
"Excuse me?" She asks as he looked confused. "So, you're saying you think I should go bald? That I'd look better if I did?" She then asks out of annoyance.
"Wh-what?! N-no! I never said-I-I mean… I-I never-You look amazing and-I-I was just saying th-that-" He started stuttering before she started laughing.
"Jeez, you're so gullible." She says between her laughter as Russet and Azure join her.
"BAAAABE!" Frost says out of embarrassment.
"Man, I needed that." Russet says while wiping a tear from his eye. "Uh… w-wait…" He then took notice of something. "D-did you just call her 'babe'?" He then asked.
"Oh, right. Forgot to tell ya guys but, ever since we got separated from you two, we kinda hit it off." The white-haired man tells them. "The last few years we've been together was amazing."
"Yeah, it was especially fun." Jade says as well.
"Wow, congrats man. Good for you." Russet says with a thumbs up. "To think, after so long this is how we meet."
"Pretty crazy, huh?" Frost asked.
"Coincidence much?" Azura jokingly asked.
Meanwhile as the four of them were talking with each other, the gray-haired boy saw and said- "Huh, looks like the others are getting along with each other."
To this, the cyan-haired man looked over in the direction and seemed interested himself. "It would appear as though they were already acquainted with each other before-hand. They seem awfully close." He spoke in a german accent.
"Well, they do seem to be getting along pretty well."
"Come on, let's go introduce ourselves." The lime-haired girl says while patting the shoulder of the gray-haired boy as she got up. "We do need to get to know our crewmates, right? Let's get started." She says with a smile before walking over to them.
"Yeah, come on guys!" The brown haired man says while happily following along.
"Wait-uh…" The boy says before sighing.
"Come on, Silver. We should go speak to them anyway." The cyan-haired man told him.
"T-Teal, you know I'm not the best at talking. I don't exactly wanna embarrass myself before-"
"I know, I know. But you've been doing good so far. I'm sure you'll get over it soon enough." The man says as he gets up before putting a hand on his shoulder. "You sure you don't wanna talk with them?" He then asked.
"... Uh… actually… I guess I could try."
"Okay, let's go then." The man then held a hand out to help him up.
The four who were conversing amongst each other, started to notice the others coming towards them. "Oh, hey, what's up?" Russet asked, wanting to strike up a conversation.
"Hi there, it's nice to meet you. My name Olivia and this here is my friend Carob." The lime-haired girl introduced herself with her friend.
"Heyo!" The brown-haired man then said with his hand raised.
"So, we're gonna be going up into space with you guys, huh?" Olivia then asks.
"Yeah, I've had some experience up in space but, never been up there with a whole group… or at least with this many people." Azure spoke up while rubbing his head. "But eh, it might be fun to do it with more friends."
"You've already had experience up in space, huh? Maybe ya can teach us a thing or two about astronauting."
"It's really not that hard actually."
"Says you." Frost then says jokingly.
"I for one am excited to go up into space. I've wanted to ever since I was little and they said I wasn't going to by shoving crayons up my nose." Carob then said as the rest looked a bit dumbfounded that he would say that. "... I… I really should've kept my mouth shut." He then said embarrassed.
"Hey, it's not really a big deal." Olivia stated.
"Yeah, I mean we all do some weird stuff as kids, right?" Jade then says.
"You get the idea anyway. If I go on the news, I'm gonna flex on all the jerks who said I wasn't gonna achieve my dream so hard." Carob then started saying while making a flex pose. "Then I'll show them."
They laughed a bit from the pose he made. "Well, congrats man. Good for you." Frost then says as he pat the man's shoulder.
"It is an honor to be an astronaut for the Innersloth corporation. For all of us I'm sure." Teal then says as he arrives with Silver.
"No kidding, that's for sure. It's nice to be meeting a lot of newcomers here." Azure spoke up.
"It is nice to meet another with past experience like you. I have been sent up to take care of some problems once before, though from what I hear, we won't be going outside, held by a string."
"Yeah that sounds pretty dangerous. Nonetheless, we're probably only gonna be doing a few tasks up there. Don't go bragging about having more experience." The blue-haired man then explained with a smirk.
