boop boop consipriacy shit
*Kevin Rian sir. We had no idea he'd be here. No tips from our CIA insider… he must have been really deep undercover.*
"It doesn't matter how undercover he was! They're gonna find his name eventually…!"
*Yes sir… sorry sir.*
It was three in the morning at the Howard Connection penthouse and the boss of Southtown - Geese Howard - was hunched over his desk in his pyjamas. Billy had woken him up to take an urgent call from one of his drug operation overseers. Those fucking idiots had gone and killed some Federal agents.
Normally, this sort of thing didn't scare Geese Howard. After all, he was one of richest and most powerful men in this hemisphere. He was smart too, and the people he employed were smart as well. They didn't tend to pull bullshit like this, and even when they did - it was easy enough to cover up, or at least push the blame elsewhere. Geese Howard had about a third of SouthTown's Police department on payroll. Concerning the local law, he was untouchable.
The problem wasn't getting convicted. A man of his stature would get off easily, even if he were put on the stand. The problem was that Geese Howard had amassed a number of powerful enemies over the years, and if news got out he might be in trouble with the feds? They might be stirred to take up arms against him.
*Sir, what should we do?*
It was no secret that the Chinese Triads had a run-in with the Yagami clan recently. They had lost a good number of men, and were ceding more and more territory to their Japanese neighbors. From what Geese was hearing, Yagami had infiltrated Shanghai and we're aggressively expanding. They had made their intention to spread across the Pacific very clear in past years, but Geese's strength - rather his appearance of strength - kept the Japs from launching an assault.
The Yagami clan were in this for money. If things got bad, Geese could cut a deal.… but Terry Bogard?
SouthTown's Hungry Wolf was just that, hungry. Many years ago Geese Howard had slain his collegue, Jeff Bogard, at the wrong place, at the wrong time. That incident spawned an enemy who would prove to be a great thorn in his side, one who refused to be be sated. As of late, Terry hadn't been pursuing him - likely because he became an adoptive father - but Geese was well aware how dangerous Bogard could be. If the wolf were to stirred from his den, Howard Connection would certainly feel it.
Even though he was the king of SouthTown, he wasn't the absolute ruler. Even he needed a tread carefully. He needed to keep up appearances. So far, the only thing keeping the Japanese off American soil and Bogard stuck playing house, was the appearance that Howard connection was peaceful, strong and silent. Although they were a criminal organization, If there were no incidents, there was no real push to pursue him… and every moment Geese wasn't being pursued, he making shitloads of money. As such, Geese Howard didn't mind laying low. That was what they'd done in the past - that is what they do now.
"Lenny, listen to me."
*Yes sir.*
Geese sighed and lowered himself into his office chair. He planted his elbows on his heavy mahogany tabletop and folded his hands before him. The expression of worry had evaporated off his face, and his normal expression - stern with the glimmer of dangerous intelligence - took hold of his features. His voice was slow and calm, and was obviously having an effect on his employee.
"Sweep for witnesses and dispose of them discreetly. Get rid of the bodies - and make sure to throw ammonia on it. I don't want anyone running DNA tests. When you've finished, move the warehouse. I want no evidence that we've been there. Have it done before sunrise. Understood?"
*Yes sir!*
"No mistakes. Be thorough. Nobody knows what happened today. Instruct all your men to keep their fucking mouths shut. Nobody knows about this."
*Understood sir."
Trying my hand at Gooseman. More to come.
