Back in Wumpa Island, it was already morning, and the sun was starting to heat up the sand of the beach where the siblings, the taller bandicoot, the witch doctor mask and their pets lived. Crash, Coco and Aku Aku were sitting in front of the house, with Coco's laptop, as they were doing some research about what happened to Tawna the previous night.

Coco: "I don't know Aku Aku… I've never heard of such gems that grant special abilites. Are you sure about this?" As she tapped her laptop's keyboard.

Aku Aku: "It may not be a well known legend, Coco, but if this gem was activated and struck Tawna, then the others may have been activated too."

Coco: "Okay… And what about this demon… 'Tiny-mum'?"

Aku Aku: "It's Ten'Minum, and he was…" As he adopted a worried expression. "...Is, a very dangerous entity. I still remember the last time I saw him, when Uka Uka was still good… We fought like we've never before, but our efforts were in vain. That's until this brave hero appeared."

Coco: "The one with the powered gems?"

Aku Aku: "Exactly, my child. Tawna accidentaly activated one of them last night, breaking the spell, and he may be on the loose again. That's why we need to find the rest of the gems."

Crash: *unintelligible gibberish* As he pointed Tawna.

Everyone then looked at the blonde bandicoot, who was a few meters away from the group sitting in a log, looking at the sea with a nervous expression in her face. The witch doctor nodded at Crash and floated towards her.

Aku Aku: "What are you thinking about, Tawna?"

Tawna: "Well… About this, of course."

She took out the pink gem out of her jacket's pocket and held it outside. With her free hand, she ignited a little pink flame, and made an effort to make it bigger, but soon extinguished like a matchstick.

Aku Aku: "It looks like you are beginning to control it." He said hopeful.

Tawna: "Heh, yeah..." She smiled, but soon her happiness faded away. "...Still, I don't know if I will be able to control it enough, Aku."

Aku Aku: "Don't let down, my child. Every bit of help counts."

The blonde girl got up of the log.

Tawna: "...It's that… I don't think I can do this. I'm no hero like you guys…" As she started walking slowly away from the log. "I mean, if at least I was like that other me from another dimension, I may stand a chance. I know I can pack a punch or two but…" She turned to face Aku Aku. "...I'm no superhero, and I can't do this alone."

Aku Aku: "You're not alone, Tawna. We are your family, and remember we will always be supporting you, no matter what." He reassured the blonde bandicoot.

Tawna: "Thanks guys… I also wish the girls were here, too." She sighed.

Aku Aku: "It may be time to call them. Remember, every bit of help counts."

The floating mask decided to leave Tawna alone and went back to the research with the siblings, while she got back to sit on the log, got the gem back inside her pocket and took out her smartphone.

As she entered 'Contacts', Ami's number appeared first in the list, but a sea of doubts got into the blonde bandicoot's mind right before dialing. She then backed out to the menu.

"Why is so hard to do this crap." She thought upset.

But then, a notification popped up on the screen, and caught Tawna's attention. She got surprised as soon as she finished reading it.

'WUMPA NEWS: World Open Wheel Championship's Brazilian Grand Prix concern, after the Donner Motorsport's young bandicoot driver is involved in a serious crash."

Tawna: "What?!" She gasped.

She then got into the note to read it.

'Preoccupation among the WOWC fans after Donner team's newest member Ami Bandicoot suffers an high speed crash during yesterday's qualification session. Right after her last lap, the driver lost control of her car and hit the outside barriers at more than 200Km/H. The incident remains under investigation and Ami, while hospitalized, is out of danger. The team is still looking for a replacement for today's race.'

Tawna: "Oh my god…" She said with concern.

And then, the youngest bandicoot calls out for her with some impatience in her voice.

Coco: "Tawna! Come here, quickly!" As she signaled to go with them.

The tall blonde bandicoot got up once again of the log and walked quickly towards the siblings and the floating mask. She was shocked to see in the laptop's screen what Coco had called her for.

There was a news note that readed as follows:

'BREAKING NEWS

Hollywood's rising star Isabella Bandicoot hospitalized after she suffered an accident in her birthday party when she was electrocuted in a confusing episode.'

Then a photo of Isabella was shown under this extract.

Tawna felt shivers down her spine, two of her former team ex team-mates were injured at the same time, like if it was planned, and inmediately got worried about Liz and Megumi, as they may be hurt too. But Coco took her out of her thoughts before these got worse.

Coco: "Also… Liz just texted me." As she pointed at her smartphone.

Tawna: "Wait, what?" She asked the little bandicoot, surprised.

