I'm leaving out the supernatural aspect this go around like with Valentines and Butterflies. I will try to keep this going at a steady pace with an update at least once a week. I have a couple other fics in the works as well. As always, please leave reviews to tell me what you think so far, and to follow and favorite! I look forward to writing this fiction with everyone! Warning: There are some major tragedy and pain in this story along the way, so if you are sensitive to certain subjects that include bodily harm, sexual assault, etc., then this might not be the fiction for you. It's not a focus point in the story, but there will be some of this along the way. Thank you.

[Homecoming]

"I can't believe you talked me into this," Bella groaned as she pulled on the sapphire dress. It was tight around her hips and waist, and then flowed to the floor in a chiffon fabric. It was a pure color, simple and elegant. Elena had Bella's hair wound up in a delicate bun and had even put makeup on her. A smoky eye look, that gave her the sexy, come get me look.

"Bella, you were nominated as part of the homecoming court. You must be there. The game will start at six. You have to walk out on the field at halftime with the others, and then the dance is after the game." Elena explained. She was already ready. They left half the day to prep for Homecoming. They were allowed half a day because they were part of the homecoming court.

Bella sighed. "Who's my escort again?"

"Jasper Whitlock." Elena responded and then painted Bella's lips a deep burgundy. "There, perfect." She said and looked down at her phone at the time. "Okay, we gotta go. Come on." She said and Bella followed her out the door. There was a limo outside.

Bella sighed. "Seriously?"

"It's homecoming." Elena shrugged, and opened the door. Inside, Caroline Forbes was already seated, Rebekah Mikaelson next to her. Bella ducked inside, and Elena followed. "We have to stop and pick up Alice Cullen, and Rosalie Hale." She explained.

Bella smiled at Caroline. They used to talk more, but Elena and Caroline were closer because they liked to do the same things. Rebekah was the typical mean girl at the school. Despite being a junior, Rebekah was at the top of the school. Everyone wanted to be in her clique, but not Bella. Bella and Rebekah did not get along. She fell into the same crowd as Rosalie Hale. The heiress to the Hale fortune, and one of the most beautiful ladies in Mystic Falls. She rivaled Rebekah's beauty, but the two were best friends, and equally as mean.

They picked up Alice and Rosalie and proceeded on to the school. They got there with little snarky comments from Rosalie and Rebekah. Elena looped her arm with Bella's and smiled at her. "Come on, smile sis. It's homecoming. We'll have tons of fun."

Bella sighed and smiled. "Okay but I'm not saying I'm going to dance. I'll just stand awkwardly in the corner."

"That's fine. As long as you're having fun." Elena beamed.

Alice looped her arm in Bella's other arm, leaning her head on her shoulder. Alice Cullen was another story. She was younger than Edward by only three minutes as they were twins. Fraternal of course. She was small and pixie light. Her reddish-brown hair was cropped short, and her dazzling almond colored eyes were much different than her brother's green ones. They walked down towards the end zone, waiting for halftime to start.

Bella watched as Edward got tackled hard, but not before he got the ball airborne, and Jasper caught it at the twenty-yard line, running it towards the end zone for a touchdown. Timberwolves were leading 14 to 0. The referee whistled, and jogged on to the field, a medic coming on to the field to examine Edward, who hadn't gotten up yet. Coach Tanner was ahead of them, getting to Edward first.

The stands were quiet as Tanner crouched down. There was some muffled talking, that Bella couldn't hear, but Edward got to his feet, shaking it off. The medic did a quick lookover and then trotted back to the sidelines.

There was some clapping and cheers as Edward raised a hand, waving.

Bella hadn't realized she was holding her breath when she exhaled suddenly. Alice blew out a breath too.

Halftime started and the players exited the field. Jasper Whitlock trotted over towards the girls, all glammed up. He pulled his helmet off, his bright blonde hair set free from his helmet. His doe brown eyes were bright and alert, as he smiled over at Bella. "Looking good Swan." He winked.

Bella smiled, raising a brow. "Not bad yourself. I hear you're mine tonight."

"That is the rumor." He said, and then looked over when his name was called by Edward. "I'll see you in a bit darling." He said with another smile and trotted off after Edward.

