Hello, Steve here. I guess this is a little different for me to be making. Anyhow, hopefully this one will go better than my last pokemon stories.
In the small town of Vanville, the sound of a door closing could be heard, "be safe on your journey, Davaid!" said the voice from the inside, "got it mom!" said the young man. Taking a hint of fresh air, he took out his map, and began walking in a direction. Walking through Route 1. proved to be little challenge as it was the path only walked on by aspiring trainers looking for the chance to get a new Pokemon. Unfortunately Davaid knew he had to walk all the way to Lumiose City.
"Hello!" greeted the shopkeeper, "good morning sir! Do you have any repels?" Davaid asked, "of course! They're 350 pokedollars a piece," answered the cashier, "perfect," purchasing a fair amount of the item, "have a good day," he waved, stepping out ready to make the trek through the biggest challenge to face without a Pokemon.
Stepping into Santalune forest, looked up at the trees that towered over him, he could just about hear all the pokemon crawling around, making noises, and a howl? Davaid felt shivers running down his spine upon hearing that noise. A Houndoom of all things was likely in the forest, and it could be watching him right now. Taking his first step into the tall grass made him shiver. He hadn't noticed the repel wearing out, as the scent was very subtle to humans. He kept creeping through, before bumping into something black. He froze, "shit! shit! shit!" he mentally cursed, hoping he just bumped into somebody's backpack, or even a Scatterbug.
His eyes slowly made their way up the body he bumped into, it had a long, thin tail that ended in a point. It looked to be a quadruped build, and one of its hind legs appeared to be caught in something. Davaid felt his heart drop when the Pokemon turned its head to face him. It was indeed a Houndoom, "oh sweet Arceus!" he scream, it growled at him, baring its teeth as it lowered itself to the ground, judging from its build, it was a female. What he also saw made him almost sigh in relief, its left hind leg was caught in a bear trap that was likely left by a poacher.
He knew he had to do the right thing and free the Houndoom, but he was having second thoughts. It could potentially try to kill him after if it was freed, but he took another look at its trapped leg. There was quite a bit of blood where the teeth of the bear trap snapped on its leg. Taking a step closer he raised his hands, "hold it there Houndoom, I'm going to set you free, and then try to get your leg patched up, okay?" the Dark Pokemon looked him dead in the eyes, as if it was trying to look for something in them, before nodding. Getting the bare trap was quite the challenge for somebody who had just recently turned 15, but Davaid still gave it his best effort to get the pokemon's leg out of the trap.
Finally the bear trap came off, "now I want you to lay down on your right side, I don't want you putting pressure on your leg for right now," Houndoom obeyed. As expected, the leg was bleeding quite a bit, and up to his knowledge, the leg wasn't broken, but he knew he needed to find somebody with actual experience on a Houndoom's anatomy. Finally deciding on what to do, he picked up the injured hellhound, "I am going to take you to the Pokemon center to get that leg patched up, and then if you want you can go back in your own, okay?" The two slowly began making their way to the other side of the forest. Throughout the entire walk, the Houdnoom kept its eyes fixated on Davaid, and finally, the gates of Santalune City was coming into sight.
This was quite the long chapter, but it's nice to get a fresh story out. Anyways, thanks for reading if you did, and I'll see you later.
