I've seen this kind of story and I decided to try my hand at it. In this story, everyone has been reincarnated into the modern world. Allen is adopted by twin brothers Mana and Nea and a performer at the Noah Theater. Lenalee is a waitress at her brother's Chinese restaurant. Lavi is a historian-in-training under the wing of his grandfather, Bookman. Kanda is a freelance gardener and was adopted by famed and eccentric artist Froi Tiedoll and has three foster brothers, but he now lives with his longtime lover and partner, Alma Karma.

An Unkind Yet, Kind Lifecycle

Sister Hevlaska Gottschalk stood before the glorious golden crucifix hung on the wall of the church's altar as a storm brewed outside. Lightning flashed as thunder rumbled, the only other source of light in the building being lit candles.

The tall woman with long, thick, curled silver hair looks at the face of Jesus Christ, her eyes shining a strange glow as tears streamed down her face.

"… An unkind cycle of death and rebirth…" She muttered as visions from long ago came to mind.

A little boy, no older than 4 with white hair and holding on to his bleeding face, stood alone in a burning building, crying for his parents, who were the very ones who injured him, set fire to their home, and left him to be burned alive. There is a stigma scar on the back of his burned left hand.

A young girl stood by her much older brother as they mourned over the graves of their now dead parents. There stigma scars on the outer sides of her ankles.

A beautiful boy in a bloodstained lotus-themed furisode stood over the dead body of his uncle. A knife drenched in blood is his tight grip and tears streamed down his bloodied face. His eyes were vacant and empty. The two stigmas are located just below the crook of his elbows.

A redhead boy with a bandaged eye sat alone on the streets in tattered clothes. It was snowing, but he didn't seem to care. On his right pectoral is the stigma.

"…and yet…" the woman muttered as more recent images appeared.

That scarred white-haired boy is a young adult currently balancing on a giant ball as he juggled. A crowd looks on in awe and mirth. He gives a little girl a flower, bringing a bright smile to her face. A smile of his own appeared. A pair of brothers not too far away cheered for him, well the long haired one did while his short-haired brother merely smoked on a cigarette. But Hevlaska can sense the man's pride and joy for the young man.

That fragile little girl has become an independent woman, working in a restaurant called Kě'ài Xiaotù as she happily served a customer. Many there adored and appreciated her and her kindness. Her older brother is at the register, clearly happy for his sister.

The beautiful boy blossomed into a handsome man with long raven hair. He is tending to a garden with an indifferent expression, though Hevlaska could sense a feeling of ease. Someone taps the man on the shoulder, and he turns around. When he did, another man with cropped hair and a scar over the bridge of his nose kissed him on the lips. They break apart and stared into each other's eyes fondly. Hevlaska could feel the pure love and devotion between the two.

The lonely redhead, now sporting an eyepatch, is sleeping soundly on a book he was reading. His grandfather draped a blanket over him.

"…it had at least brought them joy…" Hevlaska said, a small smile emerging from her lips. It was not only happy, but also sad. "As much as it pains our Lord in Heaven, the Exorcists must return to this world, for a new evil has surfaced." She unclasps her praying hands, revealing a shining cube.