"Well, if that's so, then I expect you not to do the same. I might just outclass you when you least expect it." Teal said with his own smirk.
"Ya got it."
"Who are you anyways?" Russet then asked.
"My name is Teal, though I've been told my alias would Cyan for this trip."
"... Neato. Russet, but the guys here call me Red."
"My name is Azure, the Blue dude." Azure then introduced himself.
"Well, it's pretty obvious what our aliases are. I'm Jade and this is Frost." The black-haired woman states.
"Nice to meet you all." The white-haired man then stated.
"A pleasure to see you as well." Teal says with a smile before looking towards Silver. "Well, go ahead." He says while patting him on the back.
The boy hesitated at first, but then adjusted his glasses before speaking. "H-hello everyone. It's good to see you all… m-my name is Silver."
"Oh, not much of a talker I see. Good to meet you as well." Azure then says as he holds his hand out.
"Y-yeah." The gray-haired boy says while shaking his hand. "I-I'm not exactly… well…" He says before taking his hand back.
"Not a people person, we get it."
"Yes, I am trying to get him used to speaking with others. Since we are going up into space as a group, he'll need to be getting used to the others." Teal explained.
"Oh, I see. Ya gotta admit, you're pretty lucky to be going up into space like this." Russet while nudging him a bit.
"Um… t-thanks." Silver says while still looking a bit nervous.
"You said it. So, where are we headed exactly?" Carob then asked.
"Um, I don't know. Did they ever explain?" Jade asked.
"Nope, the girl that brought us here just said, and I quote: 'Once our boss has arrived and found that you've all acquainted with each other, he'll explain.' and nothing else." Azure explained.
"I can confirm that." Russet says, agreeing with him.
"Seriously? Why wouldn't they tell us?" Frost asked.
"Who knows? Perhaps our objectives are still being decided since there are many of us on duty." Teal stated.
"Yes! Yes! I did it!" They heard as they turned to the two who were on their computers.
"You got lucky." The pink-haired woman said to her yellow-haired friend. "Good luck on the next round." She then said while patting her back.
"Huh, looks like they're having fun." Azure says with a smile.
"Um… hey!" Carob called over, gaining the two's attention. "What are ya playing?" He then asks.
"Fall Guys." The pink-haired girl told him.
"Wait, really?!" He then says before running over. "Oh, man I always wanted to play this game." He says while deciding to watch.
"Woah, woah, back up man." The pink says while leaning back a bit.
"Oh, sorry. But this game is so cool." He states while backing up.
"It is a really popular game. Actually the number one trending on Twitch." Russet says as the rest came over.
"Really? I heard it was fun, but didn't know it was that popular." Azure stated.
"Nah, it's true. This is one of the most popular games out there." Carob exclaims.
"It does look fun." Olivia says before the yellow-haired girl got past another round.
"Yes!" She says happily.
"Anyways, I'm sure you guys wanna know who we are." The pink-haired woman then says. "My name is Rose, and this is-"
"Canary." Her yellow-haired friend says before adjusting her glasses, focus still on her game.
"What she said."
Then the rest introduced themselves with their own gestures.
"Cool, I'm Azure."
"Russet."
"I-I'm Silver."
"You may call me Teal."
"I'm Jade."
"Frost."
"Olivia."
"And Carob."
"Hmm, nice names." Rose says with a smile.
"So, what are your thoughts on going into space?" Jade asked out of curiosity.
"Well, never done it before and to be honest, a little bit siked. Canary is not gonna like what's gonna happen though." She says.
"Umm, w-why not?" Silver asked.
"There's no internet up in space." She then says as her friend stopped what she's doing.
"Excuse me, there is internet in space. The station we're probably going to and the spaceship should have some form of Wifi set up and we're closer to satellites, so we'll get a good reception." Canary says with a glare.
"Someone's gonna be disappointed." Rose says through her teeth, while looking away with a smirk.
"Uh, so what other games do you play?" Jade then asked.
"Plenty of games actually. Half Life, Portal, Bendy and the Ink Machine…" She replied which made Frost's eyes widen a bit. "Ya ever play that one?" She asked after seeing his expression.
