Katara never admired these types of parties, they were more like a ball. She thought she was invited just because she was the Avatar's girl, but no one ever noticed she was part of the gang who literally saved the world. She scowled at the thought, there was a speech going on about how the Avatar was soooo great, he was literally worshipped in Republic city. Her thoughts were interrupted by a journalist, "You're the Avatar girlfriend, right? Anyways I just wanted to ask if there was any sexual tension between the two of you?". Katara was stunned. How dare he ask such a personal question, she scowled at him and bent the water from her glass and turned them to sharp icicles facing the interviewer, "Get out" she said with her teeth gritted. He squirmed and quickly excused himself from the table. She put the water back and turned to the girl next to her.

"This is stupid" Katara mumbled to her.

"I think it's pretty sweet, the people thinking and supporting the avatar so much," Suki said with a smile on her face.

"They aren't supporting him! They are just blindly worshipping him even though he didn't do anything for the past year. He is nowhere to be found, do you know where he is? Probably went to take a vacation forever. Suki, there is no Avatar anymore" Katara whisper shouted to Suki, she was furious now.

"Kat, he will come back for you, for all of us, just don't lose hope," Suki said with a hand on Katara's shoulder.

"He didn't come back in the past year, did he? I doubt he's coming back now, for me or for you" Katara said, avoiding Suki's eyes.

"Do you want to go for a walk near the lake?" Suki smiled hoping to calm her down.

"Alone" Katara mumbled standing up. Suki's smile disappeared and gave Katara a slow nod. Katara walked out from the main door in a fit of rage, her blue thinking out loud skater dress flowing behind her.

She reached the lake and sat on a nearby bench taking a deep breath. She couldn't believe that people still wanted him back. I have lived alone, with a hole in my heart for the past year I can manage for the rest of my life. I don't need a stupid person who can leave me whenever he wants just to go babysit the fucking world. I don't need him or anyone else, I can take care of myself. I don't care if my love will be incomplete, I don't need anyone's love. Katara thought this with tears in her eyes and her hand on her mother's necklace. "That...shitty...asshole" Katara nearly shouted.

"Who, me?" Katara heard a voice beside her, then she saw him, after a whole year. A handsome, young, tall man about the age of 18. He stared at her with a smile on his face, his gray eyes shining at the sight of her, and his eyebrow raised at her questioningly. His bald head exposing an arrowed tattoo that went down his neck and his hands in his pocket.

"A-Aang?" Katara said standing up, she forgot all her anger and rage and ran to him and brought him into an embrace. She melted in him until her anger returned to her.

She pulled away with a scowled expression. Aang looked at her confused.

"You...fucking...bastard," She said pushing him after each word.

"Ow, Kat, What's the matter?" He asked.

"What's the matter! You think you can come here whenever you want, leave whenever you want, and then not tell me anything! Who do you think you are?" Katara screamed at him, pinning him to a tree and both her hands holding his shirt in front of her.

"The Avatar?"Aang replied with a smirk, thinking he would get a laugh out of her. Oh, how wrong he thought.

"How dare you?! When I'm done with you, you won't be the Avatar anymore!" She said pushing him harder.

Aang gulped, making his adam apple move. But Katara refused to get distracted.

"Where the fuck were you, Avatar?" She spat the word out like it meant nothing, "After four months when you left I got so worried. I sent letters to Zuko asking for your whereabouts, but he never replied, did you know that? I sent Sokka and Suki with some Kyoshi warriors to look for you, they looked in the Southern Water Tribe, the Earth Kingdom, and even the Air temples for goodness sake. I even threatened the Firelord, because I couldn't find you. You didn't even tell 6 of your closest friends where you were, you didn't tell me. You weren't anywhere in the world..."

