We had been walking on Route 5 for a good part of a couple days now, it was much longer much longer than I had anticipated, "looks like we'll be stopping for tonight," I said, taking off my pack. I knelt down and took out a tent, but left the sleeping bag. I've yet to use the sleeping bag while camping out on the side of the route, and I don't think I really need to.
The sun began to set in the distance, the three of us sat around the campfire, "hey Ruby," Davaid had called my name, patting the ground beside him. I happily obliged to his request to sit next to my trainer, I leaned into Davaid, he put his hand on my side head, and began to scratch the side of my head.
Snowy trotted over to me then took a seat, I reached out, and started to pet her head. The three of us yawned, I lied down, and soon after Ruby and Snowy had nested on my sides. I stared at the stars in the sky, I began to try to make out the constellations I knew, and slowly began to sleep.
While Davaid had begun sleeping, I rolled on my back, and looked up at the full moon. Snowy did the same, "psst, Snowy," I whispered, "yes Ruby?" I raised my paw at the stars, "what do you see the stars as?" I turned to the Ninetales, she kept staring at the stars.
My mind was racing to figure out how to answer my friend's question, vague memories of what my mother had told me started to fill my head, "my mother had always told me that stars are dreams waiting to be fulfilled," I said, hoping Ruby would be satisfied with that answer.
The Houndoom's eyes were full of wonder, "that sounds nicer a lot than what my mother had told me," this caught my attention, "she told me and my brother that the stars are shattered dreams," she finished. Ruby shivered a little and yawned, I covered the three of us with my tails, "goodnight Ruby, "goodnight Snowy."
Off in the distance sat a pokemon with a malicious grin, staring down at its next targets, "Malamar." It retreated to its warehouse, keeping its gaze on the two pokemon at the human's side. It started laughing to itself about all of the fun that would come with them in the mix.
In the morning I woke up to the smell of something sweet being cooked in a pan, "oh, good morning Ruby!" Greeted Davaid as he flipped something, "I figured we should enjoy some pancakes on the road," I looked over to Snowy, who had also just woke up. We both shook the sleepiness out of our eyes, and trotted over.
I placed bowls in front of my Pokemon that were filled with a couple of pancakes, "bone appetite," I grabbed my plate and sat on a nearby log. I took a bite out one of my pancakes, then looked over to Snowy and Ruby. They had already eaten all the pancakes, "I'm guessing you two liked them, huh?" I said, Ruby nodded, "you need to make these more often," said Snowy.
I quickly scarfed down the pancakes, packed up the tent, and put away the dishes. I picked up my backpack, "alright, let's get going," the two barked before walking by my sides. We had just covered the first mile of the day, both Ruby and Snowy had stopped walking and were growling at something. I looked around to see what they had been growling at, only to find nothing.
I looked back, I had noticed something off with their eyes, they had a very light glow around them. Both of Snowy charged up an Ice Beam while Ruby charged up a Flamethrower, they were aiming at me. My eyes widened, running behind a tree for cover, "oh shit! Oh shit!"
And... I say that's a good cut off point. I'd like to say thanks for everyone who's jumped along so far. Anways, thanks for reading, and I'll see y'all later.