"I mean, I've tried it but, kinda too spooky for my taste."
"What? You not into horror games?" Azure asked.
"Just wasn't really into them."
"Hey, I've played Five Nights at Freddy's. Not really into first person, free roam horror games, though." Carob then chimed in.
"Those are the scariest." Canary tells them as the brown haired man nodded.
"No kidding. You can try to go through a game like those, but the suspense is never something you can handle-"
"BAH!"
Carob screamed in a high-pitched voice as he jumped back with the others. Then they heard laughing from a girl with long purple hair, light skin and a hockey as she held her stomach. She looked up before laughing again as she slapped her knee.
"What the hell?" The brown haired man said in annoyance.
"Oh, I always wanted to do that." She laughed before moving her mask to the side of her face. "I was hoping that I could get the chance to, and I took it." She then says while still laughing a bit.
"That was not funny." Carob says in annoyance again.
"I mean, it was pretty funny." Olivia chuckled.
"Y-yeah, but that's still kinda mean." Rose said to her.
"It is pretty mean." Frost agreed.
"Ah, sorry." She says before taking her mask off her head. "Anyways, the name's Violet. Got a nice little group over here."
"Yep. First time going up into space?" Azure asked.
"You betcha. Pretty exciting right?"
"You can say that."
Violet was about to respond, but noticed that someone was missing. "Alright, where is he." She said before spotting who she was looking for. "There he is." She says before seeing a guy with orange hair, tan skin and wearing goggles entered.
"Hey, sorry I'm late." The man says.
"Come on, it wasn't that hard to get here." Violet says.
"Vi, I just forgot my tools, had to drive back around. I'm an engineer, I need my tools." He says while walking up to the group with his toolbox.
"You know they'll provide us with tools to do maintenance, right?"
"I get that, but my personal tools are usually the best." He says before looking around. "D-does everyone already know each other?"
"I mean, they already know who I am." Violet says.
"Okay, well, you know Vi here. My name is Amber, and I work as an engineer for a living as you can guess." He told the group.
"And it's both of our first times up in space." The purple haired lady stated.
"Cool. I'm Azure, this is Russet, Frost, Jade, uh…" Azure was introducing the crew.
"Silver." The gray haired boy says.
"Silver, Teal, umm…"
"Olivia, Carob, and Rose and Canary." Olivia finished his sentence.
"Thank you."
"Okay, so we're all introduced?" Rose asked.
"All except one." Carob pointed out.
Then he pointed towards the green haired man who was still keeping his distance. Russet wondered why he was talking with the group, especially since everyone was supposed to get to know each other.
"What's with him?" Violet ask, not liking the edgy look he was giving the group.
"That would be Sage. From what I heard he has a wife and two kids. Though he's not much of a talker for who knows what reason." Olivia tells the group.
"Doesn't talk to anyone, is a loner, sounds like a typical anime rival." Azure mentioned.
"I was just about to say. He totally fits the part." Violet stated.
"I don't know, maybe it's just that he doesn't talk unless someone talks first. I'm gonna try speaking with him." Frost says before going over to the green haired man.
"Good luck, hon." Jade said to him.
"He's gonna shoot him down." Carob comments.
Sage was on his computer working on who knows what as Frost approached him. "Hey there, how's it going?" He says, grabbing his attention. "My name's Frost, nice to meet ya."
He held his hand out, however the man just stared at him for a second. "... Sage." He said before going back to his computer typing away.
"... Umm, so going up into space for the first time, or have you been up into space before?" The white haired man tried to make small talk.
"Been in space before."
"Okay, cool. So how does it feel?"
"Pretty neat."
Sage answered all the questions without even looking away from his computer. That made Frost feel a bit awkward and step away from him.
"Wow, he really isn't much of a talker." He then says to the group.
"Told ya." Olivia stated.
"So, we're going up into space with an edge-lord then? Well, first time for everything." Azure states.
"I've heard of the phrase edge-lord, but I don't think I've met anyone who acts like this before." Teal says. "I also don't see a reason for him to be acting this way."