(Flashback)Katara saw Sokka's boat come closer and closer, she hoped her Avatar would be in the boat too. But with no luck, Sokka looked defeated. Remembering all her letters to Zuko which were clearly ignored she said, "Take me to the Firelord." When they reached there, Katara didn't even care who was staring at her or who tried to stop her. Sokka and Suki were behind her trying to calm her down even though Toph tried but it was no use. Katara barged into the throne room and saw Zuko's eyes widen at the sight of her and Mai looked at both of them confused. She shouted at the entrance of the room, "Zuko, I will kill you!" At her words, Zuko looked down with regret and guilt, Mai looked at him with fury wondering what he did, they both knew Katara wasn't actually gonna kill him but they meant what she was trying to say. The guards went towards Katara ready to attack, but Katara's eyes were glued on the Firelord, and walked towards him ignoring the guards. The guards were about to attack only to be stopped by the Firelord himself, he let Katara come to him. He could tell she was in pain and he caused it. She got water from the plants nearby, making them wither and using the water to freeze him against his own throne. Sokka, Suki, Toph, and Mai looked at both of them, they knew Katara wouldn't do this unless it was for a valid reason. She looked at Zuko with a growl. Zuko was in trouble. Katara stood in front of him and shouted "Would you like to explain or should I just say it," She didn't even wait for his response, "I sent hundreds of letters over the past, let us say 4 months! All for one reason, and I am positive you read them so I don't have to say anything, but instead of answering even one of them you thought you could ignore one of your best friends and expect that I will let it go. You thought I would probably understand that 'oh, he's the Firelord and all maybe he's busy to answer my very important letters, ay maybe I should just forget' am I right?" Her hands-on both his armrest, Katara bent down inches away from his face, before she could say anything else Mai spoke up "Zuko! She is one of your best friends, one of our only friends, you could have lost her, my love," her words were quiet yet thick, they were soft, yet they made a bigger impact on Zuko than Katara's words did. Zuko dropped his head down almost the brick of tears, Katara almost felt sorry for him but refused to show her emotions at this time. She grabbed his face and made him look towards her, her hand was cold making Zuko wince. "Firelord Zuko, I will ask you one last time… Where is Aang?" Her words were cold like ice itself. "I can't tell you, Aang himself told him to not tell anyone I don't know when the Avatar will be back...I'm sorry." His words were full of guilt and sadness, he looked down unable to meet her eyes. Katara growled one last time at him, "So you knew that he's alive and yet again you ignored me, bastard," and turned her back towards him, she was about to leave the room leaving everyone in shock but she stopped at the doorway and tilt her head to the right side a little "Mai was wrong, you could have lost my friendship, but the truth is you already did, " With a flick of her wrist she melted the ice around him causing him to fall to his knees. She left. (Flashback ends)

"...so where were you exactly? You know what never mind I-" Katara was cut off by soft and warm lips on hers, and strong hands on her waist. She wanted to melt into the moments but refused to show her emotions that quickly especially when he left her for a year. She didn't touch him instead she pushed him away with her hands and took one step back.

"How dare you! You're not allowed to do that any- " She was cut off again, this time it had more passion and love. She allowed her hands to linger on his chest before pushing him back again.

"Stop it, you have no right to do that-" again, this time her voice was softer, she couldn't hold herself anymore. She wrapped her hand around his neck and pulled him closer, he wrapped his hands around her slim waist pushing her against him. A moan escaped Katara's lips and she felt Aang smile against her. She pulled back again, "What's so funny" She raised her eyebrow at the Avatar.

"Nothing...it's just that you were shouting at me not 10 seconds ago and now your not letting me go," Aang said. Katara widened her at saw her arms were still around him, she blushes and removed her arms and took one step away hurriedly. "Must you ruin everything?" She said again mad at him, walking toward the hall back to the party.

"Kat, okay I'm sorry...Come on don't be like that" Aang said running behind her. But Katara ignored him. She quickened her pace worried Aang will catch up, he is an Airbender after all, he was quick on his feet. She opened the main door and walked to her seat, Aang, however, was stopped near the entrance by paparazzi. She quickly made her way to Suki and sat down quietly.

"How was your walk?" She asked.

"Phenomenal," Katara said sarcastically.

"Okay, anyway who is that?" Suki said pointing to the group of people, "Why are they so excited?"

"You'll never guess" Katara answered looking the other direction.

Suki looked at her questioningly but didn't say anything else. Then suddenly, Suki saw Aang walking towards them and shook Katara's hand "It's Aang!", Suki ran up to him and gave him a tight hug. "Hi Suki, how are you?" They started conversing as Katara just ignored.

A cute boy walked up to her and bowed, "Hello, my name Haru may I join you?" Katara looked at him examining him and found a smirk on her face. "You may," she said as he took a seat. Katara heard Aang excuse himself and came and sat next to her looking at Haru with squinted eyes, but Katara had a game in mind. "Oh, you are the Avatar aren't you," Haru said, finally noticing Aang, holding his hand out. Aang chuckled sarcastically "haha, that's me and you are?" Aang asked with a jealous tone only Katara noticed, She smiled to herself and looked at Haru but before she could say anything Aang out his hand on Katara's thigh, "So you must have met Katara, she is my-" Aang started to explain to Haru, "-friend, I am his friend" Katara finishes for him. Aang got surprised by her words then just scowled at her but didn't say anything.

