Writer's Notes: Thank you Siobhan Whitlock, armywife1979, and pozemom for your reviews! Most of my fics are around the 14-15-chapter range. I have a few that go beyond that. Everything must unfortunately come to an end. I hope you enjoy the epilogue, as I thought it added some lighthearted humor to an ending of a great story. I can't wait for everyone to see my next projects. Be sure to favorite and follow to see what other stories are coming soon. I have two projects getting ready to post soon. One is a Twilight/TVD Anthology series, where every chapter is a new story. Like a collection of shorts, woven together. The other is another Twilight/TVD crossover with hints of True Blood in the works. I hope to see everyone at the next story! Thank you so much for all the amazing support!
[Mystic Falls High: 16 years later]
Bella wrote on the board the assignments for the week. She was teaching art at the school part time until they found a replacement. It was a favor to Uncle Ric, who had become the school Principal. Thirty-six looked good on Bella, and so was pregnancy. Her and Klaus had a surprise addition to the four they already had, which made this number five. They were pros at it by now.
"Mom, is it okay if I go with Emma after school?" Charlie poked her head in the art room. Charlie was every bit as beautiful as Bella. Her bronze hair favored her fathers with the curly locks, but her unusual violet eyes set her apart from other kids.
"Sure, thing honey. Are you taking Lucian with you?" She asked, looking at her daughter. Lucian was a year younger than Charlie. He had dark hair and eyes like his mother, but he favored his father in the face.
Charlie nodded. "Yeah, I can. We're just going to the bookstore."
Bella nodded. "Okay. Be careful. Love you." She waved to her daughter, and then Charlie was bounding off to her class before the bell rang to make her late.
"Em, mom said yes, we have to bring Lucian." Charlie said to her cousin. Em had dark hair and chocolate eyes like Elena. She was an only child, but her and Charlie were practically sisters.
"Sweet. Ask Matty if he wants to join," Emelia referred to their cousin Matthew as Matty. It was his nickname that they came up with. He was a senior and graduating this year. "Oh, and Sarah, if she doesn't have cheer."
Charlie nodded. "Yes. Bookstore, and then the Lockwood party!" She was excited. She hoped that Lucian wouldn't spill the beans about them going to a party after the bookstore. She didn't feel right lying to her mom, but she wanted to be a normal high school teenager for once.
Madeline Lockwood. The daughter of Tyler and Caroline Lockwood. She was the princess of the school. Her golden hair was perfect, her smile, also perfect, and her doe brown eyes were perfect for getting her way.
The new Heirs of Dawn consisted of Madeline herself, Sarah Salvatore, Charlotte Mikaelson, Jules Whitlock, Gemini Swan, Lorelei Hale, Louis Cullen. Caroline Forbes and Tyler Lockwood married and combined the entire family. So, there were seven prominent families in Mystic Falls now.
After the final bell, Charlie made a beeline to Emelia's car. She text Lucian on her way to let him know to meet at Em's car. Emelia was the last to show. "Sorry guys, I got hung up."
"Mhm, was this someone Louis Cullen?" Charlie teased.
"Oh hush." Emelia said, and got in the driver's seat. They went off to the bookstore to retrieve their alibi for the night, and then to the Lockwood party.
[The Woods: Outside Mystic Falls]
Cars were parked everywhere, students from the high school were already there partying.
Emelia and Charlie got out of her car, and Lucian followed.
"We're not staying long right?" Lucian complained.
Charlie looked at her brother. "Not long, just long enough to be seen." She smiled and reached out and ruffled his hair. Even though he was taller than she was.
"Charlie! You made it!" Lorelei Hale, the child of Rosalie Hale. Rosalie never disclosed who Lore's father was, but no one really talked about it anymore. Lore was Charlie's best friend. Charlie hugged Lore. They were opposite of each other. Lore was pale blonde and silvery blue eyes, and tall, and model like. Charlie was shorter, and curvy, and dark hair and violet eyes, still dark.
"Of course," Charlie smiled.
Lore looked at Lucian and smiled. "Hi Lucy."
"Do you have to call me Lucy?" Lucian complained.
Lore smiled. "Lighten up, Lucian. I'm just kidding. Go get a drink."
Lucian smiled and nodded, disappearing over towards a pop-up tent that housed the key for the beer for the party.
