I laid down in the very Pokemon Center I slept in on my first day in Lumiose, all of my Pokemon except Rexy were out, he couldn't fit in the small hotel rooms the Center provided to trainers. Volpsei was laying at the foot of the bed, it almost didn't feel right looking at him, being used to the little Vulpix he once was. I wish he didn't want to evolve so soon, but I wasn't going to stop him from doing something he wanted. I reached over and pulled him onto my lat, "hey buddy," he rolled on his back, and tried pawing on my face, "hey Davaid!" he greeted.
His tails flail about as he squiredm, trying to get in a better position to lay on my lap. Ninetales weren't often very calm and collected, so seeing one with the energy of a young child like Volpsei was right now, was a treat. He was so damn cute! After he had evolved, his fur had gotten much softer, and more luxurious. Volpsei got at a good enough angle to start licking my cheek.
I got up off of DAvaid's lap, walked over to Mom, and laid down on her side. Even if I was evolved, I was only a kid once right? She covered me with her tails, and started cleaning the tuff of fur on my head, "Mom! You're making me less scary!" I playfully complained she giggled, "don't be ridiculous, you'll always be a cute little fluff ball!" I started to put on a pouty face, "oh, don't give me that look dear, being cute is a good thing! Oen day you'll find yourself a lovely mate with your looks!"
I laid in a corner of the room far from the rest of the Pokemon in the room, Ruby was playing tug of war with Davaid. After what Snowy had said to me, I was almost afraid that no matter what people will try and say about Ninetales, they're scary Pokemon! I don't even know how Davaid constantly pets and cuddles up with them, especially that Ice Ninetales! I rested my head on my paws, I peeked around the room, Oasis was resting never to the air conditioner, Rexy's Pokeball was on the nightstand,
I let Ruby win our little game, she trotted away to gloat in her victory, and I peeked over at Axl, he looked genuinely bored. He was eying every spot in the room, "Axl, c'mere," I called him over. He climbed up the bed, and sat down in front of me. He was staring at his paws the entire time he sat there, I laid my hand on my shoulder, "hey Axl!" That made him snap up, I patted him, "buddy, if you're bored just let me know, okay?" he nodded. He laid down, and finally started relaxing.
I didn't want to drag him onto my lap, the rest of my Pokemon enjoyed huddling up, and were used to me. Axl I had met a while ago, but I wasn't too sure if he would've liked me forcing my way to cuddle up with him. Thankfully he made that choice for me, laying next to me, and putting his front half on top of me. I guess he doesn't mind huddling up huh? "Good boy," I hugged his head. Axl barked again, before snuggling closer.
I joined Davaid and Axl, I doubted he'd try to hurt Davaid at this point. I just wanted to get close to my trainer, "hey Ruby," he yawned, and scratched my back. I crawled up to him until I was practically using him as a bed. I turned up my body heat to work as a makeshift blanket for him. Axl laid his head on my shoulder, probably feeling the warmth I provided, "so, what's it like working with Team Flare?" I asked, hoping to get something out of him, "it sucked! We Pokemon are kept in big cages, and are only let out to fight for them!" he sighed, "I'm relieved that I get to spend the rest of my days with a cool Pokemon Trainer like Davaid now!" he added. He then laid his head on Davaid's shoulder, and started to sleep.
Not long after Axl had started to sleep, Snowy and Volpsei waltzed up, and laid next to us, "hey guys," I obviously couldn't move my arms, since Ruby was using me as a bed, "hey Snowy, can you get the lights for me?" she nodded, the lights went out, and everyone except Oasis was cuddled up with me. I didn't mind Oasis wanting to sleep on the floor; she was larger than the beds, and it didn't help that we were all on one bed as well.
Somewhere in Lumiose City, landed a Hydreigon, on its back was a lady, "thank you, Smalg," she said. She grinned, "looks like we'll be getting out fifth Gym Badge in the morning," she returned her Pokemon, and proceeded to find a place to stay the night. Opting out for a simple, cheap hotel nearby the Lumiose City Gym.
My head snapped up, "Elizabeth?" My old trainer was in the City! Or at least close enough for me to pick up on her. What on earth would she be doing here? On top of that, I could sense that she brought the rest of her team with her! She might be trying to get into the Kalos League if she was bringing them around. I grinned, no matter what, she wanted to wasn't going to stop training. In the morning I decided I should tell Davaid, I would still rather travel with him, but maybe he could send me over whenever Elizabeth was about to do a Gym Battle… I wanted to fight by her side again. I looked over, and he was wide awake.
I swear, everyone in the city could've heard a Hydreigon land on Lumiose's soil, "you know who's here, huh Snowy?" she nodded, "I think Mom's trying to prove Alolan trainers aren't pushovers this time around. We both grinned, I picked up Ruby, and moved her so I could move. I walked over to the room's phone, and dialed Mom's number… she finally picked up, "hey mom."
"Hey dear, how is your adventure going?"
"It's going well, Snowy heard you touch down in Lumiose,"
"Of course she would! How is she doing?"
"She's doing well, she took down a trainer's Mega Lucario on her own,"
Snowy nudged my leg, "oh right Mom, why are you in Lumiose?"
"You know exactly why young man," I could almost hear her put her free hand on her hip.
"Well Mom, I think Snowy might want to join you in each of your Gym Battles,"
I grinned, of course my starter would want to be with me during big battles like these, "she should stay with you, you need the protection, and then she can join me in the Kalos League," Davaid moved the phone to tell Snowy, and I could hear her bark, "she wants to at least take on the next gym with you." I started thinking about it, "meet me in the heart of Lumiose tomorrow afternoon, and you'll see me and Snowy battling like those recordings of our old battles!"
I started smiling, watching Mom battle was always a spectacle especially to those like me, who didn't know much about battling! Snowy and I looked in each other's eyes. Mom had already hung up, so we laid back down in bed. Snowy had to calm herself down before going to sleep that night.
