As much as tough girl Hetty didn't want to admit, she had a problem.

She was partially afraid to go to sleep.

How had the last few weeks been since she was rescued from Vietnam? Well, Callen stayed with her for a week, he wanted to stay longer but she insisted that he leave.

She had been seeing Nate, the team's shrink about her issues with nightmares, And so far, had gotten them under control.

So what was the problem?

The nightmares were starting to get worse. The past 3 nights, they were shifting from those 3 months in captivity, to the 5 days she couldn't remember in Vietnam a long time ago after a helicopter crash.

She couldn't tell if it was her suddenly remembering what had happened or not. But she knew that whatever had happened in those 5 days, she failed to save the man she later on risked her life to save years later.

The guilt and frustration at the failure to remember what had happened made her not want to sleep. But close to midnight, she knew she was going to have to think of some way to go to sleep.

She texted Callen: 'Sorry to wake you, Just having trouble sleeping.'

'Want me to come over?' He texted back.

'No. I just want some advice on how to get to sleep.'

'Yup, I'm coming over!'

'I'd rather you didn't. She thought.

Later

Hetty explained to Callen how bad the nightmares were getting.

'I don't know if I'm somehow remembering what had happened during those 5 days or not. All I know is that I could've saved Keane, but I didn't. And as a result, he was left behind!'

'Whoa whoa! Calm down. Maybe there's a good reason why you can't remember.' Callen said.

'Yeah yeah. It's most likely the 'events were too painful to remember' theory. But, I can't help but think that there was a way to save him, and that I knew how, but didn't do it.' Hetty responded.

'Even if there was, You most likely would've been captured, and likely killed! Either way, You made a choice that day, Hetty, to save your life. And because of that choice, we're both here right now, because of that choice!'

Looking at him in astonishment, 'How, are you this smart?'

'I learned from the best.' he replied.

Smiling, 'You really did.' She responded.

Silence.

'I suppose you're going to stay with me tonight even if I say no?' Hetty asked.

'Yes. Because you don't have to suffer alone here.' he replied.

Smiling, 'And that's what I love about you!'

'Love you too, Hetty.'

They hugged.

She slept peacefully that night.