"Is Gemini here?" Emelia asked. Her cousin Gemini was the daughter of Jeremy and Alice Swan. She was a year younger than she was, and quiet. Emelia was always looking out for her because last year, she was bullied hard.
"No, I haven't seen her," Lore responded, and then grabbed Charlie's arm and pulled her along with her. "Have you seen the new kid?"
Charlie frowned. "There's a new kid in Mystic Falls?"
"Yeah. Declan St. John." Lore wiggled her brows. "He's hot."
"I haven't met him." Charlie said and grabbed a drink from the drink tent and took a drink. Beer was not good tasting, but everyone drank it to be doing something.
"He's over there," Lore motioned subtly towards a boy standing off by a lit fire, his dark hair brushing down in his eyes a little. His eyes were a light hazel, and his skin was tanned, perfectly. He wore a leather bomber jacket, and tight blue jeans. He was hot, Charlie had to admit.
Charlie didn't realize she was staring at Declan until he turned his head and look at her. She blinked and turned away, blushing. "I think he saw me staring."
"Oh, he saw you staring. He's headed this way." Lore said, smiling big.
"Excuse me." His deep voice surprised her, but she looked up at him. "I'm Declan." He held a handout to shake hers.
Charlie took his hand gently, shaking it. "Charlotte. Everyone calls me Charlie though."
Declan smiled; his perfect row of white teeth was gleaming. "Nice to meet you Charlie."
Charlie's phone rang. She dropped her hand to her pocket and pulled it out. It was her mom. "Oh shit." She said and looked at Lore. "It's my mom. I'll be right back." She said and glanced at Declan apologetically. "Hi mom."
"Charlotte Esther Mikaelson. You're at the Lockwood party and not at the bookstore." Bella's angry voice filled the phone.
"Uhhh…how did you know?"
"Your BROTHER. You're letting him drink?! Charlotte if you don't get your butt home right now, you're going to wish you were someone else right now. Go get Emelia and get home now." Bella was upset, super upset.
"Okay. Sorry mom!" Charlie said quick and hung up. She went back and found Emelia. "Jig is up, Lucian is drinking and now mom knows where we're at. We gotta go."
Emelia groaned. "I told him one drink." She pouted and then they found Lucian, taking the drink from him and toting him back to the car.
"Why Lucian! You always spoil our fun." Charlie complained. Declan was there suddenly, and it startled her. "Oh, hi Declan."
Declan smiled. "Can I get your number, so I could maybe take you to lunch sometime?"
Charlie smiled wide. "Oh yeah, sure," she said and then took his phone and put her number in it and handed it back to him. "Sorry I've gotta run. I'll…talk to you later." She said and ducked inside Emelia's car. She waved out her window at Declan, who waved back and then Emelia was leaving, heading back to the Mikaelson Manor.
[Mikaelson Manor]
"Calm down, they're just teenagers love, they do stuff like this sometimes." Klaus reasoned with Bella, who was steaming mad.
"No. She knows what dumb stuff goes on at parties. And to take her little brother to one, and let him drink, I should ground her from now until she's thirty!" Bella was furious. She rubbed a hand over her belly when some pain shot through her. She took a breath.
Klaus' hands were on her then, soothing her, easing her down into a chair. "Love, I agree. Stupid stuff happens at parties. Please calm down. You're not due for another four weeks, and I need you to remain calm for the baby."
"Mom, are you okay?" Karys' voice sounded from the doorway. She was thirteen, tall for her age, and her hair was like honey. Her eyes matched her father's, but she favored Bella in the face.
"I'm okay sweetie." Bella smiled at her second daughter, who was a twin to Kairi. Twin girls. That was a doozy for her and Klaus, but they were happy nonetheless that they were both healthy. Lucian was the only boy until number five was. They were letting it be a surprise.
Karys frowned. "Well, you should listen to dad. Rest. I can yell at Charlie when she comes home." She beamed.
Klaus smiled at his daughter. "While I'm sure you would love nothing more, right now you should go to your room, and study for the spelling bee."
"Oh right! Love you guys!" Kairi yelled as she darted up the stairs to her room to study. She was a book worm and was planning on being the first scientist in the family.
Charlie came through the door with Lucian. "We're home," she announced. Lucian wasn't terribly drunk, but he chugged too many beers back to back on a dare.
