I got a review of the last chapter, thanks for the review BadStores. Yea, I will admit, the ending was a bit cheap. I edited it a bit to make it a bit better, in the future I'll try and not do cheap endings to chapters like that.

We stepped into Shalour City, apparently where Mega Evolution originated with a Lucario… it also had some of the best ice cream in Kalos! That grabbed mine, and my Pokemon's attention first. Rexy ate his ice cream in one bite, while everyone else had taken their time. He laid his head down next to me, "hey bud," I rubbed his nose. I was genuinely surprised at how sweet he was even though he started out on the enemy's team, but I can't complain.

We all finished our ice cream, so it was time to explore town. Rexy had to be put in his Pokeball due to his huge size, he'd probably accidentally get in the way of incoming traffic. We kept walking around until we saw a Pokemon Gym, with none other than Ash and his travel buddies standing outside of it, after remembering that conversation he and Clement had, I turned around, and walked in the opposite direction. I liked Ash and his friends, but it would've been awkward speaking with them after breaking off a few days ago.

"Hey! It's Davaid!" I sighed, they had sharp eyes, I looked at the road ahead of me, I could easily pretend I didn't hear him. I looked at my Pokemon for help. I turned around and waved, "yo," Ash ran up to greet me, I extended my hand out. He shook my hand as his Pikachu jumped down from his shoulder to greet Snowy.

"Hey Snowy!" he got down on all fours like he wanted to play, "hey Pikachu," Volpsei tried jumping down to play, but was in Davaid's grasp. I kept my composure, and looked up at Davaid's face. He peeked into my eyes, "how's it been?" he asked, "it's going fine, how about you?" Pikachu got back on his hind legs after he figured I wasn't going to play, "I'm doing good."

"So, are you here to take on the Shalour Gym?" asked Clement, "don't I need two badges to take it on?" I asked, "nope, you can take Gyms in any order you want, Gym Leaders can adjust for new trainers," he explained. I looked up at the Gym Sign, if I followed in Mom's footsteps, and became a Pokemon Trainer it could be fun. I shook my head, "I don't really like doing Pokemon battles," Ash put his arms on his hips like a disappointed parent, "why not give it a shot? That first battle of yours made it seem like you knew what you were doing!"

I wish I could just dissipate on command, whenever people compliment my battling skills, I cringed in the past. Just because I was okay at something doesn't mean I want to do it. We stood there for several minutes, "I dunno about that, I only know the basics, I'm nothing special when it comes to this stuff," I turned around and started walking, "c'mon guys." I heard the door open. Korina stepped out, "so Ash, are you ready for our battle?"

We were about 40 feet away from the Gym, "hey! I think I've seen you on the news!" said the Gym Leader. Instead of stopping, I just kept walking, she'd probably just talk about how I killed that Malamar. I covered Volpsei's ears, and kept walking. Walking at the speed of sound sounded very appealing right now. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't have escaped her voice.

I noticed how uncomfortable Davaid looked after that lady started talking. I whined at him, "yea girl?" I nudged his free hand, then licked it. He started to pet me, "hey! Listen when I'm talking to you!"

Davaid was looking a bit off after I spoke to him, it probably had to do with that conversation he heard a few days ago. Korina was going off on him about how he was ignoring her, "you should listen to your elders when they talk to you!" I could visibly see a vein pop in Davaid's head, "kid, aren't you 10 years old?" she nodded, Davaid sighed, "alright, I'll listen to ya, even if I'm a good six years older than you."

We walked into the Gym, and sat in the lobby. I jumped up on Davaid's lap after he settled down in a chair, "hey Ruby!" he scratched the back of my head, he wrapped his arms around my neck, and finally started relaxing, "so, you've been making a name for yourself, huh?" he looked up and shrugged, "I stopped paying attention to the news, you wanted to speak with me, so get to the point."

I rested my head back on my best friend, Snowy climbed up and set her paw on my back, "I've been hearing that, that Ninetales of yours, she is insanely strong considering she's with a beginner like yourself," I nodded, "so what are you getting at?" she pulled out a Pokeball, "I want to see just how strong she is," I could feel Snowy shaking, she loved battles a lot. Her excitement got my heart pumping, Volpsei popped his head out of my backpack, he recently started jumping in it a lot for some reason, "let's go around back, we have a field that's perfect for a battle!"

We stepped outside, "Davaid, let me do this battle on my own," I ordered, I stepped onto the field. I remembered the strategies Elizabeth used 40 years ago as clear as day, Korina sent out a Lucario, it had a Megastone attached to its arm. This one might prove to be a tougher battle that I could handle, "you better not get my hopes up for nothing," I told its trainer, she didn't seem shocked, she just nodded.

Lucario took a fighting stance, while Snowy just kept sitting there. I knew Lucario was strong, and he was going to be Mega Evolved! I felt energy surging through me like crazy! Korina tapped the Keystone in her glove, Lucario was engulfed in light, and that light exploded everywhere. He was Mega Evolved! Snowy seemed to be using Calm Mind, which boosted her special attack and special defence.

After the Lucario Mega Evolved, I finally stood up. I closed my eyes, then started to tense up, and started growling. It was finally time to take a fight seriously! "Use Aura Sphere!" The Lucario quickly shot an orb of energy, I used Protect to quickly deal with it quickly, I could feel the power behind that shot, I couldn't let myself get hit by one of those.

I shot an Ice Beam to try and kite my opponent, I kept firing them with no thought put behind it, I just needed to get them nto a position so I could hit it with a Moonblast. Its trainer started grinning, "use Power-Up Punch!" It started charging forward at a dangerous speed… if only it was using Extreme Speed again, I jumped into the air, as if to try and use Ice Fang on it. It jumped up to hit me, I quickly used Telekinesis to get back onto the ground, and then I shot Moonblast at it.

Lucario took a pretty big hit, Snowy was once again calm and collected. She quickly jumped out of the way of Lucario's Power Up Punch, it didn't seem too hurt by the Moonblast, "not bad, most of my opponents are down in one hit," she complimented, "you're not too bad yourself," said Lucario, "Force Palm!" He rushed forward, only to be swept to the side.

I wasn't letting him get anywhere near me with a Fighting Type move, I knew he could knock me out before I could knock him out, so I was just trying to go for as long as possible. If I could land a few more Moonblast, or even an Extrasensory I could win this fight…. I quickly dodged another one of his attacks, I quickly hit him with a Blizzard, I put everything I had into it, and it froze him solid.

I was panting, if he didn't get knocked out from being frozen in a block of ice, I probably couldn't dodge another attack of his. The ice finally broke, and he fell out of the ice, no longer Mega Evolved… he fell to the ground, and was literally out cold. I giggled at my bad joke, before realising I had won! Davaid and the rest of the team ran up to greet me, while Korina retrieved Lucario, "that's some Pokemon you've got, Davaid!"

I shrugged, "I didn't even train her, my Mom did," I patted Snowy's back, Korna knelt down, and started petting her too, "so how was that fight?" She barked while wagging her tails. She definitely enjoyed battling Mega Evolved Pokemon, and that gave me an idea of just how strong they can be. Soon after she started sleeping, Volpsei managed to get out of my bag, and started licking her sleeping face.

"That was awesome Mom!" Even though I knew she couldn't hear me, she was amazing at battling! I wanted to evolve as soon as possible, so I could be strong like Mom! I kept licking her face until I eventually nested on top of her. Everyone except for Davaid, Ruby, and I, "I guess that battle was pretty cool, huh guys?" Ruby and I groaned at his bad joke, before he got up with Mom still in his arms.

"How about we go find a place to stay for the night?"