Elena organized the girls, and then the guys returned, mostly wearing their uniforms because they wouldn't have time to change out of them. They lined up, waiting for the announcer to begin.

Pair by pair, they walked on the field to center field. Elena Swan and Stefan Salvatore, Rebekah Mikaelson and Matt Donovan, Rosalie Hale and Edward Cullen, Alice Cullen and Tyler Lockwood, Caroline Forbes and Kol Mikaelson, Bonnie Bennett and Jeremy Swan, and then Bella Swan and Jasper Whitlock.

"Timberwolves this is your homecoming court!" The announcers voice boomed. It was the voice was Mike Newton, public speaker for most school functions. "This year's homecoming king is…" the snare drum rolled over in the band. "Edward Cullen!" Jessica Stanley, part of the homecoming committee, and school paper stepped forward placing a crown on Edward's perfect head. He smiled bright, doing a wave to the crowd, who cheered, even the visiting team cheered.

"This year's homecoming queen is…" The snare drum repeated its drum roll. "Caroline Forbes!" The crowd cheered again, and Jessica placed a tiara on Caroline's head and handed her some flowers. Caroline was smiling wide, and she took her place next to Edward, while Jessica took pictures for the yearbook and the school paper.

The game resumed, and Bella was ushered off the field with the others, and then Elena was dragging her to the school gym, where the dance would start. There were some last-minute details that needed to be done before the game would ultimately be over and the dance would start. When the game ended, Timberwolves won, 28-0. It wasn't surprising they were able to keep going. Soon the gym was filled with students from school. Bella stood off to the side, chatting with Jessica about the paper. She was supposed to be doing a mural for the school alongside Eric Yorkie and Ben Cheney, two other talented artists there at Mystic Falls.

"There you are," Jasper's voice called. He walked up, wearing a dark grey button up shirt, with a black vest, dress slacks, and then cowboy boots. He walked over to Bella and hugged her from the side.

Bella smiled. "Cowboy boots?" she instantly teased.

"Hey, you can take the boy out of the country, but you can't force him to be anything less than a cowboy." He said with a wink.

Bella looked over at Jessica. "I'll set a time for you to come by and do some pictures of the mural that we're working on." She responded and that seemed to make Jessica happy because she bounded away with a smile on her face.

"Oh yeah, the mural happening outside on the east side of the school." Jasper nodded. "I was wondering about why that's all roped off and secretive looking."

Bella grinned. "Well, it'll be unveiled soon. Jessica gets the first look because of yearbook and the paper."

"I can't wait." Jasper responded and then the music changed to a slow song. He reached down, taking her hand. "Come on." He motioned, dragging her out of the corner.

Bella groaned. "I don't dance Jasper. Really."

"Just a quick do-se-do." Jasper said and put one hand around her waist, the other clasped her hand and he twirled her around.

Bella sighed, smiling. "Fine. One dance, and if I step on your toes- "

"Steel-toed boots darling. Not gonna feel a thing." He winked.

Edward watched from afar. He was mad. Bella refused to come here with him, and he got stuck with Rosalie as an escort. Then she was here with Whitlock. His family was new to the area, taking up roots when Jasper was twelve. Seventh grade. He didn't belong, and what upset him the most was the way Bella looked so at ease with him. Jasper's hand was on her waist, their bodies closer than Edward wanted. He screwed up two years ago, and now he was being punished for it. It made his temper boil.

The song ended, and Jasper and Bella stopped dancing. He didn't drop his hand from her waist, but he smiled at her. "Thank you for doing this. I know that this isn't exactly your scene." Jasper mentioned.

Bella shook her head. "I'm glad my sister forced me into this. I don't know how I got nominated to be on the homecoming court, but I'm actually surprisingly happy I did this. Thank you for not mentioning how many times I stepped on your foot."

"I told you, steel-toed boots." He said with a wink. His smile was bright, inviting.

Edward interrupted now. "Bella. Can I have the next dance?" He said, his green eyes only looking at her.

Bella looked up at Jasper and smiled apologetically.

Jasper handed her hand off to Edward. "No worries man. I'm going to go chat with your sister," he said and smiled at Bella. "Thanks again Swan." He said, smiling, his cowboy charm showing through and then he was off to hunt down Alice.