"Eh, forget about him. If he's gonna spend the entire trip brooding, we can enjoy it without him." Carob says, trying to keep everyone cheered up.
"Yeah, if he wants to be a debbie-downer, let him sit in the corner like a party-pooper." Violent then says with a smile on her face.
"I can hear you, you know." Sage says as he caught the group's attention. "Look, I'm sorry for giving off a bad impression, but I'm not exactly what you would call a people-person. Safe to say, talking's not my thing." He explained.
"... Well, I mean, I get not being much of a talker, but can you at least look at us when talking?" Rose asked.
"Yeah, well I don't exactly like being labeled a loner."
"... O-okay, that's on me for assuming. You really do look like one of those edgy rivals though." Azure says.
"Heh, that's a new. Usually my wife says I should communicate with people more." The green haired man said while cracking a bit of a smile.
While they were talking, they heard a door open, drawing their attention to the source. They saw a man that was taller than all of them enter the room while wearing a business suit as he adjusted his tie and took out a clipboard. Seeing him, everyone stopped what they were doing and stood up as he approached him.
Azure cleared his throat before talking. "Good to see you, sir. Might I say you're looking awfully well today."
"Thank you, Azure. It's good to see you as well." The man says before looking at his clipboard pointing his pencil at each of the group as if counting them. "Everyone is here." He says before moving his pencil to the clipboard checking things off. "Before I begin, I'd like to apologize to everyone here who has been taken off leave." He then says apologetically.
"Oh, no it's okay, sir." Sage says with his hands up.
"I don't mind personally." Teal also says.
"You don't need to apologize for anything. I love my job." Azure spoke up.
"Just wanted to say. Anywho, I'm sure you're all wondering the reason I'm sending you up into space." The boss man says, ready to explain. "You see, we got an S.O.S. signal coming from one of our ships that has yet to return. The transmission we got from the crew previously sent up is… well, it's unfortunately unable to come through to our systems." He begins.
"Wait, what do you mean? Like, is it all just garble or something?" Amber asked.
"That would be an understatement." The man then pulled out a recorder and played the transmission.
"*-%#*%-#-Ple-*#-%%**#-Send hel*%##*"
Then the video cut off and the crew seemed surprised. "You see, the previous crew took off in the Skeld in order to search for life. It included a few of our scientists in order to do such. Unfortunately, we haven't heard a word from them in weeks until a few days ago."
"So, we're supposed to be some kind rescue party then? Awesome!" Carob says happily.
"It wouldn't be too far-fetched to believe so. From what we could find, we found that the oxygen supply we gave them was limited. Your object is obvious. You're to be sent up to the Skeld, help the previous crew on board, and bring it back to base."
"Well, that we can do. Ever piloted a spaceship before Russet?" Azure then asked his friend.
"Huh? I mean, I was put into pilot simulation for training purposes, but I've never flown an actual ship before." Russet was honest.
"Eh, I'm sure you'll do fine." The blue haired man tells him.
"Hold on, if the first crew sent up there couldn't get the ship in, doesn't that mean that something else is wrong with the ship besides oxygen?" Jade asked.
"Indeed there is." The boss man says before putting his clipboard away. "Before your departure, you will all be supplied with tools and tablets in order for tasks you'll need to do maintenance on in the ship. All of you will be assigned tasks, however, it's possible you won't all get the same task. Some may have the same tasks assigned, but some will be for a certain few of you."
"I see. So like, since Amber is an engineer he'll be working on the motors and all that?" Violet asked.
"The Skeld doesn't run on an engine, it runs on a reactor. But yes, we'll need him to work on it. You all have been selected for a certain purpose. Perform any kind of maintenance on the Skeld, and bring it in."
"Alright, sounds easy enough." Frost says.
"Sounds easy, yes. Is easy, not completely likely." The man tells them before turning. "Now, come this way. Your tools and suits are ready for you." He says as he heads over to one of the doors, waiting for them.
"Ooh-hoo, I can't wait to be in an actual astronaut suit." Carob says with excitement.
