Somebody was knocking on the door, I groggily looked up, carried Ruby over to the door, and opened it, "hey…" I greeted, Ash was standing on the other side with his friends, "Laverre City wants to throw a party for us, for freeing them of Team Flare's occupation of the town," I nodded, not really paying attention, "it's supposed to be at the city's old ballroom in an hour," I nodded again, waving my hand, and closing the door. I walked back over to where the beds were, Mom was wide awake and petting Snowy. Rush padded over to me, wagging his tail, "hey bud," Mom looked up at me, "good morning Davaid," she greeted, "mornin' Mom," she pointed at me, "didn't Ash just say something about about a party?"

I laid Ruby back down on the bed, "yeah, I was gonna get ready for that," I sat down on the bed, and pulled Volpsei over to me. He was still sleeping, up until I sat him on my lap, "morning Davaid," he greeted. He moved his head a couple of inches just to get closer to my face, "hey buddy," I patted his head while Ruby got up and shook the sleepiness out of her eyes, everyone was wide awake now, well everyone outside their Pokeballs. I let Axl and Oasis out, the latter slithered over to lick my face, "hey Oasis."

Elizabeth got up to go change and fresh up in the bathroom, I stretched, and jumped over to Davaid's bed. He was currently scratching Axl's chin, "hey Davaid," I rubbed my head against him, spun around, and laid down, "hey girl!" he yawned, "guess I'll make y'all breakfast," I got up and followed him into the kitchen, Davaid had pulled out a box of pancake mix and a frying pan. Ruby sat down on her haunches beside me, still smiling, "you've been a bit more clinging to Davaid this morning."

"What about it?" I just shrugged, "I don't really think it means much, but it does mean something's on your mind," I laid my paw on her back, "so, what's on it?" Snowy looked at me with eyes full of… jealousy? "You know how like Ninetales usually live, correct?" I nodded, "a thousand years, right?" Snowy nodded, "correct, what's on my mind at this current time is that my time with Davaid and Elizabeth is very limited," she sighed, "you and Davaid are expected to live for roughly the same amount of time, in fact most Pokemon live for as long as humans do."

I took a deep breath, "what I am saying is; if nothing grievously injured one of you, you two wouldn't have to wait long to see each other on the other side," Ruby got the message, "and you'd have to wait roughly a thousand years?" she was dead on point, she looked me dead in the eyes, "hey, don't think of that as a hindrance to how much you love them, and how much they love you. Just think of it as another reason to get up each day," she stared at Davaid while he got the first batch of pancakes done, "if I knew I had to live a thousand years after my best friend died, I'd make sure to enjoy every single moment I'm with him much more."

I didn't know if what I was saying helped her or not, I wouldn't ever know what it's like to watch my loved ones die while I barely even aged a sitch. What I did know is that I should hold every moment with Davaid tightly close to me even if I lived for centuries after he's gone. Before me or SNowy could go deeper into that subject, Davaid set out pancakes in front of us, "breakfast is served!" he walked out of the kitchen with several plates in his arms. Snowy laid her head against my side, "I guess you're right, I should just focus on loving them, and love each moment I'm with them," I almost smiled, it felt good to help a friend out. I licked her face, she may have been much older than I was, she might even be insanely strong, but even the strong needed a moment to cry to somebody about their problems.

I walked out of the bathroom in my usual travel attire, I looked around the room, every Pokemon had a plate of pancakes out in front of them. Davaid must've gave them all breakfast, on my bed was a set of pancakes labeled "Mom" I grinned, I looked around the room, but my son was nowhere to be found. I peeked out of the balcony to see Davaid feeding my team, and his Tyrantrum. Both of which were too big to fit inside our hotel room without it being very cramp for them.

After everyone ate, we all started walking to the Laverre City Ballroom. It was only a block or two down the street, we all sat down on a bench while we waited for the doors to open up, so I grabbed Snowy's head, and turned her to me. Her eyes looked much brighter than they had the first time I stared into them, "hey Snowy," I lifted her up onto my lap, and started to pet her. Ruby pawed my leg, so I lifted her up too. After ten minutes, Ash and his friends strolled up, "you guys ready for the party?" both me and mom shrugged, "I guess it'll be pretty cool."

The doors were open with the Pokeball Company's CEO holding the door for us, "come in! Come in!" Volpsei happily trotted through the door first, given he was from a town known for partying like crazy, aside from its love for Vulpix and Ninetales, he'd probably love a good party every now and then. I didn't feel as much enthusiasm to be going, but I grew up in a pack of Houndoom and out on the road after having to leave it. I didn't even know what a party was until very recently, I just stuck like glue to Davaid, who just decided to pick me up and carry me.