Edward pulled her into a dance. The DJ was playing another slow song at Edward's request. Bella shifted in his arms, her body was close to Edward's, and she knew that it was intentional. "So, you came after all." He commented.

"Well, Elena drug me along. If I knew it would be this much fun, I wouldn't have tried to ditch." She tried a simple smile. She felt how tense Edward was, and then his shoulder relaxed. "You got hit hard. Are you sure you're okay?"

Edward blinked. "Oh, yeah. I'm fine. I just got the wind knocked out of me is all."

Bella nodded. "Oh okay." She smiled a little. "I'm sorry."

"Why?"

"Because I did tell you no. It's not that you're not um…" She wasn't sure how to say it. "It's just I have so much going on right now, and I don't want you to get the wrong impression. You know...given our past."

Edward stopped swaying with her, looking down into her chocolate eyes. He leaned in, his mouth connecting with hers. She froze as his lips touched hers. Her eyes were wide with shock. His mouth moved over hers, and then he leaned back, when she didn't kiss back.

"Uh…" Bella finally found her voice. "Um. I'm sorry, I was just-"He cut her off again, his mouth crushing to hers again. It stunned her that he would do it a second time, and it made her gasp, her lips parting and that gave him the angle he needed to slip his tongue against hers. She took a step back, her hand on his chest, and pushed away from him. She turned away from him and just walked off. He followed her, grabbing her arm when they got into the hallway.

"Bella wait."

"No. Edward. You can't just kiss people without asking permission." She whirled on him.

"I thought that…" Edward said, frowning. "I don't understand. You don't like me? You used to…"

Bella closed her eyes, tears already threatening. "It's not that. I just wasn't ready. We're on the dance floor, in front of half the school." She opened her eyes, looking back at him. She was making excuses. She did like him, and that was the problem. They dated already. They had been down that road. "Look, we dated, sophomore year. It didn't work. I'm not going down that path again. You broke my heart then, and I'm not going to risk that again."

"Bella," Jeremy's voice called to her. He had saw Edward follow her out and he was checking on her.

"I'm fine Jer." She called back to her brother.

Jeremy nodded, looking at Edward. He didn't particularly care for Edward. He was cocky, sure of himself, and he thought he could do whatever he wanted. When he dated Bella two years ago, he cheated on her, and broke her heart. He knew that he was a weasel, and he was trying his damnest to get back with her. "There's a party at Lockwood's. Come on." He said.

Bella nodded, and looked at Edward. "It is over Edward. Move on. I'm trying to stay friendly with you, but if you continue to act like this, I'm not going to be so friendly anymore." She said and left him standing in the hallway. She followed Jeremy, and Elena out to the limo. They were joined by Jasper, Alice, Tyler, and Matt.

They got to the Lockwood estate, and the party was already going. "How in the world did you manage this?" Alice asked Tyler, smiling brightly at him.

Tyler grinned back at her. "I have my connections. Mainly your big bro." he winked, referring to Emmett Cullen. Emmett graduated the year before them, and was attending Whitmore University. He was the quarterback before Edward took that position, following in his big brother's footsteps. Emmett was a big teddy bear, so much fun to be around, and usually the life of the party. His baby blues and dark blonde hair made him an instant heartthrob, paired with his abnormally good looks.

Bella sighed as she got out of the limo. "I really don't want to stay too long. I have some art pieces that I want to finish." She complained and Elena threw her arm around her.

"Live a little Bells. It's just one party." Elena smiled big.

Bella rolled her eyes and followed her sister inside. Elena brought a bag with better clothes and they changed in one of the bathrooms on the first floor. Bella felt better in jeans and a long-sleeved shirt, and her converses. She let her hair down out of the bun, and her hair tumbled down in waves. She didn't bother the makeup, leaving it on as she wandered out into the party scene. Music was loud, and there was a lot of underage drinking going on.

She glared at Jeremy when he raised the red solo cup up to his lips. "Jer…"

"Just a drink Bells. It'll be fine." He said with a crooked smile before taking a drink.

Bella shook her head, smiling at her brother before turning and bumping into Kol Mikaelson. Also, a senior, and only a year younger than Klaus. He was handsome in his own way, tall, and a bit lanky. His hair was darker like Elijah's and his eyes were just as dark. "I'm sorry." She apologized immediately.