Klaus stopped Bella from getting back up. "I'll handle it. Sit here and rest." He met Charlie and Lucian in the foyer, his hands in his pocket. "Welcome home. Lucian, can you stand son?"
Lucian straightened and wobbled. "I'm sorry dad." He apologized. "Louis Cullen dared me to chug…seven…no…eight beers back to back." He confessed.
Klaus shook his head. "Go get washed up for bed. I'll deal with you in the morning." He said and Lucian stumbled off to the stairs and managed to get up by himself. Klaus turned his attention on his first born. "Party huh?"
Charlie looked at her feet. "Yes daddy. I'm sorry. I just wanted to hang out with friends."
Klaus nodded. "I understand. Maybe next time don't let it be at a dark party in the middle of the woods. Your mom is upset, but she'll calm down. You remember what we told you about what happened to her right?"
Charlie nodded, shifting a bit nervously. "Yeah. I wasn't thinking about that. I'm sorry."
"I know you are sweetheart." Klaus said and then stepped towards his daughter and brought her in for a hug, kissing the top of her head. "Go get washed up. Help your sister with her spelling words before bed. We'll talk about your sentencing later. I love you."
"Love you daddy," Charlie said, hugging her dad. She rushed upstairs and to her room, knowing that she hadn't escaped her true punishment.
Klaus returned to the parlor, seeing Bella sweating a little, and breathing heavily. He frowned. "What's wrong love?"
"Mmm. I think I need to go to the hospital." She blew out a breath.
Klaus nodded, getting her to her feet. "Charlie!"
Charlie rushed down the stairs at her dad calling her name in a tone that she had never heard before. "What's wrong?"
"Your mom is going into labor. Can you take care of the twins and your brother while I take her to the hospital?" Klaus said as he was grabbing his keys and walking with Bella slowly towards the door.
Charlie nodded. "Yes. Yes. Please let me know how she is. I love you mom."
Bella nodded. "Love you too Charlie." She said and then grimaced again at more pain.
[Mystic Falls General]
Klaus got Bella to the hospital, and Annabeth walked up wearing a lab coat, and stethoscope around her neck. "Oh, Uncle Klaus, Aunt Bella. Is it time?" Annabeth was a resident there at the hospital. She was on Gynecology rotation this month, and so she was helping with Esme with labor and delivery.
Bella smiled. "I believe so," she said and they Annabeth smiled at her.
"Okay, we'll get you settled in a room then. Janice, can you have her set up VIP. Page Dr. Cullen and let her know please." Annabeth instructed, and then leaned in and kissed Bella's cheek. "Hang in there Aunt Bella. You're going to do great."
Janice the nurse got Bella settled in her room, and Klaus sat by her side. He text Damon and Mary to let them know that Bella was in labor, and then he text Elena and Jeremy to make sure that they knew as well. This was the fourth time around for labor, but the fifth baby. Bella was a pro by this point.
"Mmm." Bella said, her brows furrowing together as another contraction rushed through her. "The baby is going to come soon. Where's Esme," She finally said after the contraction passed.
Esme opened the door and walked in right about then. "Hi Bella," Esme smiled bright at her as she rubbed her hands together, sanitizing her hands. "How are we doing?"
"It's moving fast," Bella said, her voice a little tired.
Esme moved to the bed, getting Bella in position and checking. "Oh, yeah. We're ready to push already."
Two pushed later, the fifth addition to the Mikaelson clan was born. Seven pounds, two ounces, nineteen inches long. Julius Alexander Mikaelson.
"Another son," Bella smiled, as she held Julius in her arms.
Klaus kissed her head. "Finally." He smiled.
"Well, he was an accident, let's not make this a trend." Bella said with a laugh.
Klaus smiled, looking over Bella's shoulder at Julius. Dark hair, curly. He kissed the top of Bella's head. "Best accident ever though."
Bella laughed. "Yes, best accident ever." She agreed. "We have four teenagers. We're way out of practice."
"It's like riding a bike isn't it?" Klaus smiled.
"I don't know. At least there's more hands to help this time around." Bella said smiling waiting for Julius to open his eyes to look at them. When he finally did, his eyes were a deep violet like Charlie's. "Oh look, just like his sister."
[Seven months Later]
"Charlie, can you check on Julius?" Bella called as she was changing the clothes over from the washer to the dryer. She heard the baby monitor crackle with Julius' cries.