Coco: "She said that 'Izzy is okay, and believe it or not, she got electrocuted after she fell to the pool in the garden'."

Aku Aku: "But, how could she get shocked by falling into a pool with just water?"

Right when Aku Aku asked that, Coco received another message, this one containing a picture, and got surprised by what she saw.

Tawna: "What is it, Coco?"

Coco: "Guys, you will not believe this…" She said, and then showed her phone's screen to everyone.

In the picture, a purple gem identical to Tawna's was shown, along with another message that said: 'I've found this before something really strange happened to me, and then another one, but lying underwater in the same pool Isabella fell in right before the accident.'

Tawna: "Holy cheese." She said surprised.

Then, she remembered something in Ami's accident note, she took out her phone and gave another look at the destroyed car's picture. She noted the halo of the car was broken, rare to happen as it's one of the sturdiest parts of the car, and lying behind the punctured frontal tyre, a lime green pyramidal rock could be seen.

Crash, Coco and Aku Aku got closer and saw the gem in the picture too.

Crash: "Woah…" He said slowly.

Tawna: "There's no way this is happening." She said nervously.

Aku Aku: "There is no doubt. These are the legendary gems, children."

Coco: "Now, how much do you bet, Tawna?" As she glanced at the tall bandicoot.

Tawna understood what the little bandicoot meant, and wasting no time, she got back into 'Contacts', searched through the list for Megumi's number and called her. After a few seconds, a soft feminine voice answered the call.

Megumi (phone): "Hello, who is this?"

Tawna felt a little insecure, but managed to gather enough courage.

Tawna: "Hi, Meg…"

Megumi (phone): "...Tawna?"

Two days later...

Under the island, the old mining tunnels where Crash fought Koala Kong years ago still remained intact and well preserved, by request of the city hall as a monument to said hero. The place was adapted for tourism, with various safety measures and modifications to the tunnels to ensure every visitor would have a pleasant experience. That day it was closed due to a manteinance routine which took every tuesday, and two workers of the place were having a break, sitting in a bench by the tunnel's entrance.

Tunnel worker 1: "Hey, did you hear about what happened to Ami Bandicoot?"

Tunnel worker 2: "Yeah, man. What a shame, I was gonna bet some on her for the last weekend's race. Besides, the replacement driver is not as good as her..." As he sipped some coffee.

While the workers were talking, a strange black 'cloud' crept behind them in direction to the tunnel. As it got close enough, it's shadow caught the attention of the men.

Tunnel worker 1: "What the…?!"

Before they could react, the cloud went through them and made them cough uncontrollably until they fainted, while they were getting covered by a dark purple slime caused by the contact. A few seconds later, two dark purple creatures, looking like face-less demons with big horns and claws, surged from where the workers were.

The cloud began to 'talk' to the demons, shining in a purple light in synchrony.

Cloud: "Go recruit more for my army. Do not stop until every single form of life in this island is under my influence." It said in a low-pitched demonic voice.

Without further ado, the demons turned around and began to walk towards the city. The cloud continued it's way inside the tunnel, and once it crossed the entrance, it shot a lighting towards the roof and some falling rocks blocked the entrance, sealing the tunnel.

Meanwhile, Tawna was at the same place where she found the gem. Aku Aku was floating next to her, and Crash and Coco were with Polar, Pura and Baby T sitting on top of the totem, watching the scene.

Aku Aku: "Okay Tawna, there's a threat in front of you and you must neutralize it before it hurts innocent people."

Tawna: "Leave it to me, Aku."

The blonde bandicoot got in a fighting stance, facing at where the supposed fiend is located.

Aku Aku: "Now focus. Let the energy of the power gem flow through you."

Tawna got in a serious expression as she closed her eyes, clenching her fists in the process.

Aku Aku: "Now direct it to your fists, take control of it's power, my child."

Her fists slowly began to glow in a hot pink, and soon, the light started to spread to her arms too. Then, Tawna opened her eyes, and looked at her objective with determination. Both her hands lighten up on pink fire, mildly startling her.

Aku Aku: "Keep your calm, don't get distracted. Focus on your target."

She then let out a deep breath and focused back on the threat. The fire slowly spreaded to her arms up to her elbows.

Tawna: "I can do this… I got this." She said to herself.

Aku Aku: "Remember to maintain the flow, do not let the energy release uncontrollably, you must tell it where to go."

She then opened both her hands and put them together in front of her, as the fire was ready to get shot from her palms.

Tawna: "Here I go!" As she let the fire come out of her hands.

