We stepped into Ambrette Town, we were finally going to be able to meet some "fossil" Pokemon! Just the thought made me shake with excitement. The town itself was quite beautiful, being located on the huge cliffs of Route 8, gave you a perfect view of the sea below, and the cherry on top was the large laboratory where Pokemon that were once extinct were brought back to life with just a fossil. We stepped into the Pokemon Center first to stalk up on supplies.
Some weird guy walked up to us, he had a Tyrunt, one of the Pokemon you can see at the Laboratory, on a leash. He was wearing orange-red sunglasses, a lab coat, and regular tourist attire on him. He held up the leash, "how would you like this super rare pokemon for just 40PD?" he asked, offering the leash, and extending his other hand out for the cash. There had to be a catch, 40PD couldn't even get you a Pika Cola out of the Pokemart! I blinked at the guy, "what's the catch?" I asked.
"There is no catch! Just promise me you'll take good care of him!" he said, I was skeptical, it was holding what looked like a Hyper Candy in its hand. If I remembered correctly, it would make any Pokemon without a special requirement, to evolve upon consumption. I shrugged, what's the worst that can happen? "Alright, I'll take it," I handed him the 40PD and he gave me the leash, the Tyrunt itself, and its Pokeball. Snowy looked at me with questioning eyes. Even though I didn't know if this was a good idea, I didn't want to pass up on the opportunity.
I figured if I already had a Fossil Pokemon, we wouldn't need to see the laboratory. That's exactly what I would have thought if Tyrunt was the only fossil Pokemon that had been resurrected from extinction. There were tons more, but the lab was focused mainly on Tyrunt and its evolution tree, and Amura and its evolution tree. We stepped into the research center, and signed the waiver, "we hope you enjoy your visit to the Ambrette Town Lab!" said the Secretary before she directed me to where I should walk.
We stepped into the room where the Amaura and its evolution were kept. I put Oasis and Tyrunt in their Pokeballs for now, I doubted a cold blooded Pokemon would fare well in a cold artificial environment. I knelt down and face my friends, "alright guys, we're going to be meeting a special Pokemon named Amaura!"
I heard the cry of a Pokemon running to greet us. A little four legged dinosaur ran at us, I assumed this was the Amaura had told us about. Volpsei was snuggled up under my legs, even though he was a fire type, he is just a child, and wasn't quite able to control his body heat of a dime. We all remained calm when the Amura stopped just three feet ahead of us. It then slowly started approaching,
I stared at this Amaura, it looked pretty friendly. All of us held still except for Volpsei, who had just adjusted his body heat to keep him warm properly. He quickly started yipping and playing the little dinosaur, I grinned, no matter what Volpsei manages to get on somebody's good side. He tripped in the snow, and Amaura stopped to help him off the ground..
"Oof!" I face planted into the Snow, thankfully Amaura ran up to help me, "are you okay?" he asked, I nodded. After he helped me up, Amaura tapped me with his tail, "you're it!" he said before running off. I started grinning happily, I liked this guy! I ran off after him, Mom and Ruby joined in while Davaid just sat and watched. He shook his head, "how do you guys have some much energy all the time?" he started smiling before running to, trying his best to keep up with Ruby, only to slip and fall on his butt.
I ran up to Davaid after he slipped, I barked at him, trying to get him back up, "Ruby… I think it's time I told you about the tickle monster again!" he quickly grabbed me and started tickling me to no end. I was gasping for air, trying to get away from him, I barked trying to get him to stop, which he obliged to. I did my best to crawl away from him, I was pulled back in, "Snowy help!" she giggled at me, walking closer to us. Thankfully Davaid only pulled me in to hug and pet me. One day I'll get my revenge on Snowy for just letting me get tickled.
The timer went off, "dear visitors, now is our Pokemon's meal time. Please exit their habitats, as visiting hours are closed for now," said the secretary. We all sighed, "bye Amaura!" I waved at him. I wish the lab would let me take him along for the ride. I could, he and Volpsei loved each other's company greatly, and yet he probably needed this cold enclosure for Amaura's own safety.
After we had left the I heard somebody start following us, the guy who had sold Davaid the Tyrunt was following us, I just put it aside as a coincidence, and I turned my focus back on the road. I nudged Davaid, "you should probably let Oasis and Tyrunt back out," I reminded him, "Oh shit you're right!"
I quickly grabbed their Pokeballs on my belt, then let Oasis and Tyrunt out of their Pokeballs. Oasis slithered closer to me and rubbed my cheek with her head, I laughed as I patted her on the back of her head, "hey girl!' I greeted her. I turned to the newest member of the family. Tyrunt was staring up at me, I normally gave my Pokemon names moments after meeting them, with the exception of Snowy and Ruby, who was named by my mother, and Ruby got hers an entire day after I met her.
Tyrunt looked pretty damn cute, he had something off about him however. He was staring at something behind us, the man who had sold him to me was behind us. He was grinning, we were out of Ambrette Town, so his crazy grin was only being witnessed by us. He turned to the Tyrunt, "I think it's time we give our target a refund?" Tyrunt quickly ate the Hyper Candy he had been holding since I met him, and just like that, he was a Tyrantrum! The seller sent out a Liepard. We were in between it and Tyrantrum.
I stared at the Tyrantrum, I hadn't gotten to know him very well, since I only met him a couple hours ago, but I was still pretty upset. It wasn't even because I spent money on him, I was ready to take him in as a new friend, and this comes out! I looked at Snowy, Ruby, and Oasis, "well guys, let's show we're not pushovers huh?" Ruby's tail started wagging, she knew what was next, "Snowy take on that Tyrantrum, Oasis and Ruby, let's take down that Liepard!" I tapped on my Mega Ring and pumped it to the air, and Ruby was engulfed in energy. Snowy turned into the growling demon that she was when she was pissed off, and charged up a Moonblast. Oasis' calm demeanor slowly changed into a raging typhoon , and quickly shot a Hydro Pump at the Liepard. I grabbed Volpsei and hid him in my backpack, I didn't want him getting hit by a stray Dark Pulse of Stone Edge.
