I slowly opened my eyes to only see more darkness, "wha…?" it felt like there was fur all over my face. I moved my head back, my face was buried in Snowy's mane, this almost reminded me of back when I was a kid, where I'd always cuddled up with one of Mom's Pokemon. Ruby was still laying by my side as well, I gently pulled her closer to me, and I simply enjoyed the moment. My ears were the only thing that wasn't relaxing, "Ash, while insist ont us to treat Davaid as a friend, I don't think we can trust him," said Clement, Ash and his friends were probably used to waking up early.

I kept pretending like I was asleep to not pull their attention to me, "c'mon Clement, he seems alright," Ash responded. There were a few moments of silence, "Ash, he might seem like a good guy, but keep in mind that he did kill that Malamar," I started ignoring them at that point. I knew what I was doing as soon as my Pokemon woke up and were given a proper breakfast. I felt a tongue make its way across my cheek.

I could feel Davaid's heart beat picking up, I opened my eyes and looked at his face. He was awake for sure, he seemed relatively calm for his current heartbeat. I licked his face gently, "oh, hey Snowy, after the others wake up, we're gonna break off from this group," he told me. Whatever made him make this decision I wouldn't know, but I could hear Ash and his friends talking about Davaid, so I started to put two and two together.

Not long after Snowy had woken up, Ruby, Oasis, and Volpsei started waking up. After I was free from my Pokemon sleeping on top of me, I sat up and scratched my back. My "friends'" conversation quickly changed subjects to something else, "so Ash, what's your strategy for taking on Korina at the next gym?" bullshit, and they knew it. I grabbed the cans of Pokemon food, and started preparing breakfast for my best friends.

I sat next to Davaid and leaned into him while he made us breakfast, he patted me on the head, "hey girl," he said quietly to me. He wrapped his arm around me, keeping his focus on not burning our food, and he actually kissed me on the forehead. Now, there wasn't anything romantic about what he had just done, but it made me relax even more onto his side. I licked his face a couple of times, before laying my head on his shoulder.

Ruby was leaning on me while I cooked her food, she wasn't getting in the way, and I loved it when I cuddled up to her. If it weren't for the fact that I was preparing a meal, I would've dropped everything I was doing just to hug my best friend. She was starting to get drowsy from laying her head on my shoulder, the food was done, so I booped her nose. She looked up at me, "hey Ruby, it's time to eat," she barked, before getting up off my shoulder. Ruby may not know it, but she just made my morning.

Just like that, the food was done, I laid the bowls of food out in front of my Pokemon one by one, keeping ahold of Oasis's bowl for a special reason. She was the newest member to the family, so I served her last. Ruby had got up off of my shoulder to focus on her meal, so we could get up and get going as soon as possible. I laid the bowl in front of the Milotic, sat down next to her, and began to pet her while she ate.

Even though this food was nowhere near as good at the chocolate from yesterday, it was a free meal, so I couldn't complain. At first I thought Davaid had given me my food last since he was more attached to the others than he was to me. While I was eating, he sat down next to me, and started petting the back of my back. I was too tall for him to reach the back of my head. I quickly ate my food, then turned to face Davaid.

He was still petting me, I decided to lower myself a bit more to the ground, and Davaid started rubbing my jaw bone. I started to get why some Pokemon absolutely love being around humans all of the time. I laid down on his lap, well, as best as I could being nearly five times his size. I was actually relaxing in a human's grasp, Davaid wasn't being too pushy either. He hugged me, I rubbed my head against his cheek to show that I was actually starting to like his company a lot more.

I knew eventually we would have to get up and leave, I took a deep breath, Oasis was surprisingly cuddly for a 20 foot tall Pokemon. It looked like Snowy was saying her goodbyes to Ash's Pikachu, I quickly patted my friend to let me up, and I picked up my bag. I got up and sighed, "hey Ash, I think now is the time for me to start heading down my own path," I said, "but you just woke up," he pointed out, "yeah… yeah, but there's this one place I wanted to check out."

"We could come along with you to check it out," said Serena, "something tells me some of you guys might not like that," I responded, "let's just say friendship needs a level of trust, and I'm not trustworthy in some people's eyes," I got up, then started walking back towards Geosenge Town. it wasn't a lie about me wanting to check out another place, and I would've loved that group's company as well. Now the only people who were walking beside me were my Pokemon, my shadow, and the sun.

I looked at the map, "well guys, we're going to meet some fossil Pokemon in a couple of days!" I got my journal out, Ambrette Town was on the list. I was drawn out of my book when Volpsei manages to climb up on my shoulder, and rest on it like Ash's Pikachu. I sighed, I would've kept traveling with them, but this was probably the best option. Who knows? I might see them again. The little Vulpix cuddling up on my shoulder made me grin, I started rubbing his chin, and started to focus on the road ahead.

I managed to climb up Davaid's shoulder, now I knew what it felt like to be that Pikachu! I felt bigger than the world around me. The nice rub on my chin made me get sleepy, and I nearly fell off his shoulder. My trainer decided to carry me in his arms, so I could sleep without falling on the ground.

Oasis had started to lay her head on my shoulder as we walked, she was way friendlier after this morning's breakfast, and I couldn't complain about that. I used one arm to carry Volpsei, who was sleeping, and the other to pet Oasis. I was reminded by my stomach growling that I myself hadn't eaten yet. We all stopped to have a "brunch" as rich people called it.

BadStoriesComeToMe asked if Island Trials(or totems) were an actual thing in the Pokemon universe. The answer is they were a thing in Pokemon Sun and Moon, the anime didn't really touch themm, but in the games they are the replacement for gyms in gen 7.

Another thing I wanna point out is, while Snowy maybe old, she is a Ninetales, which can live for a thousand years. Forty years is relatively short for them.