The bandicoot girl shot a big burst of fire. It came out with force at the beggining, but started to become smaller mid-way as it got weaker with distance, it soon made impact with the objective leaving a cloud of smoke in the process.

When the smoke cleared out, an improvised wooden dummy with an 'evil face' drawn on it's head could be seen, but even receiving such an attack, it barely had burns over it, showing minimal to no effect by Tawna's fire burst.

Tawna: "Damn it." She sighed with defeat. "This is really hard."

Aku Aku: "Do not give up, Tawna. This takes patience, you will be able to control the fire energy." He reassured the blonde bandicoot.

Tawna: "Yeah, but at this rate I may not be ready for when this 'Lord of the Shadows' attacks." As her arms and hands came back to normal, then she turned to face the witch doctor. "Do you think the girls may learn to control these energies too?"

Aku Aku: "You will all succeed, we believe in you." He said with a smile.

Tawna: "If you say so." She said with a little hope.

A car engine could be heard in the distance, and it was getting closer to where the Bandicoot family were. Tawna and Aku Aku looked at the jungle, where the sound came from, and when it got close enough, a beige buggy came out of between the palm trees, and raced through the beach.

Aku Aku: "Seems like they are already here."

Tawna: "Well, one of them at least." She pointed out.

Soon, the buggy arrived at the scene, stopping a few meters away from the blonde bandicoot and the floating mask. As the engine turned off and the dust cleared, the door opened and the driver came out. It was Ami, wearing a black leather jacket with a lime green tank top underneath, dark green cargo pants and black sneakers.

The green-haired girl also had a big patch on the right side of her forehead, and Tawna and Aku Aku looked at each other in concern by noticing this. She then approached both friends with a slight smile on her face, ignoring their worried expressions.

Ami: "S'Up?" She said with confidence, handing out her hand to greet the blonde bandicoot.

Tawna: "Hey, Ami." She said a little awkwardly, but went for a friendly handshake with her former team-mate.

Aku Aku: "It's good to see you again, Ami." He greeted her.

Ami: "Same here, Aku."

Coco (from afar): "Hey, Ami!"

Crash, Coco and the pets got closer to give a warm welcome to their friend, after two years of not seeing each other, everyone was happy to finally meet up, even Tawna, who was still with a nervous expression while remembering the bitter experience from the last time they saw each other, but calmed her thoughts seeing that her ex-Nitro Squad partner was also happy.

Ami then turned her head around and noticed the dummy.

Ami: "Target practicing, huh?" As she looked back at Tawna.

Tawna: "More or less. I still got to learn a lot of stuff." She sighed.

Ami: "Yeah, this whole situation is a little twisted, pal."

Coco: "We were investigating about these gems and they have some kind of energy in them, granting special powers to anyone who comes in contact with them."

Aku Aku: "And these gems got reactivated recently, looking for the most suited for such a power. Along with a powerful threat to the world."

Ami: "Which is?"

Aku Aku: "Ten'Minum, or the 'Lord of the Shadows' as they call him."

Ami: "Okay… And what does it have to do with me?"

Coco: "It's seems the lime green gem was the one that chose you, Ami…"

Aku Aku: "...which contains the 'Might' energy." He finished.

Then, the witch doctor signaled the training dummy, and the green-haired girl turned towards it.

Ami: "Might?" She asked with a little doubt.

Both Ami and Aku Aku got closer to the dummy.

Aku Aku: "Do you want to give it a shot?" He asked the muscular bandicoot.

Ami: "Do you think it will work?" She asked a little insecure.

Aku Aku: "With will and determination, you can do anything. Ami."

Ami: "...Okay…" She said still doubtful.

She then raised her fists and got into a boxing stance.

Aku Aku: "Now, focus on your energy. Let it flow through your fists and-"

Wasting no time and not paying much attention to the floating mask, the green-haired bandicoot charged an uppercut, which made her arm shine in a lime green light, letting out some sparkles from it, and hit the dummy with full force, blowing it to pieces.

Everyone just watched surprised at what just happened, including Ami.

Ami: "Whoa…" As she looked at her arm, while it got back to normal.

Coco: "Did you just… Blow up the training dummy?"

The muscular girl took a look at the now obliterated dummy, with some of it's pieces still falling back to the ground.

Ami: "That. Was. Awesome!" She said with excitement.

Aku Aku: "It's seems you already know how to control it, Ami. Well done." He said happily.

Tawna: "Lucky…" As she crossed her arms with a little envy.

Ami: "I actually just punched it, nothing else to add, guys." As she faced them.