Charlie walked out of her room to her baby brother's room, picking him up out of his crib, he smiled wide at her. She smiled back. "There's the pretty boy!" She said and hooked him on her hip and walked out of his room to the stairs. "Someone's hungry huh." She went to the kitchen, were Lucian was fixing himself a sandwich. "Oh, hey, can you mix some cereal for him please."
Lucian nodded, taking a bite of his sandwich and opening the pantry door, pulling out the baby cereal and some baby bananas. He worked on fixing him up his lunch. "Where's dad at?"
"The gallery I believe." Charlie answered, placing Julius in his highchair.
Bella felt the dizziness wash over her as she finished loading the clothes. She frowned. "No." She darted to her and Klaus' room, getting to the bathroom in time, before nausea rolled over her and she threw up in the toilet. "No no no no no." Panic shot through her. She reached under the sink, grabbing one of the left-over tests from finding out she was pregnant with Julius. She took the test and waited the three minutes.
She didn't want to look. She was scared to look. She took a breath and looked at the test. Big fat positive staring her straight in the face. "Fuck." She took a breath and then waited for Klaus to get home.
When Klaus got home, Bella was upstairs in the bedroom, which he thought was odd. "What's wrong love?" He saw her sitting on the side of the bed.
She held up a pregnancy test.
"Oh no. Is it Charlie? We had the talk with her and everything. Who is the punk who-"?
"Not Charlie. It's me." Bella said, sighing.
Klaus blinked a few times. "Oh, thank god." He felt the tension rise off him. "I seriously had a heart attack thinking our sixteen-year-old daughter was pregnant. Jesus Bella."
"Six kids. Klaus. This is a lot." She let out a breath. "You had a vasectomy."
Klaus nodded. "I did. We obviously need to go see the doctor and find out what's happening. But love, it'll be okay." He walked over to her, sitting next to her on the bed. "We'll make it through this."
"I'm thirty-seven."
"Mary was thirty-nine when she had Callum, and forty-two with Jennifer." Klaus pointed out.
Bella nodded. "This is it. I'm getting fixed this time. No repeats," She said with a nervous laugh.
"No repeats," Klaus smiled and kissed her. "But seriously, I need to see the doctor and see what happened." He stood, pulling out his phone. He walked out of the room to schedule an appointment.
As far as large families went, this was a large one. At Bella's doctor's appointment that week, she was nervous. Klaus held her hand while Esme rolled the gel on the wand and over her belly.
"Okay Bella. You know the drill," Esme smiled and rolled the wand over her belly and looked at the monitor. She took some measurements and then Klaus stifled a laugh. "Oh boy."
Bella frowned. "What?"
"I know it's not funny love, I'm sorry."
"Twins. Bella, you're having twins." Esme said with a smile.
"Seriously?"
"Seriously."
"Twins again."
Klaus nodded, smiling. "Twins again."
"That's seven! Klaus!"
Klaus smiled and kissed her. "I'm sorry love. I really am. I don't know why I find it so humorous, but I do."
"I'm glad someone finds it comical." Bella sighed. "Esme, I really want a tubal done after this. Did Klaus tell you that the vasectomy didn't take?"
Esme nodded. "He did. It sometimes happens. Everything looks good so far. You're about 15 weeks. I can tell you the gender now, or we can let it be a surprise."
"No. Screw the surprises. I want to know now." Bella said before Klaus could say anything.
Esme smiled. "Girl, and boy. Congrats you two."
"One of each…that's not too bad. The boys are still outnumbered." Bella commented. She pulled down her shirt. "I'm not showing much. The babies are fine though?"
Esme nodded. "Yup, both fine. You've always been small Bella, and you didn't show with the girls until you were around this point. Don't worry about it too much. Take your vitamins, and take it easy, like we did with the girls. This will be a breeze. Don't worry too much."
Bella nodded, getting to her feet. She looked at Klaus. "You're lucky I love you so much." She said and kissed him. "Come on, let's get home to tell the kids."
They sat the kids down in the living room, waiting for them all to settle. "We have some big news." Bella started.
Klaus nodded. "Your mom is pregnant."
Charlie's eyes lit up and smiled. "Oh, I just knew it!"