The ballroom looked very old styled, yet moderned. With the stone, dome shaped roof, from the pillars holding the lower, heavier parts of the ceiling, and the large chandelier hanging from the roof of the dome. I could see load of food set out on a table for the guest, I could've sworn I've seen Team Rocket at their own little food stand, "hey guys, I'm just gonna grab something to eat, I sorta skipped out on breakfast," that was half true, I didn't eat breakfast, but I wanted to make sure those scam artists wouldn't try anything.

I settled Ruby on the ground after I reached Team Rocket's food stand, it had food that looked actually well prepared, "so, Team Rocket, you're trying to get into the food business now?" I said, grinning at their reactions to me finding them out, "so what? We just wanted to make a quick buck!" said James, who scoffed at me, I looked down at the choices of food they had laid out, "guess I'll take a couple servings of those spicy dumplings right there," I had no idea why they were serving Kanto food in a Kalos ballroom, but I couldn't complain. I handed them the money, and started walking away, "wait!"

Jessie put her hand on my shoulder, "can you bring you Ninetales over?" she asked, "are you gonna steal her? If so then she was standing right beside me the whole time," I pointed down, to Snowy sitting there, "hey! Is it wrong of me to want to pet something with fur that soft?" This was the weirdest set of thieves I've ever met. From selling food to scamming children out of their Pokemon to this. I looked down at Snowy, she let Jessie pet her on the head, "she's even softer in person!" her friends had to drag her away from Snowy, and back to their concession stand.

I took a bite out of their spicy dumplings, my mouth was practically on fire, but it tasted good. Who knew a set of thieves could cook? I took the two of the trays I bought and set them in front of Snowy and Ruby, and the last in front of Volpsei. They seemed to like it, I'm pretty sure if Team Rocket stopped scamming, and made a restaurant they'd probably make more money out of it. They'd probably also be good at it, unlike their ability to scam somebody.

"Hey, isn't that one of the kids who saved the town," said some folks, pointing at me, "he looks like that kid who was on the news for killing a Malamar," you've gotta be fucking kidding me! I sighed, "hey guys, after we're done eating, we should just leave," I told my Pokemon. Volpsei threw a fit, but Snowy gave him a rundown of why we were leaving, "you killed a Malamar?" I nodded, afraid of what he'd say, "why would that change you as a person? You aren't dancing in its skin like a psycho," he pointed out.

To say I was upset was an understatement, "hey Volpsei, it's fine. If you want to stay at the party, then I'll stay," said Davaid, he sighed, "I swear, reminding somebody of the bad things they do just makes them a worse person sometimes," he whispered under his breath. I nudged his hand, "yea buddy?" he patted me on the head, which brought his mood up. Suddenly a guy from the crowd walked out and pointed at my trainer.

Yelling as loud as possible he asked, :so you've killed a Pokemon huh?" This guy sounded like the typical rich douchebag that just loved kicking Growlithe that were starved, "if so, then why are we celebrating with this guy? He had nothing to do with freeing our town from Team Flare!" I looked down at Snowy and Ruby, they looked like they would kill that guy, "guys, don't do anything to him, we'll just be worse off if we did," some of the townspeople pointed at me too, "yeah! He's probably here looking for his next victim!" across the room I could see Mom staring at me.

I took a deep, long breath. It took me everything to not started cursing out the crowd, Volpsei nudged me again, "we should just leave," that I couldn't agree with more, "alright, alright, I;ll go, jeez," as we made our way out to the door, somebody sicked their Charizard at me, who was quickly knocked out by Snowy, who threw it at a wall with her telekinesis, "hey!" yelled Snowy, she was speaking to everyone with telepathy like she was a Psychic Type.

I was half tempted to kill whoever sent their Charizard at Davaid, but he held me back, so all I could do was yell at them, "we were already leaving, next person to attack my friend will leave in an ambulance," the guy who pointed out Davaid earlier stepped forward then pointed at me, "hey! You knocked out my Pokemon!" Davaid picked me up off the ground, "c'mon guys, it's not worth fighting some guy who has his head up his ass."

I chased after Davaid, even Ash and his friends chased after him. Davaid was just sitting on a bench outside the Pokemon Center when we found him, trying to calm down Snowy, "oh, hey guys," he turned his focus back on Snowy, "hey girl, thanks for saving me back there," he started to pet her on the head. He looked surprisingly not pissed or sad about having to leave early, "hey buddy," Ash sat down next to him, and placed his hand on my son's shoulder.

"Hey Ash," I greeted, I lifted Snowy and settled her on my lap, "what's up?" he looked at me like I was crazy, "so how are you feeling?" he asked, "it's going alright, I'm not really pissed about what hat guy said, or leaving the party," I sighed, "I'm pretty sure that guy would've threw a bottle or something at my Pokemon though, and I don't feel like staying around to let that happen," not long after, said douchebag stood in front of us, "hey! I'm not done talking to you!" if this guy tried hitting, or throwing stuff at my Pokemon, I'll break his fucking nose.