Then the crew went and followed him down the hall, all with different thoughts going through their heads. Some excited, some a little nervous, and those who already had experience knew what was to come. The boss then stopped in front of a door that said 'Changing Rooms' above it.
"The changing rooms already have your suits ready. Please take your time, though the suits shouldn't be too difficult to put on." He says while gesturing to said door. "After that, come to the next room where your tools are waiting." He explained before going into the next door.
"Alright. Shall we?" Azure says while heading to the door.
"Hey, aren't we going up into space?" Violet says as the rest follow.
They all entered, seeing that it was a hallway with multiple rooms that had curtains instead of doors. "So much for privacy." Russet commented as they all went behind curtains that had their names above them.
"Huh, the changing rooms here don't seem too different from regular ones." Carob says before his suit caught his eyes.
"I mean, what exactly do you expect from changing rooms?" Olivia pointed out.
"Hey, uh, honey…" Jade says while sticking her head out from her curtains.
"Yeah, babe?" Frost also says while peeking out of his.
"I just think my suit might be hard to put on. Would you mind helping me? ~" She then says in a flirty tone with a blush on her face.
That made the white-haired man blush himself before he walked out of his room. "Sure thing, I can help. ~" He says in a just as flirty tone as he made his way over to her.
"Hey, hey, hey!" Azure says as he stuck his arm out of his room, stopping Frost. "Save the rated M stuff for when we're back on Earth. We're only gonna be in space for a week, people." He then says as he brings his arm back in. "We're not going up there to make babies."
As he was talking, Jade just decided to give her boyfriend a wink. He returned it before going back to his room.
"Oh come on, don't be such a party pooper." Violet then says as Azure was getting his suit on.
"Look, I'm just trying to keep things PG here. Making sure people don't go too far." He explains.
"Well, I could help change your mind." The purple haired girl says while sticking her head into his room.
"WHAT THE F!- Get out!" He yelled as he blushed, tried to cover himself and shoved her out.
"You have a nice butt!" She laughed as he groaned in embarrassment.
In Russet's room, he looked at his suit and was in a way impressed. Rather than being white, it was painted completely red. And the name tag on it said just that, 'Red'. He found it a little strange, but personally, he thought that it was nice of them to give him something to go with his color.
'Not bad.' He says as he examines it a bit. It even had its own backpack with oxygen tanks in it. 'Welp, time to get suited up.' He then says as he starts to remove his clothes.
After a bit, everyone was in their suits and ready to go. As they exited, they got to see each other, and they all had suits tailored to the color of their hair.
"This is cool! Look, it's literally my favorite color right here." Carob says.
"Yeah, they really put some thought into these to make these like this." Olivia says while dusting off her suit a bit.
"You guys got lucky. I got stuck with the generic looking suit." Frost says while gesturing to his suit.
"I think you look good in white though." Jade then says.
"Heh, you say that as if I look better than you. ~" The white haired man replied back.
"Oh, stop it you."
Seeing the two interact with each other made Sage crack a bit of a smile. Something about the two reminded him of back in his early days.
"W-what do you think, Teal? Generic?" Silver asked his friend.
"You look fine, do not worry." Teal says while patting his back a bit.
"For me, I thought these suits would feel uncomfortable, but they feel pretty good." Rose states.
"Agreed, these feel a lot less tight than they look." Canary says to her.
"I still think my tools will be enough for the job." Amber says while adjusting his goggles.
"Even still, it'd be a waste not to use what they give us." Azure tells him, before the red haired man walked out of his room. "*Whistle* Looking good there Rus."
"Thanks." Russet says with a smile.
Everyone leaves and heads for the room their boss told them to go to. When they entered, they found several carts in the room that had tablets on each of them along with toolboxes that looked bigger than Amber's. Of which made said boy's eyes widen as he dropped his own box.
"These are the tools you will be using to perform maintenance on the ship. Don't forget to especially keep the tablets nearby." The boss man says as everyone went over to the carts as Amber went to pick up what he dropped.
"This doesn't look like much." Carob says before opening the tool box. "Wa-ho-ho, now this is what I'm talking about." He says as he sees the tools inside.
"What the heck is this supposed to be?" Canary says while holding up one of the devices.