Kol chuckled, his smile perfect. "No probably Bella." He said before steadying her and going over to Jeremy, high fiving him. They were best friends, and pretty much inseparable. Even though Kol wasn't on the football team. Kol was a musician, and so was Jeremy. Both played guitar, and drums.

Bella found her way to the kitchen bar where the drinks were being served. She bumped into Edward, and she groaned inwardly. "I'm sorry," she mumbled her apology.

Edward shook his head, and then handed her a red cup. "It's cool. Hey, I want to apologize for earlier."

Bella accepted the cup and shook her head. "It's okay. I'm sorry. It was a long time ago, I'm seriously over it, Edward. We're different people now." She offered a friendly smile.

He smiled back at her. His smile was still so perfect. He took a drink of his own drink, looking at her as she took her drink.

She was surprisingly thirsty, and while beer wasn't the best tasting, it was refreshing. The music was loud, and she didn't care for all the thumping.

Edward pulled her away from the noisiest area and more towards the back. He grabbed another drink for Bella as they left the area.

Bella took a drink of the second drink. It had some sort of vodka in it. At this point, she didn't care. She sipped on it, trying not to overdo it, after warning Jeremy, she didn't want to be the bad influence. She looked around, the world spinning a little. She frowned. "I drank too fast." She said, her tongue feeling a little heavy. She reached out and Edward caught her against him.

"Whoa. Hey, what's wrong?" Edward asked, looking concerned.

"Not sure." Bella frowned, looking up at Edward.

He guided her out of the hallway and into one of the unused bedrooms. He closed the door behind them and then helped her over to the bed. She sat down, the world still spinning around her. She blinked a few times, and tried to move her arms and legs, but they were so heavy.

Edward got her laying down. "Can you tell me what's wrong?"

Bella tried to speak, but then darkness was closing in on her. Her eyes fluttered closed.

Edward set his cup on the nightstand along with hers. He locked the door, and then turned and looked at her. The drug worked faster than he anticipated. He looked over her body. She was beautiful in every sense. When they dated sophomore year, she would never sleep with him, and it became frustrating. He pulled at her blue jeans gently at first, and when she didn't stir, he leaned down, his mouth on hers. In her drugged state, she kissed him back, sort of. His hands moved to his own pants, his buckle. He got his pants off, and then rolled a condom on. He positioned himself at her entrance, looking down at her face. He entered her slowly, her tightness overbearing. She groaned and shifted under him. His mouth went to hers again, and he kissed her, moving his hips against hers. He got excited, getting lost in the feeling of her surrounding him. He thrust hard into her, roughly, and then lost his control, banging into her, driving himself towards his own selfish release. When he finally came, he exploded inside her, the thin layer of the condom containing his seed as he thrust his hips into her a few hard strokes before he was finished. He waited a moment before pulling out and taking the condom off. He looked at her, some blood was on the sheets under her. He felt the pang in the pit of his stomach. He had been too rough. He pulled up his pants, and then there was a knock on the door. He panicked, shoving the used condom in his pocket and then excited through the window, leaving her there.

Bella blinked, opening her eyes. She was in a bedroom. Her head exploded with pain, and then she moved, feeling pain shoot inside, feeling incredibly sore. She was confused, dazed. Last thing she remembered was pulling up at Tyler's. She looked down, her pants missing, her underwear off. Blood. Panic shot through her as she tried to force her limbs to move. The door was locked she noticed and the window open. She looked around, finding her jeans, and her panties. She pulled them on quickly, brushing her fingers through her hair. She pulled the sheets of the bed and rolled it up. She dumped it in the hamper. What had happened? She didn't remember anything. Her phone was on the nightstand, along with two cups. She picked up her phone. There were some missed calls, and it was five in the morning.

"Shit." She cursed, and then unlocked the door, and walked out, looking around. She hadn't been here in a while, but she recognized the bottom floor of the estate. There was littered cups everywhere, where the party spun out of control. She walked outside, the dark still draped the earth, and she scrolled through her contacts. Who would be awake at five in the morning? The missed calls had been from Jeremy and Elena. They were probably leaving the party and were looking for her. She had a couple texts.