Klaus laughed. "Well, she's fifteen weeks pregnant, so we're already in the second trimester."
"Oooh, so you know what you're having?" Karys piped up.
Bella nodded. "Yes."
"I hope for another brother, Julius and I cannot be the only two boys." Lucian chimed in. The kids were all clearly excited about welcoming more to the brood.
"Yes. There is a boy." Bella nodded.
"And a girl."
Kairi and Karys jumped up together, hugging each other. "Twins! We're not the only ones!"
Charlie's mouth dropped. "Twins! Again!"
Bella nodded. "Yes, again."
The doorbell rang. "Oh, that's for me," Charlie got up and raced to the door.
Bella and Klaus looked at each other confused.
Charlie returned with a boy with her. "Mom, dad, this is Declan. Declan St. John. My…boyfriend."
"I'm sorry, your what?" Klaus said, looking at Declan. He was a pretty boy. Dark clothing, leather jacket. Mysterious looking.
Bella put her palm to her forehead. "I totally forgot honey. The movie is tonight isn't it?"
"Wait you knew about the boyfriend?" Klaus asked.
"I apologize sir, I didn't realize that you didn't know. I promise that I'll treat your daughter with the respect she deserves." Declan spoke up.
Klaus looked at him again, studying him. "Okay. What time is the movie over?"
"Ten." Charlie relayed.
"Have her home by midnight, it's Friday. I'm not a monster." Klaus said when Bella raised a brow. "What?"
Bella smiled and looked at Charlie. "Midnight honey. Declan, text me your dad's number so I can keep up okay?"
Declan nodded. "Yes ma'am. I promise."
Charlie hugged her dad and tipped up on her toes and kissed his cheek. "I love you daddy. I'll be home by midnight." She said, and then grabbed Declan's hand and they were out the door.
"When did she get old enough to date?" Klaus looked a little dumbfounded.
Lucian smirked. "Since she turned seventeen last month. I turn sixteen soon, does that mean I can have a girlfriend?"
Klaus ruffled his son's hair. "If a girl says yes to being your girlfriend, then sure."
"Hey!" Lucian smiled, and then him and Klaus started a playful wrestling match on the living room floor.
Bella sighed, smiling and then Karys came up to her and hugged her.
"I love you mom. I'm happy that you're pregnant again. I had a dream about it last week, and it came true."
"I love you too sweetie, and I'm really glad." She kissed the top of her head. "Now go wash up for dinner."
Klaus pretended that Lucian got the best of him and tapped out. Lucian bounced up from the floor and high fived Klaus before rushing off to wash up for dinner. "I'm getting old."
"Mhm. Nearly forty." She agreed. "Well, we'll soon be the Mikaelson's party of nine."
"Yes, my love. It is strange that I'm the middle child of seven, and here we are…having seven kids. Elijah has two, Freya has one, Finn has three, Rebekah has three, Kol has how many all over the world," He smirked.
Bella elbowed him gently. "Be nice to Kol."
"Kidding. Henrich is the last of the Mikaelson's to have children. There's already so many. I'm losing count how many nieces and nephews I have."
"You have 19 nieces and nephews. I have all their birthdays in a calendar so don't worry." She smirked.
"Damn, that many?" Klaus made a hmm sound. "I think we've done a pretty decent job."
Bella nodded in agreement. "We have."
"Wait, Declan St. John. His father wouldn't be Lorenzo St. John?"
"Enzo, I believe is what Declan said." Bella said.
"I'll be damned." Klaus murmured.
"What?"
Klaus smiled. "Declan is the perfect boy for our daughter. Enzo is a really good friend. The St. John's are good people love."
Bella smiled. "Good, because I already told Charlie she could date Declan because the way she talked about him made me think he was a lot like you, and he is pretty charming."
"Hmm. He is pretty. I wonder who his mother is." Klaus was curious, but he kissed his wife. "Alright, I believe dinner will be ready soon. I'm glad that Lina was able to cook dinner tonight on short notice. I miss her lasagna." He commented as they walked together into the dining room.
The perfect family, overcoming several different obstacles in their paths, to be united and become one of the most powerful families in the Heirs of Dawn. Going forward, their children will begin another legacy, open other chapters, and fulfil their own destinies. No one knows what is left to come, but Bella and Klaus, got their happily ever after and their hopes for the future is that their kids do too.