"That's called a Calibrate Distributor. It's used to calibrate things in the electrical rooms of a ship. Just connect it to the box with the high voltage sign, press the buttons at the right time, and it does the job." Azure explained to her.
"A-and what would this be?" Silver asked as he pulled out a thing with multiple buttons.
"Well that, uh… um… I actually don't know. It kinda looks like a control panel of some sorts." Teal explained.
"It is. It's supposed to be used to start the reactor if it's not working." The boss explained. "Actually, that's supposed to be Amber's task."
When the boy heard his name he came over and Silver handed him the panel almost dropping it. "I just have one question." He says before taking it to the cart with his name and placing it down. "C-can I use my tools for this job?" He asked nervously.
"There's no problem with bringing personal tools on your trip, but the company provided tools will be of more use."
When hearing that, the boy's expression changed to disappointed. Violet came up and patted him on the back, trying to make him feel better. As for the rest, they were impressed by what they were given, packed them up and were now ready for their trip.
"Now that everyone is ready, please put on your helmets and enter the dropship." The boss says before walking over to a door. "The coordinates for the Skeld are already put in. All I can do is wish you the best of luck." He says as he unlocked the door and it automatically opened.
"Alright, we're finally going up into space!" Carob says as he took off his hat, put his helmet on, then put his hat back on as he went through the door.
"Welp, time for us to go." Azure says with a shrug.
"Let's go then, shall we?" Violet then says as she hooked her arm with his before he pulled back.
Then they all went to enter the ship in a line with one each entering while putting on their helmets. Those with headwear taking them off and putting them on their helmets as they entered. But before Russet could enter, the boss held his hand out, stopping him.
"Hey, look, I get that it's your first time going up into space, but I just want all of you to keep yourselves and each other safe up there." He explains. "I know it seems odd I'm telling you this but…" He says before putting a hand on the red-head's shoulder. "If you ever need help you can always go to Azure, he's been with us for years now, and god knows what'll happen if we lose him."
When hearing what he said, Russet was about to say something, before he got cut off. "We've already lost one crew… we… I can't bear to lose another." He was then told.
Russet stood for a second and looked down while thinking. "I-I won't let you down." He says before putting his helmet on and heading inside with the rest of his crew.
Meanwhile the boss smiled a bit, but was truly worried about what would happen to them all and only hoped for the best. He locked the door as it closed and now the ship was ready to take off, it just needed a pilot.
"Okay, so… who's piloting this thing?" Carob said as his voice came through, sounding like a radio a bit due to the helmet.
"I mean, it's gotta be someone here right? Who can fly this thing?" Violet asked.
"I can do it. I've piloted one of these things before and…" Sage was saying before he started to notice some of the crew chuckling a bit. "What?" he says before noticing a note on the front of his helmet. He took it off and it was a sticky note that said 'DUM' on it. "Oh, real mature. Who did this?" He asked out of annoyance as a few of them started laughing a bit. "I'm not joking! Who did this?!"
Russet and Azure looked at each other before they started laughing as well. After the little fun moment, Sage went into the pilot room and closed the door as all the mates went and sat down in their seats, buckling themselves in.
"So, you excited to go into space for the first time?" The blue haired man asked his friend.
"... Yeah, I kinda am. I mean, I don't know who wouldn't be." Russet says with a smile.
Azure smiled before he felt a tap on his shoulder and he turned to see Violet who winked at him, which he could still see through the tinted visors of the helmet and blushed a bit while looking a bit annoyed as the red haired man chuckled.
Carob was as excited as ever. Olivia was happy to see him happy as well. Silver was still a bit nervous, but Teal was there to pat him on the back. Frost and Jade sat next to each other while holding hands and Rose and Canary sat down and smiled at each other. And with that, the ship began to take off on its way up into the sky.
Before it was out of sight, the boss was watching from outside. As he stared at the ship going into the clouds, he had an unreadable look on his face and once it was out of sight he sighed. Part of him still felt bad and worried about sending them up into space, but he knew that it was too late now, and decided to head back inside. But not before saying one last thing.
"Good luck."