[Elena]: Headed to Stefan's. I'll see you at home Monday. Love you. 3

[Jeremy]: Yo, I left with Kol. I won't be home tonight. See you Sunday. Love ya sis.

Bella sighed. They weren't home and didn't know that she never made it home either. What the hell had happened? She sent a text to Klaus, not sure if he would be awake or not, but he was the closest to the estate.

[Bella]: Sorry to bother you, if you're awake, could you pick me up at the Lockwood Estate please?

She waited a few moments and then her phone buzzed.

[Klaus]: See you in a few minutes.

She sighed a sigh of relief and waited. Klaus pulled up a few moments later in his white Tesla and she got into the passenger seat. "I'm so sorry to bother you." She said, her arms wrapped tight around her body. Mostly because she was cold, but also, she felt dirty.

Klaus shook his head, flipping the heat on higher. "It's not a problem. I'm surprised that you were at this party. I hear it was a bit out of control last night." She looked disheveled. Her makeup smeared on her face, and her hair was a bit wild.

Bella was quiet, looking out the window.

"Bella?" Klaus said gently. "Are you okay?"

Bella looked at Klaus, smiling, but it didn't seem convincing. "I'm fine. I just drank too much and passed out. I just woke up and realized that I didn't have my car because we rode over in a limo." She explained.

Klaus nodded, driving in silence the rest of the way. He pulled up at the Swan residence and parked. Charlie was gone. He left right after the game to head to Quantico. He reached a hand over and touched her arm lightly and she flinched. He drew his hand back, frowning. "Something happen?"

Bella shook her head. "Sorry. I'm just tired. I'll see you Sunday. I'm almost done with that one painting." She said, opening the car door, and getting out.

Klaus didn't have a chance to say anything as she left.

Bella walked up the stone steps and used the key from under the mat to unlock the door. She went inside, shutting and locking the door. The emptiness of the house was a welcomed relief. She rushed upstairs to the bathroom, turning the water on scalding hot, and dumped her clothes in the floor before stepping in. She scrubbed her body, the panic bubbling up inside her before spilling out in sobs that racked through her.

She slid down the shower wall, sitting on the floor of the shower, and pulling her knees up to her chest, as she sobbed harder. Gasping for air occasionally. She didn't know what happened, but she did know one thing. She was raped.

[Sunday, October 23rd, 2022: Mikaelson Gallery]

Bella walked into the gallery. She spent the last day and a half scrubbing herself in a hot shower. She burned her clothes. She knew that it was a bad idea as soon as she did it. There was evidence on her clothes. She was still so sore, and was still bleeding a little, which worried her, but it had stopped earlier this morning. She had her canvas in her Jeep and wrapped carefully. She finished it Saturday night after scrapping the whole thing and redoing it. She hadn't been to sleep since that night. She was working off pure caffeine at this point.

Klaus looked up at her when she walked into the gallery. She was wearing jeans, and a long-sleeved shirt like normal, but her eyes were different. Tired, stressed, fear. He frowned, taking in that there were bags under her eyes so lightly, and she did look a little out of it.

"Bella, you didn't have to stay up all night completing it." He commented when she handed him the canvas wrapped in cloth.

"I'm fine." She said softly, not meeting his gaze.

Klaus sighed, and then unwrapped the canvas carefully. He looked at it, sucking in a breath. Dark reds, blacks, blues. He could see the pain on the canvas. It was beautiful. "Bella…" he murmured, his eyes dancing over the canvas. He saw the silhouette, the rough shadow was curled into itself, like a weeping woman. "It's beautiful." But it also concerned him. So much emotion was on this canvas, and the paint was still slightly wet.

"Thank you. It's called 'Blood Storm'." She said and looked around the gallery. "I'll have the second piece finished by the end of the week." She murmured again, still not meeting his gaze.

Klaus nodded, taking the canvas, and positioning it on the wall behind him. He then turned to Bella and reached out to her. She shied away, flinching, and tensing up. "I'm not going to hurt you…" he said softly.

"I um… I must get back. I'm sorry for yesterday morning." She said and left.

Klaus shook his head. Something had happened to her.