Coco: "You didn't know anything about this?"

Ami: "Heh, I mean… I've never tried shootin' lasers or something like that, you know?" As she scratched the back of her head.

The bandicoot family just looked dumbfounded at their green-haired friend.

Aku Aku: "Well, it makes a lot of sense, as the Might gem only increases it's user's strength."

Tawna: "And since you know how to fight…" She finished.

Ami: "Cool." As she looked at her own hands.

Soon, another car was heard, but this instead of a buggy, was a taxi, stopping a few meters away from where the bandicoots, the mask and the pets were.

Ami: "Here they are."

As the passengers door opened, two bandicoot girls, a brunette one wearing a purple oversized crop top, black denim shorts and green sneakers, and a tall blonde one wearing a blue denim jacket with a white t-shirt underneath, blue jeans and white moccasins, both with their luggage in hand.

Everyone got closer to greet Liz and Isabella, but the pets runned happily towards the model and Coco towards the actress.

Liz: "Hello, little ones!" As she knelt to hug Polar, Pura and Baby T.

Coco: "Isabella!" As she hugged her friend tightly.

Isabella: "Coco, I missed you so much!" Smiled while returning the hug.

Aku Aku: "Welcome girls, I hope you had a nice trip."

Isabella: "We had Aku, thank you."

Ami: "Hey there…"

After greeting the siblings, the pets and the floating mask, Liz and Isabella directed their attention to Tawna and Ami, and the situation turned a little awkward for all of them, as that was the first time they saw each other since the fight that disbanded the team.

Liz: "Oh… You're here, too." As she got closer with the italian bandicoot.

Ami: "Yeah, stuff happened and… Yeah."

Isabella: "Okay, so here we are again, right?"

Tawna: "Yeah…" Said in an insecure tone.

All four girls were having a hard time, but deep down, they were actually happy to see each other again, as everyone missed the team. Even after uncommon events, it felt good for everyone to finally reunite the group.

Tawna gathered enough courage to speak up after the awkward encounter.

Tawna: "Girls, I know that we didn't end on good terms with each other, after what happened and all that, but… I'm happy to see you again." She smiled.

Ami: "Yeah, it's not easy to deal with another team when your friends are not there for you, I missed you all, you know?"

Isabella: "I missed you too… I was feeling a little lonely back there at Los Angeles, even with Liz by my side, I knew I needed the whole squad back." She said shyly.

Liz: "Izzy and I never split up actually…" As she hugged the tall bandicoot with one arm. "...but I'm also glad we are all here now."

The awkward moment soon turned into a warming one for the ex-Nitro Squad, and everyone felt happy to see the girls back together, but then, Aku Aku realized something.

Aku Aku: "Um, girls? And where's Megumi?"

Everyone took note that the blue-haired scientist couldn't be seen anywhere.

Ami: "Maybe she missed her flight?"

Tawna: "But she texted me she was on her way… That's strange in her." She said toughtful.

Crash: *gibberish*

Coco: "You're right big brother. Tawna, why don't you call her?"

Tawna: "On it." As she took out her phone and dialed Megumi's number.

After several seconds, the scientist answered the call.

Megumi (phone): "Tawna? Thank god!"

Megumi sounded nervous and that worried her friend.

Tawna: "Megumi? What's going on? Are you Okay?"

Megumi (phone): "I need your help, something is happening in the city!"

Tawna: "What? Where are you?"

Megumi (phone): "I'm in the central park, there's these strange creatures that are hurting people and destroying everything, I don't know what-" *static*

Tawna: "Meg? Are you still there?" She said worried.

Isabella: "What's that, Tawna? Is Megumi Okay?"

Suddenly, a big explosion was heard in direction to the city, and some birds flew away from it.

Ami: "Whoa, the hell was that?"

Tawna: "I'm not sure, but looks like Megumi is in trouble." As she put her phone away.

Liz: "Oh no, we have to go!"

Ami: "Everyone into the buggy!"

As the girls rushed to the buggy, Tawna stopped and looked at Crash, Coco and Aku Aku.

Tawna: "Come on, guys! What are you waiting for?"

Aku Aku: "Don't worry, we will help you later!"

Coco: "We have to go get something from my garage, we will catch you up, go!"

Tawna: "...Okay." She said still a little insecure.

Aku Aku: "Keep your calm, you will do just fine, Tawna!" As he went back to the house with the siblings and the pets.

Wasting no more time, the blonde bandicoot kept running to the car where her friends already were. When she entered the buggy, Ami started up the engine and accelerated towards the city.
