The morning sunlight slowly creaked its way into the bedroom, Davaid slowly opened his eyes, feeling something big and warm under his arm. His eyes slowly made their way to the face of Houndoom, for a pokemon known for being vicious and aggressive, she seemed just as friendly as a Rockruff. He began to pet the sleeping pokemon softly as somebody knocked on the hotel room's door. Houndoom snapped awake at the sudden noise, "I'll get it!" Davaid yawned as he got up.
Upon opening the door, Nurse Joy was standing in the doorway with an annoyed expression, "I have received notice that some journalists are coming to interview you and the Hounndoom you brought in yesterday," said the nurse. Daaid sighed, "what about me helping a pokemon out is newsworthy? I just did what anybody would have done, "simply put, Houndoom aren't the easiest pokemon to befriend, let alone capture," said Nurse Joy, "I'll give you some time to prepare for the journalists' arrival," she added before going back to attend the Pokemon Center.
Davaid walked back to the bed before sitting down by Houndoom, a question finally stabbed the back of his head, "hey Houndoom," the hellhound's eyes locked on him. Taking out the premiere ball he won out of his bag, he raised it, "how would you like to come with me on this journey?"
I stared at Davaid as he called my name, well it wasn't a name, more just the name of my species. I followed his hand as he reached into his backpack and dig around for what felt like minutes. What he pulled out put me on edge, it was a Pokeball, "you want to come with me on this journey?" He asked. Once he asked the question his eyes lit up with hope, and while I may not have thought a human would want anything to do with me, it was a nice surprise. I tapped the ball in front of me, and everything went black.
Being inside a pokeball was hard to explain, all I could see was void, but I could also see a seal lock. Suddenly it was reopened and I was back in the hotel room with Davaid. My tail had started wagging at the thought of being with a human. While I knew not of his ambitions, I knew from then all, we'd be together through thick and thin.
I stared at Houndoom after she came back out of her new pokeball, I crouch down to hug her. I knew I probably wouldn't be doing anything such as the Gym Challenge, but I just wanted to see the world. The new company of my Houndoom would be a nice addition to it all. "My Houndoom" doesn't sound right, she wasn't my property, so perhaps I shouldn't refer to her as such, maybe "my friend" or whatever name I decide to give her would fit better. It also made me remember another question, what to call her by?
"Now I've gotta give you a name…" said Davaid as several names flew through his head, "Cerberus sounds good, but it doesn't exactly roll off the tongue well." He took another look at her, her reddish orange underbelly gave him an idea, "how does Ruby sound?" Asked Davaid.
Upon hearing the name, it sounded nice and simple to me. While I wasn't too fussed about whatever name he could've given me, I could tell he put some thought into it. I barked my approval, and he smiled, "well Ruby, you just made my morning even better!" He then proceeded to hug, and lift me up into the air. It felt nice to be loved and appreciated for once.
Suddenly, somebody else knocked at the door. Davaid's expression instantly changed, "grand, I almost forgot about that." He laid Ruby on the bed before going to answer the door.
With this story I want to try and have a blast with it, and experiement quite a bit. So far I'm have a great time making chapters for this story. Currently there is also relatively no end goal for this story, and personally I don't thik this story needs an end goal. I want it to be more focused on the Davaid's journey, and the relationships of him and the pokemon he meets along the way. I know this choice may drive somebody away from this story, but that's fine, if I enjoy writing it, that's all that matters to me.
Aslo I accidently made this chapter the first chapter lol. Thankfully it's fixed now
