The sun shined down through the window, directly onto my face, Snowy's sleepy little head was right in front of me! I reached out and scratched her ears, Vulpix were so cute! She was still sleeping, but I knew as soon as she woke up, she'd be an energetic little Pokemon. I kept petting her face until she eventually did wake up. She barked lightly before licking my face, "good morning Snowy!" she tilted her head at first, and then I remembered; I gave her her name while she was sleeping.

Mom just referred to me as "Snowy" was that my name? It probably was, I stopped tilting my head, and started licking her face again. Mom brought me closer to her face, "you must be hungry, right?" just as she said that, my stomach started growling. I whimpered at her, hoping she had something. She lifted me up out of the bed, then walked out the door with me. I was finally getting a good look at where I would probably be living for the rest of my life. It looked nice and simple to me.

I sat down on the counter while Mom got something out of a large container, "good mornin' Elizabeth, how's Snowy been?" she picked me up, and held a bottle full of milk to my face, which had a little nub on it. I latched on, and started drinking, "she's been good so far dad, she's adorable!" this "dad" walked over to us while I drank, and patted me on the head. I stopped for a second to enjoy the moment, "looks like our Growlith's gonna love her!" just as he said that, a Growlith burst through the door, barking his head off.

"Hey Inferno!" I would've reached down to pet the little Growlith, but my arms were currently occupied with Snowy, who was still eating. He barked at me, then sat down to patiently wait for Snowy to get done feeding. Snowy pushed the bottle of milk away, it was empty. She licked my face, "Vulpix!" I settled her on the ground, then crouched to greet Inferno, hey buddy!" Inferno was the family pet, outside he puts on a tough guy act, but was one of the sweetest little Pokemon I've met.

Even though Elizabeth was giving me a lot of attention, my eyes were locked on the Vulpix, "now, you be nice to Snowy while I go run an errand, okay?" I nodded, she got up to get changed in her room. Snowy had similar thoughts to me, since as soon as Elizabeth left, the Vulpix walked up to me and started sniffing me all over, which in turn made me do the same, "hey!" Snowy sat on her haunches, for a baby Pokemon, she's not very energetic, "hello Snowy!" I lowered down like I wanted to play, suddenly all that baby energy inside of her burst, and she tapped me on the head, "you're it!"

I looked down at Volpsei, he had succumbed to his drooping eyes, and fell asleep. Snowy stared dreamily into the air, those times were held dear by the two of us, and they would be until the day we die. She laid her head on my chest like she had that first night she met me, "goodnight Snowy," she smiled and licked my face, "goodnight Mom," her drooping eyes finally closed, and she started snoring. I rubbed her head, even after all this time, Snowy was still adorable, and nothing was changing that. She had picked up a few things that were common amongst Ninetales, such as their vengeful nature, and their fluffy tufts of fur on the top of their heads, but not much changed about her.

I sighed, Snowy would outlive both me and Davaid by a long shot, so she'd probably either find a new trainer and forget about us when we die, or be lonely for the rest of her life. I hugged her head, and she opened her eyes, "you know I can hear your thoughts," she told me, I nodded, "I won't forget either you, or Davaid even if it killed me. If I ever forget you two, then I'd forget who I was," she licked my face again and laid her head even closer to it. She covered me with her tails, "Besides, I can curse you both with not being able to eat cake, and then we'd be together forever!" she said in a joking manner.

Deep down, knowing that I can easily outlive both of my current trainers almost made me depressed, these two were my family. Both of them and their Pokemon could easily get weakly cursed for a thousand years, then we could stay together, but I don't think they'd want that either. I cursed myself for being a Ninetales, while it had its benefits, the biggest downside would be just how long it'd take just for me to be considered a senior. Knowing how limitted my time was with my trainers made me cherish every single second even more, and gave me a reason to wake up each day.

Elizabeth and I peeked over at Davaid and Ruby, both in a dogpile, still drooling, except they somehow managed to change positions, so Davaid was using Ruby as a pillow. Mom took out her camera and snapped a quick photo, "him and that Houndoom act like they've grown up together sometimes," I said while giggling at Ruby got up specifically to lay on top of Davaid again, and fell asleep almost immediately afterward. I almost envied her, she and Davaid would live for roughly around the same amount of time, and wouldn't be cursed with having to live a thousand years without her best friend like I would have to. Elizabeth pulled me into a hug, and soon after fell asleep. I closed my eyes as well, then slowly started drifting off into my sleep

I slowly started waking up, for once I wasn't covered by Snowy's tails, but I did have a Houndoom sleeping right on top of me. Ruby's head was directly on top of my face and it made me smile, I rubbed her back as it slowly rose up and down with each time she breathed. "Houndoom were the deadliest,t most fierce Pokemon" said the people back in Alola, they probably never met one then, or got the chance to know one. Ruby rolled onto her side, her eyes were wide open, she started smiling at the sight of my face.

I stared into Davaid's eyes, I was still too tired to want to get up, so I just laid the side of my head on his face again. He scratched my belly while we stayed like this, "hey girl," he whispered, rubbing my jaw as well, I licked his cheek before laying my head back down. I had to admit, while I would've preferred not being in that bear trap, it was the best mistake I ever made. I exhaled, then closed my eyes again, after yesterday, I was allowed to sleep in. everyone was allowed to sleep in after all the work they've put in. My trainer's stomach moved up and down as he chuckled to himself about something, "I've heard some people say Houndoom are evil, they might lose their shit when they see you."

That was a new one, I knew humans weren't the biggest fan of Houndoom, but not once have I heard them being called evil. Davaid was more than likely chuckling at how an "evil" Pokemon was mainly focused on trying to sleep in, while using its trainer as a pillow. Even I chuckled, people would call anything evil given the chance, and their beliefs were stupid. Davaid poked my nose before hugging me, not long after he started snoring again. I giggled while licking his nose, then went back to sleep like he did.

I had gotten up, got off the bed I was currently sharing, and laid next to Davaid and Ruby. I took Davaid's hat off the nightstand, put it on my head, and laid my tails over my trainer and friend like Mom did, I directed a bit of heat into my tails to make them even warmer. I sighed, snuggling into Davaid's shoulder, and dozed off again. My trainer made for a good pillow sometimes! I felt his arm moving, then wrapped it around me, keeping the other around Ruby, "hey Volpsei…" he drowsily smiled at me, before going back to sleep.
