My eyes slowly cracked open, what made me smile was that Ruby's wounds were healing fast, and that I wasn't separated from my Pokemon. The only thing I wished for was that we weren't in this situation, "Pika?" I looked up, and Ash's Pikachu was staring at me. It was probably making sure we weren't going to try anything. I knew at any moment an officer and an interrogator would arrive at the campsite, and all I had to do was tell the truth.

I woke up at the sound of the Pikachu trying to get my attention, I groaned, and tried going back to sleep. Davaid started petting me on the head, "hey!" Said the Pikachu once more, I turned my head and face him, "Pikachu get away from. That Ninetales!" Said its trainer. The Pikachu ran off to get back with its group.

I was staring at the girl in the group, she looked like my neighbour's kid. That didn't mattter right now, I reached into my bag and took out a couple Oran Berry bars, "hey. Snowy," I called, lowering the treat in front of her, she began eating it. I nudged Ruby, she raised her head, "hey girl, eat this, it'll help you get better," at first she refused, but eventually took a bite.

I didn't want to appear weak, so I refused to take Davaid's food. I kept turning my head, "c'mon Ruby, you need to eat something," he pleaded. I looked up into his eyes, I knew he hated seeing me in my current state, and he wanted to help me out. I gave into his pleas, and took a few bites. Davaid scratched my chin, "hopefully we can get out of this mess, so I can treat you guys to some ice cream."

Serena had been occasionally peeking over at this Davaid, "he looks like my neighbour," she mused. The girl shrugged and turned her focus back to rushing Fennekin, the rest of the gang heard that comment, "what did your neighbour look like?" Asked Clemont, Serena shrugged, "I never really got a good look at him, I just remember seeing my neighbour sitting under the tree with a Ninetales," she said.

"It was late into the afternoon when an officer had arrived at the campsite, "where is this Davaid Hyles?" Asked the officer, "he's over there," said Ash. The two walked up, the culprit, and he was still petting his Pokemon's heads. Daaid looked up when he heard the Officer's heavy boots on the soil, "he doesn't look like a killer."

I saw how tense Davaid got when he saw the police officer, "remember Davaid, just tell him the truth," I said. He nodded before hugging me and Ruby tightly, he picked up the Houndoom, and laid her on my side. I quickly covered her with my tails.

"Officer, I killed that Malamar that was found in the forest," I admitted before lowering my head and staring at the ground. My eyes were hidden by my hat, "I never wanted to hurt anything on my journey… I just wanted to travel around the world," I said, "look me in the eyes when you're speaking to me, kid," it took me everything I had to follow what I was told.

I wanted to run away from here, I wanted to, but I didn't. If I didn't face my problems they'd only get worse. I let it all out, I told the officer everything that happened only just a few days ago, "and then I killed the Malamar, I didn't have any options officer, it was getting my Pokemon to attack me!" I rolled up the sleeve of my burnt arm, "I got this burn on that day from Ruby there."

"I believe you," said the officer, I looked at him with hopes in his eyes, "you're a minor so charges can't be made against you, and judging from your story. It was self defense," he said before taking out his notebook, "just stay out of trouble from now, and we won't have any problems, got it?" I nodded. I knelt down and started petting my Pokemon, "well Davaid, you're a free man now," said the officer, before getting up to leave.

"Well guys… I said I'd get you some ice cream, so let's go shall we?" I did my best to lift Ruby up, "but first we're getting you to a Pokemon center. I felt a hand on my shoulder, "hey, sorry for attacking you guys earlier," said Ash… if I remembered correctly, "how about a friendly battle?" He asked. I looked down to Snowy, she was shaking in excitement.

I smiled, "alright, I'm just gonna warn ya now, Snowy's a monster in a battle," I set Ruby on my sleeping bag, and stepped back a fair distance to let our Pokemon go at it, "let's go Pikachu!" Yelled Ash, "well Snowy, here's our first battle!" Snowy grinned at me before stepping forward. I looked over at Ruby, who was wagging her tail, "let's kick things off Thunderbolt!"

Snowy was quick to react, stopping the attack mid air with Telekinesis, "what comes around, goes around! Let's send it right back at them!"

I think that's a good spot to leave off. I was thinking long and hard on this one, and I think this came out well. Thanks for reading, and thanks for nearly 10 follows and Favs!