"Well, a friend of Katara is a friend of mine," Haru said kindly. Aang gave him a fake smile in return though he was annoyed. I wanted to spend time with Katara, but then this boy comes to her instead.. great.

"You know you're kinda cute," Katara said, smirking at Haru. Both the men were surprised. Aang examined Haru with a disgusted face but Haru just smiled.

"Am I now? So are you...kinda." Haru said chuckling. Katara just giggled mostly because Aang's whole face was red, he sat back with his arms crossed mumbling something to himself, which Haru didn't notice.

"So what are you doing tonight?" Haru asked with a slight blush.

This caught Aang's attention, is he asking my girlfriend out on a date. He stood up and cleared his throat, "Excuse me but she is actually very busy, we have plans, I came back after a long time so-" He was again cut off by Katara.

"He is just saying that, so what do have in mind for tonight?" Katara asked Haru with a smile. Aang was annoyed at this point, he sat down as Haru and Katara talked, thinking about what he should do? An idea popped into his head. Two can play this game. He sat next to Katara so his leg touched hers, but she didn't flinch. Aang got his hand and placed it on her knee and slowly brought it toward her center under her dress and played at the line of her underwear. He smirked and looked at Katara whose face was as relaxed as ever, she was listening and answering Haru but her focus was on Aang, she's good, well so am I. Aang went inside her underwear and put his finger inside her pussy.

Katara started coughing and choking on her food, making Aang smirk and Haru stare at her worryingly.

"Should I get you some water?" Haru asked. Katara gave him a quick nod and he hurried away.

After he was a safe distance away, Katara shot a glare towards Aang, she put a hand on where his hand was on her dress.

"What do you think you are doing?" Katara asked him barely inches away from his face.

"What do you think you're doing?" Aang asked Katara.

Katara pulled his hand out and looked at him with no expression, "Well, if you heard I have a date tonight." She looked at the people at the party.

"YOU HAVE WHAT!" Aang screamed making everyone stare at him. But he didn't even care, he was stunned and unable to say anything. Katara looked at him amused by his reaction and walked graciously out the back door hoping Aang would follow.

Aang broke out of his trance and saw Katara leaving; he stumbled after her ignoring the people asking him questions. He went out and saw Katara lean against the railing and stare into the horizon.

"Why would you agree to go on that date? Do you not have a boyfriend, yes yes you do me-" Aang stopped when he saw Katara's cheeks with tears. He didn't say anything after and stood next to the waterbender just watching her think.

"Why did you come back?" Katara asked with a lump in her throat. Aang looked at her confused but didn't say anything and let Katara speak, "You could have stayed wherever you were, you didn't have to come back, it's not like someone waited for you they probably didn't notice you were gone. I bet no one, not even Sokka or Toph looked hard enough, they kept saying you were going to come back soon, I had to live off their belief for so long, Aang. I didn't have my own belief I had to listen to my mind, not my heart, you know why? Cause it was broken, it broke me Aang" Katara said, controlling her tears avoiding his eyes.

"Did you not wait for me? Did you not miss me" Aang asked, not taking his eyes off her. Katara chuckled, "Aang, how can I not miss you, your right here and I still miss you. Aang I can wait for you my whole life, if I have to wait for the rest of my life, I'll wait for you because Aang.., it's you, it's always been you. I love you and I always have and I always will" Katara looked up to him waiting for an answer. Aang looked at her and hugged her as hard as he could and smashed his lips with her, he tried to make up for the whole year he was gone and so did Katara. His hands circled her waist down to her lower back and pushed her towards him. Katara could feel Aang getting hard on her dress, her hands snaked around his neck and went down to his chest, feeling his muscles. She went down under his shirt and brought them up to his chest resting them there, feeling his warmth.

"Katara?"

They both broke apart and looked at each other, and Katara cringed at the sound. Aang stared back with a proud smile, she smacked him on the shoulder and turned to look at Haru.

"Haru… um hi," She said.

"So you kiss the Avatar, but you plan on going on a date with me?" He looked at them with an unbelievable expression. Aang was biting his lower lips, stalling a laugh, but he couldn't help it and fell on Katara's shoulders with his hands on her waist laughing hysterically. Katara smacked him again on the side making him laugh even harder.

"I'm sorry...I guess...not really" She said, also trying not to laugh. Haru scowled at her and walked back inside. Katara started laughing with Aang but stopped and slapped him on his chest.

"You dog, that was so mean," She said, still giggling.

"I-I can't help it," Aang said in between laughs. He finally stopped and looked at Katara with loving eyes and held her waist, "So.. where were we?" Katara looked up and Aang kissed her once more, the lovers melted into each other forever.
